Cain Montero-12-District 4 - 2:20pm
I never thought I'd get Reaped, but here I am, on the train… to The Capitol… which is were the arena is… which is were I'll die. Huh, I never though what would happen if I got Reaped, I presumed I'd be much older, but here I am, going up against bloodthirsty eighteen-year-olds.
District 4 doesn't have a victor yet. I don't understand why; we've been in the Career Pack nine years in a row. I guess District 4 isn't a very trustworthy district, but a few of them have been fine.
I'm guessing I'll die, but Seraph might win. You never know what will happen, it's the Hunger Games for goodness sake, everybody except one could get mauled by a wolf mutt on the second day.
Sparklina Yeresrital-15-District 5 - 2:30pm
I've pretty much given up trying to use my fire to escape the train. The walls, floor and ceiling are all fireproof apparently. I'm basically just thrashing all over the place right now.
"Sparklina, be dear and calm down." Maveri says politely.
I ignore her, I just want to go home but nothing's working.
"Sparklina? Sparklina! You're ruining the cakes! Oh, you've got it all over yourself!" Maveri yells.
"Could I excuse myself to the other room?" Elos asks.
"Go on then." Maveri says calmly. "Honestly Sparklina, what's wrong."
"I just want to go home to Wyatt and his parents." I yell before flipping over the cake table, the cakes fly everywhere and quite a few of them land on Maveri. In anger, I stomp off to my dorm.
Carter Freightman-15-District 6 - 5:35pm
I wake up from my nap. I'm still on the train to The Capitol. I check the clock. 5:35pm, I guess I should go and get dinner.
I quickly go to the bathroom and wash my face before going to dinner. I still have my filthy, beige clothes on when I walk into the room were the meals are set up so Delilan, District 6's escort, forces me to get into fully white clothes.
The food is oddly nice, I'm half way through a leg of a chicken, whatever that is. Before that I had a creamy lime coloured soup which I wished I tried ages before. When I finished the leg, I kind of feel full already, but there's still so much food to try. Delilan looks pretty full so I watch what she does. Eventually she takes a sip of a pink liquid that makes her run to the bathroom and presumably throw up, then she starts eating more.
I've lost my appetite, so I just sip some more soup and go to bed after that. I do grab a drink of orange juice though, but I'm starting to think maybe I picked up the pink throw up drink because I feel sick. Maybe it's homesickness though.
Azula Bartleby-14-District 7 - 3:00pm
I don't know what's happening to be honest. I think Barkin is giving Daxton advice on the Games, I'm not sure though. I don't now where Saidy is. She's District 7's… esorc? ecsort? Oh yeah, escort. Saidy is District 7's escort.
Suddenly a screen in front of me turns on. It says 'Reaping Recap' on it. I think that it shows you who your up against in the Games.
First, it shows District 1. There is a twelve-year-old boy that volunteers for some reason, and the usual eighteen-year-old girl, but she looks a lot stronger than the ones in previous years. I know this because sometimes I go into the Square when there's commotion. It's mostly riots but sometimes it's the Reaping and I see what the tributes look like.
Next is District 2. A sixteen-year-old girl from District 2 volunteers, she's unusual though, she looks unprepared. An eighteen-year-old boy is Reaped next. He plays pranks whilst he's still at District 2.
After that is District 3, the sixteen-year-old boy looks ok other than he panics when he's reaped. But the girl a different story. When she is reaped she shows no emotion, she just walks up to the stage.
Blaine Ezra-16-District 8 - 3:03pm
The pair from District 4 appear next the girl is a confident looking seventeen-year-old that volunteers for a girl, Susy Otero I think. The boy is yet another twelve-year-old that's reaped, odd. I think I can tell neither of them where supposed to be there.
Then the District 5 tributes appear, the fourteen-year-old boy looks surprisingly healthy for a boy from District 5, his family must be decently rich. Then the fifteen-year-old girl appears. She must be or something like that because she tries to set fire to the stage by simply pointing her hands at it, I can tell she won't make it far into the Games.
District 6 provides its normal bunch of tributes, maybe they have a shot because they're slightly older than usual? I don't know.
District 7 provides an eighteen-year-old orphan boy who volunteers for his brother and a younger girl who as far as I can tell everyone else in District 7 doesn't know exists.
Then comes horrible District 8, my district. Dash does his freezing thing and I walk to the stage volunteering for Rosie looking far more confident than I thought, I think tributes might actually be scared of me, or they'll want to ally with me. 50/50.
After that District 9 appears. A homeless girl is reaped. She is followed by a rich looking boy.
Tony Patterson-17-District 9 – 3:09pm
After me, the District 10 tributes appear. The girl looks like she'll get quite far, a good one to ally with, maybe? No, I won't bother making allies. Then the boy appears, he is basically the opposite of his district partner, he doesn't look like he'll make it very far. I can tell he likes her by the way he looks at her.
Then District 11 appears. It's similar to District 2. A sixteen-year-old girl and an eighteen-year-old boy. The girl seems quite sweet and the boy, he seems like someone to look out for in the arena.
Finally, District 12 appears. The mayor's son gets reaped, he seems to have no clue what's happening or what the Hunger Games even is. Then the girl volunteers for someone. The nation anthem plays, and the screen goes blank.
There would be a District 13, but that was obliterated over a decade ago, no-one left alive. Omar Harfeild, the District 9 tributes' mentor, thinks that people in District 13 are alive. I think that it's impossible, but I won't tell him that. He plays a critical role in life and death in the arena, so I don't want to get on his bad side.
Amos James-15-District 10 – 4:00pm
What's my Dad going to do without me? He could run JAK on his own, he won't survive if I die in the arena. I'm fifteen, I have a shot at winning. No, I won't win; District 1 and District 4 must be dying for another victor, literally. But if I get a high enough score or come up with a way to trap them or kill them quickly, I could do it. Ugh, why can't I decide!
"I feel sick." I say sadly.
"Homesick." Angus agrees.
Then I have an idea.
"Why don't we just not go to The Capitol." I ask.
"That's illegal." Samla, District 10's mentor says.
"But we- "I say before being interrupted by Samla.
"Amos, no! The Capitol doesn't play fair, you don't see any children from there going into the arena, do you? Oh, that reminds me, most people don't play fair in the arena either! Some do, but they usually die. Only a few have won, for example: me, Rosemary from District 11 and Omar from District 9. We weren't useless, but we weren't bloodthirsty killers." Samla shouts.
Tears emerge from the corner of my eyes; I hate it when adults shout at me.
"Look, I'm sorry. I just want to go home as well." Samla says, calmer this time.
Ket Dunmore-18-District 11 – 4:22pm
"2 hours, 7 minutes on this stupid train." Leilani or as she calls herself, Lani says.
She's been doing this every minute since we got on the train.
"Could you please stop." I say to her.
She just groans and walks out of the room, presumably to her bedroom. She'll be back by dinner.
Kane, District 11's escort, is asleep in Rosemary's homemade groosling she had made for him.
"I may as well give you advice whilst you're still on the train and not in the tube rising up into the arena." Rosemary says, trying to brighten the mood.
"Yeah." I reply.
She's starting to figure out that I don't talk much.
"Right, when you enter the arena, wait a minute or your legs will get blown off, literally. You can use this time to take in your surroundings. When the gong rings, only go to the Cornucopia if you get a decently high score, try to make yourself known, make the other tributes know your not weak. Don't make allies, trust me, I know. The more people you know, the more depressed you get when they die. Later on in the Games, only go to the feast if you desperately need something, when there are four tributes left, head to the Cornucopia, the Finale will happen when there are three or four tributes left. When the Finale is happening, don't attack first, you'll draw attention, attacking last is much better." Rosemary told me. "That's all I have to say."
Cherry Seasons-16-District 12 – 8:00pm
"We should go to bed now." Clovis, the escort in District 12 says. "We have a long day tomorrow."
"Yeah, I guess." I reply.
"What are we doing, like why do we have to go on a train to play a game?" Ashton, my district partner asks.
"Ashton, you're absolutely useless." Rocky, District 12's only victor says.
"You can't say anything, Rocky. You just hid at the back of the Cornucopia with all the food the entire Games and waited for everyone to die of hunger." I shout to him truthfully.
"Off to bed now." Clovis says.
"But seriously though, it's just a board game or something." Ashton says.
"Ashton! It's not a board game!" I yell.
Suddenly everyone starts shouting and fighting.
"OFF TO BED!" shouts Clovis in a very loud voice.
"Fine!" I shout before stomping off to my dorm.
A/N Things don't look good in most of the districts, particularly District 5 and District 12. I'll try to update as much as I can, I got a new laptop.
:D
See you next week (probably)
