A/N: Okay, so I know a few of you may (or may not) be confused about the time frame, so I'm going to clear that up right now.

Saturday: Austin and Ally run into each other at the mall, then go up to the practice room. (Ends this chapter.)

Sunday: Shall be skipped in the story because nothing important happens that day.

Monday: Will start on the next chapter, I'm not giving away the plot for that one. Make more sense? Kay.

And to the Guest who reviewed saying he/she was expecting something different, just give it time ;) I didn't want to rush the story, and I'm still trying to introduce their personalities as much as possible. But I will put an authors note at the end of the chapter before the dinner scene. It won't be this chapter, but it should be in a soon. Like, really soon. ;D

On to chapter 10! Enjoi :)

DISCLAIMER: I DO NOT OWN AUSTIN AND ALLY

Ally's POV:

Wow. Okay. I expected Austin to know how to play the piano, but I didn't think he'd actually be good at it.

Correction: amazing.

His fingers seem to glide effortlessly across the keys, producing the most beautiful melody I've ever heard. It doesn't sound familiar, and I realize with a start that it must be an original piece.

I stand back quietly and just listen. Closing my eyes, I gently sway back and forth, letting the music wash over me.

After about two minutes, the song slows down some as Austin plays the final notes, letting the last note linger in the air. Absolute perfection.

I slowly open my eyes and gaze at the blonde boy with a mixture of awe and disbelief.

"Where on earth did you learn to play like that?" I asked, still amazed. I just couldn't wrap my mind around the fact that Austin was the one playing the piano.

Slowly, as if scared of being ridiculed, he turned around and eyed me warily. "Was it good? I mean, I haven't played for a while, and-" he started before I cut him off. How could he think that it was anything less than flawless?

"Austin, it was astounding. Immaculate, even. Where did you learn to play like that?" I ask again.

"I learned how to play piano from my Grandma when I was young, probably around six or seven? After I got it down, I started taking secret lessons-my dad didn't approve of me learning how to play-then after that, I started to branch out more and experiment with other instruments as well."

"Why wasn't your dad supportive?"

"He says that he'd rather have me play sports and get a scholarship, or take over their mattress company when they retire," Austin scowled, making him look like an adorable five year old that didn't get his way.

"Well," I say, racking my brain for something to say. "you're almost eighteen, right?" He nods his head, looking at me with confusion. "So, you're technically old enough to make your own decisions. You can't let your father decide who you are in life."

He looks up at me, resting his head on his hands, effectively smashing his face together. "But I don't want to disappoint him, either," he mumbles.

I sigh, sit beside him and start rubbing his back in hopes to comfort him. It seems to be working, as his muscles relax and he sits back up.

He leans back against the piano, jumping when his back his the keys, making a very loud jumble of notes fill the air. I start to giggle, causing him to look at me.

"Whoops?" He smiles sheepishly. I just grin and shake my head.

"Come on," I say, standing up. "I need to get home, and I'm guessing you do to,"

He stands up as well, walking beside me to the door. "Yeah," he glances at his phone. "It's almost six o'clock. My mom is probably about to start dinner anyway," he says.

"Alright, I'll see you at school on Monday," I smile, waving as we both go downstairs and head our separate ways.

"Bye!" He calls. "Oh, and Ally?"

I turn around to see him facing me.

"Thanks for agreeing to help me," He smiles before turning back around and walking away.

I turn back around and head home as well, grinning like an idiot the whole way.
