I know, it's been a while, but I had major writer's block. Started a new story to help break it and it worked.

I do not own Yu-Gi-Oh! GX.

Jaya was resting in the infirmary. The bullet exited without causing much damage and the bleeding had slowed as she was brought in. Jaden never left her side, even after 3 days. He just watched as his sister lay like she was dead.

"Jaden," Yubel said, placing a hand on his shoulder. "you need rest. Her students can watch her while you get some sleep."

"They won't come anywhere near her. They said, in losing to me, she's lost any right to their protection, even after she saved their lives. Their loyalty now is to me and my so-called 'bride'."

"Ironic, isn't it?" Jaya said waking up.

"Are you okay?" Jaden, desperately asked.

"I'll live, though not much longer. This is a similar tactic our parents tried, only they were aiming for you, as well. Ironic how many times this has occurred." Jaya looked to the ceiling with tears forming in her eyes.

"What do you mean?"

"This has happened in everyone of your past lives and mine. In each life, we were born with the powers of the Gentle Darkness. Yours as the Supreme King and I as the Legendary Princess. We each came from different noble families and became engaged to marry in each life."

Jaden cringed a bit. "Marry?"

"In each life, we would die just before our marriage trying to protect the other. I suppose to punish us for being so reckless, the fates made us siblings in this life. Though mine won't last much longer."

"No, it will. Now that I know you're alive, I won't let anyone hurt, not even mom and dad."

Jaya sighed softly. "No, not just that. I've kept this secret from everyone, even Sheppard. When I went to the boarding school, they did complete physicals. It turned out that..." Tears began to stream down her face. "..that, I an incureable and untreatable disease. From of which I will die from soon."

Jaden fell silent and sat in shock so deep he didn't even hear someone walk in. It was Mallory, who over heard the last part of Jaya's sentence. She held her breath and left quietly to tell the others.

"It's been spreading since birth. Doctors said it was a miracle I was still alive without medication. The only thing that kept me going was to ensure you would have everything you need to seal away the Light of Destruction."

"Wait, if you've been sick this whole time, why didn't you try to get help?"

"If I did, I would have to say who I was and that would let mom and dad know I was alive and they would try again. It wouldn't be just a school, they may have tried to kill all in the hospital as well. The Light warps their minds more with each passing day."

"Still, you could have used a different name." Jaden was clearly getting upset.

"An alias? No, that would have only worked for so long. Using our grandmother's maiden name was barely able to keep me hidden. But we don't need to talk about this." Jaya turned her head to the door and shouted, "I know you're there. Please come in."

The door opened to reveal Jaden's friends and Sheppard. They over heard from Mallory outside. Sheppard looked down at his adopted daughter with sadness.

"Please, all of you must evacuate. Mom and dad might come to see to my death personally this time. There is a small ship large enough to carry everyone to safety. If it's just me here, no one else would get hurt."

Jean walked in with hurt in his eyes. "We're sorry for how we acted. We finally understand why you ordered us to switch loyalty. We are still on your last order to protect Jaden and we will do so." He them bowed and with help from John, had to drag Jaden away.

They were all leaving when Jaya asked Alexis to stay a moment. She sat down and listened to what Jaya had to say.

"I know of your engagement to Jaden through that duel your first year. I know he didn't know what he was really dueling for, but I still consider you his bride to be, even if you're not. I must ask you." Jaya reached for Alexis' hand and continued, "Please watch over my brother. I love him very much and wish him happiness. If you and your friends can bring that to him, please do so."

Alexis was in shock, but said she would. Jaya hugged her and told her to leave. Alexis ran as fast as she could to her dorm to pack what she may need.

Sheppard announced an immediate evacuation, explaining that the volcano may have been showing signs it might erupt soon and everyone was to be off with in 2 hours and they might be away for a week. Afterwards, everyone hustled to pack and get off. Jaden tried to fight to get back to Jaya and had to be knocked out. Syrus and Hassleberry packed up Jaden's bag for him and they left for the dock.

Sheppard went back to Jaya to say good bye. Jaya gave him her deck and a picture of her and Jaden as children as well as a letter she had written to him. "I have only one request. If they left me here after I died, take my body and burn it. If he wishes, give my ashes to Jaden to do with as he pleases. Scatter them, keep them. I thank you for being a great father to me and helping me see Jaden one last time. My powers will be given to Jaden the moment of my death."

As they hugged, he whispered, "And thank you for being a great daughter" and he left for the docks.

Once the ship left, a few people surfaced on the other side of the island.. Dressed in black and carrying some sort of weapons.

An hour later, Jaden woke up in a bed on the ship. He jolted up to get back to school. As he tried to open the door, he found it locked. He rammed it, but only hurt his shoulder. He looked around for a window or a vent big enough to crawl though. Nothing. Then he heard voices from the other side of the door.

"He'll stay locked in there til the school is completely out of sight." one voice said.

"But he must be hungry by now. It's almost time for supper." another voice said, clearly Syrus, due to it being high pitched compared to the other, which Jaden presumed to be Sheppard.

Before he could try to open the door again, he felt a sudden sense of dread, then his world went dark with a sharp jolt to both his head and heart and fell with a thump loud enough to be heard on the other side of the door.

Jesse flung the door open and found Jaden limp on the floor like he was dead. Then, as everyone else piled in, Jaden started to glow with a strange dark aura. Not a bad feeling, but a more powerful one. It was then, they knew.

Back at the academy, a soldier walked out with a gun in one hand and pulled out a radio with the other. "Target destroyed, but the entire campus is gone. Must have been warned ahead of time."

"Well, done. Now find the king and destroy him and all who protect him as well." a female voiced said, from the radio.

"Yes. They couldn't have gotten far. Spread out and search for clues. Have our boats search a 60 mile radius." the soldier said as he headed for the shore. 'We should have just killed them as infants when we had the chance.'

On the ship, Jaden was still unconscious. Alexis and Syrus stayed with him while the others went to dinner. They just watched him, hoping he'd wake up, but when the others came back, he was still out.

He had a heart beat, so he wasn't dead. In his head, he had visions of all the lives he lived and the deaths he faced. Brutal, cruel, and bloody. They both disgusted and frightened Jaden. He begged for it to stop, but the more he begged, the more vivid the visions got. Suddenly, he felt arms wrap around him. He looked and saw Jaya as the Legendary Princess.

"Fear not, dear brother. I will always be with you. Now we will no longer go through another life of blood and war. You have the powers to end this. To seal away the Light of Destruction, but you must remember this. The Light can never truly be destroyed." Jaya took his hands in hers and kissed Jaden cheek. "Chances are now that my role is complete, I will not be reincarnated and we will never meet again, but I will be watching over you. Live happily with your friends and save our parents from the Light."

"Jaya, please." Jaden's tear flowed as he watched his sister begin to fade.

Jaya wiped the tear away. "Your friends await you." As she faded, she took a deep breathe and with the last of her life force said, "Tell Alexis, she does wish it, tell her I approve." And with a smile, Jaya faded away into the darkness, leaving Jaden to cry and feeling alone.

Wow! That was a bit intense for me. Again, sorry if this chapter sucked. I was having writer's block and started a new story to break it. I'm looking for a beta-reader to help me. Let's hope I find one soon. I may only have another chapter or 2 for this and end it. Hope I make it good.
