I'm back again with another chapter.

So on with the story.

Lose to Win

Last time, "Good evening class, I'm hoping that your final project is going along well."

"Till the end of the school year and before you all go to collage, this hour and the film club are going to make a documentary about you and how your four years at Station Square High has been and how your life is today..."

"What is going on betwe-"

"Who's talking?"

"What!"

"Come in."

"I'm Scrouge... Scrouge the Hedgehog."

"If Ms. Rose will kindly take her seat, you can sit behind her."

"But Mr. Fal-"

"I said no, now well the both of you please take your seats."

"Jackson."

"..."

"Can somebody wake up Jackson?"

"Hey Jackson wake up."

"Mr. Fall is calling roll."

"Oh... I here Mr. Fall. Thanks for waking me up dude ahh- dudette."

"Shadow."

"..."

"I swear if that boy keeps on skipping school he's not going to graduate."

"I knew I was going to see you again."

"Stop talking to me."

"I can't, your voice is like honey. Creamy velvet cake on a golden platter. It's just so smooth, so husky... so... so... so tantalizing. It makes me so h-"

"I don't even want to her it."

"Okay, if you give me a kiss after class. On the lips."

"Amy."

"I'm here."

"I wasn't calling roll, I was telling you to turn around and stop flirting with Mr. Hedgehog."

"Okay, as I was saying..."

"I'm going to check myself out."

"You."

"Don't be like that babe."

"Don't touch me."

"Okay. Okay... okay."

"What do you want Scrouge?"

"Well, I was waiting for my kiss."

"I said no to that!"

"No you didn't, as I remember you was about to but Mr. Fall had cut you short."

"I'm not oblige to do so."

"Ms. James can I go to Mr. Fall classroom I left my book in his class."

"Watch where your going."

"Yeah I was talking to you."

"Okay, I'm glad to here. I want you to apologize because you was the one that bumped into me."

"Whatever preppy girl."

"I have a name dread-head."

"My name is Rouge. Not batty or preppy girl, Ginger."

"Okay then, bye bye Knuckie. See you around."

"Now he will be mine."

Later that Day

With Shadow

At the Hospital

Shadow has been at the hospital for days now with out any sleep. His mother tried to tell him to go home and rest, but that ended with him yelling at her saying that he won't leave the hospital knowing that when he leave something can go wrong.

Jessica, Shadow's mother, is sitting next to Shadow rubbing on his back waiting for the doctor to come from the emergency.

Jessica stopped rubbing Shadow's back, "I'll be right back with some coffee." She stood up after Shadow gave a hoarse okay.

Shadow watched as his mother disappear into the long hallway. He let out an long hard sigh and leans his back on the chair and closes his eyes.

"Shadow!" The few people in the waiting room head popped up at the name.

Shadow was dosing off when he heard his name being called. He raised up in his seat and looked around. Out of the corner of his eye Shadow spotted a female hedgehog running towards him.

The hedgehog had long blonde hair and crystal blue eyes. She was wearing a gray man's oversized sweatshirt, red skinny jeans, and black boots. A male red hedgehog was just a few steps behind her. The both wore a worried expression.

"Shadow." She said out of breath.

Shadow stood up, he looked angry. "What are you two doing here?"

The red hedgehog stepped up, "We're here to see our daughter." He said with attitude.

Shadow had flames in his eyes, "She's not your daughter."

"Yes she is, as I recall I'm the one who helped conceive her." The unknown hedgehog said.

Shadow left his arms at his side with balled fist. "As I recall you two were the ones that left her at my door and I was the one who had to take care of her." He said in a menacing voice.

The nameless hedgehog was about to reply when, the blonde haired hedgehog stepped in between the two, both her hands on their chest.

"Will you both stop it! You to are making a seen." The blonde female looks Shadow in the eyes, "Shadow-"

Shadow roughly pushed her hand away, "..." the silence in the air between the three was tense. He looked into the blues eyes that played him for the last time.

"Leave." He glared

"Shadow, please-"

His glare hardens, "Leave. The two of you have no reason to be here."

The male hedgehog looks Shadow in the eyes, "Shadow please, she's much as our daughter as she is yours."

Shadow casted his eyes on the blonde haired girl, "Well you should've thought about that before, you left her."

The blonde girl fist balls up and her face turns red with anger. "SHADOW WHAT THE HELL!" She lowers her voice. "Why won't you let that go?"

"BECAUSE I WAS IN LOVE WITH YOU!"

The was silence in the air.

The male hedgehog walks towards the doors leaving the two in the waiting room with their audience.

"Shadow. . ." She started.

"Shadow, what am I supposed to say?" She looks him in the eyes.

". . ." They're stare was intense, so intense If you were to come between the stare you be blown to bits.

Shadow looks away. "Nothing, there is nothing to be said. You already choose who you wanted to be with."

She tried to touch his shoulder but he took a step back. The girl was hurt by that little action. "You're still mad about that? After all these years?"

He didn't say anything.

"Shadow I told not to take that personally."

". . ."

"Shadow, if you wanted a apology-"

"That's not want I want." He said darkly.

"Then what do you want Shadow?" She said in anger.

"What I want. . . What I want, is my life back."

Flashback

Normal POV

6 Years Ago

At the Park

The same blonde haired girl had tears running down her face, "Shadow..."

The 15 year old Shadow looked at the girl standing before him. He hurried toward the crying female and wrapped his arms around her, "Maria, what's wrong?"

She didn't answer.

He pulled back away from her his hands still on her shoulders, "Maria-"

She cut him off, "I'm pregnant."

Shadow dropped his arms from her shoulders, "What?"

"I'm pregnant. I'm having your baby." She wrapped her arms around herself and hung her head, a few tears dropped from off her face.

Shadow hasn't said or did anything, all he did was stared out into space.

"I don't know what to do." She hiccups, "I'm only 14 years old. And-"

Shadow zones her out. He didn't believe her for a second. Shadow mentally shakes his head, snapping himself out of it, "I used a condom."

Maria didn't look up at him, "There is only a 98% chance that the condom won't break."

'She isn't lying.' He thought.

The girl looks at him with her watery eyes, "Shadow what are we going to do? We're only kids. We don't know how to raise a baby. We just barely know how to raise ourselves."

Shadow looks down at her stomach. You couldn't tell that something was in there, it only looked as if she had just ate a big lunch. But, just the thought of her having his baby didn't make any sense. She wasn't a virgin when they had sex. Maybe it could be someone else's baby. Shadow shook his head, a typical male thought. A girl's wasn't a virgin when they did it so that mean the baby could be any bodies.

He felt a shame of himself, even if she wasn't a virgin there is still a chase that the kid could be his. And looking at the girl there was nothing to be done, someone had to be the bigger person, and he was going to be there for her no matter what.

Shadow wraps his arms around the girl and let her cry on to his shoulder.

"I'll be there for you, I'll get a job and everything. So don't worry your pretty little head about nothing." Shadow kiss the side of her head.

Maria wraps her arms around him, "Shadow I don't deserve some one like you."

"Of course you don't." He jokes, trying to shine light on a poor situation.

Maria push his slightly with a little laugh, "Shut up, Shadow."

He give her a bear hug and looks her in the eyes, "I love you."

She smile at him, "You're just saying that."

He shakes his head, "I really love you."

She rest her head on his chest, "I'm hungry, let's get something to eat."

They took off down the sidewalk, "Like what?"

"I don't know, how about frozen yogurt."

"That sounds nice."

"Yeah it does."

End of Flashback

"I had dreams. I wanted to become famous. I wanted to grow old with you, have kids even we were read-"

Maria huffed, "Will you grow up! Nobody cares that you loved me. Nobody cares that I lied to you about Avory's father. I had a reason for what I did, Jay wasn't ready to be a parent and neither was I. I needed someone who would take responsibility and forget all knowledge and common sense, to take care of me, my bab-"

By this time the whole waiting room and staff had their attention on the pair.

"Don't you dare say baby. You don't have that right."

Some of the people in the lobby nodded in agreement. Other didn't see it his way.

Her eyes a held a internal fame that hasn't had time ignite, until then, "How can you tell me what my right is. Avory isn't even your child. You didn't have to go through pushing her out. Or watching the person who said that he will always take care of me leave the room when he saw what she looked like. You didn't have to raise her for 3 weeks with her dead beat dad. So, don't tell me my rights to call her my baby."

Shadow raised his hands up to his eyes and leaned his head back, "There is a difference between giving birth to a child and raising a child. If gave that child away after you gave birth to the child because you couldn't handle it you aren't the parent. If you raised that child and treated the child as it was your own you are considered the parent."

"He is right." Somebody tried to whispers.

"Yeah." Said another person.

Shadow continues on, "And you're right about me not taking care of her for 3 weeks with Jay. I raised her since the day you left her a my door, by myself. One no helped me, I had to raise her and try to help her get better because the two of you bastards made a irresponsible decision to smoke around Avory. So the doctors diagnosed her with pneumonia."

"What?" Maria and everybody else was shocked.

"Me and Jay never smoked around Avory." She said slowly.

Shadow cross his arms, "Then how else did she get pneumonia Maria."

"I don't know."

There was silence, nobody in the waiting room said nothing not even the staff. It was like a T.V drama. Nothing but drama bombs repeatedly.

"Shadow I came back with the coffee, you won't belie- Maria?" Jessica looks at the blonde girl in shock.

Jessica walks up to Maria, "What are you doing here? I thought you moved away, at least that's what Shadow told me."

The teenaged girl give a smile timid smile, "Yeah, but I just came back into town a couple of weeks ago."

Shadow's mom smiles, "That's good. You should come over for dinner sometime."

"Mom I don't think that's necessary." Shadow gives a small unnoticeable glare at Maria.

"Shadow that's non-sense. I'm su-"

Maria cuts her off, "Um. . . Shadow is right, I still have things to unpack." She looks at Shadow shortly. "It was nice seeing you again Ms. Hedgehog."

"It was nice seeing you too."

Maria slowly walks away, "She always was a nice girls."

Shadow took a seat, "Whatever you say."

Jessica took a seat next to him.

"Hey mom, what if I was to tell you Avroy isn't my daughter?"

Jessica chuckles, "Your funny Shadow, just like your dad was." She hands his is coffee.

Shadow give and awkward laugh and takes a small sip, "Yeah, just like my dad. . . So was was it you was doing to tell me?"

Jessica shines, "Oh yeah, I meant this guy while I was in line getting coffee, and we sat down a had a chat and her asked me if I wanted to go out on a date and I said yes."

Shadow didn't say anything. It didn't feel right that is mother was going out on a date after 6 months after his father died, but who was he to stop is mother happiness.

Jessica waited for Shadow to say something. . . anything. "You don't like it huh."

Shadow takes a much-needed sip of coffee, "Is not that I don't like it It's just," Shadow gives a sigh, "that dad just died 6 months ago and its weird."

"Yeah I know but I think that he can make happy just like your dad did." She said sadly.

He gave is mother a smile, "Ma, if you think that, then just go on the date. Me and Avory are going to be fine."

Jessica gives him a hug, "Your a good boy."

A nurse walks from out of the doors, "The Hedgehog family." She calls out.

Jessica and Shadow stood up at the same time and hurried over to the nurse.

"Is she okay? Did something go wrong." Shadow asked.

The nurse let out a small laugh.

Jessica looks up at her son, "She laugh, something good must have happened if she's laughing."

Shadow looks at the nurse with hope filled eyes and the nurse blush at his face. "Really what happened."

The nurse cleared her voice, "Your daughter, Avory, is cured of pneumonia, but just in case something happens the doctor wants you to bring her back once every week until the end of the month so we can check up on how she is progressing."

"So other than that my baby is cured."

The nurse nodded.

Shadow wraps his arms around the nurse and gives her a kiss on the cheek. He lets go of the red nurse and puts his arms around his mother. "Did you hear the ma my little girl is all better."

Shadow had tears running down his face from who happy he was.

"Yeah I heard." She whispers. She haven't seen her son this happen is such a long time.
