The moment I stepped into the harem I was bombarded with a rain of questions by my protective sister.

"Fi are you alright? What did that man do to you? Did he do anything to you? Because if he did I'll- well I really can't do anything but you know if I could I would slap the pink right out of his-"

"Cake," I placed my hands on her shoulders in an attempt to calm her "Cake I'm fine. Gumball didn't do a thing to me."

She furrowed her brow. "Then why in the world did the man call you to his chambers?"

Though I desperately wanted to share with Cake the task I had been given by the king, I just couldn't bring myself to admit what I had agreed to. The look of disappointment my sister would give would be beyond heartbreaking. I took a sharp intake of breath before forcing out a lie. "He just wanted to introduce himself, I guess."

It was obvious Cake was having a hard time buying my weak story. However she gave a faint nod of her head before changing the subject. "Mistress Abadeer came in while you were gone and told us that we won't be getting anything to eat until we finish mending the clothes she had sent in." My gaze moved to the ridiculously large amount of clothing held in multiple baskets around the table the girls were sitting at.

"That's ridiculous!" I angrily threw some clothes to the ground.

"You got that right. What I'm wondering is how all these garments get ripped."

"Knowing that evil witch she probably ruined them herself just to make us miserable," LSP whined.

Bonnibel surveyed the baskets. "With our lack of sewing skills and this amount of clothing, I calculate that it will take us approximately sixteen hours to complete this task."

"But I'm feeling hungry now," whimpered BMO. "Fionna, what are we going to do?"

I felt a jolt of panic when all eyes turned to me. Those girls were looking towards me for guidance once again. I guess I truly had become their leader as well as their hero. It was actually a little scary, having so many people seeming to rely on me. One wrong say by me and our actions could cost us. Cake always said I was a rash thinker. That's exactly how I found myself working for the enemy. I'd really have to start slowing down and planning things out if I wanted us all to stay safe.

"There's nothing else we can do besides get these clothes fixed. We just have to try and do it efficiently. BMO you're the youngest so you have the smallest fingers and the best eyes. You can thread all of the needles. LSP you find where all the clothing is ripped and hand the garments out. Cake can you teach everyone else basic sewing techniques? They don't seem to be that skilled at it."

My sister gave a firm nod. "Sure thing Fi!"

"Mathmatical! Alright ladies, let's get some domestic chores done!"

Though things were shaky in the beginning, slowly but surely my system began to work. Soon we were churning out mended clothes like fiends. Turtle Princess stood at the end of our little assembly line and folded the garments neatly, placing them back in the baskets. This was terrific! I couldn't help a wide smile on my face. For the moment I felt a burst of happiness. And when I'm happy, I sing.

"Come listen each lady and lass

For I can tell you a tale

Of a hag of a woman, a shriveled old bag

And her face is quite oddly pale."

The girls giggled, knowing exactly who I was talking about.

"Though her family name might be noble

Her words and actions are crude

She's lacking in mirth and cold as the earth

This woman is terribly rude."

Everyone was laughing so hard they could hardly focus on their work. I was beaming to see them having fun. I quickly thought up another verse.

"She forces young women to labor

To work 'til their fingers are sore

Though we're trapped in this place at least we have grace

It's that Abadeer broad who's the whore!"

They stopped laughing. Their faces went slack. Cake gave a cough.

"…Mistress Abadeer is behind me, isn't she?"

They all nodded. I slowly turned around.

"Hello mistress-" Her hand slapping across my face cut me off.

"You won't be getting anything to eat today. The rest of you finish your work." She slithered away as quietly as she had come in.

I grinned regardless of my punishment.

It's been two years since I've updated but I refuse to abandon this story. Thanks for all your support even in my hiatus.
