The Runaway Bride (6th Doctor Version)

Part 2

By Z-King

The Doctor stared as the killer Christmas tree was heading right towards him. Donna pushed him away from the insane evergreen as it crashed into the wall.

"Oi, think you can you use your wand thing to get rid of these things already!?" Donna shouted, her tone switching terror then anger.

The Doctor managed to shake his head of nearly being killed by a tree, stood up and noticing the deadly ornaments just hovering over the six robot Santas, with their musical instrument weapons in hand.

The Doctor stood between them and Donna, the rest of the wedding guest cowering in fear.

"Well, I don't suppose you all came here for the cake?" said the Doctor.

The middle robot Santa holding the remote control pointed its finger at Donna, who grabbed on to Lance.

"Thought as much," The Doctor said looking at Donna, then at the robots.

"Well okay, you can take her."

Donna's face changed from scared, to shock, and then to anger.

"WHAT?!" she bellowed while the Doctor walked slowly to the DJ.

"Now Donna, they are after you and they would likely kill me to get to you. And I for one do not wish for a new face, so go on ahead take her away," said the Doctor.

Donna was getting ready for another yell when the Robot Santas started walking to her in unison.

"But before you take her…"

The Santas stopped. The Doctor poised his Sonic Screwdriver at the music station.

"…What happens when you plug a Sonic Screwdriver into surround sound? COVER YOUR EARS EVERYONE!"

The Doctor shoved the screwdriver into one of the slots and activating it, causing the whole room to emit an immense wave of sound. Everyone covered their ears in pain.

But the robots where not so lucky, they all started to fall apart. Then the ornaments expoloded along with their masters.

When all the robots fell the Doctor turned off his sonic, ceasing the piercing tone.

He ran towards one of the fallen robots while Donna was making sure the guests where okay before walking towards the Doctor.

He stood up while holding the robots remote and damaged head.

"Now what he have here are two remote control devices; one for the decorations and one inside this robot," The Doctor explained. "Which of course means that all of the robots have one as well. That implies that someone is controlling these scavengers."

"Yeah that is all fine, but you're a doctor right? Some people here might be hurt, or worse," said Donna.

"Please use your head girl," he said. "If they wanted everyone dead they would have easy done it. Besides, I just saved everyone from becoming worse. I'm sure minor hearing loss is a better alternative to obliteration."

"But why is it after me?" said Donna. "And who is it?"

"Well I have two logical theories," said the Doctor, using his sonic screwdriver on the android's severed head. "But I won't go on until I've proven them."

Donna was about to say something when her mother came to her with her face still in shock.

"Donna, what the hell is going on? Who is that man?" she asked.

Donna did not know what to tell her. Even she did not know that much about the Doctor. But before she could say anything the Doctor said;

"Well do you want answers or not? Come on!"

Donna looked back as the Doctor walked out the door, then back at her family, then she followed the Doctor outside. She saw him waving his screwdriver in the air.

"Okay where is the signal then Martian man?" she asked.

The Doctor groaned about being called that again but he ignored it and said "The signal is coming from up there somewhere. And seriously, what part of my biology says 'Look at me, I'm a Martian' to you?"

Donna chose to ignore that.

"Up where? Is it coming from an airplane, or the moon? Oh my god don't tell me that there is some alien in the moon!" said Donna.

"Don't be stupid Donna," he said. "How could there be an alien inside the moon?"

The Doctor yelled.

"What?" asked Donna.

"The signal's cut off! Oh well, since I'm so clever, I've come up with a plan B; we need to go to your office at H.C Clements."

"Why there?"

"Stupid girl," he said. "Because that's where all the new factors are; your new job, your boyfriend-"

"Fiancé!" Donna barked.

"Whatever," said The Doctor. "As all boys are taught at the Academy; when doing an investigation, examine all new factors in the scenario."

Suddenly, Lance showed up behind them.

"Well well," said the Doctor. "If it isn't factor 2. And theory 2 as well. No wonder she picked you, you're a total package."

"What?!" Lance said nervously. "The hell are you on about?"

Before Lance could defend himself, Donna pulled his arm and said. "Come now, no time to lose! I want to have a word with who ever is ruining my wedding day!"

"Uh…. Our wedding day dear?" Lace said nervously.

A drive later and they arrived at H.C Clements and made a dash to Donna's desk.

The Doctor typed as he talked. "From what I can only guess, this 'Torchwood' group, whoever they are, don't appear anywhere publicly. That implies that they're a secret organization, more likely than not government-owned. And more likely so, utilizing Alien technology."

"Aliens?" she asked. "You mean like what happened at Canary Wharf?"

"What happened at Canary Wharf?" the Doctor asked still typing.

"Well, I was in Spain, but my mates told me that there was an invasion months ago," Donna said. The Doctor instantly stopped typing and stared at her.

"There was an invasion? Here? On Earth… in 2006?!" the Doctor asked. "Who invaded?"

"Well I don't know. But Lance can tell you," said Donna pointing at Lance.

"Yes well, I think they called themselves the-"

"No! I don't want hear it!" shouted the Doctor interrupting Lance. "Don't want any spoilers."

The Doctor resumed his typing.

"If there is one thing I can't stand more than an idiot," he mumbled, "is someone spoiling things."

Donna and Lance just looked at each other while the Doctor quickly moved to another computer.

"Now," he continued. "If Torchwood is such a secretive circle, and just so happen to own this particular company, then it makes sense they would have a bunker of some sort in this very building."

"Well that is all fine and such, but what do they want with me?!" said Donna.

The Doctor stood up and looked at Donna in the eye.

"Donna, somehow you have been dosed with Huon energy and that should not be possible. Huon energy existed in the beginning of the universe, but by the end of the Dark Times all Huon energy was harvested by the Time Lords and placed inside of their TARDISes."

Donna was still confused. The Doctor sighed. He hated being the only one in the room with any clue.

"Ok," he said, struggling to come up with a way to simplify it. "So… the Huon particles turned you into a magnet. My ship is like a metal."

"So…I was pulled into your ship because some prehistorical particles made me a magnet?" Donna said giving the Doctor a weird look.

"That's the best I can explain it," He said. "I'd use visuals, but all I've got to work with is a mug and some pens."

"I think I understand it enough." Donna said.

"Good, moving on," The Doctor said. "Lance, point us to the nearest lift?"

"I don't see how that helps." Said Lance.

"Oh Lance, you work in a place that makes keys and you don't see it," groaned the Doctor looking over the computer image of the building. "Now you say on the 3rd floor and underneath reception is a basement. We need to get to the lower basement."

"There isn't a lower basement," said Lance.

"Please tell me that's a wager," The Doctor said with a grin. "Because if so, I've got 30 Quid."

The Doctor got up and walked casually to the elevator. He pushed the button and when it came down and opened up, he walked in and pointed to a button.

"There! Lower basement," the Doctor said with a smug face. "You didn't think I was playing Solitaire that whole time did you?"

"Wait, you're telling me this building's got a secret floor?" said Lance as Donna looked surprised.

"I just showed you the button didn't I?" the Doctor said annoyed. "If you continue to doubt me on this you lot are happy to come along, you might like to know how this mystery ends."

"The hell I do Martian man, I won't let you out of my sight," said Donna walking inside the elevator.

"Come on Lance!" shouted Donna.

"Uh, maybe I should call the police or something," Lance said nervously.

"Inside now!" and just like that Lance came inside.

"I'm guessing I know who wears the trousers in this relationship," The Doctor remarked.

"Tell me about it," said Lance.

"Oi!" shouted Donna.

"Okay, but how are we going to get there you need a key," said Lance pointing at a keyhole near the button.

The Doctor answered by placing his sonic screwdriver near the lock. With a push of a button he unlocked it. The elevator stopped. The Doctor and company got out to find themselves in deep underground corridor.

"Look at the size of this place, do you think Mr. Clements knows about this?" asked Donna.

"Probably not," said The Doctor, pulling out his scanner. "This might just be a puppet company."

The device started to beep on his left.

"Ah! I am detecting the same signal from the robots there, sadly it seems to be a pretty long walk."

Donna looked around and noticed something. "Or we could take these?"

The Doctor looked at what Donna was referring to and said. "You got to be kidding me."

Soon the Doctor, Donna, and Lance where riding their way across the tunnel in up right on motor scooters.

"This has to be one of the most ridiculous things I have ever done," He thought. Then he heard Donna laughing.

The Doctor raised an eyebrow, "Just what do you think is funny, Donna?"

"It just having been transported into alien box, then being hunted down by robots, and now we are heading towards whoever is doing this on scooters! It's really crazy don't you think?" she said.

The Doctor was about to dismiss her opinion but taking it into more thought…

"Hmm. You know what, your right. It is crazy isn't it?" the Doctor said giving Donna a chuckle. Lance watched the two laugh like they are having the time of their lives.

"Why do you laugh like that?" Donna asked.

"Like what?" The Doctor asked.

"Like you haven't laughed in ages." She answered.

"I…I don't know." He said. In all honesty, he had no idea. It had been forever since he laughed out of joy or just over the silliness of something.

Have I really become so uptight? He wondered.

Finally the Doctor's screwdriver picked up the location and stopped the scooter near a door, with a T symbol. The words Torchwood read under it, with the words authorized personnel only.

"Call me crazy, but I think we've found our way to the source of all this," The Doctor said as he started to open the door.

But when the door was opened, there was nothing but a ladder up.

"I don't see anything," said Lance not impressed.

The Doctor looked at the Sonic screwdriver.

"What is the matter with this thing?" he said banging it on his hand.

"Look, this getting us no where and also I think this has gone on long enough!" said Lance putting his foot down.

But the Doctor obviously did not pay attention as he looked up. "Hmm. Maybe I can see where we are underneath."

"Hello are you even listing to me?" Lance said.

The Doctor turned to Donna and Lance.

"Ok, I'm going to take a quick look up. You two stay right here," he said as he started to climb up the ladder.

Lance turned to Donna. "Was he listing to me?"

"Not even a little!" The Doctor shouted.

The Doctor finally reached to top and after pulling the hatch found himself at…

"Thames flood barrier?" said the Doctor as he made his way down to the others.

"All right it seems who ever this Torchwood people are they put a base underneath here."

"Wait there is a secret base hidden underneath a major London landmark?" said Donna.

"That is what I said," the Doctor was saying before his sonic detected something.

They followed it right to another door but when they entered it…

"Now this is what I call a secret lab."

The Doctor wasn't kidding. The room filled with rows upon rows of tubes containing strange liquid along with tables with familiar killer ornaments.

"Interesting. These Torchwood fellows are manufacturing Huon particles," The Doctor said observing one of the tubes. "Normally I'd say I told you so, but I think the evidence speaks for itself. Mind you, if these people keep messing with this stuff they could turn all of London into a big crater. That is why my people got rid of Huons, all they do is unravel the atomic structure."

"Wait, your people? Who are they? Who do you represent?" asked Lance.

"Oh forget about companies will you man? Can't you see the bigger picture?!" shouted the Doctor. "Torchwood is using the river, extruding them through a flat hydrogen base so they can make Huon particles in liquid form."

"And that is what is inside me?" asked Donna.

The Doctor respond by holding one of the containers towards Donna, causing both her and the container to glow.

"It all makes sense now," the Doctor said.

"Really?" said Donna still in shock.

"Whoever's behind this needed a living catalyst to complete the Huons. All those hormones and emotions bubbling inside you made them erratic, placing you inside my spaceship."

Donna took a breath. "Look, are these Huon things dangerous, am I safe?"

The Doctor looked at Donna with a look that Donna would take as a mix between serious and sad.

"There was a reason my people got rid of Huon particles, it is because they where deadly."

Donna started to tremble at that answer.

"And I figured out who did this," The Doctor said angry. "But what I can't figure out is…why?"

In a swift motion the Doctor took hold of Lance's shirt, pinning him against the wall.

"What the hell man?!" Lance said in terror.

"Why Lance?" the Doctor growled, "Why would you do this to the poor girl?"

"Get off of him! Donna yelled.

"Answer me!" The Doctor yelled.

"Why the hell would Lance be the one behind all this?" Donna asked.

"Think Donna," The Doctor told her. "Huon particles in liquid form, Huon energy inside your body, connect the pieces woman! Just like you said, 'no one goes out of their way to make a secretary a coffee.' Use that brain Donna; a handsome successful man making you coffee for no reason at all…"

"What…what are you trying to…?" Donna trembled, not wanting to believe the crazy man.

"It takes 6 months for Huons to develop," he continued. "He gave you coffee for 6 months. He's been poisoning you Donna! And you took the bait."

Donna's eyes began to tear up.

"Lance…" she said. "Please tell me he's just bonkers….tell me!"

Lance didn't answer. Instead, he kneed the Doctor in the stomach, giving just room for escape.

"Hey!" the Doctor yelled, chasing after him.

As he ran, Lance rolled up his sleeve, revealing a wrist-com.

"Empress," he aid into it. "We've been found out at the lab! I need backup!"

He looked back up to seen the room he entered. The only thing inside the room was a giant hole in the floor. He was trapped. The Doctor and Donna caught up with him.

"You will not touch the groom, my multi-colored intruder!" Said a hissing voice.

The Doctor and Donna looked around for the source. Suddenly, seven Santa-drones teleported in front of Donna and The Doctor, blocking them from Lance.

"I have waited so long. Hibernating at the edge of the universe until the secret heart was uncovered and called out to waken me!"

The Doctor noticed more robots the same type as the Santa robots aiming their guns at them from different directions.

"I must say the robots are nice, but I am more interested in that hole you got here. How far down is it?" the Doctor asked the voice.

"Down and down. All the way to the center of the earth," Spoke the hissing voice.

"The center to the Earth?" said the Doctor. "Why would anyone want to dig a tunnel their?"

"Dinosaurs!" shouted Donna getting an idea.

"Dinosaurs?" asked the Doctor lifting an eyebrow.

"Yeah like that old movie."

The Doctor just gave Donna a look that said are you kidding me?

"Okay, that is it! Whoever you are show yourself!" shouted the Doctor.

"High in the sky, floating so high on Christmas night."

"Well I for one do not want to talk to a voice from up in space, I would like to see who I intend to stop!"

"Who are you with such command?"

"I am the Doctor, now come out or are you scared to face me?!" the Doctor said grabbing the edge of his coat in an authoritive matter.

"Very well, prepare your best medicines Doctor-man! For you will be sick at heart!"

As soon as the voice said that a flash of light appeared at the platform in the room, showing the form of a giant red spider like creature. On the front of it shows the body of a female humanoid creature with a crest shaped head, with six eyes two on her face and four on her forehead. Her arms are long claws, and her back is a huge spider legs and sack.

Donna was so terrified she didn't have the will to scream. The Doctor's face gave off a mixture of surprise and horror.

"Racnoss?" he said as the creature hissed, showing her fangs.

"B-But that is impossible the Racnoss are all dead, you should be dead," the Doctor said in shock.

"The Empress of the Racnoss is not so easily killed!" she hissed.

"But it is still impossible! The Racnoss can't still be alive not after…" the Doctor paused as a thought came to his head.

"You're the last of your kind aren't you, Empress?"

The Racnoss Empress responded only by hissing.

The Doctor smiled a bit at this.

"Well, I could hardly feel sorry for you after all the death and destruction your race caused, devouring whole planets. Care to justify that?"

"Racnoss are born starving, is that our fault?" she hissed.

Finally Donna spoke. "Wait they eat people?"

"People, plants, animals, minerals, solids, liquids," he said. "They were the ultimate omnivores. At least that leads out Mr. HC Clements about being behind this."

"How?" asked Donna.

"Cause it seems he is on the menu," the Doctor said pointing up at a dead human body hanging on the webs.

"Oh my God!" Donna said in shock.

"My Christmas dinner!" hissed the Racnoss.

"Monstrous act aside how did you survive the war? The Fledgling Empires destroyed the Racnoss, all of them!" said the Doctor.

"Except for me!" hissed the Racnoss.

"That doesn't answer my question," he groaned. "But what about pretty-boy over there? What's he get out of all this? Surely marriage wasn't his idea."

"Couldn't risk her running off, so I had to say yes." Said lance, walking up to the Empress. "You would not believe all the time I had to sit there and listen to all that yap, yap, yap and all other stupid things I had to suffer with that woman. I should have a medal for this!"

"You manipulated her all this time for a medal?" the Doctor asked. "Some fancy title and a company car?"

"It's like you said, the big picture," Lance said. "What is the point of it all if the human race is nothing? That is what the Empress promised me the chance to see the universe, all of it. I think you understand, don't you Doctor?"

The Doctor did not give him an answer, after all what could he say to an absolute fool.

"Who is this little physician?" asked the Racnoss.

"She said he is a Martian," said Lance.

The Doctor groaned at that.

"I'm not a Martian," he said grinding his teeth. "She's a giant space spider, she should know that! Now before I go off ranting you'll tell me what Huons and a tunnel to Earth's molten core have to do with anything."

"I think he wants us to talk," said Lance.

"I think so too," said the Racnoss.

"Well, tough, all we need is Donna," said Lance.

"Kill this chattering multicolored little doctor-man!" shouted the Racnoss Empress as the robots turned their guns at the Doctor.

"No! I won't let you!" shouted Donna shielding the Doctor.

"Oh don't be stupid Donna. These robots have been programed with great accuracy, they will hit me anyway," the Doctor said stepping in front of Donna.

"Take aim!" shouted the Racnoss.

"But before you fire may I just say one thing your great excellence before my death?" The Doctor said bowing to the Empress.

"Very well. What do you have to say before you die!" hissed the Empress looking pleased for the Doctor bowing to her and begging.

"I just wanted to say that the particles activated in Donna that drew her inside my ship, which was of course unintentional," the Doctor said pulling out the particle container. "But if I reverse it, the ship will come to her."

"FIRE!" the Racnoss shouted, but as soon as she said it the TARDIS appeared around the Doctor and Donna putting them safely inside.

The Robots kept on firing as it disappeared.

VOMP, VOMP, VOMP.

The TARDIS vanished, leaving the Racnoss Queen enraged.

"MY KEY!"

The Doctor continued pressing buttons on the console, trying to get as far away from the Racnoss as possible, but also trying to figure out her plans.

"Donna, you asked for a Time Machine before. As of today you are in one, and we are going to find out what the Racnoss wants from the Earth's core," The Doctor said not taking his eyes off the console.

The Doctor turned to Donna who was leaning on the console. The Doctor was about to tell to get off when he noticed her crying slightly.

The Doctor sighed. Poor girl. Despite the arrogance and headaches she gave him since they meet, she still a human being capable of feeling great pain.

The Doctor rubbed the back of his neck. He really did not to play the romance counselor.

Then the Doctor got a strange idea. But why not give it a try?

After The Doctor pushed a couple of buttons on the console he opened the doors and motioned Donna.

"We have arrived and I think you should come see."

Donna sighed after wiping the last of her tears away she got up and walked towards him.

After Donna got close the Doctor opened the doors.

"Donna Noble, I present to you the creation of your home world."

Donna (who just wanted to see her bed) looked at the scene in front of her. The magnificent image of space; from nebulas to millions of stars and meteors just floating in the emptyiness.

"Where is the Earth?" asked Donna not taking her eyes off the scene.

"It's not there yet," he answered. "We are exactly two minutes away from its creation."

"Lance was right. We're just tiny."

The Doctor looked at Donna, still seeing some sadness left.

"Tiny? TINY?!" he said, "Donna the human race is many things but tiny is not one of them. Look Donna, you see the beauty in what's happening in front of us while other races just see this as nothing. You, your mother, your friends, everyone who has ever lived on Earth was born on the remains of a mass of collisions and stardust. And the people born from that have done amazing things, asked so many questions, strived for so much."

Donna looked at the Doctor and gave him a smile.

Then the two noticed many rocks appearing to gather around each other.

"Now look; gravity is starting to pull say, a huge asteroid, and then it starts to pull others with it. Then all the dust, gas, and elements get pulled with until the creation of the Earth," the Doctor said watching.

Suddenly, a star-shaped ship appeared from the clouds.

"And there is the first rock, the Racnoss," The Doctor said in shock as the ship became surrounded with all the asteroids in the area.

"What's happing?" asked Donna as the Doctor pulled her back and closed the door.

"The Racnoss's ship, it was hiding from the war," The Doctor said. "What better spot to hide then inside a planet?"

Suddenly, the TARDIS shook.

"What's happening!?" shouted Donna.

"The Racnoss Empress, she using the same method I did to pull us back to where we left! But I know a few tricks!" shouted the Doctor pushing buttons randomly. "Hopefully they work."

"Hopefully? HOPEFULLY?!" shouted Donna.

"Now who's repeating their words?" The Doctor said pushing the final button. Suddenly, sparks flew out of the console. They had returned but instead inside the tunnels.

"What the hell was that?" said Donna getting up from the floor.

"I'll explain later, but right now we have to run!" shouted the Doctor, opening the doors and dragging Donna out.

"Where are we going?" Donna asked as they stopped at a sealed door.

The Doctor got out a stethoscope from his coat pocket and started trying to unlock the door.

"Doctor what are we going to do?" said Donna catching her breath.

"Don't worry I've got a plan in the works. Just let me think," the Doctor said continuing his work.

"But I am full of particles, why? What for?"

"During the war my people destroyed the Racnoss's source of power, but they went in hiding. That's the ship we saw earlier, back at the creation of Earth. The problem is that they need Huon energy to reanimate themselves, which so happens to not be around anymore. That's where you come in Donna, they needed someone to help them make new particles. Understand?"

The Doctor turned around to find no one around.

"OH you got to be kidding me!" The Doctor said pulling his hair, finally he had took out his sonic screwdriver and unlocked the door.

"Why did I not try that before?" the Doctor asked as he opened the door revealing a robot pointing a gun at him.

"Great," he said.

Donna woke up. One moment she was listing to the Doctor and now she found herself tied up in webbing next to Lance.

"Oh I hate you so much right now!" Donna said turning her shock into anger.

"I think we've got beyond that now," Lance said.

"AH, my golden couple, together at last!" hissed the Empress. "Activate the particles, purge every last one!"

Then suddenly Donna started to glow and to her surprise Lance as well.

So that's how they got her back here, she thought. Not so chummy with your friend now are we?

"RELEASE!" hissed the Empress as the glow left the two and went straight down into the hole

"At last, they will waken from their sleep of ages!" she hissed.

"Who will? What is down their?" Donna asked.

"How thick are you?" said Lance as the Racnoss Empress continued.

"My Children, the long lost Racnoss now reborn to feast on flesh!" she hissed as sounds of creatures echoed out of the hole. "Now the Web star will come and it will harvest the humans and will reduce them to meat!"

"Oh will you now?"

The Empress, Donna, and Lance turned to see The Doctor standing on the stairs.

"Ah, my funny little Doctor-man," hissed the Racnoss.

"Donna if you could hold your pride and hold on tight to Lance now!" he shouted pulling out his Sonic Screwdriver and pushed down. The web broke loose as Lance held onto Donna tight in fear.

"We're going to fall!" shouted Donna.

"NO SWING!" the Doctor shouted as Donna with her free hand grabbed a lose web and both she and Lance swinged across the hole screaming, passing the Racnoss and landing straight under the steps from the Doctor and crashing in a pile of empty crates.

"Um, you probably should have watched for that," said the Doctor looking down.

"Thanks for nothing!" shouted Donna while Lance got up and started to run away.

"No one is leaving the feast!" hissed the Rasnoss Empress. "TAKE AIM!"

The Robots aimed their guns at the Doctor, Donna, and Lance.

"AND!"

"Shut down!" shouted the Doctor as each of the robots dropped their guns and started to go limp.

"What happened?" asked Donna.

"Oh, I got this from a robot that tired to take me and now is missing a head," said the Doctor, holding up a controller the same one the robots used to command their machines.

"I think that is a good trade seeing as it broke my Screwdriver." He said holding up a fried sonic.

"I don't need robots, my children will come and feast on human and Martian flesh!" hissed the Empress.

"I'm just going to say this once. I. AM. NOT. A. MARTIAN!" shouted the Doctor.

"Then what are you then?" she hissed.

"I'm surprised that you haven't figured it out yet," said the Doctor speaking in a dark tone to the empress with a face that could stare into your soul.

"My people are as old as yours, but from another time. Perhaps I should tell you my home planet's name….Gallifrey."

After the mentioned of that name the Empress yet out a mix between a hiss and a roar filled with rage.

"TIME LORDS! THEY MURDERD THE RACNOSS!"

"AND I AM HERE TO FINNISH THE JOB!" shouted the Doctor. He pulled out three orb figures, Donna could see that they where the killer Christmas ornaments.

"NO! DON'T!" the Racnoss Empress begged after seeing what the Doctor pulled out.

But her cries fell on deaf ears as the Doctor tossed them into the air, separating into more orbs. With the controller in hand he sent them into different sections of the tunnel, causing explosions in the walls, letting water straight down the hole.

While Lance was trying to avoid the fires that where made by the other explosions, Donna watched as the Empress cried out over the sounds of the Racnoss down below drowning.

"NO! MY CHILDREN!" shouted the Racnoss Empress.

"You brought this on yourself!" Shouted the Doctor.

Donna looked up as the Doctor continued.

"Now the universe will finally be free of your monstrous kind forever more," The Doctor smiled. "Finally, the nightmares of the dark ages will final come to an end!"

"DOCTOR!"

The Doctor looked down towards Donna.

"You can stop now!" she shouted.

"Stop? What are you talking a-," The Doctor paused after hearing another cry from the Racnoss Empress. The Doctor watched as the Empress shrieked and morned for her drowning children. The Doctor's eyes widened, were once stood this heartless creature now stood a mournful mother.

The Doctor looked down at his reflection on the floor, but to his horror he saw someone else. There in the reflection looking right at him was a man dressed in black robes.

The Valeyard, The Doctor said in his mind. A dark image of a possible future for him. Could this action be one of the cause that could lead up to that future?

The Doctor looked back up at the grieving Racnoss.

"What have I done?" He whispered in horror, but he shook off the feeling and looked at Donna.

"Come on we got to get out of here!" the Doctor shouted as he came down and moved some debris out of the way as Donna and Lance followed the Doctor up.

"TRANSPORT ME!" shouted the Empress as she transported to her ship in space as it made its decent into the Earth stopping above the city of London.

"OH, THEY WILL SUFFER I WILL SCORCH THIS ENTIRE PLANET!" She shouted as lasers shot from the points of the ship, destroying some roads and causing panic among the streets.

Finally The Doctor and company made it out of the tunnels and watch the ship attacking.

"That's it, we're dead, we're all going to die!" cried Lance.

"Don't worry, the empress used up all the Huon energy. She's defenseless," said the Doctor. "And besides, while I dealt with that robot I put in a call to my old friends at UNIT they should be hear right about…"

The sounds of Tank guns where heard firing at the ship.

The Racnoss Empress screamed in anger for the final time as her ship along with herself was destroyed. The Doctor and company watched as the last trace of the ship burned up.

"It's done," the Doctor said solemnly.

Donna looked around and said. "Doctor we have one problem."

The Doctor turned fast at her. "What?"

"We've drained the Thames."

The Doctor looked out, seeing lots of boats on the dry land where there should be a river.

"Oops," was all the Doctor could say.

Both he and Donna started to laugh, then stopped when Lance laughed too. He stopped as he saw the Doctor and Donna glare at him.

"Um…no hard feelings?" smiled Lance.

Donna kicked him below the belt, then punched him in the nose, knocking him out.

"No hard feelings Lance, but we are done," She said wiping her hands.

The Doctor raised his eyebrows at this scene then twitched when Donna looked at him.

"Do we have to take him with us?" she asked pointing down at the miserable man.

The Doctor looked down and back at Donna and said.

"He can walk."

Later, The TARDIS arrived at Donna's street as both she and the Doctor walked out.

"There, you're home safe and sound, Donna," said the Doctor. "Oh, and I have checked the TARDIS's scanner. No trace of Huons left."

"Yeah, well I missed my wedding, lost my job, and got a divorce on the same day. Sort of," Donna said. "You know I wished the overgrown spider would have eaten him."

"Donna," the Doctor said shaking his head.

Donna sighed. "No, I don't. Well I better get inside, they'll be worried."

"The best Christmas present they could have," the Doctor said looking up in the sky.

"Yeah well, Merry Christmas Doctor," said Donna with a smile.

"And you to Donna," the Doctor said with a smile as well. "You know Donna, if you want you could always come with me."

"Where?" Donna asked.

"Oh across time and space, see the universe, after all traveling is good for the soul."

Donna looked at the Doctor and then at the TARDIS and back.

"No."

That never happened before thought the Doctor.

"No? Why not?" he asked.

"Well it's just everything today does this always happens like this?" Donna asked.

"No, not all the time," said the Doctor.

"Well I think it does, and I can't do it," said Donna.

"But, Donna you saw the universe for yourself. It was wonderful, it was-"

"Terrible," Donna interrupted. "The place was flooded, and burning, so much dying, and you stood there like a stranger. You where glad it was happing, you scare me to death."

The Doctor looked away from Donna sadly. "You're right. Recently I got a look at a dark part of my future, and it seems to have followed me here. I don't blame you Donna Noble."

Donna then smiled. "But hey, how about you join me and my family for Christmas dinner?"

The Doctor looked back in shock. This woman, who just told him that he scares her, and now she is inviting him to Christmas dinner?

The Doctor shook his head. "No thank you, I should just go off now. I don't do Christmas dinner."

"Oh come on, my mum can cook food for 20 people."

"Believe me Donna, as inviting as it is I really should go," the Doctor said as he opened the doors.

"You never told me what happened to your friend Peri," Donna said stopping the Doctor in his tracks.

The Doctor turned.

"From what I was told she is happily married as a warrior queen."

"At least someone had a nice wedding," grumbled Donna earning a chuckle from the Doctor.

"Am I ever going to see you again?" Donna asked.

The Doctor looked back at Donna.

"You know, Donna you are possible the strangest human I have ever meet. One moment you're terrified at me, then you invite me for dinner, and now your asking if we'll meet again?...perhaps someday."

Donna laughed a bit at that and then said. "Just promise me one thing?"

"What's that?" the Doctor asked.

"Find someone, cause I think you might need someone to stop you," Donna said.

The Doctor looked at Donna and sighed then he smiled. "Alright then I will. But in the meantime, I think I need some time alone. Goodbye Donna."

"Goodbye, Doctor," said Donna.

"Before I go, promise me that you will be Magnificent," the Doctor said as he entered the TARDIS.

VOMP, VOMP, VOMP.

And like that the TARDIS vanished.

"I will," said Donna walking back to her house with a smile on her face.
