Chapter 10: You my Girlfriend?
George walked into his room and sighed. "Smooth," a voice said. "Just let her walk off without even kissing her."
"Well, what was I supposed to do?" he asked. "Kiss her in front of Fred and Katie that would have worked out really well."
"At least she would have known you weren't embarrassed to be with her."
"Why would she think that?"
"Because she needs to be reassured. She doesn't know how much you like her."
"So I need to go around with a bucket off roses so I can give on to her in every class?"
"No, just do something. . . .not exactly romantic, but show her that you're willing to fight to win her over." With that Ginny got off his bed and walked out of the room.
George laid down on his bed and closed his eyes. He needed to get some rest. Tomorrow was probably going to be very awkward. "So you and Angie?" a voice said from the doorway.
George opened his eyes and saw Fred smirking at him. He groaned. "You're going to take the mickey out of me aren't you?"
"Maybe," Fred said. He walked over to his bed. "George and Angelina sitting in a tree K-I-S-S"
A pillow hit Fred in the mouth. "Hey!" he protested. "You didn't let me finish my song!"
"That's because it was awful," George replied.
Fred ignored this comment. "So how was it?"
"How was what?" George asked. A pillow hit his face.
"The snogging, you prat!" he replied.
"I wouldn't know a couple of peeping toms walked in before I could find out," George replied sourly. "Wouldn't you know, anyway?"
"You don't have to be sour just because I got my girl and you didn't," Fred replied, laying down on his bed.
George glared at him from his place on his bed. "You know, you could be a little more supportive."
"Oh, I do support you," Fred replied. "That doesn't mean I'm not going to take the mickey out of you."
George rolled his eyes and closed them. His thoughts filled with Angelina.
Angelina laid in her bed thankful that Alicia was asleep. At least she wasn't badgered with questions. Suddenly her curtains were pulled open and closed in a flash. "So what happened?" Katie asked her.
Angelina groaned. "Really, Katie?"
"You wouldn't be complaining if I were George," Katie replied, making kissing noises.
"Shut up," Angelina said, giving her a shove. She sat up and looked at Katie.
"Well? What happened?!" Katie asked.
Angelina shrugged. "We just went to Hogsmeade, met up with Lee and Alicia, and came back."
"Angelina," Katie drawled.
"Ok, fine! I'll tell you," she said, rolling her eyes. "Well, we went to Honeydukes and saw you guys-"
"You did?!" Katie interrupted. "Why didn't you say anything?!"
"Because we didn't want to be rude," Angelina said. "Anyways, he pulled me into the storeroom and we waited for you to leave. When you left Alicia came and got us and we went to Zonko's and the Three Broomsticks. When Lee and Alicia went back to the castle, George said he wanted to show me something. He took me to the Shrieking Shack-"
"You guys went to the Shrieking Shack?!" Katie interrupted again. "That's so cool!"
"Yes, we went to the Shrieking Shack," Angelina said. "Anyway, so when we got in there, he-"
"You slept with him didn't you?!" Katie asked wide-eyed. "You-"
Angelina slapped her hand over Katie's mouth. "Questions, after." Katie nodded. Angelina uncovered her mouth. "No, we did not sleep together. He showed me a secret passage that led under the Whomping Willow. He didn't tell me that though. So we get about half-way back to the castle, I get mad at him off course, but it was pretty funny. Then some little twit came and asked him out. I went back to the common room before I could hear his answer. I didn't want it to be awkward or anything. So I got back to the common room and George comes running in after me. Then he tells me he didn't want to date that girl and we were about to kiss before two rude people interrupted us."
"Sorry about that," Katie said. "I didn't know that you guys were in there or I would have waited."
"Thanks, but can you leave now?" Angelina asked. "I'm tiered."
"Alright, but we are going to talk about this tomorrow," Katie said, before getting up and walking out of her room.
Angelina awoke the next day and stretched. She got up and went to the bathroom. After showering she combed her hair out. Tilting her head from side to side, she tried to decided how to wear her hair. She pulled it back with her hand to see how it would look in a ponytail. Letting it fall down, she decided it was best to leave it down. She usually wore her hair up anyways, and needed a change besides, she wanted George to like it. She preformed a few charms on it so it would stay straight, but had a nice bounce to it.
"Why are you all dressed up?" Alicia asked from behind her.
Angelina jumped. "No reason, just needed a change," she mumbled.
Alicia raised her eyebrows, but didn't say anything. After a while, Katie came in to see if they were ready. She smiled slyly at Angelina, but didn't say anything. They walked down the stairs to the common room in silence. Angelina knew Katie was itching to say something about her hair, but she was refraining. When they reached the common room, the boys were already there. Angelina inhaled as they entered. "Hi, Freddie," Katie said, wrapping her arms around him from behind him.
"You're going to be one of those annoying couples, aren't you?" Lee asked.
George's eyes were glued to Angelina and she gave him a small wave behind the others' backs. "Let's get down to breakfast before I starve," Fred said.
"You won't starve," Katie said, hitting him across the chest playfully.
"Come on, you two," Alicia said, pulling them toward the portrait hole. Lee laughed and followed them.
Angelina grabbed George's arm as they were about to go out the portrait hole. He turned around and looked at her. "Yeah?"
Angelina just kissed him in reply. She felt George smile and wrap his arms around her waist. She leaned into the kiss threaded her hands through his hair. Her tongue slipped out of her mouth and onto George's lips. He opened his mouth for her. His hands gripped her clothes like he wanted to rip them off. His lips moved down her neck nipping, licking, and sucking at it. He reached her collar-bone and bit down on it lightly. Angelina knew it was going to leave a mark. "George," she said, laughing. "George, if we don't catch up they're going to think something's going on."
"So?" he mumbled into her neck.
"So I don't want to deal with Katie's annoying looks," Angelina replied.
"Fine," he said, pulling away from her. He looked confused for a moment. "Why don't you want her to know?"
"Because she'd be like 'I knew this was going to happen'," she said, mimicking Katie. "Besides, I want to keep it a secret for now. If that's ok with you?"
George smiled. "Yeah, that's fine, Ange," he said.
"Good," she said. "I'll go out first then you come a little after, ok?"
"Alright," George replied.
Just as Angelina was about to leave, he asked, "So does this mean you're my girlfriend?"
"If it comes with snogging like that, then yes," she replied cheekily. George just smiled.
