Chapter 10

I'm sorry the updates are not going as planned but this semester of school is a lot busier than I thought it would be. Will try to write as often as I can. Probably will make short chapters in order to update. Thank you for your patience. I know what it is to wait for a new chapter.

Official pairing: Toushiro and Hinata.

~Normal POV~

Hinata woke up with a headache and throbbing pain on her eyes. As she lay on her futon, she remembered the events of the previous day. She got trained, then her eyes, then her getting cleaned, Ichigo hugging and Toushiro and his hair.

Hinata knew that the pain she was having wasn't from her training incident. She relaxed her body and goes into deeper thoughts. She gasped as she remembered what happened after her moment with Toushiro and fallen asleep.

She had been in a room-like, everything was white. There were no furniture but a white with black chair. She turned around to look for a sort of exit and found nothing, not even walls. She wasn't wearing bandages and was just wearing a white simple kimono.

"Hinata." Said a masculine voice behind her.

She spun quickly towards the source of the voice and found a young man elegantly yet casually sitting on the chair.

"Who are you?" She asked cautious.

"My name is… and I'm here to help you." The man said. "But it seems I cannot do that yet since you haven't found yourself completely."

Hinata was confused as to what he meant and was about to tell him to explain when the man stood from the chair.

The man was around six feet tall, he was lean. He was wearing an elegant all-white suit, but with a black tie. He had slightly long but neat black hair and black eyes, making his pale skin contrast. He appeared to be a year or two older than her.

Hinata stiffed and was alert to any of the movements the man in front of her made.

The man smiled and before Hinata could think anything of it, the man was in front of her choking her.

She gasped for hair and tried to reach any part of his body to make him stop but couldn't. The man kept on smiling until it turned into a frown. He let go of her neck and his next action surprised Hinata, he was hugging her.

She tried to get away from him but he was a lot stronger than she thought and held her in place. Once he let go, he looked up at her with sad eyes.

"I didn't mean to hurt you." He said. "I wanted you to call for me."

Hinata was confused but only stared at the man who looked like a lost puppy.

"I thought that if I brought out your powers by force you would call out to my name." He looked down at the floor. "You heard Ryuu's name." he pouted like a little child.

To this Hinata couldn't help but giggle. The man in front of her was jealous of the dragon she dreamt about before. She hugged him and laughed in his chest.

The man pouted even more at her giggles and was surprised she hugged him. But he couldn't help but smile.

"Please tell me your name again." Hinata asked still hugging him.

At her request, the man let go and held her at arm's distance. "If I tell you, and you can hear it this time, you might go through a lot of pain." He said in a concerned voice.

"Why?" Hinata asked out of curiosity. She wasn't that worried anymore, everything new to her was giving her pain.

"You have opened your byakugan, therefore, awakened Ryuu and I. Once I tell you my name and you hear it you will awaken the rest of your power. However, you weren't able to see Ryuu's other form, meaning you have one more step before you awaken your full power." He explained.

"How come I saw this form of you?" she asked.

"You are more aware of your inner world, I deemed you aware enough to show you this form." The man said more serious. "But Ryuu is more serious than I am. Sometimes I think it has a stick up… Anyway! You will meet Ryuu when it deems you powerful enough and show you its true form."

"What do I have to do to get more powerful?" she asked.

"For now, just gain your eye sight back. Once you've done that. I will come back and tell you what to do next." He said. He saw her nod in understanding. "Are you ready for to hear my name?" he asked worried.

She gave an affirmative reply. He sighed as he knew that this would bring her pain. "My name is Hiro."

"Hiro." Hinata repeated. Seconds later Hinata started feeling a pressure wanting to burst out from her body. Her eyes felt like they were being burned. All of her body starting shining in a white light. She looked up to see Hiro was standing there with an apologetic smile, vanishing slowly until a white dragon with black eyes was standing in front of her.

Hinata nodded at the dragon as if she knew what he was about to do.

The dragon launched towards her and slowly started disappearing as soon as it made contact with her.

Once the last visible body part of the dragon was in her did she feel numb, however that moment didn't last long as seconds later the pain intensified a hundred times more than the previous one. Her eyes started bleeding and radiating a white light.

This only lasted a few seconds until everything blacked out.

Next thing she remembered was waking up with her eyes bandaged, as custom now, but she was able to see human shapes around the body and their reiatsu, she could recognize Ichigo's and Toushiro's reiatsu on her right side, seconds later Unohana was on right side with reiatsu glowing on her hand, Urahara and Yoruichi were by the door as well as Rukia and Renji, however, they were on their knees. Then she blacked out.

After her flashback, she tried to sit up and realized moving hurt every muscle in her body.

"U..Uru..Ururu.." Hinata tried to call but her voice was hoarse.

However, Ururu with her amazing hearing abilities, came to her rescue immediately with a glass of water. Ururu helped her sit up and gave her to drink, since Hinata couldn't even move her arms.

Hinata drinks the water greedily, ignoring the pain, and gives a quick thank you to Ururu.

Ururu slowly lays her back down and leaves the room to inform the others Hinata has awaken.

Soon after Urahara, Yoruichi and Unohana come in to room and sit next to Hinata's futon.

Unohana does a quick check up.

"Hyuga-san, do you remember anything of yesterday's events?" asked Urahara serious.

Hinata nodded slowly. "I… was… able…to..see…rei…reiatsu." she struggled to say.

The three adults in the room were surprised at what she said. "You released an extreme amount of reiatsu yesterday after your training. Causing your body to be in this much pain. Specially your eyes."

Hinata knew that this had to do with her dream. "I dreamed… about a… dragon…" she was trying to explain the reasons of the outburst. She could tell this called their attention. "Power… into my…body…"

"The dragon offered power?" asked Yoruichi, wondering if she was talking about a zanpakuto.

Hinata nodded. "Inside me… half…power…" was all Hinata got to say before she fell asleep exhausted.

The three former and current captains stared at the girl in front of them in shock. They left the room after Unohana did a second check-up.

"Is she talking about a zanpakuto?" asked Yoruichi.

"I'm not sure, but I did notice that she now holds more reiatsu than before. This could be a problem if her body can't control it." Said Unohana.

"It seems that every time we advance, there's something that makes us go back." Said Yoruichi.

"This can't be done without the actual proper training. She needs to attend the academy or at least get training from her own clan. This is getting out of hands. She will die if we don't do something soon." Said Urahara, concern and anger in his voice. "Her body looked almost broken today and that was only with half of the power she said she received. What's going to happen when she gains the other half? Will her body take the amount of reiatsu?" He was clearly getting stressed out about the situation, which was unusual.

"We have to go talk to head captain again, and now." Said Unohana, knowing that the girl's soul will be crushed by her own reiatsu if they didn't do anything quickly.

That evening, the human group and the shinigami group went to visit Hinata but were told she was still resting by Ururu. They refused to leave and had said they would wait until she woke up.

While they waited, Urahara informed them of Hinata's current health situation. These news had worried the teenagers to the point where they wanted to barge in her room to make sure she was well.

Orohime asked if she was able to check up on her which Urahara said she could. Ichigo protested to see her but to no vail as Urahara explained that it would be better if not too many people disturbed Hinata.

When Orohime came into the room she did not expect the wave of reiatsu flowing off from Hinata. Apparently Urahara had sealed the room so her reiatsu wouldn't attract hollows.

After adjusting to Hinata's reiatsu, she let her Soten Kisshun over her body. Orohime could feel the great amount of reiatsu flowing as well as how it was slowly breaking Hinata's body. Fortunately, her Soten Kisshun was able to heal Hinata's body. While she kept on healing Hinata, she could tell Hinata was gaining color to her face again, her face was not furrowed and actually look calm, her reiatsu also seemed to adjust to her body instead of trying to burst out.

Urahara came in having noticed the difference of reiatsu in the atmosphere, and noticed that Hinata was looking a lot better than before.

"Urahara-san." Greeted Orohime, wiping the sweat from her brow. It seemed that healing Hinata was taking a toll on her.

"Inoue-san! You should take a break. I think you've done a wonderful job in helping Hinata." He said cheerfully.

"I just want to make sure that her reiatsu is all settled before I leave." She said looking over to Hinata.

"You should know that her reiatsu won't stop overflowing until she learns how to control it herself Inoue san." He informed Orohime.

"Even more reason for me to stay!" she exclaimed.

"Inoue-san! This is overdoing it." He said.

'"But Hinata-san needs help and if I ca-" Orohime was interrupted by Hinata waking up with a coughing fit.

Seconds later Ururu came in the room with water and helped Hinata drink it.

"Hinata-san!" greeted Orohime. Probably two seconds later the group of teenagers and shinigami were at door and barged in.

"Hi guys." Greeted Hinata with a hoarse voice.

"How are you feeling?" asked Ichigo as he sat down next to her and put his hand on her forehead to check for any fever.

Hinata removed his hand and held it in place. "I'm fine now Ichigo. Thanks to Inoue-san." Said Hinata and she smiled with gratitude to Orohime.

"It's nothing Hinata-san! I only did what I could." Said Orohime waving her hands around.

"How is your reiatsu Hyuga-san?" asked Urahara with a hint of seriousness.

"It has adapted. However, I can feel it building up again." She said.

"Do your eyes hurt?" he asked,

Hinata touched the bandages on her eyes with her free hand and could feel them pulsing under her fingertips. "There is reiatsu pulsing behind it. But it does not hurt." She explained.

"Try your byakugan…" she heard Hiro voice in the back of her head.

Hinata focused her reiatsu and led it to her eyes. She could feel the veins around her eyes popping out. She opened her bandaged eyes, and was surprised that she could see the figures of everybody in the room and what looked like a nerve system for reiatsu. But what caught her attention was that she had a 360 degree vision and see her all her surroundings in a 10 km distance.

She looked around the room and saw all different type of seasl around the shop, currently there was one in her walls. However, she also saw seals on Hitsugaya and his team.

"Hinata? Are you okay?" asked Ichigo noticing how she was turning her head to both sides as if she was able to see her surroundings. She seemed to stare at Hitsugaya.

"You guys have seals." Stated Hinata as she pointed to Unohana, Matsumoto, Renji, Ikkaku, Yumichika, and Hitsugaya.

Ichigo turned to look at them and saw they were shocked at what she said.

"Hyuga-san…" called Urahara. "Is there something you would like to tell us?" asked Urahara, clearly curious as to what she was talking about.

Hinata turned to Urahara. "I have my byakugan activated." She said. She looked down for a moment and sighed. "I just deactivated. I guess I can only last so long before it starts hurting." She explained.

To say, Urahara was shocked. He quickly kneeled next to her and started removing the bandages around her eyes. Unohana quickly was next to him. Unohana ran a quick check up while Urahara was still working on the bandages and she noticed that the chakra was under control.

Once the bandages had been removed, Hinata slowly opened her eyes while adjusting to the light.

"Woah. Everything is bright." She said as looked around her surroundings. She saw Orohime was smiling with tears at the corner of her eyes, Rukia and Uryu were smiling while Chad lips were upright. Renji and Ikkaku were smirking while Yumichika was just staring deeply into her eyes. Matsumoto smiling with curiosity. While Unohana was smiling softly. Urahara was smirking. But what amazed Hinata the most were Ichigo's and Hitsugaya's expression. They both had a soft smile that one can tell it held so much happiness.

Hinata smiled brightly at everybody. They all slowly started gathering around her and told her what she had missed and other stories.

In that moment, Hitsugaya realized that Hinata had one everybody's hearts and she was slowing melting his.

Hinata spared a few seconds to look at him and smile sweetly.

He was falling for her.

He came to conclusion he would protect her with his life, no matter what.

Alright! Done with this chapter. School has been making it harder to continue writing but I am staying committed to this story as long as I see people keep on reading and reviewing.
