Chapter 9:
*Myra's POV*
Ryan's hateful words still echo in my head. Tears continue to run down my face as my sobs fill up the hotel room.
I am no longer engaged to who I thought was the love of my life. The look on his face scared me to death. What am I going to do?
At some point, I fell asleep from crying. It wasn't until the next morning was when I finally wake up. My cell phone catches my attention. Everyone on the team have been either texting or calling me of where I am, expect for Ryan.
With my heart still broken and heavy, I text everyone the same text, 'Ryan and I broke up'. Almost immediately, Elfie called me.
"Wanna talk face to face?" she asked softly.
"Yea," my voice cracked a bit.
"Meet Heather, Katrina, and I at our usual place at eleven, okay?"
"Okay."
Katrina, Heather, and Elfie are my very dear best friends.
I particularly drag myself to get ready for the day. The outfit for my first day of being single again contains of black skinny jeans, a white tank top with black skulls, a black V neck sweater, and black sandals. Simple makeup of concealer, foundation, and mascara paints my face. I place on my black ribbon hair clip on my right side painfully. Signally I'm now single.
A deep breath escapes my lips when I place on my protective gear before leaving the hotel on my bike. My mind spins as my feet pedals to the usual diner. What am I going to with my life? No family to turn to. No friends outside of Penn State. I can try to return home, but where would I go?
When I arrived there by foot, the girls look up from talking among themselves. Heather came up to me for a hug as I cry out more on her shoulder. Once I calmed down, we head inside to get a light lunch.
Everything appear out of my mouth when I told them what has happened during the whole courtship. Even why I am being less and less on the show lately.
"Was it really a demon?" Katrina asked about the encounter.
"Honestly it showed itself to me like a demon because it wants to pull out his inner demons," I explained.
"That explains why he is been acting weird lately," Elfie comments.
"What am I supposed to now girls?" I asked when we got our drinks. "I can't stay here because of him and I'm homeless now."
"You are from the West Coast right?" Heather asked, getting an idea.
"Yea….?"
"Can you return to the West Coast?"
"I can," I speak after thinking for a bit. "But where? I can't go back where I was born because of my parents."
"Where did you grandma came from?" Elfie asked, getting an idea.
"Las Vegas, Nevada."
"Do you remember living there?" Katrina asked, taking a sip of her drink.
"Countless times," I smiled, remembering those memories. "I always had a positive feeling there."
There is a silence upon us as we think about what's next for us. Should I move back to Last Vegas and leave everyone here? Or stay here and face Ryan every day?
"You should go," Heather speaks up, surprising us. "Well," she smiles, "you did say you had happy memories there as a child. Maybe there's a spiritual reason why you are needed there."
You know what, her reasoning sounds correct to me.
"Will you girls be alright without me though?" I asked, worried about their well being.
"We'll be fine," Katrina assures me for them with a smile.
I smiled back weakly.
Later that night, the girls gave me all the information that I need for my flight to Las Vegas. There's one tonight close to midnight and it's a thirty four hour trip towards there. Everyone else got informed of what I am doing and they are supporting me to say their goodbyes for now at the airport. Chip volunteered to take me there since Ryan has the once shared car.
"We're going to miss you Myra," he says sadly when we arrived to the airport.
"I'm going to miss you all as well Chip," I smiled sadly, "but if things are correct in front of me, something in Las Vegas is telling me to go there in a positive way."
"Of course," he smiles back small. "You still have my number if you need anything."
"Thank you so much for everything," I smiled a little more before hugging him.
"You're welcome," he hugs back.
Each one gives me their hugs goodbye.
"Be careful okay?" Michelle says to me, hugging me.
"I promise I will," I hugged her back.
"Enjoy history as much as you can while helping the lost souls," Lorraine says to me with a smile.
"Yes I promise Lorraine," I smiled back.
We hug each other before they call for my flight.
I look back to my Paranormal State family with one last smile as I leave their sights.
