Chapter Ten Almost Exposed
Mira woke up in a dark empty room, she saw she was in her mermaid form, she realised she was in a tank, and beside her was anther tank, But who she saw in there, was someone she was not expecting.
"Charlotte?" Mira said suprised.
"Mira." Charlotte turned around, suprised herself.
"Where are we?" Mira asked.
"Have you heard of Dr. Denman?" She asked Mira.
"That's the woman who Rikki and Cleo told me about." She said.
"I'm guessing they told you about me?" Charlotte questioned her fellow kidnapped mermaid. Mira just nodded.
"Hello girls." Dr. Denman came out with another doctor.
"Hello i'm Dr. Holt." The other doctor said. Them Mira saw someone else coming into the light, someone familiar.
"Nick?" She says.
"Hey Mira." He said sounding upset. Mira saw it and he sent back an apologetic look.
"What do you want with us?" Charlotte asked.
"Oh to expose you and become rich." Dr. Denman said.
"You starting to regret getting your tail back yet?" Mira asks Charlotte.
"Yeah. More than ever." Charlotte replied.
The girls didn't know what to do, but once Mira remembered, the girls telling her that Dr. Denman knew they had powers. So Mira used hers. She froze the tank and trued to break it, and it actually worked. She then froze Charlotte's tank.
"Charlotte. Break it." She told her. Charlotte succeeded, she then dried the two of them. Nick had hit the two doctors on their head pretty hard.
"Oh right Nick, this is Charlotte. Charlotte this is Nick." Mira introduced them.
They had no idea where they were heading.
"Go.Swim away." Nick suggested.
"No we're not leaving you." Mira said.
"Will we ever meet again?" Charlotte asked. To her reply Nick kissed her, but then one of Denman's men came out with a gun.
"Mira, you know what to do." Nick said remembering the promise they had made.
Mira's face went pale, knowing the promise.
"No i can't. I can't do it." Mira said. Charlotte had no idea what they were talking about, but knew it was bad.
"Mira. Do it. Do it now." Nick said. Mira didn't want to but she had made a promise she had to keep. Mira made a sharp ice stick and threw it straight at Nick.
Charlotte screamed, running up to his body.
"No, no, no." She said sobbing.
"I can finally be with my family. Thank you Mira." Then Nick died in Charlotte's arms. Mira was crying her eyes out. But Charlotte was furious, she wanted to rip Mira apart, but knew they had to get out of there.
"Wait. The dna.' Mira remembered.
"No Mira. No!" But Mira didn't listen to Charlotte. She ran back in to destroy the evidence.
Charlotte wanted to swim away and leave Mira to die, but she still had the urge of hearing her out.
Mira found the girls dna and she took it with her, thank god the doctors were still knocked out. She then jumped into the ocean, where Charlotte was about to come out and go in after her.
The girls swam for a while until Charlotte stopped wanting an explanation.
"His family died in a fire. A fire created by Denman's men. She thought they were a mer family, but they weren't. He said if it ever came to one of her men killing him, that i should do it instead." Mira told Charlotte. She finally understood why she did what she did. But still wanted her revenge on her.
"We're back." Charlotte told Mira.
"Oh god mako i missed you." Mira said. Charlotte just rolled her eyes, then two figures came swimming in.
"MIRA!" Both Bella and Cleo shouylted hugging the now found girl.
Mira had told them what had happened and the girls felt sorry for Charlotte, but she was having none of it.
"I will get you back Mirabelle Fletcher." With that said Charlotte swam away. The girls saw the worry on Mira's face.
The guys then came in through the land entrance seeing Mira and relaxed. Nate however jumped straight into the pool and swam towards her, but she backed away, looking at the exit, about to swim out.
"Wait. I'm sorry about what you saw, but what i wanted to tell you was that i want to marry you and that your the only person i want to be with. I love you, and i can't wait for you to become a Cunningham." Nate said. Mira just giggled at the last thing he said.
"What?" Nate said confused.
"Your adorable when your confused." She said still laughing. Nate just scrunched up his face and pulled Mira into a kiss.
"What about hyphenating our surnnames." Mira suggested.
"Mr. and Mrs. Cunningham-Fletcher." Nate said in thought.
"Or Mr. and Mrs. Fletcher-Cunningham." Mira spoke.
The others said they prefered the second one. Nate agreed. Then the others thought of hyphenating.
"Mr. and Mrs. Chadwick Bennett." Zane said.
"Mr. and Mrs Bennett Chadwick." Rikki suggested. Everyone including Rikki agreed Zane's one was better.
"Mr. and Mrs. Hartley Benjamin." Bella spoke.
"Mr and Mrs. Benjamin Hartley." Will said. Everyone agreed Will had got this one.
"Mr and Mrs. McCartney Sertori." Lewis said.
"Mr. and Mrs. Sertori McCartney." Cleo said. Here everyone prefered Cleo's one.
"Looks like we're all hyphenating." Mira pointed out.
"So um are we getting married or not?" Nate said sounding happy. Mira just nodded.
