Hello my lovely readers! Wow, it's been sooooo long since I've posted anything. Real life gets in the way of all the fun stuff. Since the last time I posted I have: graduated nursing school, moved twice, changed jobs three times, and filed for divorce. So now that you know my life story and all my lame excuses, enjoy some Teddy/Victoire stuff. I've changed the rating of this fic to M for this particular chapter and the potential for other chapters to contain some M rated stuff. This chapter does not include actual sex but the whole chapter revolves around sex related talks. If that makes you uncomfortable just skip it. Anyway, I missed you guys so much! Hopefully with some of the changes I have made in my life recently I can get back to writing more. My brain is full of ideas but time is ever the issue.

Little Talks (August 2016)

"Uncle Charlie?" Victoire twisted a stray piece of hair around her finger.

He didn't look up from The Daily Prophet. "Yeah, Fae?"

"Can I ask you a question, or questions, er, about," she trailed off.

This time he lowered the paper. "About what, Vic?"

Victoire felt the heat rushing up her neck and to her cheeks. "Well, about sex." She averted her eyes quickly, not wishing to see her uncle's reaction.

The elder Weasley let out a sort of choked chuckle. He took a long drink of his coffee before replying, "Why me?"

"Well, I certainly can't go to Papa or Maman. Uncle George would take the mickey and Uncle Ron is not the most romantic type."

"What about Angelina or Audrey, or even Ginny."

Any of her aunts would have been good to go to for guidance, but, "I need a man's thoughts and advice."

Charlie stood from the table and set another carafe of coffee on the burner to perk. Victoire waited, heart in her throat and willing herself to keep her nerve, while her uncle poured a cup of for her and refilled his own. He returned to the table and gestured for her to do the same. He took another sip of his coffee then said, "What do you want to know?"

Victoire stared at her own cup of very light-colored coffee. "How will I know, you know, when I'm ready?"

"First question of the gate and you go for the most difficult one." He sighed. "That's something I can't tell you, Vic. You just have to know, deep in your heart know, that it's what you want to do. I'm assuming we're talking about with Teddy?" She nodded, meeting his eyes for a split second. "So tell me what makes you think you might be ready."

It was her turn to delay, taking longer than necessary to stir in another spoonful of sugar. "I've been in love with him since I can remember."

"But that's nothing new. What makes it different now?"

"I'm going to Hogwarts soon, and he'll be in London in Auror training. It's the first time in five years that we've been apart for more than a month." Already there was an ache in her chest in anticipation of missing Teddy come September.

"And does that seem like a good enough reason to you?"

"Not really, no. But I want him to know that I love him, to show him that I do."

Charlie set his coffee cup down. "Vic, sex isn't about proving your love. It's not a hook to make sure he doesn't forget about you."

"Then what is it?"

"It's the expression of your love for each other. It's telling the other person that you trust them with the deepest, most secret part of you. By the time a relationship reaches the point of sex, love has been proved time and again. Can you say that for you and Teddy?"

Victoire thought for a moment. What was the proof of their love? It has to be more than just the fact that they have been together for three years, more than him being a part of the family already. "He's my best friend. He's never pushed me aside even when he was with his older friends and I was just a first year. He knows when I'm sad and just what to do to cheer me up. He helps me not be so serious all the time. And that time Trenton Bevins called me a slut he got detention for a whole week for vanishing his clothes in the middle of the Great Hall."

"And what about you for him?"

Victoire shrugged. "You'd have to ask him."

"But what do you think he would say?"

Again, she took a moment to think about how to reply. "That I've always supported him. That I hold him at night when he dreams about his parents. That I've never for a moment doubted that we were meant to be together, even when he was a complete arse but I still forgave him. That he doesn't have to be anything around me, not Head Boy, or Remus and Tonks's son, or an aspiring Auror. He can be just plain, silly Teddy."

"I don't know about you, but I'd say that sounds pretty ready to me. But I doubt you needed me to tell you that, did you?" Charlie searched the eyes of his eldest niece. "What do you really want to ask?"

She could feel the blush returning to the back of her neck. "How will I know what to do?"

He blew out a breath. "It's not really about knowing what to do, that part just comes naturally. You just do what feels right, what feels good."

"But how will I know if it feels good for him?"

He let out a short laugh. "Trust me, Victoire, it will be good for him."

She twirled her spoon around in her mug. "But I've never done it before. What if it's not?"

"Can I be crass a moment?" She nodded. "All a bloke needs is somewhere warm and wet and he's going to enjoy himself."

At that, the redness came back to her face. She avoided his eyes and instead looked out the window behind him. "What does, er, what will it feel like?"

"As a man, I can't tell you that part from experience. Most girls say it hurts a little the first time, nothing terribly unbearable, but certainly uncomfortable. The first time will be short, embarrassingly so, but if you don't put too much pressure on yourselves and just enjoy it, it can be fun."

"What do you mean?"

"I mean, it will probably be clumsy and awkward. And that's okay. Laugh at yourselves a little. Sex is supposed to be fun. When you have too high of expectations, that's when you have bad sex."

Victoire thought on that for a while. She was the queen of high expectations and the resulting disappointment that often came along with those. "So I should just let it happen, however it goes."

"The best sex happens when you don't really think too hard about it. Don't make it happen, just let your bodies take you where they want to go."

"Not thinking doesn't come particularly easily."

He chuckled, "It's a shared trait among all women, unfortunately."

She stared once more out the window, her coffee cold and forgotten. "How old were you?"

"Too young," he scoffed. Victoire sat silently, waiting for the memories to flood her uncle. He poured himself a third cup of coffee and warmed Victoire's before returning to his chair. "I was fifteen, a few months into fifth year."

"Was it Tonks?"

He sipped his coffee. "As a matter of fact, yes." Victoire giggled. "It wasn't romantic or anything. She was my best friend, you know." His voice had trailed off to almost a whisper. He cleared his throat. "She just wanted to know what it was like. Said she wanted her first time to be with someone she trusted. I could see the logic in that. Plus, what fifteen year old is going to turn down an offer of sex?"

They both laughed this time. "Thanks, Uncle Charlie. I feel much better." She drained the last of her coffee and rinsed the mug and set it on the sideboard.
"I'm glad I could help, Fae." She was almost out of the kitchen when he added, "Please don't tell your dad we had this conversation. We may be old and a little grey but I'm sure he'd have no issue with taking me down like we were kids."

"Trust me, Uncle Charlie, the last thing I want to do is talk to my dad about sex."

He smiled and lifted his mug to her. "Cheers. Oh, and Vic." She turned in the doorway. "Do the charm before you get too carried away. It's easy to forget once things get started."

Late November 2016

Teddy knocked tentatively on Harry's office door, regretting it almost immediately. He was just about to turn and head back to his cubicle that he shared with two other trainees when the door opened.

"Teddy," Harry beamed at him. "Did you need something?"

"I, well, er." Teddy glanced around at the desks that sat nearby. Two were occupied, one by a secretary and the other by another Auror. The other two belonged to Aurors currently out on mission. "Actually, sir, it's kind of a private matter."

Harry stepped back still holding the door and gesturing Teddy in. "Have a seat."

Teddy remained standing behind one of the chairs in front of the department head's desk. He wasn't here on department business though. "Actually, Harry, maybe this ought to wait. Nothing that particularly needs to be discussed at work."

Harry frowned quizzically. "You're sure, Ted? You know you don't have to worry about coming to me with problems."

"Really, sir. I shouldn't have knocked in the first place." He turned and made for the door.

"Meet me at the Leaky after quitting time," Harry called as Teddy reached for the knob. "We'll have a pint and some chips."

Teddy nodded and left the office.

Harry was already waiting for him Harry's favorite booth, the corner farthest from the fire. It was dark and out of the way, most patrons preferring to be nearer the warmth from the hearth and the attention from the bar positioned directly in front of it. Teddy slid in across from his godfather. Hannah appeared moments later with a Knottgrass ale for each of them.

"Thanks, Hannah." Harry lifted his mug and Teddy did the same. "To surviving your first months of training." Teddy touched his glass to Harry's and took a long drink. A different waitress returned with their chips and each man took one. "So," Harry began after a few moments of silence, "what did you want to talk about earlier?"

"No preamble tonight, huh?" Teddy took another drink, readying himself for the conversation to come. Victoire was Harry's niece after all, but Harry was his godfather first. And who else did Teddy have to talk to? All the adult men in his life were Weasleys, each more protective than the next, except maybe Charlie.

"The best I can do for small talk is to ask how training is going, but considering your instructors report to me, there's not much else to talk about." He studied the younger man over his drink. "I've never been much for beating around the bush, anyway."

Harry searched him in a way that made Teddy feel much younger than his eighteen years. "Can I trust in your complete confidence?"

Harry hesitated a moment before nodding his agreement. "You're an adult now, Ted. Anything you say is your business only."

"Well." He felt heat rush to his cheeks and he concentrated on keeping his hair its usual color. "It involves Victoire, too."

"I see." Harry set his glass down. "Am I going to need something stronger before the line of questioning begins?"

"Probably."

Harry waved Hannah back to the table. "Two Firewhiskeys please. Better make them a double." Hannah nodded and returned soon after with two tall shot glasses. Harry tossed his back quickly, but Teddy took his in two gulps, letting out a small cough at the end. Harry grinned. "Don't worry, Ted, you'll get used to the burn."

"Right." If he hadn't felt childish before, he certainly did now. He pushed down that feeling, the questions begging in his brain surely proved he was no child, and gathered all the courage he had. "I wanted to ask you about, er, about sex."

The stall while waiting for the Firewhiskey seemed to have given Harry time to gather his composure. He folded his hands on the table in front of him. "What do you want to know?"

"This summer, a few weeks before she returned to Hogwarts, Victoire said she was ready, that she wanted to… You know," he trailed off anxiously.

"So what do you need me for, if that was three months ago?"

Teddy twisted his hands under the table, a definite flush rising. "I told her not yet."

Harry raised an eyebrow. "Not yet?"

The young man sighed. "I didn't want it to be rushed. I wanted it to be right, not just because she was leaving soon."

"Sounds like solid reasoning to me."

"I mean, we've known each other our whole lives. I've known I love her since I knew what that meant. There's never been another girl for me and I know that's a rare thing." He brushed his hair from his forehead. "I almost screwed all that up last summer and I can't risk that again. She deserves her first time to be special, something she thinks back on with fond memories." Teddy stared at the table, shuffling his feet restlessly. "So, I guess what I want to know is, where do I even start?"

"The best place to begin is to find somewhere private. You care enough to want to wait until the time is right, don't ruin it with the possibility of someone interrupting, or worse, hurried in a broom cupboard." Teddy snickered. "Not from personal experience mind you, but I've heard plenty of mortifying stories from others."

"But with her staying with her parents when she's not at school and me in the barracks, how do I find somewhere private?"

"I had to get a hotel for me and Ginny. It was the summer after The War and Percy and Charlie were both staying at the Burrow. Molly hardly left the house for months after The Battle. I was staying at the Burrow, too, until I began training myself."

"How did you manage that? Keeping it a secret from all the Weasleys your plan to take her away for the night."

"Hermione covered for Ginny making up some excuse about her staying at Hermione's house for the night. And George did the same for me."

"George? Not Ron?"

Harry scoffed. "Can you imagine how that conversation would have gone down? 'Hey, Ron, lie to your parents for me so I can shag your baby sister.' I think not." Teddy laughed. "As far as you're concerned, just make sure you request an overnight pass at least two weeks in advance. Victoire's cover story is another issue."

"I'm sure I can enlist Calum Wood's help on that one." Teddy ran his index finger along the edge of his glass. "So, find some place private. But once we're there, then what?"

Harry delayed a moment by taking a few more chips. "Take things slow, enjoy it. It's not all about the actual sex. Take care of her first."

Teddy's brow furrowed. "Take care of her?"

Harry sighed and took another long drink. "The sex will be quick, really quick so don't let that shame you. But, women rarely, er… well, you know." Teddy stared at him. Another sip. "Women rarely orgasm from internal stimulation alone even in the best circumstances."

Teddy knew his hair had changed from turquoise to brilliant red, but didn't have the wherewithal to change it back. "So, er, make sure she's…"

"Taken care of." Both men took another long pull from their glasses. "But start with what you're used to, you know, what comes natural and just ease into the heavier stuff."

Teddy focused on his glass while asking, "What is it like, that first time?"

"Terrifying," Harry snorted. Teddy laughed. "But wonderful, to be that open with someone, especially someone you care about so deeply, there's nothing else like it. Take the first time you rode a broom, the rush of wind in your hair, the jump in your stomach, the weightlessness, the only thought in your head is pure bliss; that's what it's like, only about a thousand times better."

Teddy nodded, taking a chip. His brain swirled with all the information he had been given. He attempted to catalog it away as best he could and tried to remember every question he wanted to ask. Victoire would be home in less than a month and he wanted to be ready for her. He remembered the look of disappointment and hurt when he asked her to wait. But now, with Harry's advice and his own preparations, maybe he would be prepared for her, to meet her needs, to show her just how much he loved her.

"Will it hurt her?"

Harry smiled. "A bit. Be gentle at first, go slow. There will be blood so don't freak out." He laughed. "Godric, there was so much I wasn't ready for when Ginny and I did the first time!"

"Yeah?" Teddy leaned closer, ready for whatever Harry had to impart.

"Well, not having older brothers, or parents to give me the 'sex talk', and obviously not being able to ask Ron or any of his brothers since they would have known exactly why I wanted to know such things. I thought I had done something wrong, that I had really hurt her. I was absolutely terrified and all she could do was laugh." It was Harry's turn to go a little pink. "It was only later that I learned about a soothing charm to help with the sting afterward. A traditional healing spell won't work because you can't see the part your trying to mend. Don't forget that part, she'll thank you for it."

Teddy nodded. He drained the last of his ale. "Thanks, Harry, for being impartial and not hexing me."

Harry laughed again and finished his drink as well. "Hey, anything to help my godson be better prepared than I was."

Both men stood and embraced briefly. Harry left payment for their drinks and chips on the table. Teddy was at the hearth about to Floo to the trainees' barracks but a hand on his shoulder stopped him. Harry held out his hand and Teddy accepted several Galleons from his godfather. "Make you take her somewhere that has room service. You'll need it afterwards." Harry winked at him then turned for the exit.
