Chapter 10
Chloe was in an inevitable conundrum. She scarcely remembers a time where she was in a position like this one. Where whatever she said, ether her true an upmost feelings or a lie would cause a enormous change in their relationship. If Chloe King told the truth, told the blonde boy that she wanted more out of their friendship, that she wanted more than a platonic relationship. That she wanted to weave her fingers in his unruly but perfect locks, tug his head closer to hers and kiss his plum lips she because she could. Than everything would change. But she couldn't allow that. How was one to start a relationship behind a lie. A lie that everyone close to her must play along with, while even strangers that work at unknown coffee shops must know she's married, although she just brushed hands with the person, they must feel the cold feel of her ring. Everyone was lied to. She could not create a relationship, allow a relationship with Alek to grow behind a false cover. She had to say she loved him, dozens and dozens of times over to mysterious faces, and judgmental eyes. A lie repeated over and over. Not only does it not feel right for her to be in a relationship because of this act her life has become, but because she's gotten so good at acting she feels like she's forgotten what her true feelings are. Does she love Alek, like she sternly told those who continued to question. Is her non platonic feelings for him, spurred because of this lie. Does it matter? Whatever she feels for him, let it be lust, love or even just a crush. It feels so real to her, that imagining it not be there, the butterfly's, the daydreams of sloppy kisses, and heartfelt speeches makes Chloe feel empty. Telling him the truth, that she does feel more for him than platonic, is not an option. Although Chloe had no doubt in her mind it would lift a heavy weight off her shoulder it can not be said. Lying, saying that she doesn't have any romantic wants with him would not only crush her, but him as well. When Alek admitted to not being over the situation with her feelings for both Brian and him, and her choosing, nah her making a mistake, she swore she was going to faint. Alek never attempted to hide his want for her. It was blandly obvious he lusted after her, especially with all his baby making comments. But how much was an act, she had always wondered. When he wrapped his arm around her waist and pulled her in closer, whispered compliments in her ear, unzipped her dress when she was too worn out from parties to attempt to struggle with. Those small but such noticeable acts confused Chloe to the upmost degree. But tonight while discussing there upcoming kiss she got an inside on Alek. She couldn't hurt him like before. But she couldn't tell him the truth. She opted for doing nothing. She would wait him out in till he deemed it was time to leave for the party, and than she would act like nothing happened. No big confrontation. With a sigh Chloe crossed her delicate legs and began un strapping her heels.
