Chapter 9: Angels 5

A/N: Here's a quick update guys. I'll try and put up another chapter soon.

It was early December when that demon became a large distraction. Arthur was already needing to push his human to do something as his brother's death day approached fast and even he was starting to lose his luster.

But if they wanted to stay in the school they couldn't afford a slip up now. However, it seemed that his worse self had other plans.

"Just let it go," he grumbled. "If we fail out, we fail out."

"You could try applying yourself for once. It might get you somewhere."

"It might land you in a hospital." The devil grumbled.

Angel Arthur rolled his eyes and put his attention back to their human struggling with history homework when he got an idea. Hopping down from the banister he leaned into and whispered. "Call Alfred."

Arthur straightened as the idea to call Alfred passed his mind. It wasn't a bad idea, and he had offered when Arthur first stepped into class to work together, phone number included. He tried to ignore how excited he was to be able to use the blonds number. But he couldn't stop himself from rushing to the phone.

Satisfied with his work, Angel Arthur went back to where his demon self sat scowling. He too ignored the thrill in his stomach that came with the idea of Alfred coming over. Of course he was excited to see his angelic guardian. Not the demon, never him.

About an hour later, Arthur packed his school things and headed to a nearby park, guardians in unknowing tow. Five minutes to the second after, they saw Alfred and the humans settled in a café across the street to study. Angel Arthur moved to have a conversation with Alfred's Angel only to have the demon Alfred cut him off.

"Hello Angel~"

"What do you want?"

Certainly not that bite on your tongue." the devil flashed a sharp grin.

"I don't have the patience for the likes of you now kindly leave."

"Oh, but where's the fun in that?" Demon Alfred sang. "Besides, I wanted to spend some alone time with you; is that so wrong?"

"I don't return the sentiment."

Angel Arthur side stepped the demon and made to leave but he was blocked. "Oh come on, give me a chance."

"No."

"Thirty minutes and I'll let you go."

This gave Arthur pause. Yes, he could argue those thirty minutes and then be filed in leaving (then waste another thirty minutes to argue about how arguing was a perfectly acceptable pastime) Or indulge Alfred D. and accept the consequences of humoring a demon.

Later he would admit the dropping feeling in his stomach was not dread of half hour wasted.

Arthur turned and stared the demon down. "Thirty minutes. No more."

"And no less." Alfred D. smiled wickedly before whisking the angel out of the café.

A/N: Again I'll hopefully be posting another chapter soon (maybe tomorrow?)
