Chapter 8 –Moving Out
(Crona's POV)
Sarah… s-she saved me… I saw light ahead of me and then it was gone. I awoke to Sarah above me and I saw her fall sideways. Sarah was in a trans or something. I saw her pass out shortly afterwards. I was above her looked down at her, yelling her name in worry. Sarah didn't respond; she just smiled as she closed her eyes.
Zareh flew and said, "Sarah! What the heck happened Crona?!"
"S-Sarah healed me and then it looked like she was in a trans or something and passed out I think –I-I don't know," I replied.
Zareh got down on his knees like I was and looked over Sarah.
"She's still breathing, that's a good sign," Zareh said as he checked her pulse, "and I still feel a pulse so Sarah will be alright for now. I think she just passed out but I've never seen her heal anyone before though."
"What?!"
Zareh sighed, "Most of her family have healing abilities that they can use to heal themselves and others but Sarah didn't inherit it like the others and many other abilities. The best way I can stay it is that she's the runt or underdog compared to her siblings but she has powers that are strong and even deadly at times but her variety in her powers are limited compared to the others."
I nodded. Short explanation that I might need again later but for now I get it I think.
"CRONA!" Maka yelled as the others joined us, "Are you okay?!"
"I'm fine, if it wasn't for Sarah I don't know if I would be here right now," I replied.
Franken Stein kneed down to look at Sarah and said, "Did she just past out or what?"
"I think Sarah did at the end," Zareh said, "Cause she did something I've never seen or heard her do and I've grown up with her all my life. Her powers are strong nonetheless but she's never healed anyone before Crona."
Stein nodded, "So, there's more beneath her skin than her mental abilities."
"Yep, but it was unexpected because most of her siblings have healing abilities and the younger ones have been able to heal still a young age and when Sarah tried, nada, nothing, zero. It was as if it was impossible for her but she excelled at mental abilities."
"Where are they, I'll kick their ass!" Black Star shouted as he joined us and started looking around for the girls who ambushed me.
"They're long gone by now," I said, "But I think that they won't be an easy to defeat targets anyways."
"Damn it," Black Star said disappointed.
I heard a motorcycle speed down the street and I went to look who it was.
"Hey, sorry if I'm a little late, damn motorcycle wouldn't start," Hitode said, "I take it everything is okay, right?"
"Basically, Sarah's passed out but other than that, we're okay, they got some of my black blood though," I replied.
"Damn, at least part of Sarah's vision didn't come true."
I nodded.
"Hey, did you catch any names?" Soul asked.
"One," Zareh said, "Sah'rah, I believe it was the redhead's name but the blonde is still unnamed though."
Soul nodded, "So, another Sarah in the scene, maybe the redhead who helped ambush Crona spells her name differently."
"Probably," Zareh trailed off.
Then the building owner came into this scene.
"What the hell is going on up here?" he yelled, "Oh, it's you again pink head, I'm getting damn tired of what's be going around here still you've moved in."
"Hey! It's not like it's my fault that I was nearly killed here!" I yelled back.
"I don't care. You got one week to move out or else."
"Or else, what?" Maka asked him.
This isn't going to be pretty.
"Your friend here seems to have a hard time paying his bills and now all this crap that has been going on lately as be a nuisance. There's not one person who I can think of that lives here that hasn't complained about him!"
"Just because he's different doesn't mean he should be treated like this!" Maka yelled at him.
"Also, I don't give a damn, blondie, I don't care much about your little Academy either, I would move if I could but I don't have enough damn money so get out of here before I call the cops on all of you!"
"Are you sure that's a wise idea, Mister?" Stein said as he stood up, "This is Academy business since one of our students was just attacked and another is passed out by saving his life."
"So what? I nearly get killed every day by one thing or another so complain somewhere else!"
Sarah stirred.
"Who the heck is making all that damn noise, I'm trying to sleep here…" she mumbled.
"Um, Sarah, you're not at home, you passed out," Zareh said.
"Crap, pretend like you didn't hear the last part then," Sarah said embarrassed.
"Well, well, well, another one to join our conversation. Pink hair, you got one week to get out of here!" the building owner yelled at him.
"I have a name you know!" I yelled at him.
"I don't give a damn about what is it!" he replied as he slammed the door shut on us.
Whelp, I got to find a new place to live now.
Sarah rubbed her head as she said, "Well, that dumbass is a son of a bitch, mean one too. C'mon, kicking you out because you nearly died, that ain't right!"
"Tell me about it," I replied blankly.
My expression on my face wasn't blank at all though.
"Where does he expect you to go?" Soul asked.
"I don't know and he doesn't care anyways," I told him, "I might be going back to my old room in the Academy."
"Crona," Maka said, "I… well, that might be the only opinion since there's no room at my place but I would hate to see you go back to that room."
"I know, but where else will I go?"
Maka looked away from me. Honestly, I didn't want to go back there either.
"Wait," Sarah said, "I got some room at my place; you can take the guest room, if I have to, I'll make Zareh sleep on the couch."
"Thanks a lot, Sarah," sarcasm was thick in Zareh's voice.
Sarah elbowed him for that.
"I guess so, since there's no other place I can think of," I replied, "other than the Academy."
Sarah smiled and said, "Well, looks like we got a new roommate, Zareh," Zareh just nodded, he didn't seem to be paying too much attention though, "We'll help you move tomorrow cause your landlord is a bastard. Inconsiderate bastard actually."
"I know right," I said as I smiled.
"This night went sour real fast but for now I suggest we all get some sleep and have a fresh start tomorrow, it's the weekend anyways," Kid said.
We all agreed with that. Ugh, I don't know where to begin with my landlord by the way.
*next day*
(Sarah's POV)
"Zareh, careful now," I shouted after him as he picked way too many boxes.
We were helping Crona move right now. I would hate to rush him or anything but he didn't seem to mind it. I guess he was about ready to move or thinking about it before that little bastard of a landlord yelled at him.
Zareh couldn't see because of how many boxes he picked up and ran into the wall right next to the doorway.
"Damn it, what did I hit?" Zareh asked.
"Just the wall, don't worry about, I don't care if this place is in ruins when we leave," Crona replied.
"Especially how that bastard acted after you nearly died last night, I don't blame ya," Zareh replied as he backed up and looked where he was going first and got out of the doorway okay this time.
I was helping pack the cart Zareh and I brought to help move Crona's stuff. It's not much I would say but there's some stuff that's probably old and important to Crona but I'm not going through his stuff anyways.
"Here you go," Zareh said as he sat all the boxes down.
I nodded and started arranging them on the cart. The cart itself was plain black with three shelves on it. Each shelf was about eight inches to a foot apart so I was able to get quite a bit on it.
"I can't wait to get out of this damn place," Crona said as he kicked one of the walls.
Soot or dust fell from the ceiling. Crona moved out of the way before it fell on him.
"I can see why, this place seems poorly built anyways," I said.
"It was all I could afford when I first came here."
"Ah. May I ask what the heck is with your landlord?"
"Eh, he's just a bastard, I don't like cussing much but lately, I haven't found any better words to describe it," Crona explained.
"Well, I've never liked to cuss either but I've just spoke my mind for a while now, it's harder not to say a cuss word when almost everyone around you cusses," I said.
"True."
Crona was going through his stuff, seeing what to bring with him and what to throw away. It was going well so far but I think we all are ready for a break.
Zareh picked up some more boxes and hit the wall again but he went right through this time.
"Holy crap, Zareh," I exclaimed.
"That wall was a piece of crap anyways," Zareh retorted as he sat the boxes next to me.
A neighbor of Crona's open up their door to see what that noise was. She was across the hall from Crona's soon to be old place.
She said, "Was that needed?"
"You got a problem with it, lady, cause I don't give a damn right now after how this building's landlord treated our friend last night after he nearly died," Zareh replied in his ticked off voice, "If I gotta, I'll repair it myself cause I did it damn it, so go back to whatever the heck you were doing and leave us be."
"Whatever dumbass," she said.
"Excuse me but do you not see that I'm a freaking dragon here?"
She took off her sunglasses, I have no idea why she was wearing them anyways.
"Oh my god!" she exclaimed.
"Get back inside and pretend you didn't see anything before I get unpleasant, lady, now," Zareh said rudely.
She nodded as she got back inside her apartment.
Zareh looked at Crona and me with surprised faces, he simply asked, "What?"
"Nothing," we both said.
I forget sometimes how rude Zareh can be when he's ticked off.
"Hey, what time is it?" I asked.
Crona looked at his watch and said, "It's about noon."
"Want to finish getting this load out and then go grab something to eat?" I asked.
"Why not?"
I took that as a heck yea or basically a yes.
"Where do you want to eat?" I asked Crona.
"Um… I don't know… it's been a while since I last had some fast food," Crona replied.
"Hey, isn't there a Pizza-Hut around here or some pizza joint?" Zareh asked.
"I think there is around the corner," Crona answered.
"How does that sound for lunch?" Zareh asked.
"Sure," Crona replied and I said the same thing.
*an hour to two later*
"Damn, Zareh, did you really have to eat ten meat-lovers large pizzas?" I asked Zareh.
"What? I was hungry. I fixed that damn wall before we left anyways," he replied.
I shook my head. Zareh ate his fill at least. Crona and I seem to have different tastes in pizza so we had some leftovers. I had to keep Zareh from eating the leftovers too… He can eat a lot when he eats.
"Hey Sarah!" Patty yelled with Liz right behind her.
"Hey Patty, didn't expect to see you here," I replied.
"Patty, wait up!" Liz yelled as she caught up to us.
"How have you all been doing?" Patty asked as Liz joined us.
"We've all been okay today I would say, right?" I said as looked at Zareh and Crona, they nodded in agreement.
"That's good," Patty replied.
"Hey," Liz greeted us, "I see you all have gotten yourselves something to eat."
"Yep, I'm good and full now," Zareh said with a smile as I elbowed him, "Hey!" he said to me afterwards.
"Quick tip, unless you got enough money, don't take this one anywhere to eat cause he can rack up quite a bill," I explained.
"I was hungry, c'mon," Zareh complained.
"But you still ate like ten pizzas, Zareh," Crona said.
Liz looked at Zareh with wide eyes and said, "Well, I hope you are full now, Zareh, cause damn that's a lot."
"Yep, that's a lot of pizza for one guy," Patty agreed.
"Where's Kid?" I asked.
"Well… we're trying to get away from him today," Liz said, "He's different of course but sometimes you just need a break, you know?"
"Yep, I totally get that," I replied, "Wait, is that Kid down the street?"
"Oh crap…" Liz said as she looked behind her, "Um, could we spend the day with you three?"
"I don't have a problem with it," I replied as I faintly heard Kid yell something at Liz and Patty.
"I'm fine with it," Crona replied, "but we were just going to be moving my stuff to Sarah's place anyways."
"We can help with that!" Patty said.
"Okay then, I guess we got two more helpers now," Zareh said with a smile, "Hop in the truck before Kid gets here and we'll get ya out of here for now."
Liz and Patty nodded as they got in the back seats.
"I'll watch the stuff in the back, don't worry," Zareh said as he climbed into the bed of my truck.
Crona and I got in and I drove to my place with a not too pleased Kid behind us. Zareh made some smoke/sand cover for us. I started to feel bad for Liz and Patty now cause when they get home, they're going to have to deal with Kid…
*few hours later at Crona's old place*
"Well, I think that's all of it," Crona said as he brought the last box out.
"If you forgot anything, you can always come back later, you still have a few more days to finish moving as I heard," Liz said.
"True but for now, I don't think that I'm forgetting anything."
"I guess let's get this stuff to the truck," I said as I finished loading up the cart.
"Yep," Zareh said as he leaned on the wall he broke through earlier but didn't fall down on his ass and said, "Damn it," when it broke yet again.
Patty laughed, "That wall must be pretty weak, right Liz?"
"Yea," Liz replied.
"Well, that dumbass walked right through it earlier today," I commented.
"Damn," Liz said.
"I hope none of my stuff got broke or anything when Zareh did that," Crona said.
"Hey, if something broke, I'll pay for it but I doubt anything broke, Crona," Zareh replied.
We got in the elevator but Zareh didn't fit so he went down the stairs.
"So, what are you and Patty going to do when you go back to Kid's place," I asked Liz.
"I have no idea," Liz said, "I guess just hope we don't get the short end of the stick."
"I could help maybe, by telling Kid that we ran into you two and we needed some help."
"True but could we get something to eat before we go back because it's almost dinnertime."
"That's no problem, I'm a little low on food at my place but I'm sure we could find something out to eat."
Liz nodded. Crona didn't say anything. We're not getting pizza again thankfully but I don't know what to get. I feel so bad for Liz and Patty so I was thinking about going to Kid's place in an attempt to spare them from his wrath. Kid's probably really pissed off at him and I usually don't say piss anyways.
The ride home was uneventful but we got everything settled out, Crona's probably going to start unpacking tomorrow and Zareh and I will go back with him to his old place to see if we can help him find anything he forgotten. Zareh fixed that damn wall again as well before we left (I hope). I got Liz and Patty some dinner and all. Now it's time for me to go to Kid's place with them and try to keep them from the flame. Kid didn't look too pleased earlier when I saw him. Why do I think that this is going to be a bad idea for me at least?
