Kate walked into the interrogation room once again to face Grant Marshall.
"Mr Marshall you are aware of why you're here right?" She asked closing the door behind her.
Grant whipped his face and ran his fingers through his thick black hair. "I don't know where that phone came from I swear."
Kate rolled her eyes unconvinced by his words. "Mr Marshall it was in your house with your finger prints on it."
He was sweating his cocky attitude was gone she had him.
"What if someone was trying to set me up, because I didn't kill Emily and I certainly didn't have her phone, I didn't even know she had a kid." He said raising his voice with every word.
"Then how did her phone get into your house?"
He was silent and he wiped the sweat running down his face. "I don't know. But I didn't kill Emily I was in love with her."
Kate sat back in her chair."
Castle looked at the girl beside him playing subway surfer on Kate's cell phone and he looked at the red and blue hair girl suddenly crash into a train and she giggled at the collision passing him the phone.
"Can I play fruit ninja instead?" She asked.
He smiled at her nicely and turned the phone to its home page accidentally hitting the missed called button. His face scrunched up and for a moment he had completely forgotten about the girl waiting to play a game. Why was Mrs Johnson calling her phone?
Suddenly he felt a hand on his and he looked up to see the expecting girl's face.
"Sorry," He apologized, turning on the game and handing Maddie the phone while he was still deep in thought.

Kate exited the room feeling better than she had entered it.
"Hey I'm Finished." She paused at the confused look on his face.
"What's wrong?" she asked.
Castle shook his head. "Nothing.
Her eyes narrowed almost like she didn't believe him but she continued on explaining the information she had found.
"Well he claims that he had no idea about Maddie and that he was in love with Emily. He gave us an alibi and Esposito is going to check it out so we should know by tomorrow if he really is our murderer. I feel like if we're finally getting somewhere in this case.
"Yea that's great." He responded dully but Kate was too excited to notice it.
"Soon from now this case will be all closed." She continued.
"Look I got a high score!" Maddie cheered holding up the phone and showing the 209 points she had scored.
"That's amazing. How about today I call Grams and Alexis plus my dad and we'll all go for ice cream."
Maddie's face lit up. "Yea and then we could all have a fruit ninja challenge or maybe an angry bird one. Do you have cut the rope because he does and it's really cool and the monster is cute not ugly like the big scary ones. Can I have a double chocolate ice cream?"
Kate laughed at the girl's excitement and she held the her tiny hands as she lead them to the breakroom.
"Hey." Jim announced walking into the bar lugging a large bag.
"Hey dad" Kate responded stading up to greet her father.
"You must be Madison. Katie's told me so much about you."
Maddie looked Curious but not scared and Kate took it as a good sign that she wasn't trying to hide behind Kate's leg. Maybe it was because she knew the man had some connection to Kate.
"You're her father?" She asked almost like she still wasn't convinced.
"Yup and I brought something for you." He pulled out a box with an American girl doll.
"I bought some just like those for Katie when she was younger."
Kate looked at her father wondering why he had bought such an expensive gift for a child he barely met. It was no secret that he and Martha were close friends. They probably updated each other with details and he .
Less than 1 hour later Jim stood up. "Well I better get going."
"Okay dad I'll walk you out." Kate said standing up with him.
"Thanks for coming dad." She told him the moment they reached outside.
"The pleasure was all mine. Madison is a lovely girl." There was a moment of silence before he continued.
"She makes you happy, which is why i think you should adopt her." Kate froze.
"Don't let this opportunity pass you Katie. You have Rick ant the rest of us are here to help you and that little girl she needs you its fate." He told her.
"You sound like mom."
Well I knew she had to rub off on me sometime.
Kate giggled, "Thanks dad."
"Anytime Katie."
"Castle what's wrong?" Kate asked as she climbed into the bed next to her fiance.
"When were you going to tell me?" His eyes held no emotion, it was just a simple question but why was she nervous?
"Tell you what?" She questioned even though she was pretty sure she knew the answer."
"That Mrs Johnson called."
Her face fell. "Oh, wait how did you know she called?"
"I pressed it by accident but that's not the point, she called and you didn't tell me." He said.
"Castle why are you mad? So she called but the point is I got our time extended.
"Kate don't you get it I'm not mad that you didn't tell me she called. I'm mad that we almost lost Maddie and it's like you still don't know what you want. I don't want to lose her Kate." He ran his fingers through his hair a normal sign that showed he was angry.
"Actually now I do know what I want. I want us to be a family including Maddie I want us to be one big family, but I don't know if I'm ready. I don't want to screw this up." Kate said barely whispering her response.
Now he understood. "Kate you are so ready. the way you are with her is just amazing and I'm going to be by your side, Always."
"Then lets adopt her castle let's start our family she said pulling him in for a kiss.
