The Oddest day
Chapter 10
Anna stood staring at her brother Erasmus as he readied himself for the fight that would come .
Her thoughts were on Bart , Carli and the four Assassins that had left with Aragorn that morning , sneaking away while many people slept .
She was glad they left her and Erasmus and Eduan behind , but not those damn new comers ,especially Klaus who was furious when he learned that the other Doppelganger had gone with her friends .
Anna didn't understand why he was furious until Elena had told her about Carli's little secret of letting Klaus feed from her .
Oh , this is not good ,she had thought as Elena had warned her that Carli was threading on dangerous ground , that Klaus wasn't a good man .
Now she worried about the people around camp . She worried that the vampires would feed on them and she had made it a point to warn Eowyn . While not telling her most of it ,but just enough she was sure Eowyn would tell the king that they should keep an eye out for any danger . She didn't point at the new comers though , hoping that they'd behave somehow .
Carli held tightly onto Desmond's arm as they left the cave with the ghosts following their group . She wishes with all her heart she didn't have to come too , but Desmond was adamant that he won't leave her behind .
She was worried about those who had stayed behind . She should have never suggested that the vampires should come with them . If anyone got hurt it would be all on her .
A soft sigh escapes her lips causing Desmond to look at her questioningly . She shakes her head at him while trying to smile , failing miserably because the smile seems more like a grimace .This causes him to halt and look down into her face properly .
''What's up with you ,Carli ?'', he asks .
She shrugs ''Nothing's up , Desmond , ''she says ,but he catches the lie on her voice and the way that there is a guilty light shining in her eyes .
''Don't lie , Carli , tell me now what's wrong so I can deal with it! '', he snaps loudly causing the others who had walked on without knowing that they had halted to hear and also halt .
Altair , Bart and the other two assassins motions for Aragorn , Gimli and Legolas to continue walking while they walk back to the two .
''I'm just worried ,okay , those people we brought along is vampires and one or two of them is hybrids , I'm scared that they might drink all the people's blood ''.
Her words shocks Desmond and the other three assassins ,but not Bart because somehow he had known about the new comers' secret .
''Let me get this straight , you told us to bring them along and conveniently forgot to tell us they are vampires ?,''Desmond says incredulously .
''I didn't forget ,Desmond , I just didn't want more trouble , because he wouldn't have let me go if you refused because of what he is ''.
Desmond sighs . He knew she spoke the damn truth and he couldn't blame her for not confessing .
''Fine , let's just keep moving , Aragorn won't like us being late '', he says tiredly .
''When do you think your sister will be back ?'', Elena asks Anna as they sat around the campfire waiting for word that they'll be moving out soon .
''You won't see her for a while ,maybe on the battlefield , I think ''.
Elena looked at her almost look alike with the green eyes . She hoped that Carli would return because Klaus was becoming unbearable . He even tried to compel Elena to feed him . Stefan had said that maybe Carli's blood made him addicted to Doppelganger blood and now he wanted more everyday .That wasn't a good thing . Carli had started something bad .
It worried Elena beyond measure .
''Do I have to ?'', she asks eyeing the ship that she had to board . She was no fan of ships , or airplanes or cars ,because motion sickness was her destiny if she boarded any of those .
''Yes , Carli dearest , you have to '', Desmond says motioning for her to stop stalling and get up there .
She reluctantly listens wishing she had stayed behind with Anna . Klaus' feeding times were far more bearable than motion sickness .
Klaus was beyond pissed and he was hungry . He wanted to go all vamp on everyone ,but Carli's face keeps popping up telling him not to . Or Well , the Doppelganger face keeps popping up .
He needed her NOW!.He couldn't be without her . Not now , not ever .
It wasn't just her blood he needed . No , she made him feel things that he'd never thought he'd ever feel again .
A sigh escapes his lips . He'll just have to go ask Anna if she could spare some blood . She did offer some when he asked her when her sister was coming back .
He was absolutely sure that her blood wouldn't be as tasty as his little Carli's blood .
''Oh , I hate boats '', Carli groans hanging over the side while Altair held her hair away from her face .
''I do too ,but we have no choice , Carli '', he says .
They were both feeling sick . They'd been retching ever since the ship started moving .
The others were amused at this , laughing at them occasionally , but kept their distance because with Altair you never knew if you'd end up with a throwing knife in your chest or not .
''Can't we just skip this rig and get somewhere where there's land under our feet ?'', she grumbles .
''No , we'd have to swim then , and you know how swimming goes for me '', Altair says .
''Ugh , don't remind me", she says before throwing up again though nothing comes out anymore .
Seeing this upsets Altair's stomach as well causing him to hurl also .
''Hey , I see land !'', Bart's voice suddenly calls causing the duo to forget that they were supposed to be throwing up .
''Ah , finally '', Desmond says . He was tired watching his girl and Altair act like an old married couple .
Not long after they find themselves jump to shore fighting orcs .
''Death!'', King Theoden yells and his army echoes yelling the same thing .
Anna didn't like being there ,but she couldn't say no to her brother and boyfriend .
She was going to fight and she hated it so much . Carli was better at fighting than her . Well if throwing fireballs and such was better than handling a sword . Anna sighs . Yes she could do a mean Kong Fu kick and yes she knew how to use a knife , but throwing Fireballs was way cooler .
She was startled out of her thoughts when a horn blew .
The time to charge came . She had no choice now but to fight or die trying .
She was amazed by what the vampires could do . She saw how they simply ripped hearts out and snapped necks . They were having a ball at massacring the orcs . And they ignored the disgusting blood of the monsters .
She found herself on the battlefield and fought as hard as she can with the magicka that she had left.
She was bloody , tired and she just wanted the fight to stop .
She didn't just use magic to fight . For once she had the skills to hold her own as she had swung a sword . She wasn't that good ,but her hours of training under her friends paid off now when she needed it .
Her arm hurt something fierce where an orc had cut her .She couldn't risk healing it when she needed to preserve magicka . She needed to keep using her sword even if she got cut again .
She saw many of her friends fighting just as hard as she . She watched the vampires ,amazed at how they fought so easily .
She saw Desmond fight a huge Uruk and thought that he would need her help if he was going to survive so she ran over there just to be blocked by an orc who swung his sword at her neck . She duck quickly slicing his rib open .
He screamed and fell and she thrust her sword into his chest ,finishing him off .
''So , Miss I'm Not So Good With My Weapons , what do you call that , eh ?'', Damon spoke just as she was busy pulling out her sword from the orcs torso .
She sighs at seeing him . She really didn't need his snarky remarks .
''I call it I Killed An Orc '', she sasses before running off to find her next opponent /victim ,while Damon just glared after her .
She looked around . The fighting was over . Bodies lay everywhere be it man ,beast or orc .
Blood painted the ground red and the smell of it all made her want to gag .
''Carli , are you alright ?'', Connor asks from behind her .
She nods as she looks behind her at him .
He had a sad look in his eyes and that worried her .
''Connor ?'', she enquires .
''Follow me , Carli , I'm not supposed to show you ,but you'll find out eventually ''.
She follows him to where Altair and Bart is bending over a person wearing assassin robes .
The colors of the robes tells her already who it is .
''Is he ..'',she begins and Connor shakes his head .
''I'm sorry '', Ezio whispers from beside them .
With an agonized scream she tries rushing forward to get to the person .
''Desmond !, Noooooh!, Noooo!'', she screams as tears begins to spill down her cheeks .
''Get her out of here !'', Altair growls and the next thing she knows is being lifted up and vamp sped away by none other than Niklaus Mikealson .
''Let go of me !'', she snaps when they stop near the gates to city .
''Now , now ,Love , that's no way to treat a man ,you know '', he says trying to calm her down .
''Just let me go '', she hisses ''I need to get back to ….''. She pauses as she looks at some approaching people .
Her eyes widens as she spots her brother and her friends walking towards the gate with the people and she cannot believe her eyes when she spots someone she never thought she'd see again in her life .
Desmond Miles in all his assassin glory .
Breaking free from Klaus' arms she rushes towards him , barreling into him .
When his arms wrap around her she feels like she had come home .
She is unaware of the dark look Niklaus gives them . Her focus is all on the one she loves .
