Ending the Fellowship of the Ring
I've come pretty far. When I was writing the last few chapters with death and emotions and love I realized, "hey, this is my story. It's about sacrifices and emotional struggles and irrational fears and how these characters break from their tradition."
It's not "Oh, look, a Mary Sue, she's going to fall in love and be useless." NO. It's about how a Mary Sue doesn't always have to follow traditions, can truly fall in love and can make a worthy sacrifice for the better.
And with Ruth, it's not "look how helpless she is, she's going to stay alive and be a total Mary Sue." NO! Sure, she's helpless in the beginning but she's grown quite a lot. One day, that day of Gandalf's death, something inside her snapped and she knows just as well as we do that Middle Earth isn't a happy-ever-after creator. The only way she's going to survive is if she's there for herself.
The Two Towers is mostly going to be focused on Ruth's life in the modern world and her past in it.
Now, it's time for where every good author does something a little extra!
Ruth and Legolas were walking, not romantically, just walking. They were talking about nature.
"No- the squirrel bit me." Ruth told him.
"Maybe nature doesn't like you." Legolas shrugged.
"Easy to say Mr. Green." Ruth commented.
Legolas shoved her lightly, causing her to stumble over a rock and into the pond that was thankfully deep enough for her to not crack her skull open. That doesn't mean she could swim that great or anything.
"I CAN'T SWIM YOU IDIOT!" Ruth screamed, going under.
Legolas dove into the pool and dragged her out, Ruth was clutching something tightly in her hand.
"What is that?" Legolas pointed to the, surprisingly, dry piece of paper.
"I don't know you idiot!" Ruth snapped. "I just grabbed it." She unfolded the paper. "It says… hm. Weird. Okay, it says, to my lovely readers. Thank you for reading Everything Wrong with Your Favorite Elf Prince! Weird, wonder what that is, I want to give a shout out to: damn that's a long list. Shut up and don't interrupt.

Maidens and Mayhem in Middle-earth
"Well, that's not crazy at all," said Legolas.
"Not one little bit," replied Ruth, grinning.
"You dove into a lake for, "shout outs", as you call them?" Legolas asked.
"You shoved me into a lake for the authoress' purpose." Ruth corrected.
"And you're breaking the fourth wall right now?" Legolas asked.
"We've been breaking Legomancer's hearts and destroying the sane people's sanity, I think the walls can be broken a little." Ruth smiled.
"Lego-mancers?" Legolas asked, confused.
"The hot steamy romance all perverted chicks dream about you and their Mary Sue characters." Ruth summed.
"Ew." was all Legolas had to say.
"They want us to get in action." Ruth grinned.
"What does that mean?"
"It means kiss." She rolled her eyes, as if it was obvious.
"I would not kiss you." Legolas shook his head.
"I'm not THAT bad!" Ruth cried out indignantly.
"Yes, I do believe you are." Legolas grimaced.
"You've never even kissed me." Ruth pointed out.
"And I hope I never will fall under the misfortune to." Legolas pointed out blatantly.
"Kiss me." Ruth said.
"NO!" Legolas cried out.
"You'll never know how bad I am until you kiss me!".
"I will not kiss you!"
"KISS ME YOU FOOL!"
