Arthur was sitting in the cell. He had been yelling for at least an hour but he knew he could nothing than wait for the guards to get him or something else to happen. Arthur knew Charles had hurt Merlin and he would anything to kill that monster. Arthur truly hoped that Merlin was okay, though he knew he wasn't. He also hoped that Morgana would see in her dreams what was going on. Charles would properly not contract his father so his sister was his only chance.
Please Morgana…help us…
He heard someone coming. Arthur stood up and then saw Charles coming. He stopped in front of the cell.
"You really shouldn't had touched him…" Charles said low.
Arthur glared at him.
"You listen to me,if you hurt him, I will do anything to kill you" Arthur said deadly "the only thing I did to Merlin was to show him what love is! Merlin has been forced to feel disgusted by himself because you have been raping him over and over! You're monster. Merlin is innocent, he had never hurt anyone, why do this to him!?" Arthur yelled.
The king chuckle.
"No you listen to me prince Arthur…I own Merlin, he is nothing but a little toy. You should get used to it, I will let you be in this cell for sometime, then you think about all the pain Merlin is going to get…because you couldn't let him be…".
Arthur shook his head slowly.
He couldn't let Merlin get hurt, he needed to save him.
He watched Charles walk away.
"Charles! Come back here!" Arthur demanded but, the king didn't come back.
"Father!".
The king turned around to see his son running to him.
"Edmund…".
Edmund ran to him.
"What the hell is going on? I have been told that Arthur is arrested and no one than you is allowed in Merlin's chamber…".
Edmund was confused, he had come back from a patrol to see Hanne running to him. She had told worried that Arthur had been arrested and when she went to Merlin's chamber, there was two guards outside telling her that only the king was allowed to enter. Edmund of course had an idea what had happen but, he hoped that he was wrong.
"Prince Arthur is arrested because he has been involved with Merlin…" the king replied calm.
Edmund acted surprised.
"I didn't know…" he lied, no matter what it wouldn't help to say that he knew it. It would properly get worse.
"What are you going to do?" Edmund asked afraid that he would kill Arthur.
"Arthur will be in the cell to I find out the punishment and Merlin will be in his room and only I can enter" the king explained and then began to walk. Edmund walked after him.
"But father…can't we just not forget all about this?" he asked, "let Arthur go home and forgive Merlin, he know surly now that it was a mistake…" Edmund said, walking right beside him father.
"No Edmund…Merlin knew from the start that it was forbidden for him to get involved with someone and I am sure that Arthur knew it to, now I don't want to talk about this now" the king replied cold.
Edmund nodded.
"Yes sire…" he said and then they spilt up.
Edmund walked inside his chamber and got shocked by Hanne who ran to him.
"Hanne, what are you doing inside my chamber?" Edmund asked confused.
She looked down for a moment and then met his eyes once again.
"Have you talked with your father about Merlin and Arthur?" she asked.
"Yes…he refused to let them go" Edmund said.
Hanne bit her lip, she had no idea that Arthur and Merlin was involved, when she found out she was shocked but also understanding. Arthur and Merlin were perfect together, she had seen them together and for the first time she had seen Merlin smile happily, there was no fake smile. When Merlin was with Arthur he was happy. Hanne knew that Merlin and her used to hate each other but now Hanne knew that they both understood each other and she knew that their relationship has changed to something better. With time she was sure that they would be good friends.
She had the feeling that she had to help them, had to help them so they could be together but she knew that Charles would never let Merlin go with Arthur. For Charles Merlin was his and no one else and that would only change if Charles would die but the man was healthy he had many years left.
Hanne knew that Edmund would be a much better king than Charles and she knew that Edmund would let Merlin go, let him be free.
"We have to do something" Hanne said firmly.
Edmund sighed.
"How? My father will never let Merlin go and if Arthur is lucky he will be banish instead of death" Edmund replied.
Hanne glared at him. She walked over to him.
"Take yourself together! You are the prince of Edinburgh, you should not give up like this! Merlin is maybe not your real brother but he is your half brother and right now he needs your help, Arthur has been your friend since you were kids, Don't you dare give up!" Hanne cried.
Edmund glared back.
"Why is it that you have changed so suddenly?! Before you hated Merlin and now you want to help him!".
"Merlin and I have more in common than you think" Hanne answer calming.
Edmund frowned.
"In common? What should that be?".
Hanne hesitated, she had only told Merlin about her father. Should she really tell Edmund about her past? She took a deep breath, she knew what she had to do.
"When I was little…my father ra-raped me every night to my mother kick me out because my father would rather be with me than her" Hanne said.
"Oh…".
Edmund looked down for a moment and then found her eyes again.
"I'm sorry…".
Hanne shook her head.
"Don't be…" she said.
Hanne did everything not cry and she had so far not let a tear fall.
"Well,I am...you deserved more than being threaten like that" Edmund said.
Hanne couldn't stop a single tear running down her chin.
"Is nothing next to how much Merlin had suffered and I am so ashamed how I threaten him…I guess I let all my anger on Merlin".
Edmund looked down again. He had no idea that Hanne's father had done that to her. He had thought her childhood had been normal, with a father and a mother whom was kind to her but he should had guessed that was not the case. He knew all the whores had never wanted to be what they were, they was mostly forced to it because they have no money so to get some they would sell their body out.
Edmund looked up to see Hanne looking now sobbing.
"Hanne...look at me" he said.
She just shook her head.
He took his hand under her chin, forced her to look up. Tears was all over her face, he gentle took them away with his other hand.
"I know that Merlin had forgiven you, so stop doing this to yourself" he said and then took his hand down.
Hanne nodded and then wiped the last of her tears away.
"How do we help them?" she asked.
He sighed, thinking.
"We could contract King Uther" he said, "but I'm afraid it would take too long".
Hanne nodded.
"Isn't there away to contract them faster than a letter?" she asked.
He shook his head, "then we can only hope that Morgana had dreamed this, she is a seer after all".
Hanne nodded, "but there is a chance she hadn't, so we need another plan" she said.
Edmund began to patch around in the room. Thinking hard and then stopped.
"I don't know, you?".
She just shook her head.
He groaned, "we need to talk to Merlin or Arthur" he said.
She nodded, "Arthur is properly the easiest to get too" she said, "I can talk with the guards I'm sure they will let us though".
There was a benefit to be a whore, especially when it came to get pass guards.
"Are you sure you can do that?" he asked.
She gave him a stern look.
"Positive" she said, "when do you go?".
"It's better to wait to tonight, then there is a bigger chance we won't get seen by my father" he said.
She nodded, "we will meet here when the sun is down" she said.
"Okay, see you later".
She nodded and then walked out the chamber.
Merlin had finally stopped crying. He was lying on the bed with a empty look there was locked on the wall. He couldn't stop thinking about Arthur, would Charles hurt him? Execute him without Uther knowing? No he wasn't stupid he would end up going to war with the other King and he couldn't risk that. He slowly sat up, it still hurt. A lot but he had learned to ignore the pain though the years. He looked out the window, darkness would soon come over the land. He sighed and then took the covers more around him, his whole body hurt though the worst pain was in his heart. Arthur would maybe die and he would never see the man he love anymore.
Merlin knew Charles wound't execute him. Charles needed him to give him the pleasure he needed. It sicken Merlin just to think about it. He looked at the chains on his wrists, there was already bruises from them, properly because he had tried to get them off since Charles put them on. He needed to see Arthur, to see if he was alright. He longed after him more than ever. He had no idea what he would had been doing right now if he had never met the other prince, properly under Charles
He felt a tear run down at the sad truth. Arthur was the reason he had started to fight back against the King. He was the reason that he finally found some reason to live again. Arthur was the first person to give him love and now he would maybe never see the prince again. He remembered their first kiss, he couldn't help but smile at that memory but it fainted fast. What if the only thing he would have a Arthur was memories? No he couldn't let that happened, he needed to get out of here. Fast.
Arthur sat down on the cold stone ground in the disgusting cell. He couldn't get the image of Merlin in pain out of his head, he could just imagine Charles hurt him just like he saw that night. He let his head fall back against the wall. Would he die? Would Charles really kill him? He was properly tempted by it, killing the man there had been involved with not only the prince of Edinburgh but also his toy as Charles called him.
Arthur eyes harden, Merlin was differently not a toy! He was a human being there needed to feel love and Arthur made sure of that. He sighed but the frowned when he heard someone come near. He stood up ready to face Charles but it wasn't Charles there came. It was Edmund and Hanne, they ran to his cell.
"You okay?" Edmund asked.
"Define okay, then I will answer" Arthur replied.
Edmund gave him a stern look.
"Merlin?" Arthur asked.
Edmund and Hanne shared a glance.
"Charles have him locked inside his room, no one but him can enter" Edmund finally answered.
It didn't really surprise Arthur that Charles did that but he had hoped they had seen Merlin so they could have giving him a better answer.
"What happened Arthur?" Edmund asked.
Arthur just shook his head.
"I don't know, I just suddenly heard Merlin's scream and before I knew it was grabbed by some guards and ended in this cell" Arthur said, "there was no way someone could had found out about us, we were careful".
"Someone must have found out since father found out, you have been on a picnic with Merlin right?" he asked.
Hanne stood in the background and let the man talk, she didn't knew Arthur so she thought she would stay behind them a little bit.
"Yes, we were but no one saw us" Arthur reassured.
"Unless father had asked someone to look after Merlin" Edmund said.
Arthur understood his meaning but he hadn't seen a soul beside Merlin and him in the forest.
"But who?" Arthur asked.
Edmund thought about it. His father had many spies but against Arthur was a skilled hunter so it must had been one there could make himself invisible. His eyes went wide.
"It can only be him!" Edmund spat.
Arthur eyes wide at Edmund's suddenly change.
"Who?" this time Hanne asked.
She walked over to them and looked at her prince, Edmund looked back at her.
"Frederick" he said, "his my father spy, he sees everything he wants to see and he is almost invisible".
Arthur frowned.
"So Charles made this Frederick spy on Merlin?" he asked.
Edmund nodded.
"Yes and for the right money he would do it".
Arthur sighed, they really should had been more careful.
"I think I remember him now, a scary type" Hanne said.
Edmund nodded.
"Year, he would even kill an innocent for money" Edmund said.
They shouldn't go after that guy, he was dangerous and wouldn't hesitate to kill anyone there bothered him.
"What should we do?" Hanne asked.
They needed to get not only Arthur out the cell but Merlin as well. This wasn't going to be easy.
"I don't know" Edmund answered truthfully.
Hanne bite her inner cheek.
"I think we first shall get Arthur out, we need as many we can get to free Merlin" Hanne said.
Merlin was trapped in the middle of the castle. It would almost be impossible to get pass the guards without getting seen.
"With the guards focusing to find Arthur we may have a change to free Merlin" she continued.
Edmund nodded.
"Not a bad plan but we can also risk that my father will double up the guards by Merlin's door" he said.
Hanne smiled.
"And there is where I come in, I can make them take a break" she said with a smirk.
Arthur frowned, "how?".
Edmund smiled.
"Let's just say she is good".
Arthur just shook his head, "how do I get out".
Hanne then took some keys up in her hand. She knew she should had said it sooner but better now than never.
"I kinda stole them from one of the guards, he didn't see it I swear".
Arthur smiled.
"You're amazing, quickly get me out of here" he said
Hanne locked the cell door up and Arthur got out.
"I will make the guards ring the bell" Edmund said and then began to walk away from them.
Hanne turned to Arthur.
"Come with me".
Arthur followed her and wondered where she would take him.
