Chapter 10a (Everlasting Thanks to Everyone)

(Slowpoke's POV)

Thin white veils of magnolia white clouds hung in the sapphire blue sky. The golden sun was a fireball, emanating searing rays of energy that pierced through my home's windows, exposing all the dusty areas in the room. The glaring rays seeped into my bleary eyes, forcing me awake. I yawned. Another boring day. Oh, I forgot to introduce myself. I am a Slowpoke, one of the laziest Pokemon on this planet.

I see puzzled looks on your face. Huh? Are you looking for something? Are you sure you aren't at the wrong place? It's unlikely I would have stolen anything from you, I'm too lazy to do that.

Oh, the Fantasy Games. I remember that now. Let me guess, you want to know what happened after the defeat of Mewtwo, right? Alright, let me refresh my memory...

After the other Pokemon and I returned to the Hoenn region, we decided to gather at Lilycove City to inform the police of our heroic actions. After hearing of our noble deeds, the Mega Lucario, head of the police force, immediately hosted a grand party, celebrating the death of the heinous criminal. Letters were sent to the other contestants' families, and they arrived in a jiffy, crying tears of joy as they saw their loved ones.

In the midst of the celebrations and the delicious feast that soon followed, Tyranitar, the mayor of the town, ordered statues to be built in the city square, to honour those who had put in significant effort and contribution in the downfall of Mewtwo. Of course, this didn't apply to all Pokemon. Only a few Pokemon had that honour, namely Absol, for his brilliant coordination and planning of the attack, my dad Slowking, for his bravery to start this rescue mission, Mienfoo, for his vital role in protecting us from the massive explosion, giving us the chance to destroy Mewtwo forever, and me, for not killing Treecko when I had found out her identity in the Fantasy Games, giving Slowking the time and opportunity to save us. Nevertheless, all the Pokemon involved in the Fantasy Games were given a medal, along with a one year supply of food vouchers. (no, not as good as the luxury Pokefood that Mewtwo gave as a reward, but it still tasted good)

The leader of the police force shook hands paws the leader of the devious business centre.

"I would not continue the chase for the past crimes you have committed. However, if you were to go against the law again I would not hesitate to send my men after you," said Lucario.

"What crimes are you talking about? I'm as innocent as a Mareep! You have no proof." Absol replied with a ghost of a smile, knowing that the Lucario could never find any traces of his past misdeeds.

"One fine day, I would catch you,"the Lucario declared, before letting out a hearty laugh. After all, the villain was the hero for today.

"I look forward to the day I enter the jail," came the reply.

Although Absol didn't cease his criminal deeds, but I was certain he had changed for the better. The hefty price tag that customers had to experience was no longer in existence, at least for good deeds. For missions such as saving others in distress, it only costs a few hundred pokedollars, which need not be paid on the spot. I'm not too sure if the price for illegal deeds have been reduced, but let's not venture there.

Which reminds me, about the payment that I had to pay for my rescue, it didn't cost me anything. Absol was too embarrassed to ask for money after Slowking's death. Maybe that was the spark that caused him to do some good for the Pokemon world.

Okay, enough about Absol. I'm sure you would be interested in what happens to the participants in the Fantasy Games. I can't say much about Charizard and Vileplume though, I don't really know what happened to them.

Growlithe had decided to join the police force as an apprentice, learning battle tactics and acquiring the ability to look for clues. I'm sure he would rise up the ranks quickly, given his sharp intellect and his decisiveness. He might be arrogant and forceful, but in time these traits would definitely be transformed positively. He still has his arrogance, always thinking he is right, but recently he has toned that down a little.

Mienfoo, oh wait, it's Mienshao, had become a karate instructor, teaching many aspiring Fighting type Pokemon combat techniques. It's no surprise, especially after I've seen his battle prowess time and time again in the Fantasy. He also visits the library very often, reading new books in a naive attempt to increase his intelligence, so that his fists can be reserved for those who actually deserve them.

Treecko resumed her work as a florists' assistant, helping her mother Sceptile and her father Aggron in their flower shop. She has a green thumb, always knowing the exact amount of water to give each plant, and also knowing when a fruit is in its ripest condition. I often make trips to Fortree City just to visit her. Of course, I tell her parents that I was passing by and visiting a friend. Unfortunately, for some reason her parents kind of know that we have feelings for each other. "I think you Pokemon should give each other some time." was the classic response of Sceptile whenever she caught me peeking through the glass window.

I myself, have earned a living by joining chess tournaments worldwide. For some reason, after the Fantasy Games, I did not revert to my 5 second reaction time. With my improved reflexes and brainpower, I no longer lost chess matches due to my timer running out. Surprisingly, I won many tournaments, giving me the capital I needed to set up a chess class for aspiring chess players, giving me a steady source of revenue. Coincidentally, Mienshao became one of my pupils, but he is the worst player in my class. Hush, don't tell him I said that. Well, it isn't really his fault, since he is competing with many talented Psychic type Pokemon. Chess is popular among those Pokemon.

The four of us became really good buddies, and we hang out often in many parts of the world. Occasionally Growlithe would start boasting about how great he is, but we don't really see the need to shut him up. Mienshao, Treecko and I would just look at each other, and smile.

Treecko and I temporarily broke up, but this wasn't the usual tragedy as we understood that our emotions weren't exactly sane in the Fantasy. Nevertheless, we are the best of friends and we knew that it was only a matter of time before we could be back into our relationship. Unfortunately, I have to watch out for Shellders approaching my tail, as Treecko wouldn't want to be together with a Slowbro. "If you ever evolve into a Slowbro, I would regret not killing you in the Fantasy Games." she warned jokingly, before sneaking a peck on my cheek when her parents weren't looking.

Okay, now we are done with everyone, let's go and talk about the dead shall we?

Yeah, I miss my dad Slowking, but Absol was kind enough to act as a messenger to Slowking and I, occasionally teleporting between the living and dead regions, passing on our messages to one another. I was also glad that he wasn't suffering , as Absol said it himself.

"The Land of the Dead is just a vast, but empty land. All you have there is your physical body., with only the power to change your looks, changing it to a certain age (like if you died at 90 years old, you can choose to look like you were 18), but that's all you can do. I, however, rule the Land of the Dead so I can conjure up anything I want. Hence, Mewtwo is subjected to harsh torment every day. What's worse is that you can feel pain there, but you can never die. So my daily ritual would be to tie Mewtwo up in my virtual chair, and whip him continuously with my virtual whip. As for Slowking and the participants in the Fantasy Games, I try to make their lives comfortable, giving them a cosy bed to relax and other nice stuff. They don't need food anyway."

I chortle in delight as he told me that, knowing that Mewtwo had finally got his just desserts.

I hope I have answered your questions, I'm getting tired already. Don't even tell me that it is only 10 in the morning. I already said, I'm one of the laziest... *snore*

LISTEN TO WHAT THE AUTHOR HAS TO SAY PLEASE. :D

~~~THE END~~~ (don't go away yet)
Alright! So this is the end of the story! I really hope you readers enjoyed it.
There's still an alternate ending, but don't expect it to be up soon. (sorry folks)
And, considering that this is the end of the Fantasy Games series, I'm gonna shout out my thanks to everyone that has influenced this story in some form or another, and also have some random things blah blah.
So here goes...
Acknowledgments.
No. 1 : Fanfiction user Rozeria in the gloom.
If not for her awesome story (but still not complete), Nightmare Guild, this Fantasy Games series wouldn't even exist.
So two years ago I visited fanfiction website, for the first time, and I saw this story. It's similar to what I've written (yes I got the idea from there but I just changed the rules of the game), so after I've read it, I was inspired to start writing one, giving rise to Desperate Murderer. So if you readers want more of this type of whodunnit murder stories, feel free to check her story out. I promise it's nice.
No. 2 : Fanfiction user General Rommel
Well, he was the first one to favourite my story, giving me the motivation to continue writing. :)
No. 3: Fanfiction user epicskitty
Well, the reason for this is simply cause I found his story, looked at the reviews page, and then PMed this user called Platrium to take a look at mine. It worked like a charm.
No. 4 : Fanfiction user Platrium
One of the few that read my story from Desperate Murderer to Revenge of the Victors, and giving me constructive reviews.
No. 5 : Guest reader Grammar Nazi.
Pointing out the fact that the other Pokemon could also be the murderer, and also for reading my story from the first to the last.
No.6 Pokemonshowdown Website for letting me (no, they muted me hundreds of times but it was worth it) use their website as an advertising page for me to advertise my fanfic.
My thanks also extends to those PS users who took time to look at my story, and giving me feedback
No.7 Bulbapedia for giving me all the Pokemon egg groups and movesets and appearance so that my fanfic can be reasonably accurate. Also, the Pokemon anime for giving me an idea of how the moves look like.
No. 8 Everyone else that I missed. You were all very important to me too. :D
Yeah, if I missed anyone, or if you want your name to be in this list, feel free to tell me and I would definitely include you in my acknowledgment list.
Also, as mentioned earlier, if you want to read any more of this type of murder mystery genre, please check out my favourite list. Read Nightmare Guild (and at the same time help me pester Rozeria to update), Unova Mansion and if you know Dangan Ronpa, you could also check out Poke Ronpa. They are all very good :)
I'm on a hunt for these types of stories too, so if you know any good murder mystery ones please please please share them with me. (preferably Pokemon ones)
Last but not least, if you find my story good enough could you guys help to recommend this to anyone who is also looking for something interesting to read? :D [shameless advertising but who cares?]
ONCE AGAIN, THANKS TO ALL WHO HAVE HELPED ME IN ONE WAY OR ANOTHER! Also, I would definitely correct any mistakes in my stories, it's just a matter of time. So feel free to ride the critic train!
I really enjoyed writing this and I hope you enjoyed reading it too. Sadly I doubt I would be writing any more fanfictions after the alternative ending, so I really can say goodbye for now. If I do write anything after this, (likely to be murder mystery again) if you leave a review here using a fanfiction account I can PM you once I start writing it.
Thanks for reading, and farewell. :D
