HI! You know what's good about not having the internet for a little while? It forces you to do stuff like find the chapters you thought were lost. Ya know when you lose five chapters to a fic it's kind of discouraging so I kinda abandoned it. But it's back! I was rereading this and holy typos batman, when I have more time I'm going to go through and edit :)

The summer heat turned into fall winds as September's breeze was starting to turn into October's orange eyes. It was well past midnight and everyone was fast asleep inside the Hudmel residence. Kurt awoke to his phone vibrating on the bedside table. He blindly fumbled for the phone and answered it with a groggy 'hello' not even bothering to look at the caller ID.

"Hi, Kurt?" The voice on the other side of the line asked.

"Yea."

"I'm sorry for waking you up, it's Joshua, Blaine's dad." Kurt shot up in bed, no longer sleepy.

"What happened is everything okay?"

"He's fine, he's just having a really bad nightmare. He hasn't had one this intense in a long time. Can you come up?"

"I'll be right there."

"The door is unlocked." Kurt hung up the phone and shuffled to his father and step mother's room. The door was open so he tip toed in. He lightly shook his father's shoulder and the man opened his eyes.

"Hey Bud, what's wrong?"

"Mr. Anderson called me and said Blaine is having his nightmares again and he wants me to come up. Is that okay?"

"Absolutely, go help your bo- your friend, go help your friend." Kurt heard the slip up, but decided to ignore it looking at it as a slip of a tired tongue.

Kurt snuck back out of the room and quietly climbed to the third floor landing. He opened the door and entered the small apartment. He could hear the choked sobs from the living room and saw Mr. Anderson standing in his son's doorway. It was obvious he had been crying too.

Kurt walked to the room and Joshua patted him on his back and stepped away from the door. Kurt quickly got under the covers and moved close to Blaine bringing him into a tight hold. He immediately began singing softly into the trembling boy's ear.

"A chair is still a chair,
even if there is no one sitting there.
But a chair is not a house,
and a house is not a home
When there's no one there to hold you tight,
and there's no one there to kiss goodnight..."

Kurt felt Blaine's unconscious body relax in his arms. Joshua looked on from the doorway before walking to his room in tears. He really wished he could fix this all for his son, but he knows that he can't. He was just grateful that there is someone who can.

The minutes passed and Kurt sang song after song into Blaine's ear until his breathing evened out and his body stopped trembling. Just as Kurt was ready to close his eyes and fall asleep he felt Blaine change positions. He flipped over facing Kurt and cuddled into the crook of his shoulder. Kurt lifted his hand to gently massage his scalp. He felt a deep hyperventilated breath and sighed. He looked at Blaine, looking at his face in the light from the street lights that was coming into the room from the open window.

It was in that moment that it hit him. His friend was gorgeous, perfect even. Even with tear track stained cheeks he was completely perfect. He felt something in his stomach that he never felt before. He pressed a kiss onto his forehead and curled into Blaine as much as he could and decided to sleep on it. He could figure out whatever it is he was feeling after sleep... and coffee. Definitely coffee.

It was sometime in the middle of the night when Blaine awoke to a pounding headache and pains throughout every muscle in his body. He knew that his nightmare was a horrible one, but he couldn't help but feel calm. His dream had changed from terror to joy. In his dream he and Kurt were laying together and Kurt was singing to him. It felt so right. In his dream he and Kurt weren't just friends. They were more. Kurt had just kissed him right before he woke up. It felt so perfect so natural.

Kurt coughed in his sleep causing Blaine to jump, nearly falling off the bed. His eyes adjusted to the light and saw that it was Kurt in the bed. His dad must have called him. He looked at the sleeping boy and smiled. Even in his sleep he looked so amazingly beautiful. He wanted nothing more than to kiss him right then, but he thought better of it. He watched as Kurt rolled onto his side facing the wall. Blaine laid back down and slid right behind the taller boy taking the position as the big spoon. He draped his arm around his waist and curled his head as close to Kurt's as he could. He sighed and smiled, making sure to inhale deeply just to smell Kurt as he drifted back off to sleep.

At six am Joshua woke up for work and saw both boys fast asleep tangled in the sheets. The both looked so peaceful and happy he didn't have the heart to wake them. He would do anything for his son to have a moment of happiness. He walked to the kitchen to call Burt.

"Morning Burt."

"Mornin' Josh, how's Blaine?"

"He's okay he's probably going to be exhausted today though. Thanks for letting Kurt come up."

"It's no problem, I remember when these kids would get them. I would have all three having one at once, not fun times."

"I'm keeping Blaine home from school, he won't be physically up for it today, is it okay for Kurt to stay with him. I wish I could, but I have to work."

"Yea I don't think one day is the end of the world. Just make sure he's there to get Sky off the bus."

"No problem, thanks." The two men said their goodbyes and Joshua wrote the boys a note, deciding on letting them sleep. It had been a very long night for all of them.

It was almost noon before either boy stirred and at that, it was only to move closer to each other. Blaine opened his eyes first. They fluttered as he tried to focus. The first thing he saw was the beautiful creation right next to him. He smiled and curled closer into the taller boy's chest.

Kurt woke up at the feeling of Blaine curling into his chest. He smiled. Just like last night, there was no awkwardness to waking up with your friend like this, it just felt right. He pulled Blaine in closer as he whispered "Morning."

"Good morning." The boys stayed in that position enjoying the moment until Kurt suddenly realized he didn't know what time it is.

"Shit, Blaine what time is it?" Blaine rolled over and saw his phone on the table with a sticky note attached. He chuckled, his dad and his damn sticky notes.

"It's almost noon, but my dad left a note. He said your dad pulled you out of school today. You just have to be home in time to get Sky."

Kurt relaxed and Blaine laid back down, not on top of Kurt again, but right next to him. Kurt saw him wince as he laid back down. "Are you okay?"

"Yea, my body just hurts. It's why my dad kept me out of school. Whenever I have a bad nightmare I wake up in a ridiculous amount of pain."

"Listen, you stay right here. I'm going to run downstairs, brush my teeth, and grab something. I'll be right back."

Blaine wanted to reply something along the lines of 'please don't go', but all that came out was "Okay." He wasn't quite sure why he didn't want him to leave, but he was beginning to grasp the realization.
