"Damn Father!" Sesshoumaru cursed as he looked at the sleeping brat he had wrapped up in his tail and then at the ceiling before sighing and existing the room, locking the door on his way out as he did.

...

"Hey Kagome, don't you think you should be heading back to your time?" Shippo asked curiously looking at the young girl beside him as she carefully pulled weeds up out of a small section of the garden she was working in.

"Oh! I almost forgot!" Kagome exclaimed dusting her muddy hands off as best as she could on her small pink kimono with small purple flowers on it that Sesshoumaru had given her earlier that day while carefully lifting up a small crown of flowers and placing them on her head. Without another word she ran off leaving a small pile of weeds and her already fading scent as the only proof that she had been there a few seconds prior.

"Where's Kagome going?" Sango asked popping up in the middle of the different colored flowers with Kirara sitting on her head and a handful of weeds clenched in her muddy hands scaring Shippo at her sudden appearance.

"WAH!" He yelled backpedaling away from her making her laugh loudly and attract Sakura's attention as she turned away from the three mischievous boys in front of her to look behind her at the two.

"Where's Kagome?" Sakura asked looking around the large enclosed garden for the small girl.

"She ran that way." Sango said pointing in the direction where the other girl had run making Sakura's tail flick in annoyance as she sighed loudly.

"You all stay here, I'll be right back." Sakura said walking between the beds of colorful flowers towards the castle leaving the five kids behind with Kirara, who immediately jumped down from her spot on Sango's head and walked over to a large boulder near the group to watch them.

"Hey look! It's Kohaku!" Miroku yelled as they caught sight of the boy wearing light weight green armor and a skin tight black suit with a chained scythe pinned to his back by his belt as he walked beside a large man with dark skin, and white eyes that were immediately drawn to the small group of children. His armor was bigger than Kohaku's, covering his whole upper body instead of his chest and shoulders, and he wore hard black plates on his legs that looked heavy but seemed to leave the man unaffected.

"Kohaku," the man rumbled in a deep voice that reminded InuYasha of a bear demon that had tried to eat him one time. "I believe you have a group of admirers." The man said breaking out into a smile as he kneeled down to look at Miroku and Kaoru, who ran up to him while Sango ran up to Kohaku with a big smile.

"Kohaku!" Sango squealed happily jumping into the boy's arms surprising him before he instinctively wrapped his arms around the smaller girl who was laughing.

"You shouldn't do that," Kohaku told her with a small smile as he set her back down and rubbed Kirara's ears when she looked up at him. "What if I hadn't caught you?" He continued turning his head to look at the small girl as she tapped her chin and looked up at the bright blue sky in thought.

"But you did catch me." She said after a short pause pointing up at Kohaku as he stood back up and looked at the large demon beside him as he watched the trio of boys fake fighting each other in front of him with amusement on his features, his eyes shinning with mirth.

"Um, sir. Don't you think we should get back to work?" Kohaku asked cautiously making the large man jerk and clap his hands with a look of surprise.

"Yes! Who know's who will attack the castle at a time like this?" The man exclaimed before stalking off leaving a small pile of boys, one on top of the other, watching him leave.

"Good bye Sango," Kohaku waved as he ran to catch up with the fading guard. Sango waved at his retreating figure until she could no longer see him and wiped her eyes before skipping back to the flower bed. Leaving the trio of trouble to talk among themselves.

"What kind of demon was that anyway? It smelled awful!" InuYasha exclaimed folding his arms and sitting down cross legged, his little ears moving around as he listened to the noise around the area while watching Kaoru and Miroku become thoughtful.

"It smelled like a boar demon, but it sure didn't look like one!" Koaru said wrinkling his sensitive nose before sneezing loudly making Miroku jump in surprise.

"Who cares about the demon? What about the girls?" Miroku asked looking around and it was then all three boys realized Sango was no longer with them in the garden and they were all alone with Shippo, who was sprawled out on the grass nearby snoring softly.

"Oh crap," InuYasha thought looking up at the sky as he caught sight of a strange shadow flying over them.

...

"Mr. Inutai, why can't I go home yet?" Kagome asked looking up at the demon sitting behind his desk and staring at a scroll in front of him intently.

"Mr. Inutai, am I in trouble with my mommy?" Kagome asked tears coming to her eyes as Inutaishou sighed and picked her up with his tail surprising her before the tears could fall.

"No, your not in trouble. Don't worry your mommy is just...uh...she's uh..." Inutaishou stopped trying to figure out a good excuse to tell the dark haired girl staring up at him with big eyes from her spot wrapped up in his tail.

"Kagome!" A faint voice called reaching Inutaishou's sensitive ears causing him to turn his head in the direction, his hand automatically reaching for the Tetsusaiga before he relaxed slightly as he recognized the voice as Sakura.

"Kagome, where are you?" Sakura called, this time much closer as Kagome turned her head to the door in response as it opened a minute later to reveal Sakura looking first at Kagome, with a look of slight relief and anger before looking over at Inutaishou as he smirked at her.

"Missing someone?" He teased as he carefully set Kagome down on the floor in front of his desk as Sakura stepped further into the room and closed the door, giving the dog demon a feline glare before kneeling down to Kagome's height.

"Kagome, why did you leave the garden?" Sakura asked calmly in a light voice as the girl fidgeted in place.

"I had to find Mister Inutai." Kagome whispered looking down at her bare feet instead of at Sakura, who at that moment looked over at said demon who only shrugged.

"Alright, why did you have to find him?" Sakura asked and was surprised as the little girl looked up at her with big eyes that were beginning to fill with tears.

"Be-because I-I wan-want to go ho-home!" Kagome hiccuped looking up at Sakura before being pulled into a comforting hug as she cried for her mother. After a minute the crying faded into hiccups then into silence as Sakura continued to hold the small girl in her arms while Inutaishou tried not to look at them and forced all his attention onto the scroll.

"Father," Sesshoumaru said knocking on the door politely before opening it a minute later. As he looked up he caught sight of Sakura holding Kagome and raised a single brow before walking over to Inutaishou and handing him another scroll bearing the mark of a bow with a leaf on it.

"This comes from InuYasha's village," Sesshoumaru said before turning to leave, only stopped to look over at Kagome who had noticed him and watched him quietly with tear streaked cheeks.

"She reminds me of the older Rin." He thought before looking at Sakura and nodding at her as he stepped out. Sakura bowed her head in respect before looking over at Inutaishou, who was reading the scroll with interest.

"I suggest you open the door, Sakura. It seems we have another visitor." Inutaishou said with a smirk as he looked over the scroll to watch as Sakura gave him a confused look but none the less opened the door to reveal Sango standing there with a small banquet of flowers in her hands as she grinned proudly.

"Why hello there Sango! Why do you have so many flowers?" Inutaishou asked with a smile as Kagome became distracted as her best friend walked into the room.

"They're a present for you and Sesshy and Sakura!" Sango said running over and placing several different blue and yellow flowers on his desk neatly before going over to Sakura and handing her several light purple and dark red flowers to her, leaving her with a handful of white, red, and yellow flowers.

"Thank you Sango! Why don't you and Kagome go find Sesshoumaru. I do believe he went to the east wing." Inutaishou told the duo sending them running off to find his eldest as Sakura turned to look at him.

"Well? What did the scroll say?" Sakura asked as Inutaishou rolled it up and tossed it to her to read.

"It seems a Priestess named Keade wants to know if Sesshoumaru has seen his brother. He and his group have yet to arrive back at the village and she is getting worried since she has heard nothing of them." Inutaishou said as Sakura's eyes scanned over the document quickly before rolling it up quickly.

"If it's for Sesshoumaru, why didn't he read it?" Sakura asked walking over to Inutaishou as he neatly signed a scroll and set it to the side to dry.

"Because this is addressed for the Lord of the West. Apparently my revival has yet to reach the ears of this priestess or she does not rely solely on rumors." Inutaishou said leaning back and folding his arms across his chest, much like InuYasha.

"What are you thinking." Sakura asked looking at the demon as his face seemed to brighten suddenly as an idea popped into his head.

"I think it's time I took a short trip." Inutaishou said standing up before suddenly falling back onto the chair with a look of surprise.

"Not so fast you overgrown mongrel. Finish going through these scrolls and getting them done then maybe you can leave." Sakura said with a smirk as she turned and left, her sleek tail swaying behind her as she wrapped it back around her middle. Inutaishou laughed to himself before opening a scroll and groaning at the list of complaints coming from along his borders.
