Chapter 10: Aliens and Soul-Bondings

It was all quiet on board the Sneaky Supplier, the Corellian XS Stock Light Freighter Laylahlu Secura, Ares Syndulla, Ashara Tano, Umakyo Ti, Katara Joma, Bengal Polo, Diana Martell and Timothy Kalaku called home as they ate breakfast in the dining room. Ashara Tano was a fifteen year old female Togruta who was a Jedi Knight-Sentinel Padawan of the Galactic Jedi Order located on the Planet of Tython, where the first Jedi had came to be. She was 5 and a half feet tall from the tips of her short montrals which gently curved inwards then outwards on the tips. Her three lekku reached her breasts and the middle of her back. Ashara's body was slender, athletic, muscular and very agile, allowing her to perform feats of agility beyond many of her fellow Jedi. Her skin was orange, montrals and lekku pure white with simplistic sky blue stripes rounding around them and flicking upwards in the centre of her montrals. She had a round face with white markings consisting of an upward arch at the top and centre of her forehead, two circular arches curving into the centre of her forehead with a circle opening to curve around her sky blue eyes and rejoin at the two circular inner arches on the sides of her forehead.

She wore a sky blue tunic reaching down to her mid-thighs and up her neck with long sleeves hugging her arms, white leggings, a pair of orange knee pads just above sky blue leather boots, a white leather belt with orange and blue pouches and clips arranged in a pattern around it, a silver, metal, hexagon belt buckle and a head-dress of silver, triangular teeth from a beast called an Akul she had hunted and killed in a Togrutan rite of passage on the Planet of Shili, birth place of the Togruta people, framing her forehead. Ashara's armour consisted of an orange set of torso plates covering her chest, back, belly and the inner half of her shoulders with shoulder pads of the same colour and material covering the rest of her shoulders all the way down to where the torso armour opened up around her armpits. Her forearms were also covered in the same armour, as were her elbows. Her friends and companions had voted her their leader and she vowed to lead them well. She looked as her boyfriend and fellow Jedi Knight and Togruta Umakyo Ti as he placed a spoonful of food on her plate, smiling at her. Grateful, Ashara smiled at him and thanked the Force the Jedi Order allowed relationships.

It was all thanks to a Jedi Sentinel named Bastila Shan, the ancestor of Grand Master Satele Shan, that the Jedi Order allowed love, happiness, marriage and family ever since Bastila Shan had discovered the difference between love and attachment and realized that positive emotions such as love and happiness actually strengthened a Jedi's connection to the Force and helped them resist the Dark Side rather than fall to it whereas negative emotions such as fear, anger, hate, despair, selfishness and jealousy led to the Dark Side of the Force. If there was any emotions that led to the Light Side of the Force, Ashara would say they were courage, happiness, love, joy, selflessness and serenity. As if reading her thoughts, Umakyo began brushing his hand over her sensitive lekku, drawing purrs of pleasure from her mouth. Umakyo smiled and stopped when he noticed the others staring at them with amused grins on their faces "Stay tame, lovebirds unless you want to snog right here, right now." Laylahlu smirked. Umakyo laughed, bearing the sharp teeth Togruta were known for. "I could say the same about you and Ares." He grinned and both Twileks blushed, drawing 'oooh's.

Umakyo was tall and muscular with a pair of two large montrals curving inwards slightly and three short lekku reaching down to his chest and upper back. His skin was deep red, eyes black, face markings, montrals and lekku white with deep blue stripes on his montrals and lekku. His facial markings consisted of a dot between his forehead, nose and eyes and where two lines formed a wide v on his forehead connected to two lines which ran around his eyes and down his face, joining on his chin and forming another v. Another dot was located above the first dot between the lines forming a v. He wore a full body set of deep blue stereotypical Jedi Armour with a black robe over the top. A black band of metal arched over his forehead with a diamond in the middle and a thinner diamond hanging from it. He was also fifteen years old, though nearing his sixteenth birthday and was a Jedi Knight-Guardian Padawan. His intelligence, wisdom, memory and intuition had earned him the praise and admiration of many a Jedi.

Laylahlu Secura was also fifteen years old, a Jedi Consular-Shadow Padawan and very sassy, cheery and mischievous. She was slim and built like a runner, considering she was very, very fast when it came to speed and possessed extraordinary reflexes, eyesight, stealth and power with the Force, even able to render herself invisible which was something many Jedi Consular-Shadows learned later on in their apprenticeship but she already knew how to it, much to the dismay of anyone she pranked. Her two lekku reached her back to her waist and swayed with every movement she made. Laylahlu's skin was sapphire blue with violet eyes and stripes curling around her lekku. As befitting of a Jedi Consular despite the colours, she wore a long, ornate robe coloured violet, sapphire blue, black and white. Like most female Twileks, Laylahlu wore a leather Twilek headband over her forehead with a piece of metal, shaped like a square at the top and framing her eyes and nose at the bottom decorated with engravings that wrapped around her ear corns, as female Twileks lacked humanoid ears and had a strip of leather holding it together below her lekku at the back of her head.

Ares Syndulla shared their age of fifteen years old. He was a Jedi Consular-Sage, very strong, muscular and very powerful with the Force. He could smell scents even other Jedi with good noses could not. His two lekku reached his legs over his back and swayed with every movement he made. Ares's skin was emerald green with warm brown eyes and spots all over his lekku. He wore a black long-sleeved tunic reaching down to his mid-thighs, white trousers, a deep brown tabard consisting of two thick, wide strips of dyed leather crossing over his back, shoulders, chest and stomach and secured with a white leather belt and a pair black boots. To cover his head, he wore a wrap of depe brown cloth around it.

Katara Joma, the female Cathar, was a fifteen year old Trooper-in-training of the Republic. She was muscular, tough, gritty and spoke in a low voice. Her face was catlike with a mane of hair on her head and pointed feline ears. The rest of her body had short fur covered by clothing and armour. Her hands and feet were pawed and had retractable claws. Her teeth were those of a cat's and so were her eyes except the pupils were round. Many people would have thought Cathar were the hybrids between Humans and cats if it was not impossible for humans and cats to breed. Katara's fur was light brown with black stripes pointing towards the middle of her face and forming Vs on her forehead. Her chin, the front of her neck and the palms of her paws were blonde, her eyes golden and her shaggy mane of hair black and reaching down to her jaw-line. She wore a deep blue, long sleeved shirt with white, scaled leather over her shoulders, upper back, chest and forearms. A pair of white trousers with a black belt covered her legs along with deep blue cloth wrapping around her lower legs.

Bengal Polo was more like a lion and a tiger combined with a humanoid. A shaggy, blonde, lion-like mane of hair flowed around his neck and shoulders. His fur was silver with deep gray tiger like markings and his eyes were blonde as well. He wore pretty much the same as Katara because their clothing was what most young Cathar who enlisted in the Grand Army of the Republic wore. Diana Martell and Timothy Kalaku both bore the colourful skin and flowing head tendrils that floated and swayed in the air as they had a mind of their own. Like the rest of them, Diana and Timothy were both fifteen but they already knew how to pilot a Smuggler ship by themselves and how to shoot a bottle twenty feet away with a single shot from a Blaster Pistol. Diana was slim with rose red skin, tipped with rose pink on the ends of her head tendrils, hands and feet and her eyes rose blue. She wore a typical Smuggler's outfit of trousers, boots, long-sleeved shirts, jackets and belts. She preferred to wear purple and white.

Timothy on the other hand, was a bit more buff and muscular with snow white skin tipped with ice blue on the ends of his head tendrils, hands and feet. He had violet eyes and preferred to wear blue, purple and black trousers, boots, long-sleeved shirts, jackets and belts. "You know, I really think we should go looking for them. What if they find us here and think we are enemies or spies?" He asked. "We certainly do not want the wrong people knowing we are here." Diana added. "If they come, I think a few good shots from my Asssault Cannon should scare them away." Bengal quipped. "And what if they come back with more fellows and start slaughtering us, hmm?" Katara asked, squeezing his thigh under the table. "No one in this world have ever seen people like us. Who knows what they will do?" Ares said. "Definitely no chance of being welcomed with open arms if we go in with a big bang." Laylahlu muttered. "If all goes right and there is no big bang, we should be fine and the people will be curious." Umakyo said. "First we have to find our fellow Children of Sunheela." Ashara said then she tensed.

"What is it, Ashara? What is wrong?" Katara asked, suddenly alert. "I sense presences outside. I think they are friendly and only two of them are Humanoid." Ashara said. "Let us go outside and see who they are." Laylahlu suggested. "We should grab our weapons just in case." Bengal added. Everyone nodded, stood up from the table, grabbed their weapons and walked out of the dining room, lowering the entrance ramp to their ship and walking slowly outside on high alert. Thanks to their natural Togruta abilities imparted by their montrals, Ashara and Umakyo could sense the approaching presences even without the Force. Seeing which direction both Togruta were fixated on, Laylahlu, Ares, Katara, Bengal, Diana and Timothy turned around and aimed their weapons. "Come out where we can see and put any weapons you have On. The. Ground." Ashara commanded. "We mean you no harm. None of us. We swear by the Force and the stars." A female Humanoid's voice replied.

Ashara thought it out. She already knew some Athelon natives knew about the Force, especially Elf-Faes. "That remains to be seen. Does as she said and we will not fire or attack." Umakyo added. Two winged and horned Humanoids stepped out of the bushes. "Elf-Faes?" Laylahlu asked. "Yes, we are and we have come a long way to find you so all of us find what we seek." The male said. "What do you mean?" Laylahlu asked cautiously. "We seek to find our fellow Children of Sunheela as we are them ourselves." The female said. "What are your names? Who else is with you?" Ares inquired. Both Elf-Faes glanced at the bushes, back at them and gently waved a hand each. The Alien's jaws dropped and their eyes widened as lions, red foxes, tigers and elk, two of each, a male and a female, appeared from the undergrowth, followed by peregrine falcons, boa constrictor snakes, snowy owls, hawks, bald eagles and doves, again two of each, one male and one female who perched on the branches of a tree. The two doves flew down and the two elks walked up to the two Elf-Faes, the male dove perching on the male Elf-Fae;s shoulder and the female elk nuzzling him fondly, the female dove perched on the female Elf-Fae's shoulder and the male elk nuzzling her fondly.

Laylahlu, Ares, Ashara, Umakyo, Katara, Bengal, Diana and Timothy's eyes widened as they stared at the other sixteen animals, instantly feeling like they knew them. Their instincts and the Force were compelling them to step forward towards the animals and so they did. As if feeling the same compulsions, the animals step forward too. Ashara quickly found herself drawn towards the male lion and the female peregrine falcon and they were drawn to her. Umakyo was drawn to the female lioness and the male snowy owl and they were drawn to him. Laylahlu was drawn to the female boa constrictor snake and the male peregrine falcon and they were drawn to her. Ares was drawn to the male boa constrictor snake and the female snowy owl and they were drawn to him. Katara was drawn to the male tiger and the female bald eagle and they were drawn to her. Bengal was drawn to the female tiger and the male bald eagle and they were drawn to him. Diana was drawn to the male fox and the female hawk and they were drawn to her. Timothy was drawn to the female fox and the male hawk and they were drawn to him.

As if they were trance, the eight aliens and the sixteen animals moved closer and closer to each other and Ashara, Umakyo, Laylahlu, Ares, Katara, Bengal, Diana and Timothy held out their hands with their palms up and level with the animals' beaks and snouts. As one, they touched and with flashes of bright light, felt magic and the Force surge through them all, connecting their minds, souls, bodies and spirits until they could all sense each other's emotions, read each other's thoughts and feel each other's sensations, in that very moment, they instantly they had found and activated their Bonds with their Familiars. They drew back, panting and shuddering. Each of them could feel the minds of their Familiars connect with their minds and they startled when voices spoke in their heads.

"Ashara?"/ "Simba? Olympia?"/ "Umakyo?"/ "Lyanna? Kialandi?"/ "Laylahlu?"/ "Selena? Diver?"/ "Ares?"/ "Strangler? Hevira?"/ "Katara?"/ "Diego? Freedom?"/ "Bengal?"/ "Shira? Sable?"/ "Diana?"/ "Jasper? Carina?"/ "Timothy?"/ "Roxanne? Harris?" and along with that, they all could sense each other's joy, happiness and relief at having finally found their Familiars. Simba was the male lion, Lyanna the female. Olympia was the female peregrine falcon, Diver the male. Strangler was the male boa constrictor, Selena the female. Kialandi was the male snowy owl, Hevira the female. Jasper was the male fox, Roxanne the female. Harris was the male hawk, Carina the female. Diego was the male tiger, Shira the female. Sable was the male bald eagle, Freedom the female. Beaming, the two Elf-Faes and their Familiars walked forward, gazing at them with joy, relief and happiness in their eyes.

"My name is Serenity Angel'sdaughter. These two are my Familiars Olive the dove (she gestured to the female dove on her shoulder) and Grazer the elk (she gestured at the male elk standing beside her)." The female Elf-Fae said. She had forest green eyes and horns, golden-brown skin, pure white, curly, long hair, a slim, delicate figure and black, earth brown, forest green, golden and pure white wing feathers. Serenity wore a sleeveless, forest green tunic reaching down to her knees, white leggings, cloth wound around her arm and cloth sash wrapped around her torso, earth brown boots and a white leather belt. "My name is Triton Trinian'sson. These two are my Familiars Peace the dove (he gestured at the dove perched on his shoulder) and Velvet the elk (he gestured at the female elk standing at his side. Triton had ice-blue eyes and horns, earth brown skin, iron grey hair, a strong, muscular figure and black, iron gray, ice blue, earth brown and white wing feathers. He wore a grey, sleeveless tunic and leather boots, black leggings and a leather earth brown belt.

"It is a pleasure to meet you." Ashara said politely. "We apologize for our hostility." Umakyo added. Serenity and Triton smiled kindly which the aliens returned and focused their attention on their Familiars to get a better look at them. Olympia the female peregrine falcon had blue-black feathers on her back and long pointed wings with indistinct darker barrings, her wing tips were also black. The white feathers on her underside were barred with thin clean bands of black and her eyes were piercing blue. Simba the male lion had yellowish-red fur, a deep, rich reddish-brown mane and black eyes. Kialandi had pure white feathers with a few black spots on his tail feathers and the primary and secondary feathers of his wings and yellow eyes. Lyanna the female lion had pure white fur and ice blue eyes. Diver the male peregrine falcon had slate grey feathers on his back and long pointed wings with indistinct darker barrings and black wing tips, rusty underside feathers with thin, clean bands of black and piercing green eyes.

Selena the female boa constrictor had black scales with violet 'saddle' markings, growing more pronounced towards her tail and equally violet eyes. Hevira the female Snowy Owl had pure white feathers with black spots all over her body except for her facial disk and golden yes. Strangler the male boa constrictor had deep brown scales, emerald green 'saddle' markings down his body, growing more pronounced on his tail and emerald green eyes. Freedom the female bald eagle had dark brown feathers, a white head and tail and yellow eyes. Diego the male tiger had reddish-orange fur, black stripes, white underside and blue eyes. Sable the male bald eagle was similarly coloured to Freedom but his head and tail were more blondish and his eyes golden. Shira the female tiger had blondish-white fur, dark brown stripes, white underside and green eyes. Carina the female hawk had deep brown plumage with a lighter underside and yellow eyes.

Jasper the male fox had reddish-brown fur with white on his belly, chest, chin, paws and tail and green eyes. Harris the male hawk had dark brown plumage with a lighter underside and golden eyes. Roxanne was an albino female fox with pure white fur and red eyes. Peace the male pigeon had pure white feathers and blue eyes. Velvet the female elk had silver with darker patches and black eyes. Olive the female pigeon had green and purple feathers and blue eyes. Grazer had grey fur with lighter patches and black eyes. Each of the Familiars were larger and had intelligence that was on par with their own. Suddenly overcome by joy, Ashara, Umakyo, Laylahlu, Ares, Katara, Bengal, Diana and Timothy embraced their newfound Familiars and were nuzzled affectionately by them in return. Serenity, Triton and their Familiars watched on happily and waited until they parted before speaking. "We have travelled a long way to find you and now we must find our fellow Children of Sunheela before it is too late." They said.

Aniu woke up with a yawn and sighed contentedly as she felt Hiccup, Astrid and Nava waking up beside her, their bodies pressed and curled and overlapped with each other to form a comfortable sleeping position in which they shared body heat, or cold, in Nava's case. Only mere seconds after she had yawned, her Soul-Mates woke up with their own yawns and stretched, nuzzling each other as a 'good morning' greeting. Aniu returned the greeting, rubbing her head against Hiccup, Astrid and Nava as they rubbed their heads against each other's and hers. Then she sensed Heatwave's presence in her awake. "Good morning, Ni." He yawned. "Good morning, wave." She replied. "Does anyone else sense something really good will happen today?" Nava inquired. "You are not the only one, Nava." Icicle said. "Is breakfast ready yet? Because I am hungry." Toothless inquired. "You are always hungry, bud, just like me." Hiccup replied. "Yes, it is a wonder how you are still so slim." Astrid said. "He does a lot of running, Astrid. That must the reason why." Stormfly said as they got up and walked over to the campfire for breakfast.

"Ah, good morning, students. It is a lovely day today." Solarfira sang. The Phoenix was looking exceptionally radiant, her ruby red, golden and fire blue feathers gleaming and steaming in the early morning mist. They ate their breakfast in peace and quiet and washed the bowls, plates, cups, spoons, knives and forks before putting them away, all the while feeling as though something very important was about to happen until it did. Hiccup, Astrid, Aniu and Nava gasped and startled as they sensed a wave of magic and a surge in the energy field Elf-Faes knew as the Force. Toothless, Stormfly, Heatwave, Icicle, Sorina, Sprinter, Stryker, Akira, Caruso, Edme, Zena and Artemis sensed it too, thought not to the same extent. The sensation soon passed and the twelve Children of Sunheela, Soul-Mates, Soul-Dragons and Familiars, were left reeling and gasping. "What was that?" Aniu asked, holding a clawed paw to her scaly chest. "Whatever it was, it felt...good." Nava said. "It felt close by. Should we go look for it?" Astrid inquired. They looked towards Elenia, Solarfira, Lunastar and Softmane who stared at Hiccup as if expecting him to make a decision. "I think we should wait for it to find us." He said and everyone nodded.

"All right. First of today: Archery. Is there bows, arrows, crossbows and bolts you can find in your Home?" Elenia asked. "We could check. I think we passed by an armoury in our Home when we were exploring it." Nava said. "Very well. Find what you need and meet us back here." Softmane said. Hiccup, Astrid, Aniu and Nava nodded, shape-shifted back into their Humanoid Forms and pulled out their Children of Sunheela Pendants. "Home." They said and were instantly teleported back to the same place they reappeared whenever they used their necklaces. "I think the armoury is this way." Nava said and led his Soul-Mates down the hall until they came to a door marked with a sign. "Armoury. Well, here we are." Astrid said and pushed open the door. They stepped inside the room where a wide range of weapons, ranging from swords, daggers, axes, maces, hammers, bows and arrows, crossbows and bolts, spears, bolas, shields and suits of Elf-Fae and Viking armour were kept inside.

Hiccup, Astrid, Aniu and Nava took a few seconds to admire the plethora of armour and weapons before grabbing a number of each weapon, enough for them, their Soul-Dragons and a few extra, shrinking them and packing the shrunken weapons inside baskets they had brought with them. "You guys think we have everything we need?" Hiccup asked. "Yep. I have a feeling archery will not be the only weapon work we will be doing." Aniu said. They hoisted the baskets onto their backs, pulled out their Pendants and said "The Cove.", reappearing right in front of their Soul-Dragons and teachers. "We brought what you ordered as well as other weapons because we believe you four will train us in using other weapons." Hiccup said and they emptied the weapons onto the ground in front of their teachers. "Good work. These are perfect and yes, archery will not be the other form of combat we will train you in." Lunastar said.

"We have set up targets over there. If you eight are ready, let us begin. Now pick your bow and a quiver of arrows." Solarfira said. Hiccup, Astrid, Aniu and Nava helped Toothless, Stormfly, Heatwave and Icicle pick a bow and a quiver of arrows each before walking up to the targets and helping them hold the bow, pull an arrow out of their quivers, nock it and pull back, correcting their stance. "Am I doing it correctly?" Heatwave asked as Aniu stood behind, lifting his arms up and spreading his legs slightly. "Yes. Remember, pull the arrow back to your cheek gripping the string with your three middle fingers, sight and aim your target then relax your fingers to let go of the string and release the arrow. Give it a try. Remember, use Wind magic if you need help." Aniu advised. Heatwave followed her instructions and let go of the string, releasing the arrow which shot at the target and hit an outer ring 15 feet away. "Good shot! Not bad for a first timer!" Aniu praised and Heatwave smiled. "I had a good teacher." He said. "Oh, stop. Do not flatter me." Aniu complained, gently punching him on one shoulder.

Toothless, Stormfly and Icicle were having similar luck and success, much to the delight of Hiccup, Astrid, Nava, Elenia, Solarfira, Lunastar and Softmane. The four Soul-Dragons-In-Humanoid-Forms continued shooting arrows at the target until they had hit the bull's eyes several times then it was Hiccup, Astrid, Aniu and Nava's turn to do archery. Toothless, Stormfly, Heatwave and Icicle gave them their bows and quivers of remaining arrows, pulling the rest out of the targets for them before standing aside to watch. Hiccup, Astrid, Aniu and Nava each nocked an arrow, drew back the string and loosed. Their arrows shot through the air and impacted the targets, sinking into and around the bull's eye. Toothless, Stormfly, Heatwave and Icicle whooped, cheered and applauded. Hiccup, Astrid, Aniu and Nava smiled and bowed slightly before loosing several more arrows as the minutes passed. Many first timers did not even hit the target or held their bow and arrows but thanks to their Soul-Rider's memories and their own instincts, Toothless, Stormfly, Heatwave and Icicle did very well.

Soul-Bonded Dragons and Riders often learned very quickly and efficiently from their Soul-Bond's memories and the instincts that pass over to them. It was for that reason Hiccup, Toothless, Astrid, Stormfly, Aniu, Heatwave, Nava and Icicle had been flying through their lessons, learning a new skill in only a matter of two hours, give or take. Because they were doing so well with archery, Elenia, Solarfira, Lunastar and Softmane told them to stop, pack their weapons away and Toothless, Stormfly, Heatwave and Icicle to grab fishing rods and bait once Hiccup, Astrid, Aniu and Nava grabbed them from their Home. "Is there anything else we need to grab?" Aniu asked. "Except for shovels, no." Elenia said. The four Soul-Mates nodded, teleported back to their Home where they grabbed fishing rods, bait and shovels and returned to the Cove. "I assume you four know how to fish?" Lunastar inquired, gazing at them and smiling when they nodded.

Elenia, Solarfira, Lunastar and Solarfira led their students over to the lake and told Hiccup, Astrid, Aniu and Nava to shape-shift back into their Dragon Forms, which they did then told Toothless, Stormfly, Heatwave and Icicle to do the same, which they did. Toothless, Stormfly, Heatwave and Icicle were then instructed with teaching Hiccup, Astrid, Aniu and Nava how to fish. To begin, the four dragons led their Soul-Riders-in-Dragon-Forms into the water. Dragons usually fished either diving into the water from the sky, swimming around, gobbling up any fish they saw and then flying back out or by wading into the water and eating the fish there. The second option was what they were going to teach them as Hiccup, Astrid, Aniu and Nava could not fly yet. At first, the four Soul-Mates made too much noise and movement, scaring away the fish and leaving them empty-mouthed but they soon got the hang of it and began catching fish, wading back onto dry land and depositing them in a pile on the ground. Toothless, Stormfly, Heatwave and Icicle told them that other dragons usually did not steal another dragon's fish so they had nothing to worry about unless another animal wandered by and stole them.

Soon, it was time for Hiccup, Astrid, Aniu and Nava to teach Toothless, Stormfly, Heatwave and Icicle how to fish in their Humanoid Forms with fishing rods and bait. The lesson began with quite a few difficulties as fishing rods were quite complicated to use but they managed and caught some fish with a couple of hours, even though they had to loosen the line when the fish began fighting and reeling it in when the fish stopped moving. Elenia, Solarfira, Lunastar and Softmane were pleased with their progress even though Icicle asked why they had to learn how to fish in their Humanoid Forms when fishing was much easier and quicker in their Dragon Forms so their teachers explained why and they agreed with their logic and reasoning. "This is so you four can learn how humans get their food and thus gain a greater respect and understanding of them and also blend in more to avoid attracting attention to yourselves." They said.

Next lesson was one they were most excited for. "Now that fishing is over and you eight can catch your own fish in which ever Form you are in, it is time to teach you eight how to...glide so you eight may learn how to fly." Elenia said. "YES!" Hiccup, Toothless, Astrid, Stormfly, Aniu, Heatwave, Nava and Icicle whooped. "Wait!" Several voices shouted. Sorina, Stryker, Caruso and Zena flew down from the sky and Sprinter, Akira, Edme and Artemis ran over to them, having just returned from a reconnaissance trip. "Those presences we sensed before, they are very nearly here." Caruso panted. "And there are a lot of them, about 20 or so Humanoids and Familiar Animals." Edme added. "From what we gathered, they are trying to find us, said that they are also Children of Sunheela." Sorina said and that instantly gathered everyone's attention. "If they are then we should go look for find them. Right?" Sprinter said, looking around at everyone hopefully. "Of course we should! Let us go right now!" Stryker screeched. "They might go looking for us in the wrong place and be found by someone hostile." Akira added. "Let us see what Elenia, Solarfira, Lunastar and Softmane have to say." Zena said, gazing at the Griffin, Phoenix, Alicorn and Hippogriff who nodded. "Then it is settled. We find them before someone else does. Can we go now?" Artemis asked.

"All right, let us go. Toothless, Stormfly, Heatwave, Icicle, I think you four be in your Dragon-Forms." Hiccup said. "All right, I just hope they will attack us as soon as they see us." Toothless replied and shape-shifted back into his Night Fury Form, as did Stormfly into her Deadly Nadder Form, Heatwave into his Summer Dragon Form and Icicle into her Winter Dragon Form. Hiccup, Astrid, Aniu and Nava mounted Toothless, Stormfly, Heatwave and Icicle and they flew out of the Cove, landing outside and waiting for Sorina, Sprinter, Stryker, Akira, Caruso, Edme, Zena and Artemis to join them. When they did, Hiccup, Astrid, Aniu and Nava dismounted their Soul-Dragons and mounted Sprinter, Akira, Edme and Artemis instead so when they found the other Children of Sunheela, they would not appear hostile or threatening. "Lead the way." They told Sorina, Stryker, Caruso and Zena who flew ahead of them with Toothless, Stormfly, Heatwave and Icicle behind their mounted-on-Dire-Wolf-and-Reindeer-back Soul-Riders.

Following the four Barn Owls and Golden Eagles to where they had last seen the other Children of Sunheela as Sprinter, Akira, Edme and Artemis tracked their scents, Hiccup, Astrid, Aniu and Nava felt a dawning sense an feeling they were going to find people very special to them, people they shared a Soul-Bond with and instead of them being more Soul-Mates, it seemed as though the Bond they shared was one of...Soul-Siblings. Hiccup, Astrid, Aniu and Nava knew they were very close to finding them at last and the feeling was...indescribable, similar to how it was when they found each other. The four Soul-Mate's thoughts were interrupted when Sorina, Stryker, Caruso and Zena flew back to them. "They are just up ahead and waiting for us." They reported. Glancing at each other, Hiccup, Astrid, Aniu and Nava dismounted, took deep breaths and walked side by side until they saw them at last.

Time stopped as Hiccup Haddock and Laylahlu Secura, Astrid Hofferson and Ares Syndulla, Aniu Namara'sdaughter and Ashara Tano, Nava Theodore'sson and Umakyo Ti stared at each other and slowly stepped closer and closer until they were right in front of each other. They held out their hands and slowly moved them forward until they were met and their fingers curled around each other. The millisecond they touched, a flashed of bright light glowed around them as their minds, memories, souls, bodies, emotions and spirits connected, bringing with it a feeling of joy, relief, happiness and safety. Eventually, the glow faded but the feeling still remained, even as they parted and moved backwards to get a better look at each other. Instantly, they knew each other's names and could read each other's thoughts, sense each other's emotions and feel what the other felt. "Aniu?"/"Ashara?"/ "Nava?"/ "Umakyo?"/ "Hiccup?"/ "Laylahlu?"/ "Astrid?"/ "Ares?"

Then, overcome by emotion and the need for psychical contact with their new-found Soul-Siblings, Hiccup and Laylahlu, Astrid and Ares, Aniu and Ashara, Nava and Umakyo stepped forward, leaned in and wrapped their arms and wings if they had them, around each other in their first embrace which seemed to last for hours until they separated again. None of them knew what to say but they all knew they needed to get to the Cove as quickly as possible. "Shall we go?" Laylahlu, Ares, Ashara and Umakyo asked. "Yes, we shall?" Hiccup, Astrid, Aniu and Nava replied. Laylahlu, Ares, Ashara and Umakyo smiled and turned to their Familiars, their fellow aliens, Serenity, Triton and their Familiars. "Come on, guys, let us go." They called. Diver, Selena, Hevira, Strangler, Olympia, Simba, Kialandi and Lyanna were the first to follow and the rest followed their lead. Together, the large group walked to the Cove. Toothless, Stormfly, Heatwave and Icicle flew down into the bowl while the rest of them walked through the entrance into the depths of the valley. The Cove drew gasps and 'wow's of awe at its sheer beauty and size, even more so when they entered the camp and saw the Griffin, Fire Phoenix, Alicorn, Hippogriff and dragons gathering around to stare at them in awe, wonder and curiosity.

Elenia, Lunastar and Softmane were the first ones to greet them but Solarfira was strangely absent. "Well, it appears you found what you sensed was coming. Congratulations." Elenia said. "We have found our Soul-Siblings, their friends and their Familiars, Master." Hiccup said. "While you were gone, a dozen dragons, an Air Phoenix and a Peryton have arrived. They are also a part of our destinies." Lunastar said. "Solarfira is with them and she and the Peryton need to talk to us. As for you, Hiccup, I think your Soul-Sister and Electra are quite taken by each other." Softmane said, directing Hiccup's attention to Laylahlu and Electra who were staring at each other with rapt attention as if drawn to one another. Violet was tugging on her sister's tail but Electra did not notice so Bolt had to drag his little sister away. Slowly, the Skrill dragon and Twilek alien moved closer and closer and Laylahlu reached her hand out by instinct. Electra extended her snout and they touched, resulting in a bright glow of light as they activated their Soul-Bond.

Hiccup, Dive and Selena sensed what was happening as they Bonded and the glow faded as Laylahlu and Electra separated, staring at each other. "What just happened?" the female Twilek asked in amazement after a moment of silence had passed between them. "Laylahlu, you and Electra the Skrill have just activated your Soul-Bond. You are now her Soul-Rider and she is now your Soul-Dragon until the end of eternity. Toothless and I have already done it too. Do not worry, we will explain what it is and entails to you." Hiccup explained, petting Toothless on the head. "Skrill?" Laylahlu asked. "It is what her breed is called. Because there are so many different breeds of dragons with different abilities, we have to call them something to distinguish between them." Hiccup answered. "Oh. I feel...different but in a good way. I think the Force meant for us all to be together." Laylahlu said.

Beaming at the discovery of a new Soul-Bonded Dragon and Rider pair, Elenia, Lunastar and Softmane led them to where Solarfira was with the new arrivals. Upon seeing the biggest dragon there, Hiccup and Ashara had different reactions. Hiccup gasped and stepped as a memory surfaced in his mind from when he was only a baby lying in his crib. Another baby was in the second crib beside his. Both of them were laughing and reaching for a giant dragon's owl-like face as it reached out to touch them with a massive, sharp claw, obviously meaning no harm but to the dragon's surprise, Hiccup's crib rocked and startled the dragon into accidently scratching his chin, causing him to cry loudly and the dragon to snatch his claw away. Seeing someone watching them, the dragon moved away to stare at and sniff the person until someone else threw a weapon at the dragon, scaring it into breathing fire at the intruder and knocking other the other crib.

The first person ran to forward to catch the other baby before it hit the ground. "Valka, take Hannah and run!" He heard his father's voice scream. "No! Don't!" His mother yelled and the dragon returned his attention to her and the child she held in her arms. "Hold on!" His father's voice shouted and Hiccup remembered his baby self being picked up in Stoick's arms just as the dragon snatched his mother and twin sister and fly away with them. "NO! STOICK!" She screamed, accompanied by Hannah's wails. "VALKA! HANNAH!" Stoick roared but it was too late for him to do anything except hold Hiccup and watch the dragon fly his mother and twin sister away. "Stoick!" Valka and Hannah's screams grew more distant. "Valka...Hannah..." Stoick's voice grew from despair and baby Hiccup whimpered. The memory ended and Hiccup was left staring at the dragon that was differently coloured and smaller but still the same breed as the one that had taken his mother and twins sister away. He knew he could not blame the dragon for the sins of another dragon of the same breed but that did not make losing his mother and twin sister any less painful.

Then suddenly, he remembered what the Vikings of Berk called this particular breed of dragon and how much pain it brought Stoick whenever the event or the dragon breed was mentioned. Stormcutters were a member of the Sharp Class of dragon categorizations and were 60 feet long with a wingspan of 75 feet. It was a stream-lined dragon with an almost humanoid torso, wide chest and narrower waist supported by a pair of long, powerful, hind legs tipped in strong, sharp talons. The tail was as long or longer than the body, cylindrical and tapered with a trio of 10 feet long, semi-circular, serrated tail fins extending along the posterior portion, two laterally and one dorsally. The neck was relatively short but extremely flexible, able to rotate 180 degrees and supported an interiorly flattened, roughly spherical head. The powerful jaws aligned in an under-bite, the nose decorated with a row of almost diamond-shaped fleshy projections, from the sides of which and above the eyes also grew a chevron-shaped flexible brow, widest above the snout and tapering to the tips. From the top and sides of the head splayed out two pairs of flexible crests, one behind the other in a fan shape, the edges adorned with thick tassels and the overall appearance resembling an ornate crown. Large spinal, rear-curved spikes arose at the base of the neck, reaching up to five feet tall between the wings and continuing with decreasing size down the length of the tail.

The wings were unique even amongst other dragons in this species, two pairs both attached one pair above the other in nearly the same location on the upper torso and able to move independently. They were roughly bat like, with a single, large, dexterous, long, curved, sharp claw on the main joint of each of the four wings and the lower pair could be folded and used as front limbs on land. Just above the legs was also a pair of secondary wings, triangular in shape and together nearly fifteen feet wide, providing a huge surface area. The rounded mouth and unique internal structure allowed this dragon to breathe a sustained torus, or vortex of fire at great distances. Stormcutters were said the be the kings and queens of agility, flexibility and manoeuvrability, an incredibly fast flier, talented, skilled flier and unmatched in agility even by a Night Fury.

Storcmutters were a mysterious breed of dragon often classed in inappropriate categories due to its relative rarity and unique combinations of features. With a regal, no-nonsense attitude, Stormcutters were strong-willed leaders, often the head of nests or second to Alphas, this trait enhanced by their extreme intelligence. They were a curious species, liking to investigate new things or situations they found unfamiliar but would do so with an air of caution and great alertness to their surroundings. In fact, it was said to be nearly impossible to catch a Stormcutter off guard and had been correct many times. The four main wings, two secondary wings and three tail fins Stormcutters possessed allowed them to perform any move imaginable in the air, even other dragon masters of the skies who, even though some of them may be faster, could not match a Stormcutter move for move in sharp turns and rolls.

The unique fire of a Stormcutter also rendered them formidable foes, flames released in a tight, aimed whirlwind that allowed the attack to continue in an unbroken stream up to 100 feet or more and upon contact with the target is devastating, the vortex thoroughly engulfing whatever it hit. Stormcutters would not attack unless provoked and would use all other possible outlets before expelling precious fire so they rarely missed a shot either, flaring of the head crests and loud, pounding roars acting as the first line of warnings and bites and slashes with the sharp fangs in their mouths and equally sharp claws on their wings and feet just as if not more devastating than their fire. Stormcutters were invaluable allies however. They were understanding and analytical, able to read people sometimes better than the person can themselves, making them excellent judges of character and allowing them to pick up on emotional, mental and psychical stated quickly and act accordingly, whether by comforting or attacking. Stormcutters were unwaveringly loyal and trustworthy in every manner, following given rules and instructions to the best of their abilities and defending friends, family and innocents to their very last breath. If anyone angered, threatened or injured a member of this species an immediate retaliation was very likely but given time they were also forgiving, if not more cautious around such a character.

The Stormcutter in front of them was a young male and had sky blue scales, white under scales and the rear edges of the four wings and tail fins, the eyes, spinal spikes, crests and horns were yellow. The poor dragon was obviously injured with wounds scattered over his body, unable to get up and breathing laboriously. Ten Terrible Terrors were perched on the injured Stormcutter along with another Phoenix very similar to Solarfira but obviously of the Air Element and a Peryton. The first male Terrible Terror had pure white scales, orange eyes and wing membranes and sky blue horns, spinal crests and tail tip. The first female Terrible Terror had midnight black scales, deep blue wing membranes and deep red eyes, spinal crests, under-scales, horns and tail tip. The second female had violet scales, sapphire blue eyes, under-scales, wing membranes, spinal crests, horns and tail tip. The second male had deep brown scales, emerald green eyes, under-scales, wing membranes, spinal crests, horns and tail tip.

The third female had brown scales, blonde eyes, under-scales and wing membranes and black spinal crests, horns and tail tip. The fourth female had cream coloured scales, apricot eyes and wing membranes and cinnamon coloured horns, spinal crests and tail tip. The third male had bronze scales, hazel eyes and under-scales, copper wing membranes, horns, spinal crests and tail tip. The fourth male had amber scales, yellow eyes and under-scales, golden wing membranes, horns, spinal crests and tail tip. The fifth male had cyan scales, lavender eyes, spinal crests, horns and tail tip and turquoise wing membranes. The fifth female had pure white scales, golden eyes, horns, spinal crests and tail tip and silver wing membranes. "My name is Skywalker." the injured Stormcutter said. "My name is Rexter." The first male Terrible Terror said. "My name is Luxiri." (The first female). "Plasma." The second female. "Rebellion." The second male. "Tigress." The third female. "Katrian." The fourth female. "Elliot and this is my brother." The third male gestured at the fourth male. "Elias." He said. "Travis." The fifth male. "Serena." The fifth female.

The Peryton was a female. She had the body, antlers, head, fur, legs, rear hooves and ears of a stag and the wings, beak, hind claws, tail feathers and eyes of an eagle. Fur became feathers on her back, shoulders and upper legs. Her fur was wood brown, her feathers mahogany and her eyes, hooves, beak, antlers and claws amber. The Air Phoenix was a male and the same body as Solarfira but instead of heat and fire, a breeze drifted around him and he had pure white feathers, sky blue eyes, talons, beak, cheeks, chest feathers and the undersides of his wings and tail feathers. "I am Treewing. Well met, young ones. I am sorry I could not come sooner but I was needed elsewhere until now. I will be taking Solarfira's place as your teachers because she has another role to play. Solarfira, if you will." The Peryton turned her majestic head to look at the Fire Phoenix and she stepped forward, closer to..."Aniu, this Air Phoenix is Breezius and he and I are your...Soul-Phoenixes." She said and everyone gasped except for Elenia, Lunastar, Softmane and Treewing.

"What do you mean, Solarfira? What is a Soul-Phoenix?" Aniu asked. "A Soul-Phoenix is another Soul-Bond, much like Soul-Mates, Soul-Dragons, Familiars and Soul-Siblings but with a Phoenix of your Elements. They serve as guiders, protectors, advisors, healers and many other things. They prevent you from turning evil and or becoming a Hags-Fiend." Solarfira continued and everyone gasped when she mentioned the last words. "It...it is...p...possible to be...become a Ha...Ha...Hags-Fiend?" Aniu stammered, her horror much the same as everyone else's. "Yes, it is but it takes a while and involves breaking someone in every way they can be broken, by torture, rape, abuse, brainwashing and subjecting them to a Hags-Fiend's way of life until they begin changing, gaining the mind, body, heart, magic, instincts and urges of a Hags-Fiend until they are a Hags-Fiend who suffer from low population numbers and have a much different way of breeding from Elf-Faes, other Humanoids and dragons which is why they capture Children of Sunheela, Elf-Faes, dragons, Humanoids and try to change them into Hags-Fiends by means of endless, relentless torture, rape, abuse and brainwashing more brutal and horrifying than any of you can." Solarfira was again interrupted by Icicle who had a horrified and traumatised expression on her face.

"I can imagine one thing they do and that is kill dragonets of no more than four years old by tearing them limb from limb and bone and bone while they are still kicking and screaming." Tears began to pour down her face and Heatwave immediately began comforting her. "It happened to my siblings while I could do nothing except scream and struggle!" Icicle continued in a heart-broken wail and Nava instantly began helping Heatwave comfort her along with Zena and Artemis. Now they knew why Icicle was hiding such deep sorrow. "It broke me so much all I could not eat, I could not sleep, I could not drink, I could not move and I all could do was cry and try to kill myself. If it was not for Blizzard, Heatwave and Sunshine, I would have dried and we had only been separated from our packs of Winter Dragons and Summer Dragons during a storm." She took a great, shuddering breath and broke down crying. Breezius the Air Phoenix went over to her and began to sing Phoenix Song, manipulating it so it only affected Icicle who stopped and recovered, standing up stronger.

Now that Icicle was feeling better, Solarfira continued. "Aniu, Breezius and I are your Soul-Phoenixes. You are of the two Elements of Fire and Air and I am a Fire Phoenix and he is an Air Phoenix. The reason I did not reveal this to you earlier was because I needed to teach and guide and focus my attention on all of you until Treewing found her way here. If I was already Bonded to you, there would only be three teachers for all of you. Do you understand and forgive me?" She asked. "Of course I do, Solarfira. I understand why you did what you did and I forgive you for not telling me or anyone. Are we to Bond now?" Aniu replied. "Thank you, young one. Now we may Bond then you will Bond with Breezius." Solarfira said and as Aniu reached her hand out, Solarfira leaned down to meet her. When Aniu's hand and Solarfira's beak touched, they Bonded and Aniu felt her Fire Powers grow stronger and more powerful.

Aniu and Solarfira parted and Breezius took Solarfira's place. "Hello, Aniu. It is wonderful to finally my Soul-Child-of-Sunheela." He said. "Hello, Breezius. It is wonderful to meet my Soul-Air-Phoenix as well." Aniu replied and doing the same thing she had done with Solarfira, they Bonded. However, it appeared Soul-Bonding was not over for that day. Drawn to each other, Ashara and Skywalker the Stormcutter Bonded as well and then she and Laylahlu Bonded with Rexter and Plasma the Terrible Terrors respectively. When the Bondings were over, everyone stood there staring at each other and catching their breaths. "What happens now?" Was the question on everyone's minds.

Whoo! Boy! This chapter has been full of lots and lots of surprises, was it not? So much has happened that will change the future forever. It is my niece Ashton's seventh birthday on Monday the 15th and she is growing up to a big girl, a little rascal with a mischievous grin plastered firmly on her beautiful, little face. She is a handful, I must admit but I love her nonetheless. Her four year old brother Chase is worse than her. (Laughs).
