Chapter Ten: The Second Exam

The next day everyone was standing in a field around where Anko was standing in front of a forest. "This is where the Second Exam will take place, the 44th training area. Also known as the Forest of Death." Anko smirked as she watched the crowd of genin.

Aikou moves closer to Sasuke unnoticed by anyone that wasn't looking at her and she felt Sasuke wrap an arm around her shoulders trying to give her comfort. She listens to the speech and sighs as Naruto mocks the examiner and whispers "Naruto-kun you shouldn't have done that." She just rests her head on Sasuke's shoulder closing her eyes. Ignoring everything going on but also hearing everything important that the examiner had to say. She sighs as she opens her eyes and takes the paper that Sasuke had gotten for her and reads it before signing it.

Sasuke asks in a low whisper "are you sure? You could die in this exam."

Aikou sighs and says "Sasuke I have great friends plus I know Gaara will be looking out for me if I get into too much trouble. I ran into him this morning on my way here with Naruto. Nobody but me noticed that Gaara put some of his sand around my ankle to warn him if I'm in too much trouble."

Sasuke grips her arm and asks "you haven't taken it off yet?"

Aikou closes her eyes and says "I tried but it won't come off without his chakra touches it." she looks at her ankle and says "he used to do that back when we where friends. He said it was so that he could protect me all the time."

Sasuke lets her of her arm, pulls her away from everyone's eyes before pushing her against a tree, and says in a low voice "I want it off. I will be the only one to protect you on the exams."

Aikou looks confused and asks "Why the hell are you so protective of me? I thought we were only doing this for revenge."

Sasuke steps back away from her and says "I don't want you to get hurt is all. we are only acting like a couple to get revenge on him." he pulls out a box and tosses it at her and says "that's for you." he then walks off quickly.

Aikou takes a step forward only to be pushed back again and she glares angrily at Gaara and snaps "I'm not a toy to be pushed against something whenever someone feels like it!"

Gaara snaps "what the hell do you think your doing?" his sand pushes her against the tree more and he glares at her saying "your mine and nobody elses!"

Aikou glares and relaxes her body to move her arms up and form a few hand signs that made the sand fall to the ground and she walks up to Gaara and says in a low and deadly voice "I'm not anybody's! Nobody owns me and nobody ever will!" she turns and walks off stopping at the edge of the clearing and says "besides you're the one that ended our friendship with this stupid letter!" she tosses the ball of paper at him before running off to Sasuke.

Gaara picks up the letter and reads it before pulling out the last letter that she had sent him, looks at the handwriting before growling, pulling out a mission scroll that his father gave to him, and noticed that all three papers had the exact same handwriting on it. he growls and disappears going to his teammates/siblings and snaps "did you two know that the Kazekage was writing those letters from ''Aikou''?"

Temari asks "What do you mean Gaara-sama?"

Gaara shoves the three letters into his sister's hands and walks over to lean on the tree glaring off into space.

Temari looks at the letters and says "no way! So if these are fake letters then the real letters where either destroyed or locked up someplace in the Kazekage's office!" she looks at her younger brother and asks "does she still care about you?"

Gaara shrugs and says "hell if I know."

Sasuke glares over where Gaara was after hearing what happen between him and Aikou. He was tempted to go over and punch the sand-nin but he didn't just because Aikou told him not to. He glances at her and asks "Well are you gonna open it?"

Aikou looks at him before looking back to the box and opens it seeing a pair of earrings that where just normal silver hoops. She looks confused and asks "Why give me something like this?"

Sasuke leans against the tree next to her and mutters "They where my mothers. I found them when you where out from that attack or whatever." He looks down at the earrings and says "they enhance the wearer's chakra and puts up a chakra shield to protect the wearer. The chakra shield is from the small chips of diamond and cat eye that are put in the earrings." He looks away and up at the sky.

Aikou smiles and says "thank you Sasuke-san. They are beautiful too." she smiles up at him before standing up and kissing his cheek and giving him a hug before sitting back down and took out the earrings to put them on.

Sasuke says "here I'll help." He kneels down hiding his small blush from when she kissed his cheek and hugged him. he puts them in the second piercing before standing up and mummers' "beautiful." he didn't mean for anyone to hear but by the look on Aikou's face it seemed like she heard.

Aikou blushes a deep red as she heard Sasuke mummer beautiful and she stands up as Naruto and Sakura walk over. She smiles at them and asks "So are we ready for the second exam?"

Naruto grins and says "hell yeah!" he jumps in place as he grins.

Sakura notices the new earrings and asks "Aikou where did you get those earrings? I never saw anything more beautiful in my life!"

Aikou shrugs and says "A friend gave them to me." she puts the box that the earrings came in into her weapon pouch and says "it looks like we go turn in the forms now and get the scroll." She nods to where Anko stood.

Sakura stood next to Aikou as they watched Sasuke fight. Aikou had her kekkei genkai activated and was looking around trying to see if there was anyone else around. Sakura noticed and asks "whats with your eyes?"

Aikou blinks and her eyes go back to normal and says "I'll tell you later when Naruto and Sasuke are there to hear it too." she looks up as Naruto came back and blinks her eyes changing for a second before nodding and saying "that's the real one."

Sasuke nods and looks at him before saying "We need a plan." They all walk away to a different clearing and sit down. Sasuke says "We need to know who is carrying the scroll and a password."

Naruto says "Raman! For the password!"

Aikou says "no it has to be something more." She held out her hand and says "Sakura or Naruto should carry the scroll."

Sasuke gave the scroll to Aikou and says "yeah but who?"

Sakura says "Naruto would be a better choice that way we won't have to worry about it getting taken since we are stronger and can protect him."

Aikou reaches back into her pouch and asks "Sakura can you help me take off my third earrings? They are starting to hurt." She pulls out the box that Sasuke gave her the earrings in.

Sakura says "Sure." She moves closer to Aikou and asks in a whisper "what are you really doing?"

Aikou mummers "hiding the scroll. Shrink it and make it look like your taking out an earring."

Sakura whispers "alright." she does so and watches as Aikou reaches to take out the other earring and put it in the box when she really put the scroll in the box. she says "alright there Aikou-chan. Its out."

Sasuke asks "what about the password?"

Sakura says "what about one of the lessons?"

Aikou makes a fake scroll, hands it to Naruto, and says "here Naruto put it up." she puts the box that held the real scroll inside her pouch and smiles.

Naruto looks confused but clears it up from the look that he got from Aikou and puts the fake scroll in his weapon pouch. He says "but what about Ramen? That would make a great password!"

Aikou shakes her head and says "too common. Hmm… what one though?"

Sasuke then repeats a lesson that would be their password. Sakura repeats it and Sasuke nods and says "good now lets get moving." With that, they headed for the tower.

Aikou gasps as wind blasted at them and Sasuke grabbed her arm and pulled her to the ground under a bush with Sakura next to her. she blinks letting her kekkei genkai start and looks down the path and whispers "the grass Nins. Part of the group that had the man that returned Anko-sama's kunai."

Sakura asks "how do you know?"

Aikou sighs and whispers "my bloodline is known as Kurisutaru Manako or Crystal Eyes to most. I can see threw anything."

Sakura asks "so like the Hyuuga's kekkei genkai?"

Aikou shakes her head and says "almost but I can only see whats in front of me. Other words I can see threw anything just see the outlines of what I'm seeing threw." she blinks again letting her bloodline go inactive.

Sakura blushes and asks "So you can see threw clothes?"

Aikou giggles and says "kind of but I can't see anything. It comes in handy when looking for a scroll. If I add chakra to my eyes when my kekkei genkai is active then I can see what I want to." She nods to where the feet where.

Later Aikou leans against a tree panting as she watched Sasuke battle Orochimaru, she only knew of him because of her brother's bingo book. She growls softly and whispers "Sakura get them out of here. Neither one has the strength to finish that Nin off."

Sakura asks "What do you mean?"

Aikou glares at Orochimaru, stands up on her own taking a step in front of Sakura, and says loudly "because that's Orochimaru an S class missing Nin of our village. He is to be killed if found and he is also an S rank criminal."

Orochimaru looks over and says "well your certainly well informed. Are you even a genin?"

Aikou smirks and crouches down before saying "of course but I happen to be something more." She knew she was letting the wolfs soul merge with hers a little bit and she controlled just how much.

Sakura's eyes widen and she runs over to Sasuke, who was on the ground in pain, and holds him looking around for help.

Aikou says "Sakura get Naruto and stay right there and you won't get hurt." She then runs forward faking to the left before going to the right and kicking him sending him flying to a tree… ok well a few trees leaving some lovely Orochimaru shape holes! She appears in front of him, grabs his neck tightening her grip, and jumps back as the body exploded sending mud everywhere. She sniffs the air only to smell mud and she growls lowly not sensing or smelling him anyplace nearby. She shakes her head and appears next to Sakura who only had Sasuke with her still.

Sakura stared wide eyed at Aikou and says "your stronger than you let on!"

Aikou nods and says "we need to get to someplace safe. I'll get Naruto." She then goes to her friend and gets him from the tree tossing him over her shoulder before appearing next to Sakura again. She sighs and picks up Sasuke putting him over her shoulder too and says "lets hurry because I don't know how much longer I can hold them without going fully wolf and killing everyone around me." with that they take off to find shelter.

Later after they had found a good place to wait for the two boys to wake up and Aikou and Sakura had look them over and healed them, then did the two girls set to guarding them. Sakura says "we need more water. I'll go get it since you can protect them better."

Aikou shakes her head and says "I can fight better than you if I get attacked. We are lucky that Orochimaru only burned the fake scroll and not the real one." she closes her eyes and says "I'll get the water. You use that mind of yours to set up traps around here. My chakra strings will only warn us not do anything to slow them down." she stands up opening her eyes and says "besides I have the most friends in the exam." She grabs the water thingy and runs off leaving Sakura to work on the traps. She sighs as she kneels down to get water. She felt eyes on her and stands up with the water acting like she couldn't sense the team that was watching her. she calls out "Kiba-kun what are you doing?"

Team 8 come out and Kiba asks "shouldn't you be done already?" he looks her over and says "sheesh do you let the boys do all the fighting?"

Aikou rolls her eyes and says "nah I just heal fast so it only looks like I haven't gotten hurt." She shrugs and asks "What do you three want?"

Hinata whispers "the scroll."

Aikou shrugs and says "out of luck I don't have it. Sasuke-san has it since he is the strongest member of the team." She walks past them ignoring Akamaru barking.

Kiba grabs Aikou's arm and says "Akamaru smells the scroll on you. we don't want to fight you so just hand over the scroll."

Aikou jerks her arm out of Kiba's grip and says "I told you I don't have it. heck my team doesn't even have a scroll anymore because another team took it."

Shino looks at her and says "let's go. She is telling the truth."

Kiba says "but Akamaru's nose is never wrong."

Aikou shrugs and says "I was the one holding the scroll at the time that it got stolen from us." she then keeps on walking.

Kiba asks "why is Sasuke's smell all over you?"

Aikou turns looking confused and asks "What do you mean?"

Kiba says "you don't normally smell like him. does that mean the rumors of you two being a couple are true?"

Aikou blushes and says "no we aren't a couple. We are only acting like it to get the youngest sand-nin pissed off."

Hinata asks "so that was the guy that hurt you?"

Shino says "you shouldn't piss him off he is strong."

Aikou says "I'm stronger. Besides, I know all of his moves from being his best friend." She then jumps off not spilling a drop of water as she did so.

Aikou flips landing on the ground next to where Sakura was standing and sets the water down by the boys before asking "whats wrong Sakura-chan?"

Sakura says "they want to fight Sasuke-kun but I won't wake him up."

Aikou yawns and asks "so you guys work for Orochimaru too?" she gives them a sleepy look and says "pathetically weak I see." She turns and says "you can handle them Sakura-chan I'll stay back and guard our boys to make sure they don't get hurt." She walks over and leans on the tree and closing her eyes knowing that she pissed off the sound-nins.

Sakura looks at Aikou and says "but Aikou-chan! I can't handle them!"

Aikou looks at her friend and says "yes you can. I believe in you." she then closes her eyes.

The female sound nin glares and snaps "if your not fighting then you must be weak!"

Sakura glares and snaps "shut up! you don't know Aikou-chan!"

Aikou shrugs and says "Sakura-chan let them think what they want. In the end they will be the ones dead." she opens her eyes blowing her bangs away and looks at the group of sound-nins and says "they reek of death."

Sakura looks at Aikou noticing the wolf like eyes on her friend and looks back at the group of sound-nin. She looks between the two and says "Aikou-chan perhaps you should fight them."

Aikou says "Sakura you know how to drag out the fight the longest until I can step in. teamwork is needed for the exam." While she talked she never took her eyes off of the sound-nins and she didn't plan to. She could tell that her eyes sorta freaked out the sound-nins but then again her eyes freaked anyone out no matter where they are from.

Sakura nods and says "alright then Aikou-chan." She then waits for the sound-nins to attack.

Sakura screams as she falls to the ground again. Lee was passed out on the ground healed by Aikou. Ino, Chouji, and Shikamaru where now fighting while Aikou was healing Sakura. Aikou looks up, stands up stopping next to Chouji, and says "you three can leave now. I'll take it from here."

Ino shouts "What?! What do you mean you will take it from here? You're just now stepping into the battle and didn't even help your own teammate when she needed it! you shouldn't be aloud to be a genin!"

Aikou says "shut up. your annoying." She glares at Ino before turning her eyes to the sound-nin and smirks at them and says "well if your lucky you won't end up dead because of me." she then dashes forward disappearing loving how her speed kicked in so much. She kicks leader of the sound-nin sending him flying back into a tree as she appeared in front of him and punches him into the air and jumping up after wards to kick him back down. she pulled out her fans and she forms an 'X' with them and flips sending yellow light down. she kicks off of the body and flips back after putting her fans away and landing on the ground next to Sakura in a crouch before standing up glaring at the sound-nins.

The leader gasps in pain from the two cuts on his chest and he looks over at the girl who wasn't even out of breath yet. He asks "what the hell are you?"

Aikou says "something that I wouldn't even wish on you." she turns towards where Naruto was just waking up and walks over to him kneeling next to him and says "Naruto wake up its just a dream." She glanced at Sasuke, her eyes widen in fear at what was spreading across from him, and she whispers "no fucken way!"

Naruto woke up, saw fear on his friend's face, and asks "Aikou-chan whats wrong?" he then looks at Sasuke and he asks "What is that?"

Aikou shudders and says "not good. we need to get out of here." She stands up pulling Naruto with her and they both move outside the tree and join Sakura to the side watching Sasuke.

Sasuke steps out and asks "Sakura who did this to you?"

The wind arm guy from sound says "that would be me." he smirks as he watches the team.

Sasuke glares and asks "Aikou?"

Aikou says "they did nothing to me. Only whats inside me stopped me." she looks down at the ground not meaning to not help her teammate.

Sasuke looks at Aikou and brushes his hand against her shoulder as he passed her and whispers "don't worry." He then attacks the sound-nins.

Sakura clung to Sasuke and says "please Sasuke-kun stop!" she had tears down her eyes as she looked up at him.

Aikou was standing behind Sakura with tears in her eyes too as she watched them. she also had hurt in her eyes for some reason that she couldn't comprehend.

Sasuke saw both of them and he falls to his knees in pain. He did shove Sakura off of him and stayed on his knees in pain.

Aikou ran up to him and wrapped her arms around him holding him close knowing the type of pain he was going threw for she went threw it every month. she sends a sorry look to Sakura and mouthed 'it's a type of pain that only someone who has dealt with it can help with.'

Sakura nods feeling hurt that Sasuke was once again in Aikou's arms instead of her own. She wanted to hold him and comfort him.

Aikou whispers "its ok Sasuke don't worry." She rubs his back trying to ease the pain with what she knew of healing. She felt him stop shaking but his grip around her didn't loosen as he sat there leaning on her.

Sasuke closes his eyes in pain holding onto his friend and tightens his grip when the pain hit again. He couldn't help but whimper against Aikou's neck/shoulder and tighten his grip on her pulling himself closer to his friend.

Aikou just sits there rubbing Sasuke's back calming him down. she looks up as Team 10 and Team Gai come out of hiding.

Ino walks next to Sakura and says "come on I'll fix your hair." She pulls her friend up and away from the two friends. She asks "why did you let Sasuke-kun go that easily?"

Sakura says "Ino-chan you know that Aikou-chan isn't the normal girl. you know she isn't the same as us. I won't betray her trust and her feelings to tell you." She looks at the two and says "she knows the pain that Sasuke-kun is going threw, she knows much more stuff than I, and she is closer to him than I. She overall is the better person than both of us. she treats all people as equals no matter of their past or what anyone says about them. also despite her horrible past she still smiles and treats people kindly." She sighs and says "Ino-chan compared to her only one person equals her and that is Hinata-chan. none of us, as in all of the girls, equal to her as a person."

Ino says "yeah so? she didn't help you when you needed it in the battle against those three ninja."

Sakura says "She couldn't. she was keeping a chakra shield around Naruto-dobe and Sasuke-kun protecting them! when Lee-san got hurt, she healed him. she healed me before stepping up to fight." She opens her eyes, glances at her friend, and says "she will be a strong kunoichi when the time comes."

Ino snorts and says "yeah and she will take Sasuke-kun's heart and we won't get a chance!"

Sakura shrugs and says "I don't care about that any more. She deserves him after her past. You saw the red haired sand-nin from the first exam? She was in love with him and he broke her heart. Sasuke-kun has mended it in his own way and in Aikou-chan's way she healed Sasuke-kun's heart."

Ino looks at her friend and says "you have changed."

Sakura says "yeah Aikou-chan has a thing about her that changes how people see things once they get to know her."

Later when they where sitting by the river on the fourth or so day, Sakura sighs and says "we don't have another scroll. With Orochimaru burning the first scroll."

Naruto blinks and says "but I thought Aikou-chan had the scroll on her so the scroll that burned was a fake."

Aikou walks up and says "true Naruto-kun. We have both scrolls that we need."

Sasuke walks up behind Aikou and stands next to her before asking "how far are we from the tower?"

Aikou looks up and says "someone is coming. It smells like Kabuto but I'm not sure." At her teammates looks she blushes and says "the water is affecting my smell!"

Naruto nods and says "its alright Aikou-chan!" he looks up just as Kabuto appears in front of them. He grins and says "hey Kabuto! What are you doing here?"

Aikou covers her mouth coughing before she felt arms wrap around her and she buries her face into Sasuke's neck/shoulder breathing in his smell instead of what in the air that was making her cough.

Sasuke rubbed Aikou's back gently as he held her close feeling her stop coughing and just breath. He glances at her noticing the look on her face and he just stood there holding her but he glares at Kabuto.

Kabuto raises an eyebrow and says "I thought so." he looks at Aikou and says "wolf bane shouldn't be affecting anyone but one of the canine family so are you part of the Inuzuka clan."

Naruto jumps and yells "ARE YOU TRYING TO KILL HER?! That stuff will kill her if she breaths in too much of it!"

Kabuto says "I know but I had to test it."

Sakura glares and snaps "no you didn't! You could have left it alone!" she was angry that someone would try to hurt her friend.

Aikou moves her head away from Sasuke's neck so that the others could hear her but she kept her head on his shoulder so she couldn't start coughing and says "Sakura-chan, Naruto-kun calm down. It can't harm me that much because I am human too. Just as long as I don't smell it I'll be fine."

Both of them calm down but Sasuke tighten his grip on her and asks "what do you want?"

Kabuto says "to warn you not to open that scroll. It has a jutsu on it to knock you out if you open it before you reach the tower."

Naruto asks "do you know how far from the tower we are?"

Kabuto nods and says "you can travel with me if you want to the tower." He walked over to the river and drops the wolfs bane he had in his hand into the water before washing his hand off and says "alright the wolf bane is gone."

Aikou lifts her head and nods before saying "we should travel with him. it would be safer to have someone who knows the dangers of the exam with us rather than facing them alone." After she said that the others looked to be thinking before they nod their heads in agreement.

Later after they had reached the tower and said their goodbyes and enter the room, Sakura asks "what now?"

Aikou, who was reading what the sign on the wall, says "we need to open both scrolls at the same time." She pulls out the scroll she had and re-sized it to its normal size and hands it to Naruto. She watches them open the scroll.

Naruto says "wha?"

Sakura says "I don't get it."

Sasuke says "it's a summoning scrolls toss them on the ground." He was slightly panicked but he found that Aikou standing next to him calmed him down more than he thought. He glances at her to see her watching the smoke.

Aikou raises an eyebrow and asks "Iruka-sensei?" she looked surprised along with the rest of her team.

Iruka says "yes." he looks at them noticing that aside from a few scratches that was healing quickly from something that they where alright. he then explains to them everything and then led them into the room where the other teams stood.

A Review might be nice to have but considering this is horribly written and ten years old.. lets just leave the review/alerts/favorite pleading to my Black Roses fanfic.
