You were going to lose it. You were going to pick up the nearest solid object, turn around, and smack Blood directly across his stupid face. Alice had insisted that, after finding you in the woods nearly a month ago, that you not go wandering around at night alone.
"(Y/n) you don't what could be out there! It's better that you're not alone when making deliveries at night….I know you can take care of yourself but I'm just worried. Oh, I know! Blood is usually pretty active at night so I'm sure he wouldn't mind."
"You...want me to go wandering around with one of the major role holders into territories he's at war with?"
"I...well….Maybe he could just walk you to the borders? Or have Elliot or the twins go with you?"
"Alice…."
"Just let me do this one thing for you! I'm sure I can figure something out! Besides, I know you like being around the twins! Maybe you could become friends with Blood and Elliot too."
"Hm," Your eye twitched as Blood leaned over your shoulder, watching you wrap a package meant for Nightmare from some small shop in town. "I don't see why I'm needed to watch you wrap a package."
"Then just leave! The door is right there just leave!" It was like this every time the two of you were in the same building but it had only gotten worse since Alice asked him to look after you. Usually Blood had the twins or Elliot following you around but, for some reason you couldn't begin to understand, the Mafioso had begun trying to accompany you more often. But it was almost pure hell….
Especially because he wouldn't stop whining.
There was something...not so good in Blood's eyes. Not a dangerous look, but the kind of stare that your friend gives you when they've place a whoopee cushion somewhere and were waiting for you to sit on it. "I see. So I suppose we're no longer friends then?" His words were said with such a lethargic tone that, if you didn't know what he was trying to do, you would have assumed he was simply bored.
But you weren't stupid. And neither was Blood.
"Stop," You had half an urge to pick up the heavy parcel you'd just finished wrapping and hit Blood over the head. "Acting like you care. You don't even want to be here! You've been complaining, insulting me, and just being downright cruel for the last two days! The only reason you've been following me around is because Alice asked you to!"
"Is that right?"
"Yes it is!"
"I see...so this is what Elliot meant when he said you were intelligent yet completely daft."
"Do you want to get punched, Blood!? Because I'll do it!" You didn't know if it was because arguing like this reminded you of playful arguments with your brother or because you were just becoming numb to the role holders callous behaviors you didn't know but you did know that you….weren't...exactly upset right now. "Maybe Alice was right…."
"Oh?" You jerked backwards at the realization that you'd just spoken out loud only to feel a spike of annoyance at the smug look in Blood's eyes. "What was Alice right about, exactly?"
Side-eyeing the mafioso you slid the package into your messenger bag, tempted to push the table separating the two of you at the lazy jerk, before slinging it over your shoulder. "She knew I'd get annoyed just by being around you. And I'm leaving before you try to bait me into another argument."
"Who's baiting you? Surely not me, little lady."
"Blood I will personally destroy your entire tea collection if you try to follow me."
"That's a dangerous thing to say to me you know."
"Ooooooh I'm so scared! If you kill me I'll just haunt you until you die."
"Would that mean you would be watching me in the bath? I suppose I shouldn't be surprised, you've already walked in on me once-"
"BYE BLOOD I'M LEAVING AND I HOPE I NEVER SEE YOU AGAIN BYE!"
