Music blasted from every inch in the room. Rose swayed to the rhythm of the music, and didn't mind when a random guy started to grind against her. She closed her eyes, loving the way all her worries seemed to evaporate into thin air. The guy that had gone up to her wrapped his arms around her waist, obviously liking the fact that he hadn't been pushed away. Rose only found it annoying as yet another guy had gone up to her, sandwiching her between two guys.

"Hey, Rose!" Rose smiled at the happy jade green eyes of her friend. She waved at the guys that had been dancing with her, though, they seemed disappointed at first, once they caught the hips of another girl, they moved on.

"Hey, Jill!" Rose yelled over the booming music. "Having fun yet?" Jill wasn't exactly known for being a party animal, but once she loosened up, she was good at dancing and even joked around a bit.

"I would if you didn't stop abandoning me." Rose just laughed and signaled the bartender, who was actually a guy from their school, to fill of her glass again.

"How about we make tonight a night to remember?" Rose raised her glass and clicked it with Jill's, before downing it's contents, feeling the liquid burn down her throat. Unlike Rose, Jill sipped her drink and once she was done, let Rose guide her to the dance floor.

Rose threw her arms around Jill's slim frame and guided her moves at first then let her do it on her own when she started getting the hang of it. They were both moving to the beat of the music when Rose felt someone come up behind her.

"Good form, Rose!" Mason grinned at her, eyes bouncing with excitement.

"Mase! You came!" Rose giggled, "That rhymed!" The drink was finally having its effect on her.

"How many drinks has she had?" Eddie asked Jill, who seemed flustered by his presence.

"I think it's her fourth one, but I lost count." Jill and Eddie were already moving in sync, leaving Mason and Rose to pair up.

They danced for a good half hour when Rose caught someone's eye. Her body suddenly stiffened as she saw Mia and Jesse dancing close together just a few people away from where she was. Mason, obviously confused by her reaction, followed her gaze and cursed under his breath.

"Come on, Rose, you don't need this bullshit." He was right, but Rose wouldn't let them see how much she was hurt.

And so she looked at Mason in the eye, and said, "Mase, let's get drunk tonight." And get drunk is what they did. Soon the world was spinning in a mini-whirlwind. Rose danced with Mase in ways that shouldn't be in public, letting the stress release take over.

"Rose," a voice said. Rose blinked tying to clear her blurry vision but kept seeing three Jill's.

"Why are you swaying?" Rose slurred her words together.

"You're drunk, great, now who's going to drive us?" For some reason, Rose found Jill's exasperation hilarious and started giggling uncomfortably until she snorted, which made her laugh some more.

"Rose, come on, let's take you home, your mom doesn't even know you're here!" Jill said, always the responsible one. She dragged a still dancing Rose out the door and led her towards her car. Mason and Eddie went to get their own.

"But, Jill! I still want to dance!" Rose whined. Jill suddenly felt like she was the responsible adult here even though Rose was supposed to be older.

"Let's just get you home. It's been a long night." Rose stomped her feet but still followed her. And before Jill could protest, she was in the driver's seat.

"Oh no. The last thing we need is for you to be drunk driving." But she sat in the passenger seat, knowing full well that Rose knew how to drive and she didn't. "Please try to be carful," Jill said, her innocence leaking through. "I don't want you to get pulled over by the cops."

"Don't worry, Jill," Rose smiled lopsidedly, "I know what I'm doing." Jill wanted to argue but Rose had already pulled out of the parking lot.

"Fine," Jill crossed her thin arms across her barley-there chest. Just then Rose's phone rang.

"Hell-ooo!" Rose answered, dragging out the word.

"Yo, Rose, I'm right behind your car." Mason said the wrong thing. Rose turned around to see if she could see his car, but in that millisecond, Jill saw a truck going in their direction.

There was no warning except the scream that erupted from deep within Jill. Rose was half turned when she felt the impact. The car was thrown off the road and fell down a hill Rose hadn't seen, maybe because she had been too drunk to notice.

There was the sound of metal bending, of flesh being squeezed, of a scream that pierced through the air. In what seemed like a few seconds, the car had stopped moving, and darkness consumed Rose.

Rose woke up in a flash, her face damp from tears she had shed in her sleep. She ran a shaky hand across her face to dry of the tears. There were very few times she had allowed herself to think back to that day, though the impact of what happened were still drilled into her conscious.

There was now point in finishing the dream anyway. She remembered waking up in a white-walled hospital, and receiving the news that Jill, her best friend, had shot out of the car and died after hitting her head on a stone nearby, and along with the impact of having her tiny body slammed against the car finished her off. Mason and Eddie had been there when she yelled the place down to be left alone by everybody. Only Mason was brave enough to stay by her side, but Rose knew that Eddie had been crying, evident in his puffy red eyes when he spoke to her later in the day. Just seeing the miserable look in his eyes were enough to make Rose feel even worse because she knew that Eddie and Jill had had a thing going on. They hadn't been official but Rose knew that they both cared about each other, and Rose had taken that away.

Mason had hugged her and told her that it hadn't been her fault. But Rose knew the truth. She knew that Jill had told her, begged her, not to drive and there she went and drove, and killed Jill in the process. But still, Mason stuck to her side until she was released from the hospital. And then a few weeks later, she had moved homes, again, but that time she hadn't minded because she hated going down the street and seeing an echo of Jill everywhere, of seeing the accusing looks her neighbors gave her, of being labeled as a killer and backstabber because she had killed her best friend.

Before she knew what she was doing, Rose had pushed buttons on her phone and waited for the other person to reply. It wasn't until she had heard the beeping in the ear that she realized she had called Dimitri. And she got his voicemail.

She stared at the phone for a while, not knowing why it unsettled her for him not to reply. But…hadn't the kiss they had shared meant anything? Sure, maybe, Rose wasn't ready to admit to her feelings but at least it would of meant enough for him to answer right? And…

Stop it, Rose, she growled at herself, he has a life that he has to take care of. He isn't in charge of your little meltdowns. At that was when she realized she wanted him to be, and was ready to take the next step, and that's why she had unconsciously called him from all her contacts.

Her phone lit up as she got a new text. She opened it.

Srry I couldn't answer. I'm a family dinner. But this is better ;) –D

Rose did a mini dance as she realized she had been right. He was just busy and couldn't answer by call. And what made it even better, was the fact that he had texted back. Sure it wasn't a phone call, but it still made her melt to think that a god like Dimitri was talking to her in secret. It made her feel special.

It's cool. How's dinner going? –R

Rose suddenly loved how normal, how much better and happier Dimitri made her, and she loved it even more that he didn't even know what he was doing.

Good, actually. Fnoisf hey! Who are you? And BTW, I'm Dimitri's sister Victoria! :D

Suddenly, her walls came crashing down, as she didn't know how to reply. Much less talk to someone she hadn't even heard off. Before she could make up her mind, another text appeared.

Srry bout that. Crazy sis stole my phone from under the table and I tried to take it from her without being noticed. –D

She seemed nice. I didn't know you had a sister. –R

There's much to talk about in that department and we were interrupted last time ;) –D

That made heat rush over her body. Right, when she had thought he had been talking to Tasha and wasn't. And when he had kissed her.

Oh yea. So 'bout this sister of yours? –R

Oh, Vikka is just a little excited. Says she's never seen me with a girl before and was thinking stuff about me –D

Well. Tell her I can vouch for you that you are very straight. ;) –R

If you want. I can show you other skills I've got. ;) –D

Oh god. It was ridiculous how easily he was able to make her heart speed up, and the image of him winking at her didn't help. Damn, she sounded like a character of a romance book, so she decided to end it short.

I've g2g, srry. But I'll think about it. –R

Kay :( –D

And that was that. Rose instantly felt lonely again but she didn't want to disturb Dimitri this late, and he was with family so it seemed sort of rude.

All she was left with, was a smile on her face, and the surprising feeling of having lifted a weight from her shoulders as she went back to sleep, and this time, she didn't dream of an accident, instead she dreamt of a dreamy brown-eyed guy that rode her on his motorcycle away from all her problems.

Well, there you guys have it! I'm sorry it had to be cut short to early, but it is done! Remember I love to read your lovely reviews so please do so! :D
