Many people saw the two white haired boys that Sunday. One with pure white hair and a sweet smile, the other had some black hair as well as white with a blank expression. Girls would whisper about them. They seemed like one of those delinquent kind of guys. They were cute, that was until one mounted a regular bicycle and the other sat in the basket in front, peddling away. The pure white haired one laughing the whole way down the street.

The running test came up quickly. Tohru had expected Zu to be as lazy about this as everything else, but instead she seemed excited.

"I don't do it much, but I DO like running," she explained. "I'm planning on seeing if I can catch up to yuki and kyo if the boys start first" Zu sipped her tea. She seemed to be in a very calm mood. It was true that Zu's mood swings could extremely change her personality, but for some reason that made her unique. Tohru liked this nice, calm Zu, but she also liked the kind Zu, and the more hyper Zu that appeared rarely every once and a while. Why, just yesterday Zu had come bounding through the door screaming at the top of her lungs "THE ORANGE PANDA BURPED A RAINBOW ON MY BURITO!" over and over again, and when yuki had asked Zu, in a slightly annoyed tone, why she was doing this, her answer was "It was too quiet".

Zu really was like a cat in that way, playful and energetic one second, lazy and emotionless the next, and before you can blink she becomes so friendly that you can hardly get rid of her. If you wanted to that is. But that was beside the point.

The point was that the running test was coming up, and that was how quite a bit of drama started for poor Tohru and for Zu as well.

At the moment though Kyo and yuki were fighting in front of the store while Zu looked on, unimpressed.

"WIPE THAT STUPID SMIRK OFF YOUR FACE YA DAMN RAT OR I'LL MAKE YOU SAY YOU'RE SORRY!"

"I'm sorry," stated Yuki coolly.

"SHUT UP!" screamed kyo getting annoyed so much so it seemed cat ears appeared on his head "YOU'RE A REAL WISE ASS YA KNOW THAT?!"

"At least I'm not the noisy idiot who's causing a seen in front of the store."

"OH YOU'VE DONE IT NOW GIRLY BOY! WE'RE TAKING THIS OUTSIDE!" screamed kyo, rolling up his sleeve.

"We are outside you stupid cat." Came yuki's reply.

"Yuki, we went over this, 'stupid cat' refers to me too," said Zu eating what seemed to be seaweed on a stick.

"My apologies Zu, I did not mean for you to be grouped in with idiots like him."

"Sorry I took so long," said Tohru coming out of the store.

"Oh, miss Honda. Find everything you needed ok?" asked Yuki pleasantly.

"uh… yep," said Tohru noticing that dark aura surrounding Kyo who was now trying to be calmed down by Zu.

The walk home was just a continuation of the fight at the store for Kyo and Yuki and ended when both Yuki and Zu, fed up with Kyo's screaming, shoved a leak into his mouth, making him pass out.

"Who's next into the shower?" sang shigure "Yuki?"

"I think I'll skip today," said Yuki.

Zu turned to face Yuki in surprise.

"HOW COULD YOU BE SO DIRTY?!" asked Shigure dramatically.

"For once I would like to knock him through the roof," muttered Yuki.

Zu stood up from her place on the floor reading the second book of the inheritance cycle and looked at Yuki in the eye. "Are you feeling ok Yuki?" she asked.

"well… no." said Yuki "I think I might be coming down with a cold."

"Oh no that's terrible!" said Tohru. She leaned forward and put her hand to Yuki's head "You do have a bit of a fever."

(Zu smirked at Yuki's blush)

"Well it is best to treat these things early on," said Zu standing up.

"Yes," agreed shigure "You know, eat soup, get rest, take medicine. Zu, I believe I have just the thing for him in the closet, could you go get it for me?"

"Sure thing shi," said Zu leaving the room.

"Maybe you should stay home from school tomorrow," Tohru commented.

"No, I'll be fine," said Yuki.

"Are you sure, we need to do our endurance run after all tomorrow."

It was then that Kyo made quite a dramatic entrance. "endurance run huh?" Said Kyo a mad gleam in his eyes.

"Yes," said Zu appearing behind him with a bottle of medicine. "You didn't know?"

"The endurance run, a set distance, a certain time to beat, in other words….. IT'S A RACE!"

Zu face planted into the table.

"ALRIGHT RAT BOY! TOMMOROW WE'RE GONNA FIND OUT WHO'S THE BEST!" said Kyo fire blazing in his eyes.

"Uh kyo? Yuki is starting to come down with a cold. So….." began tohru.

"So then you better give him something to eat and put him to bed, because he's not getting out of this one."

Zu began to bang her head repeatedly on the table.

"I'm gonna crush you rat boy!" Bang went Zu's head "And don't think that just cause you're sick I'm gonna go easy on you!" Bang. "I'm finally gonna beat you at something!" Bang. "And there ain't nothing you can do about it!" Bang.

When Kyo left Zu sat up and rubbed her head. "Look what he made me do," she said turning to Tohru so show her the red mark now on her head.

On the morning of the running test it started out as expected. Uo wasn't there, most likely ditching, yuki was there despite his still present illness, Zu seemed bored to all heaven, instead opting to eat her dango at the far corner of the girls pack, listening halfheartedly to some girl who she talked to in class, and kyo was taunting yuki, once again, despite his still present, though not so apparent, illness.

The girls were up first, when they were told they could go Zu bolted away faster than Tohru thought a lazy girl like Zu could go.

"Let's do our best, for Uo," said Tohru to Hana.

"Alright," said Hana "I've never been very good at running but I will try my hardest."

After the first few steps Hana let out a groan and fell to the ground.

"Tohru I'm sorry. I…. can't run….. anymore." Said Hana landing on her hands and knees. "I've done my best but now I've reached the edge of my limits. Run on without me! And don't worry; I'll be right behind you the whole time. Only…. Walking."

It was a very dramatic sight.

"Walk, crawl, I don't care miss Hana, just start." Said the proctor.

It wasn't very long before Tohru caught up with Zu, she was walking now, haven proven herself in the speed department she had decided to wait for kyo and yuki and join their race, so Tohru ran on. It wasn't that far up the road where Tohru saw a figure, laying in the grass with white hair.

'is that an old man who fell down?' thought tohru. "Uh sir? Are you ok?" she asked running up to the man. The man turned and Tohru experienced a shock, the "old man" must have only been her age. "Oh I'm sorry! I thought you were an old man! Not that you look like and old man I just saw the white hair and thought-"

"Do you know of a place called Sohma house?" asked the white haired teen.

"Sohma house? Would you be a Sohma then?"

"So you know it then?"

"Yes, yes I'm so pleased to meet you I-"

It was just about then that Yuki and Kyo were running down the street at break neck speed, passing every boy and some girls, even Zu who decided she didn't want to join after all and just jogged behind them.

The white haired boy looked up.

"What is it?" asked Tohru.

"He's coming." The boy tied a rope to a post at the other end of the street and then walked back to where he had been holding on to the other end of the rope.

Kyo and Yuki came running down the street, kyo gaining the lead, when the teen yanked the rope, tightening it, causing Kyo to trip and face plant into the ground.

"Got him," muttered the teen.

"Kyo?! Are you hurt?!" asked Tohru rushing forward.

"WHAT THE HELL WERE YOU DOING?! DAMN IT! I WAS WINNING AND EVERYTHING!" screamed the irritated and bruised cat.

"If I had been fair to you I wouldn't have stopped now would you?" asked the teen.

"Haru?" asked Yuki shocked.

"By the way," said Haru turning around "What I just did is very dangerous and if it had been anyone other than kyo they would have been badly hurt so don't try this at home."

"DON'T TRY THIS HERE!" raged kyo "AND WHO THE HELL ARE YOU TALKING TO?!"

"There you are!" said a male voice not too far away. There stood another teen Tohru's age, maybe older He had on a black and white striped top and two spiked collar cuffs with dark jeans. "I've been looking all over for you Haru!"

"It's a regular family reunion isn't it?' muttered Yuki.

"Tohru, This Is Hatsuharu Sohma," said Yuki pointing to the first white haired boy. On closer inspection Tohru noticed the black hair below the white hair he had a blank expression. Then Yuki pointed to the other boy with white hair, who was smiling cheerily "That is Shinzo Sohma"

"Yo," Shinzo greeted.
'Shinzo….." Thought Tohru 'I feel like I've heard that name before….'

"It's nice to meet you" Tohru bowed

"What are you two doing here?" asked Yuki.

"Well," began Haru "I left on Sunday to come visit you, but I got swept up into the wild jungles of the city and it took me three days to get out and find you."

"Why not just say you got lost?" asked yuki.

"And you?" asked Kyo still grumpy.

"I went with Haru to try to make sure he WOULDN'T get lost, but we got separated, been looking for him ever since. I had a feeling when I saw your school doing their endurance test Haru would come here." Said Shinzo laughing slightly, rubbing the back of his head.

He seemed like a nice person. Tohru was still trying to find out where she heard his name before when Zu showed up.

"Eh! Kyo! Why did you and yuki st-"she stopped talking, frozen when she noticed Shinzo.

Shinzo stiffened too, but only for a second before relaxing and smiling "Hi Zu," he greeted.

Zu was quite, staring in shock.

That was when Tohru remembered where she had heard the name Shinzo before, it was when Zu and Otsuki had been talking. Otsuki started to bring him up but Zu cut her off. 'he was the problem in the first place' she had said. Tohru remembered what Shigure had said about Zu and Otsuki's friendship 'well, Zu just so happened to fall for a boy, that Otsuki just so happened to fall for as well. That's about the whole story' was this boy the one Zu had been thinking of when she had said those words to Tohru? The words that still sometimes rang in Tohru's ear? She had said them so beautifully, the wind had brushed her hair out of her face and some flower petals had floated up from the trees and Zu gave a sad smile that Tohru had never seen the likes of.

"Have you ever been in love?"
