I'm back! Dont be mad that I havent been here lately! Life has been hard! So, here you go! Yeah, its really really short... But you will LOVE the cliff hanger! (*Has mischievous look*)
I sat up, and realized my clothes were different. I was wearing a dark golden chiton, gold sandals, and my hair was put up, Greek style.
I swung my legs over the side of the bed, and stood up. Slight dizziness flashed over me, but I took a second to get a grip. 'Must of been drugged...' I thought as I headed for the door. I passed a mirror, and saw something on my head. It was a golden crown with flowers and small skulls in the center.
A flood of memories ran through my brain, remembrance making me stumble back in shock. I had been taken. Again. 'Am I so weak that everyone must prove that I am easily taken?' I asked myself as I walked to a window.
I immediately looked away. I had a very nice view of The Fields of Punishment. Lovely.
Taking a shaky breath, I walked to my door. Wiggling the handle, I realized I was locked in. I pressed my ear to the door, and heard the clinking of metal against bone. Guards.
Groaning, I step away and look around. There was only a bed, a mirror, a window, and a dresser. Walking to the window again, I looked down. Then, back to the bed. Formula's calculated in my head, and I had a 50/50 chance of dying if I didn't try. So, with a huff, I set to work.
Tying sheet, to blanket, to pillowcase, to comforter, to the canopy above my bed, I made a rope. I tied one end to the bed, and through the rest out the window. It was a few feet away from the ground, but nothing I couldnt handle.
Taking a deep breath, I began my descent. Thankfully, I climbed the rope at my old school, before going to Taller Middle. And I was the only one would could do it. 15 times.
Looking down, I saw the rope sway with the wind. Wait, wind? I looked around, and the wind was picking up. My hair was moving sleekly around in the air, and I was thankful it was pulled back. If it got in my face, I wouldn't be able to see.
I continued my descent, trying not to think of how high I was or all the lost souls below. Or the fact that I was in the realm of the lord of death. Yeah, just think happy thoughts! Oh, I'm so gonna die.
I started just climbing manually, not thinking about how I was climbing. Just that I was going fast. I couldn't get caught, or it would all be over. The wind kept getting stronger, not helping me with the climb. What do you call it when you're climbing down instead of up?
I felt my feet touch the ground, and I woke from my manual override. Looking around, I had no clue where to go. So, I just ran. I tried to block out the horrors that I saw, but it was hard. Several times, I had to stop, and I cried. I saw a woman, maybe twenty, being whipped with flaming, spiked whips repeatedly by tall dark men.
Another, was a teenager about 18 running on nails and the occasional flame shot from the ground. Another, a man was repeatedly dipped in acid. Over, and over again. Another, a man was being stripped of his skin... Well, you get the picture.
Other times I had to stop, and I got sick. I have a pretty strong stomach, but still... No one wants to see a man stripped of his flesh.
Finally, I got to this long line. People, or ghosts, were being carried past me, screaming. The dark men took them, all without expression. They didn't seem to notice me... How strange. Finally, I got to this traffic post, where the three lines were branching off. Some shorter than others, some longer, and some just downright slow.
I slipped through, and as before, I wasn't noticed. Strange. But I knew I had to focus on getting out! I waded through hundreds of thousands of dead souls till I got to this river side. Something told me I shouldnt touch it.
A boat was unloading dead, and I jumped aboard it before it took off. This was starting to get too easy. The man who drove the boat focused on the river, and not at me. Thats when I realized he couldn't see me.
Holy Hera! I'm invisible! How? I looked around, at my skin and dress, and realized there was a small layer of shadow on me, like a second skin. What was this?
I then got the strange feeling that someone was watching me. Slowly, I turned. There was a boy, about my age, with dark black hair. He hard dark circles around his eyes, and looked ghostly. But it was clear he was human, or as human as one could get living here.
He pressed a finger to his lips, and held his hand, asking for me to wait. I nodded, realizing he wanted to wait till we got to shore before we talked. There was no below deck, so we were all in the boat, so to speak.
Finally, we made it to shore. We jumped off quickly, avoiding the water as best we could. The dead slowly began to board the boat, and we moved through them to a safe distance from the ferryman.
"Who are you?" I asked, trying to keep my voice down. The guy looked back to the ferryman, and decided it was safe. "My name is Nico di Angelo, and I am the King of Ghosts." He introduced himself, and did a little bow.
I tilted my head. "The King of Ghost? Whats that mean?" I asked, curious. He sighed. "It means i'm immortal! I'm a god."
Mwahaha! Yeah, I know its short... But here it is! Be happy! And chew on that little detail at the end right ^. NICO IS A GOD! MWAHAHAHA! I will explain next chapter... If even I can understand why I did that. I really dont know why.
DONT ASK! Wait, yes! Ask away! I want reviews! I feel like people dont review my work a lot... It makes me lonely. So, review away! Anyway you want! Even if you wan to have a conversation with a character!
And I am still allowing you to submit the fact that you want a particular god or goddess or monster! Please! I love your idea's! I need them!
Love you people!
