Hiiiiiiii everyone! I am so excited to post earlier than what I originally planned. Everyone can thank for this update! They left me such sweet reviews, which made me decide to treat you all!
As always, thank you sooooo much for all of the support. I love each of you - whether you have just been a reader, if you have reviewed once, or if you are a constant reviewer. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Reminders: I sometimes get confused between all of the versions of Winx (original, 4Kids, Nickelodeon, and Rai). No plots/characters/transformations/etc from the second half of season 5 and later will be included. I am aware there is now a Mythix transformation in the show - the Mythix transformation in this story was created before, therefore, it has no relation. I haven't watched Winx in a very long time, so some of my knowledge might be rusty. Please correct if you see anything wrong. Question: I read somewhere that the Dragon Flame was transferred from Daphne to Bloom once Bloom was born. I am not too sure if that is true, can someone confirm? Either way, in this story, Daphne was the keeper of the Dragon Flame until the moment Bloom was sent to Earth. To protect the Flame and her sister, Daphne sent both away. Thank you.
Hopefully this longer chapter makes up for the shorter chapter that I posted last time! Over 1000 words extra than what I usually write!
Enjoy the chapter.
The Obvious Wishes
The fire fairy brushed off the ashes that clung to her fresh outfit as she emerged from the fire.
Washed out blue jeans were apparently something her alternate self had owned, even though they didn't exactly scream princess. She guessed the Queen and King of Domino didn't approve of these pants, as they were in the back of her giant walk in closet. To make the look a little classier, she had a light pink blouse on. Her arms were covered with the flow-y material, which was something Bloom didn't usually like – she much preferred to have her arms bare. This shirt brought along a quality that Bloom liked though, so she wore it comfortably.
Even though it was in the middle of the night on Domino, it was midafternoon in Magix.
The princess readjusted her hair, making sure the braid down the center of her back was still in place. For some reason, she felt nervous.
Bloom could see the gates to the pink school from the tree she stood against. Before she took any more steps, she killed the fire on both Domino and Magix.
Even though the civilians of Domino were fast asleep, Bloom didn't feel like sleep was in her future. She was somehow still managing to keep walking and thinking, even though she had woken up over 34 hours ago.
Only 34 hours ago, Bloom had walked along the halls of Alfea School, yet, standing there in front of it, she couldn't help but feel like it was a lifetime ago. The school felt different – it didn't feel like home, even though she knew it should. Alfea was her home, but she felt like a stranger walking through the gates.
Where was her home?
Bloom didn't know. Yesterday, she would have responded with three different places without hesitation – Magix, Domino, and Earth.
Yet, she stood there knowing those three places were no longer home. Her adoptive family never existed, therefore Earth was the furthest away from being home. Her family on Domino had changed drastically, as well as her life there. She no longer lived among the same people, in the same palace. It was almost as if she was walking in a stranger's shoes. Magix felt like it should have been a safe place, but it was most definitely not. Bloom no longer had her powers of the Dragon Flame and Nick claimed he had never heard of any of Bloom's friends. He made it very obvious that it was not her home either.
Earlier, Bloom told Nick everything. He made a very convincing case, and Bloom opened her heart to him. He was very confused about everything that had happened in her life. She explained the past 20 years fairly quickly, before he gave her the idea to check with the others.
What if she wasn't the only one transported to this alternate reality? What if her friends had been transported here as well?
The thought brought such joy to Bloom that she left a few moments later.
The princess couldn't deny the fact that Nick was extremely smart. He had put together almost everything that had happened that day, as well as helped her discover things in the new world. Unfortunately, Bloom was so excited to check with her friends that she never got to hear from Nick about her life in this alternate universe.
"Think of the most spoiled, yet kind hearted princess you know… Act like her." Nick's words still rang in her ears. Bloom couldn't help but think of Stella – she was never as down to Earth as the other non-royalty girls, yet she still had a good heart. Bloom hoped that she could pull off her alternate self through Stella.
'Oh, please remember me,' Bloom begged in her head. She needed to get to her friends. Maybe, if she found them, she would be okay. They could all mourn Aisha together and figure out how to either survive in this new world, or how to get back home.
She couldn't imagine being in this alternate universe all alone. It didn't make any sense for her to be the only one transported to this world! They all took the wishes!
Bloom stumbled into another body, sending her crashing to the ground and breaking her train of thought.
"Ouch!" Bloom mumbled, rubbing the arm she fell on. She examined her flesh, but didn't notice any scrapes. Some dirt was stuck to her flesh, making it sting.
"Oh!" another voice called from in front of the red haired fairy. She looked up into soft green eyes. She looked beyond excited – a smile was stretched across her face and her eyes were dancing with excitement. "Bloom! I am so sorry, I didn't even see you! Girl, I didn't even know you were coming today!" The young girl shot up from the ground, colliding with the stunned princess.
"Uh. Hi?" Bloom pulled back from the awkward hug to examine the younger girl further. Who was she? "Krystal?" Bloom questioned, recognizing the young princess.
'Why is Krystal hugging me!?' Panic filled Bloom. How did she know this girl!? Oh Dragon. She didn't know how she knew this girl. Why had she come here!? She didn't know any of her old life. Why did she have to run into someone who seemed to know her!?
"Yes, honey," the young girl said patiently. "Did you hit your head?" she kneeled beside Bloom and began to examine the fire fairy. Bloom squirmed under her touch, pulling away from her feather light hands.
"No, no, I'm fine. Thank you," she said hastily. Bloom pulled away from the girl, once again removing herself from her touches. Why was she being so touchy? She knew who Krystal was, but who was she really? How did this Bloom from the alternate world know and interact with Krystal?
Her pink hair was tied into a high ponytail, allowing her eyes to really shine. She looked very similar to how she did in Bloom's home world. She looked to be around the age of 16, just as Bloom knew her. The only thing Bloom did notice was the change in her clothing. The Princess of Linphea was known for wearing her green dress, yet, she sat beside Bloom in a very tiny pair of denim shorts, paired with a white tank top. She looked the same, yet completely different.
"Is everything alright?" Krystal asked, moving her body around to catch Bloom's eyes. Their eyes connected and the connection held for a long moment. Bloom shifted uncomfortably, the awkwardness overwhelming her.
"I am fine." If only she had a dollar for every time she had to say that today. Heck, she wouldn't need to be a princess! She would be rich! It seemed as if she wasn't pulling off this 'alternate Bloom' very well. "Listen, I really need to go." She needed to get out of there before she made any more people suspicious.
"…Bloom?" Panic rose in Bloom once again. She was obviously not acting right with this girl, since she was extremely concerned for her. Krystal was right up in Bloom's face, breaking the personal bubble she had around herself. She was clearly worried about her, and addressed Bloom very informally.
'A friend?' Bloom guessed.
"Listen, Krystal, it was really nice seeing you, but I really need to talk to Mrs. F." Seeing confusion on the young princess' face, Bloom internally screamed. "Uh, I meant Mrs. Faragonda…" Krystal still looked confused, but she didn't push any more. She stood up from the ground, pulling Bloom along with her.
"Are you transferring?!" she asked excitedly. Bloom groaned internally. Couldn't she get a break!?
"No, but I… Well… I need to go. Text me later!" she called quickly. Bloom took a few steps away from the princess before turning back. "Actually, don't text me. My phone… broke. Yeah, it broke." The fire fairy winced when she thought back to her smoldering phone.
Oops.
"Oh. Okay. Bye!" Krystal waved to Bloom as she entered the halls of the pink castle.
"That was weird," Bloom muttered to herself as she headed towards the Headmistress' office. During her brisk walk, her thoughts began to wonder.
What had her friends wished for? Did their wishes come true? In this alternate world, did they all get their wishes?
Musa had wished for her mother to come back to life, Aisha wished for Nabu to come back to life, Stella wished for her parents to stay together, Flora wished her younger sister didn't die, and Tecna had wished her family and Timmy got along.
Her wish had gone so terrible, what about the other girls?
Bloom was even more confused. Why didn't her friends try to contact her yet? Of course, Bloom didn't try to contact them yet, but shouldn't they have tried too?
Throughout the day, Bloom had accepted many things had happened that she didn't know of or understand. She had her family back – her birth family, that is. Her powers were never given to her by Daphne the day Domino was attacked, so she had the powers she was originally born with. Since Daphne was the eldest, as well as the Keeper of the Dragon Flame, she was the future Queen of Domino. She never went to Earth, never was found by Mike and Vanessa, and was never given Kiko. Nick didn't know Bloom's friends or her Alfea dorm. Aisha died the day the Winx were supposed to find her, which prompted Bloom to think that she was never sent to Alfea. If she never went to Alfea, she never would have founded the Winx. Stella in this world had become Queen of Solaria, as well as was already a wife and a mother.
All of the differences made her head spin and she was filled with worry. She had only been in this world for one day, yet everything was already so different. Her whole life was different. Bloom didn't want to think too much about any other areas of her life that would be affected by her wish – what she found out was enough already. Bloom didn't think she could handle anymore.
The princess knocked on the door to Mrs. Faragonda's office and waited to be welcomed.
"Come in!" a faint voice called from the other end. Bloom took a deep breath and pushed open the door. "Ah, Princess Bloom, what a pleasant surprise." Mrs. Faragonda sat behind her desk, a wide smile on her face.
"Mrs. F!" A wide smile spread across Bloom's face. "It is so good to see you." The Headmistress of Alfea looked younger than Bloom could ever remember. Her hair still had colour, she didn't wear her glasses, her eyes sparkled with life, her skin sported less wrinkles, and her attire was much brighter. She looked to be around her parents' ages, which made Bloom's heart hammer. The stress of losing Bloom's parents – Mrs. Faragonda's best friends – as well as not preventing the destruction of Domino must have really taken a toll on the woman. In this world, where those events never happened, she looked much healthier and younger.
"My dear, we had seen each other only yesterday!" Mrs. Faragonda laughed. Bloom's eyebrows pulled together, but she said nothing. Her parents must still be friends with the Headmistress. "And, Bloom, what is with the formalities?"
"Formalities?" Bloom echoed. "What do you mean, Mrs. Faragonda?"
"Bloom, you know to call me Thea." The princess almost fainted at that.
"Thea?" she repeated.
"Of course. That's what you've called me since you were a baby. You're not one of my students – no need for the title." Bloom's heart sunk. Her suspicion that she had never attended Alfea in this other life was true. All of the warnings her friends gave her before she made her wish were coming true – in this world, they didn't know each other. In this world, everything was different. Bloom only hoped her friends were also brought here with her. It would be the only thing that could save her. They would be able to work together to make things right.
"Of course. Sorry… Thea…" The words sounded strange on Bloom's tongue. She didn't even know Mrs. Faragonda's first name! Somehow, Thea sounded too young for her. Bloom rolled her eyes internally. Mrs. Faragonda's name didn't only sound younger – she looked younger. Somehow, Mrs. Faragonda was much younger than the woman Bloom knew in the other world.
"No need to be sorry, Bloom. Please, have a seat." Mrs. Faragonda gestured to the seat in front of her desk. Bloom quickly shut the door and made her way to sit. "Even though I merely seen you hours ago, I must say, I've been looking forward to talking to you again."
"Oh?"
"Your parents called me."
"Oh."
"They're worried about you," Mrs. Faragonda continued. Bloom rolled her eyes.
"Of course they are." Even though she was playing a cool and collected fairy on the outside, she was melting on this inside. Melting with fear and panic. Why hadn't she just pretended to be extra fine earlier!? Why did she have to be confused earlier!? Now, her family was reaching out to others. Darn her loving family. Darn them.
"Is there anything you want to talk about?" Mrs. Faragonda prompted. Bloom's heart stopped.
No. She wasn't ready to talk about anything. Not yet. Not with this woman.
"Actually, yes. There is something I want to talk about." Bloom wiped her hands on her jeans nervously, taking away the clammy feeling. Thinking fast, she decided to tell a lie to her headmistress. "I'm actually here to see a few fairies of yours."
"Oh." Mrs. Faragonda's smile slipped off her face, being replaced by a serious expression. "And what would you like with them?"
"Uhhh…" Bloom wiped her hands again on her jeans, whisking away the sweat. Her heart beat loudly in her ears. Was Mrs. Faragonda catching on to her lie?! Of course she was. She was Mrs. Faragonda, after all. "Well, I…" Bloom licked her lips. "Actually, Nick and I are doing a survey. Just a few questions for fairies from different planets. We're, uh, trying to see if the location of where you are born has any correlation to the strength of your powers." Mrs. Faragonda just lifted her thin eyebrow.
"Really?" Bloom nodded her head. "Well, I'm not going to say no, but I will suggest you find a better lie to tell next time."
"What!?" The princess' face lit up in a bright blush. "I wasn't-"
"I've known you since the moment you were born, Bloom, of course I know when you are lying." Bloom blushed even deeper. "Just promise me you won't cause any harm or trouble to these girls?"
"Of course, Mrs. Faragonda," Bloom promised. Once again, the Headmistress of Alfea raised an eyebrow. "Er – I mean Thea." The fairy just sighed.
"Somehow, I have a feeling something is going on with you, and it'll come back to bite me in the rear if I don't help you now…" Bloom cringed. What was she going to do? She felt so stupid for thinking she could just come up to an old family friend, not knowing anything about her alternate life, and not cause suspicion to rise.
"Mrs. Fa- Thea, don't-"
"But," the headmistress held up her hand, signaling Bloom to stop. "I am going to ignore it since I know you are a sensible young lady. Who are you looking for?"
"Thank you, Thea," the princess gasped. "I'm looking for three fairies." Bloom decided that she didn't need to ask about Stella, since she already knew of her whereabouts – it was not at Alfea. "Musa of Melody, Flora of Linphea, and Tecna of Zenith." Mrs. Faragonda sighed. She reached under her desk and pulled out a large binder. Hundreds of pages were in the binder.
"Let's see… Those names do sound familiar, but…" Her voice trailed off as she held her hands over the cover of the book. Pages flipped by themselves through the binder, finally closing in on itself. "I don't seem to have Musa of Melody in my records."
"Oh." Bloom's heart sunk. What had Musa done in this world? All she wished for was her mother to be kept alive – how could that have affected her decision to come to Alfea?
"But I do have a listing for Flora of Linphea," Mrs. Faragonda said after repeating the scanning process. "It says here that she applied five years ago and was accepted for that upcoming school year. She was a very good student. She never came back for her third and final year. It says here that she had family issues that kept her from returning." Bloom frowned.
"And Tecna?"
"I remember her. Let me just find the details." She flipped through a few more pages before coming to rest on a paragraph. "Ah, yes, I remember it now. She's a very bright student, one of the most promising Alfea has had. Her first year was the same first year as Flora of Linphea, but she did stay until the end of her program. Tecna actually had top marks of her incoming class, so her tuition was paid fully. She graduated two years ago, top of her class, which was not a surprise. Now, she is in the process of completing a graduate program through us in research."
"So, Tecna still goes to school here?" she asked hopefully. Mrs. Faragonda nodded her head.
"She does. She is in room 35A, if you are wanting to visit her." Bloom instantly jumped out of her seat, already heading towards the doors.
"Thank you, Thea!" Mrs. Faragonda waved and the princess exited her office. Bloom could hear the fairy sigh loudly and mutter things under her breath. Somehow, Mrs. Faragonda had become much more laid back in this timeline.
As soon as the doors were closed behind Bloom, she let out a deep breath of air she didn't know she was holding. That whole situation was extremely stressful and she was much to close to breaking her cover. How were her friends doing, if they were also in this world?
Bloom didn't want to think about the fact she could be trapped in the world alone. She didn't want to get caught up in horrible thoughts like that.
She had to stay positive.
She had to believe that her friends were here with her.
She had to believe they could either find a way out of this alternate world, or they could adapt to live in it. As long as they had each other, they could figure everything out.
The Domino princess didn't feel right walking through these halls. It felt as if she was somewhere where she didn't belong.
Nothing in her life felt right, actually. Not since she woke up that morning.
Too many things had gone wrong. What had her wished caused!? Why had she talked herself into wishing for something that would have caused so many ripples!? She was so stupid for not thinking it through. It was almost if nothing from her previous life was relevant in her alternate life.
What had all changed? Bloom rolled her eyes. It was easier to ask what didn't change.
All she could think about was how her life was falling apart, and she didn't know half of it. Her families were completely different, as was her schooling, powers, status, and friends. Bloom didn't even want to think about her other relationship, namely Sky. She was too scared.
Deep down, Bloom knew that everything would be different. Her heart was yearning and begging her not to give into logic – Sky had to still love her, her friends had to remember her, and everything would be right.
She knew that wouldn't be true.
In this life, she didn't have any friends.
In this life, she was the Princess of Domino; not Bloom of Earth. She wasn't all powerful and she wasn't the leader of the Winx Club. The Winx Club never existed in this timeline. No matter how painful that was for Bloom to admit, she would be stupid to keep pretending that everything was the same. Too many things were different in this world for the Winx Club to happen.
Bloom knew it was stupid to keep pretending that her life wasn't screwed up in this world. She knew it was. She knew this world was too different from her own.
Her heart hurt from the fact that everything was different here. She was in pain because she lost her sisters.
What else had changed?
Bloom had a feeling of lead growing in her stomach, but she didn't want to indulge in it. She couldn't focus on the feelings of despair growing in her.
The only thing keeping her going was hope. If she was brought to this other world, maybe her friends were as well. It only made sense to be that way.
It was hope that made her push all of her thoughts of fear away. She knew everything would be alright. She knew it would work out.
Mrs. Faragonda's words made her worried. Flora had dropped out of school? Musa had never attended Alfea? Bloom didn't even want to think about the truths she already knew about Stella.
How had the world changed so much?
Bloom finally reached the door to Tecna's dorm. She took a steading breath and knocked on the door.
A few seconds later, it opened to reveal her best friend.
"Oh!" Bloom gasped. Tecna raised her eyebrow and brushed her hair out of her face. She wore her purple hair just like she did when they were 16. It was paired with a long sleeved pale purple jumper, as well as lime green pants. Bloom smiled. Just like the Tecna she knew. "I've missed you, Tec!" Bloom smiled even wider and went in to capture a hug from the fairy.
"Uh." Tecna stepped away from the advancing red head, making a move to close the door. "I'm sorry, but do I know you?"
"Yes?" Bloom's face fell, along with her heart. Tecna didn't recognize her.
That meant…
Bloom was alone.
Bloom was alone in this world.
If Tecna didn't know who she was, everything was messed up.
"Oh. I'm sorry. I don't remember you. Have a good day." The door was flying towards Bloom's face.
"NO!" Bloom jammed her foot between the door and the frame, preventing it from shutting. Her heart was beating loudly in her chest. She was panicked, struggling to hold on to the hope that she recognized her. "Tecna, wait."
"That is not very nice of you," the technology fairy said, pointing to Bloom's foot. "How do you know my name?"
"You… You really don't remember me?" Bloom's heart was slowly breaking. Her hope was extremely strong, keeping the pieces from falling out completely.
"I'm sorry, ma'am, but I don't. Now, if you excuse me, I-"
"Who is at the door, Tec?" a new voice asked from behind the door. Bloom strained her neck to peer around the obstruction.
"Timmy!" Bloom called excitedly. The Specialist came to stand beside Tecna, pushing his glasses up the bridge of his nose.
"I'm sorry, but do I know you?" he questioned.
"That's what I've been asking," Tecna added.
Bloom felt numb.
"Oh, my goodness," Tecna gasped. "You're crying."
"Wha-" Bloom's hand flew to her cheek and quickly brushed away the tears. "I'm not – I mean, I – ugh – I - "
"Are you injured?" Tecna questioned, scanning over her body with her eyes.
"I don't see any blood."
"Nor do I, but, to be sure…" Tecna pulled a scanner out from her pocket and ran it along the red haired fairy's body. "Uhm. Nothing."
Things had gone too fast.
This wasn't right.
Her friends weren't with her in this world.
She was all alone.
She lost everything.
She lost everything.
"Why don't we send you to the infirmary? Just to be sure." Timmy pushed past Tecna and began guiding Bloom towards the medics. "Do you feel fine? Do you feel – HEY!"
Bloom had pulled out of Timmy's grip and was now bolting through the hallways of Alfea.
What had she done!?
I love how so many of you started freaking out about Nick due to my last author's note! I won't say anything just yet about his character, but I will let everyone know that he is a very important person for this whole story. I'll let your imaginations run with that... *evil laugh*
As I mentioned earlier, thank you so much to all of you that have read and (especially) to those that have reviewed. I appreciate each and every one of you! I can't believe there are a few of you that have been here since the beginning on this story (which was 3 years ago! YIKES!). A huge shout out to Smilewhenyoucan, AlexisPeany, alexaa1, mia, and Bloom! I can always count on each of you to leave a review on each of my chapters that brightens my day.
Reading any review makes me smile soooo much. I get the email alert and I break out into a smile. Even if these reviews are just single words - I love them! Feedback makes me grow as a writer and opinions/questions make me so happy to see some active readers. It doesn't take too long to leave a review and make my day. As you all know, reviews are my fuel! They encourage me to write faster and post earlier. Like I mentioned in other chapters, I accept any guest/anonymous reviews and do my best to reply to all reviews left from an account!
Thank you everyone! Hopefully I see you all in reviews!
Kisses,
Pawprinter
P.S. there is a poll on my profile! It is asking which category (ex. Winx Club, Harry Potter, etc) should I focus on most for my current and upcoming stories. Go vote on it to let me know!
