"Are you sure you want to go?" A soft spoken voice asked, curling into the taller person's body that was holding her.
The taller girl nodded her head against the one she was currently cuddling with, "I need to see her at some point, it's just been so long."
"Do you want me to go with you?" The smaller one asked, comfort clear in her soft voice.
"If you don't mind." The taller one asked.
Moving out of her comfortable position against Ruby, Neo climbed out of the bed they were sharing to get ready.
Ruby turned around with a blush on her face as she saw Neo getting dressed, and decided to give her some privacy while she climbed out and changed with her back to Neo.
Once both girls were dressed and presentable they left their dorm room avoiding most of the students in the halls as the two girls walked hand in hand towards the schools infirmary.
As they were about to turn the last corner to the corridor where the infirmary was, Ruby suddenly pushed Neo against the wall to stop them from going any further.
Neo glanced at Ruby, her gaze questioning why Ruby had pushed her into the wall, she got her answer a few seconds later when she heard a familiar voice echo down the hallway.
"But I need to stay until she wakes up!" Yang voice echoed.
"You need to rest Yang, properly rest and not on that chair in the room." Blake's unmistakably voice sounded out.
Ruby and Neo stood against the wall for another five minutes hearing the two older girls argue until finally, Yang relented and agreed to go back to their dorm room.
Once the two girls were sure it was clear moved from the wall and opened the door to the infirmary. When they got inside they saw the nurse had left, leaving them alone in the room.
The infirmary was large, it had to be considering it was a school training people to be huntresses and hunters, whose very name speaks of the danger they were in almost daily.
Inside the room were ten beds, all separate from each other allowing privacy between patients, on the further one from the door laid a woman, she looked like a much older version of Ruby, but much paler and longer hair then Ruby that went from black to dark red as it moved down to her shoulders.
Ruby and Neo slowly walked over to the bed, a chair placed beside it that was still a little warm. Ruby sat down on the chair and reached over to take her mother's hand into both of her own, while Neo placed her hand onto Ruby's shoulder to tell her she was here if she needed her.
The two girls stood/sat there for a while, neither speaking, Ruby because she didn't know what to say and Neo because she didn't want to intrude. So they sat in silence, except for the heart rate monitor telling them that Summer Rose was still alive.
Eventually Ruby gathered the courage to speak, albeit in a softer voice then her normal voice, "Hey mum, it's been a while hasn't it?"
Pausing for a minute Ruby tried to think what else she wanted to say, "I've missed you mum, please come back to me soon." Ruby begged quietly to her mother as she squeezed her hand tightly, Ruby barely holding back her tears as she spoke.
The two girls remained at Summers bedside for almost an hour, Ruby with her forehead on her mother's hand as she silently cried at seeing her mother after so long, and the state she was in. Neo could only hug Ruby and offer some form of comfort to her girlfriend as she cried for her mother.
As her tears dried up Ruby returned the hug Neo was giving her, and leaned in to kiss her until they were interrupted.
"Ah Miss Rose, Miss Neo, I thought I would find you here." Professor Ozpins voice sounded out inside the infirmary causing the two girls to jump back from each other.
Smiling Ozpin walked over to a chair, moving it over for Neo to sit down on before taking one for himself, sitting on the opposite side to the girls, so Summer was between the two he waited a minute before speaking.
"It's been a while since I've seen Summer, I don't know if you had known Miss Rose, but I was a friend of your mothers, and I was the one who sent her on the mission that ended in her capture." Ozpin said, his voice filled with sadness for what happened.
Pausing to see how the two girls were taking the information he was sharing before continuing, "I've spent years trying to find her, even when they believed her to be dead, after a while it's just assumed but I kept looking whenever I could." Ozpin spoke wistfully.
Ozpin stopped himself from drifting off as he focused on the two girls who were both wearing a blank expression, "Miss Rose, what are your thoughts on this? You've been oddly silent." Ozpin asked the younger girl.
Ruby thought for a moment, trying to put into words her thoughts, "Professor, I made peace with my mother's death a while ago, I knew she was a huntress and what that entails so I understood the risks, even at a young age I knew it." Ruby spoke softly, squeezing Neo's hand as she remembered when her mother left.
Ozpin nodded his head in response, a slight smile forming on the corner of his lips, "I understand Miss Rose, according to the doctors we've had in working on your mother, and she will be fine and is expected to wake up within the next couple of days."
Ruby nodded her head in response as Ozpin started to stand up, leaning on his cane.
"Miss Rose and Miss Neo, when you are able to I would like you to come up to my office and speak to me, I may have something for you to do." Nodding his head at the two, "Have a good day girls." Ozpin said before leaving the two girls alone in the infirmary.
The two girls stayed for a little bit longer, enjoying the comfortable quiet between them, not long after a nurse came to check on Summer, the two girls decided it was time to leave.
Squeezing her mother's hand one last time Ruby said, "I'll see you soon mom." As Ruby spoke it seemed the heart rate monitor jumped for a second before returning to normal.
Stunned for a second Ruby stopped and looked at her mother, before finally leaving with Neo, hand in hand.
The two girls walked out of the infirmary making sure no one was outside as they started to head towards Ozpin's office to find out what he wanted to talk with them about.
As they got close to the office they saw more students walking about but all of them avoided the two girls once they saw Ruby, giving the girl scared looks before moving out of her way.
Ruby ignored these people and tightened her hold onto Neo's hand until eventually they got to Ozpin's office where his secretary let them inside straight away.
As soon as they got inside they saw Ozpin speaking with two other students, the rabbit ears poking out from behind one of the chairs it was clear who the two other students were.
Coco and Velvet turned around from where Ozpin was to see Ruby and Neo standing near the door, immediately the two girls moved from their seats over to Ruby and Neo.
Coco was to Ruby first, her hands flying over Ruby to check her over for any problems as she hadn't seen the girl for the last couple days, it took Velvet to calm Coco from going any further on checking Ruby.
Velvet spoke softly to Ruby, "Hello Ruby, how are you?"
Smiling at the two girls Ruby answered just as softly, "I'm alright guys, thank you for worrying, what are you doing here anyway?" Ruby asked the girls.
Ozpin chose this moment to speak up, "They're here because I invited them here, I have a mission for you four and I was just telling them what it was about." Ozpin said, directing the girls over to his desk to show them a map that was laid out on it.
"This is a map of Mistral, as you can see the capital and the school, Haven Academy and Sanctum are all marked, you also know that it is home to a key trading route between the Kingdoms as well." Ozpin started to inform the four girls.
Coco chose this moment to speak up, "Um Sir, we already know all this."
"Ah quite right Miss Adel forgive me, now as we already know from Miss Neo's information the students who infiltrated the academy alongside her, Cinder Fall, Emerald and Mercury they all hail from this area somewhere." Ozpin started to inform, before highlighting another region, a forest area.
"I want you to first go to Haven and Sanctum to look into their networks to find anything out about them to see if they were students there or not, don't worry about being questioned by staff they know you are there under my order and you'll also have a member of staff going with you." Ozpin informed the girls.
Without pausing to take any questions Ozpin continued, "If that turns up nothing then you are to go to the capital city to find out anything you can, you'll work with local law enforcement to look into citizen records for the kingdom and then if you find anything look into anything related to her or her associates." Ozpin informed the team.
All four nodded before Coco spoke up with the obvious question, "So which teacher is going with us?"
"Miss Goodwitch will be going with you, she is currently setting up transport to the kingdom as we speak." Ozpin informed the four girls.
All four nodded, understanding why she was the staff assigned to them as she was good in dealing with this sort of thing and Velvet thought it was also to help Ruby out.
Neo spoke up, asking the question Ruby wanted to ask, "But what about Summer? Ruby can't really go to another kingdom while her mother is downstairs in the infirmary."
"Miss Rose will be kept well informed of her mother's status and if needs be then Ruby saw travel back here to her mother, but according to the doctors she won't wake up for a week at the earliest, which by that time your mission is expected to have already ended." Ozpin stated to Neo and Ruby.
Looking at the four girls Ozpin waited to hear if there were any more questions to be asked but when I was clear there was not he finished off, "Alright then, if you go and get your gear and head down to the docks you'll find Miss Goodwitch waiting for you, good luck and happy hunting." Ozpin finished off, dismissing the four huntresses in training.
The four huntresses all left the headmasters office and walked quickly down to the locker room to get their weapons and spare combat gear ready for the mission and within half an hour all four were ready and heading to the docks.
On their way to the docks the four girls were all speaking to each other about the upcoming mission and what they expected to happen during the mission.
As they were walking outside the school Ruby saw a familiar colour of blonde hair standing next to familiar white hair causing her to turn and grabs Neo's hand, her intent clear as the two girls vanished.
Coco and Velvet looked on confused at what happened and were still standing there when Yang and Weiss came over to the two girls.
Yang looked around confused for a minute before turning to Coco, "Wasn't Ruby here just a minute ago?" She asked, sounding hopeful.
"She was, but then she and Neo just disappeared." Coco told the girl.
Yang seemed to grow sad as she heard the news, "Oh I see, where are you all going?" Yang asked, hoping to find out if she could see her sister soon.
"We've got a mission in Mistral, we'll be away for about a week." Velvet informed the two girls but the news only seemed to make Yang seem sadder.
"Could you ask Ruby to give me a call when she has a chance please?" Yang asked the two girls, and once she received a nod the two left them alone to head back to the school.
Coco and Velvet exchanged confused looks at what happened, assuming it was still fallout from when Ruby shouted at Yang.
Within minutes the two girls made it to the Bullhead that would take them to Mistral and found Neo and Ruby already inside with Professor Goodwitch waiting outside for the other two girls.
"Hello girls, climb aboard and we'll get on the move." Glynda told the two students who quickly climbed into the aircraft and stored their gear.
After five minutes of sitting in silence the aircraft doors finally closed and they started to rise up in the air before flying off in a sudden burst of speed from the aircraft.
Four huntresses in training and one full huntress were on their way to Mistral, unknown to any of them there was someone watching them from within the school.
The figure put a radio up to his mouth and speaking softly into it, "Miss Fall the target is on the move, and tracker is in place." The figure received no answer except for a single double click over the radio to tell him that it had been heard.

Been a while hasn't it? Sorry I haven't really had motivation or any idea's to actually write, or at least finish anything. I've got about four things half written at the moment, some closer to being complete than others.
On that note in a couple hours I'll have a new story up, something I had a sudden burst of inspiration to write. It's a Vocaloid x RWBY Crossover involving Ruby, IA, Miku and Luka as the main characters with others being in supporting roles like Ozpin and Blake. I'll say this when I post it but if you like Weiss and I mean hate anything bad with her then don't read it as Weiss is sort of the bad girl in it, alongside Yang sort of as well. Anyway if it's pecked your interest it should be up at some point tonight.
Anyway thanks for reading and for reviewing if you do so, the next couple chapters will be easier for me as I have an idea of what to do.
