AN Important: So in my headcanon Snow and Charming name their baby Evan, after Snow's mother, and not Emma's ex-boyfriend who got her pregnant and sent to jail, and who is also over 300yrs old. Because that's just weird.

Now read on.

Regina wasn't the only person to turn at the exclamation, nor was she the one to chuckle at the sight of Emma wiping off chip remnants and flinging them back to her father. It took her a moment, or two, of staring at the blonde before she realised Charming was looking at her. The wide-eyed shock that began morphing into a glare was enough to turn her right back around. Seemed like the cat was out of the bag.

"Christ, David!" Emma grumbled picking up a wad of napkins and cleaning off her hands. The smatterings of chip on her jacket were the least of her worries now. "I know you were a shepherd but you must have learnt to keep food in your mouth, at least."

"You caught me by surprise!" He argued turning back to his daughter. He ran a hand over his face before staring her down. "Now, please tell me that was a joke."

"God, I wish." Emma moaned waving away Ruby's concern with a friendly smile. "I fucked up big time."

"You don't say." David sighed falling back into the booth as people started to look away. "Marriage? Regina? I didn't even know you guys were dating."

"We're not. I mean, we weren't."

David lower lip jutted out as his brow creased in thought. "Okay, you've lost me."

"I kinda, accidentally, fully not on purpose, married us with bracelets I found in Gold's shop." Emma sighed reaching across for a chip so as to give them both a reprieve from any rambling she would no doubt launch into.

"Well… shit." David finished lamely.

"My thoughts exactly." Emma said meeting his eyes with a small smile. She sighed. "I just- I don't know how to fix this."

"Need me to talk to Gold? Blue Fairy? Anyone?"

"Nah, I'm good. But thanks. You know," Emma began watching him closely. "You're taking this really well. Apart from the chip splatter, that is."

"I think I'm still in shock." David said rubbing the back of his neck as he glanced at Regina taking in the tense shoulders and steely posture. "You could do worse."

"That's all you have to say?" Emma asked incredulously. She began to worry at the smile forming on his face as he looked back.

"Could be Leroy." He stated. His grin widened at her shudder. "Oh, what if it was Whale?"

"Oh god. Stop."

"No, Sidney. Can you imagine?" He shuddered himself. "Could have been a lot worse. At least you know Regina isn't gonna take advantage of you."

"It's not her taking advantage that I'm worried about." Emma mumbled into her hands. Her head shot up as David's jaw dropped. "That's-No. Not what I meant."

"Emma Swan." He said slowly. "Maybe you do belong on that naughty step."

"Oh shut up." She said hiding her smile behind her hands. She was glad David had stopped trying to parent her. Snow was having a harder time halting her motherly instincts but Emma didn't mind. To her that was exactly what Mary Margaret did, and she wouldn't have it any other way now. "How's Evan doing?"

"He's good. Keeping your mother and I on our toes." Emma finally paid attention to the new lines on his face and the bags under his eyes.

"If you guys want a full night's sleep I'm happy to take him. You know he likes me better."

David laughed. "I don't know how you do it, but he really does. And if you're not carefully we'll take you up on the offer."

"I wasn't kidding. You look like you need a break. I'd just have to ask Regina first."

"Why?" David asked slowly.

"Oh, side effect of the marriage thing. We can't be too far apart otherwise we get raging headaches. So I'll probably be bunking at the mansion till we sort this out."

"If you need help with this situation, I'm here."

"I know." Emma said grabbing his hand from across the table. "Thank you."

Regina could here the mumblings of conversation from the Charming's, and try as she might she couldn't hear a word of what they were saying. Though it did say a lot that she was still sitting on her stool with her head on shoulders.

"Hey, Regina." Ruby said with a small smile that began to fade as her eyes darted continuously over Regina's shoulder.

"You can hear them, can't you?" Regina whispered with a sigh. Her marriage wouldn't stay quiet for long. At least Emma hadn't told Snow. The woman would've shouted the news to the entire diner in shock. All David had done was spit chips on his daughter.

Ruby nodded and turned her eyes back to the woman before her. "You want your usual?"

Regina watched the werewolf closely as she betrayed no thoughts to what she could hear being discussed behind them. "Yes, and Henry's as well if you don't mind."

Ruby nodded as she filled out an order slip. "Does he know?" She kept her eyes on the pad, tapping her pen against it softly.

"Not yet."

Ruby nodded, moving away to hand the slip to the chef before coming back. "If you need someone…"

"Thank you." Regina whispered knowing the wolf would hear her loud and clear. Regina twirled the mug Ruby placed down in front of her. She had barely turned at the chiming of the bell when arms wrapped around her waist

"Hey, mom." Henry said with bright grin. Regina smiled back as he brushed his hair from his eyes.

"We need to get you a haircut." She said. He rolled his eyes as he picked up the mug of cocoa from the counter.

"Thanks, Ruby." He said taking a sip. "And no, mom. This is called fashion." He dramatically ran a hand through his hair.

Regina smiled into her coffee. She hummed noncommittally while mentally picking a date for the hair cut.

"How were things at Gold's? Find any cool stuff?" He spun toward her, eyes eager to learn all she knew.

"Well… it was eventful to say the least." She answered as her eyes trailed over to Emma and Charming who were gesturing wildly and laughing. Henry followed her eyes.

"What did she do?"

At the moment Regina opened her mouth to speak Emma caught her eye and shot her warm smile. Turning back to her son she decided to bite the bullet.

"Emma married us."

Regina was not prepared for the spray of cocoa she received from her son. Although after what she had witnessed before it seemed to be genetic.

"What?!"

AN: Slowly but surely we're getting there. Also it is nearing exam time so you may have to wait a while. But it'll be worth it!
