Fenn: Seriously? I should be asleep!
Me: Oh... You don't have to be here if you don't wan-
Fenn: Who said I didn't want to?!
Me: Uh... No-one?
Crystal: Careful. She might prank you.
Me: Uh... What? Why?
Crystal: She's been talking to a certain Eevee via PM. '-_-
Me: Oh... Uh...
Chapter 10: Wake Up!
Oliver's POV
'Ow... My head hurts...'
'Ugh... I think... I hear... voices?'
"C'mon, Crys. You shouldn't just leave! What if he wakes up?! What if something happens? I can't handle this alone!"
'Is that... Josh?'
'Hmm... No matter how hard I try, I can't hear the reply...'
"Crystal..."
"Okay, okay! I'll stay here."
'Ugh... Why can't... Why can't I... Am I... Did I go blind..? I can't open my eyes!'
And then sleep once again stole me away from reality.
'Huh..? What... What happened? Did I... Did I fall asleep..?'
Cautiously, I opened my eyes.
'Wait, what? Why coudn't I earlier?'
Looking around, I realized I was in a cave. There was a ramp going up on one side, and piles of hay were scattered around the room. 'Hmm... Hay? I have heard of that using as beds, but mainly in video games... Does somebody live here?'
Just as I thought that, two... creatures walked in. One was covered in blue fur, with the rear half of them being covered in black. There was a yellow fur ring on their front wr- no, that isn't right... fore-legs..? The creature had a black tail, with a four-pointed star on the end. Their eyes were yellow, and, barely visible, there was a bit of brown in their eyes, too. As they talked, I could see they had two tiny fangs. Shinx.
The other creature, however, was covered in brown fur, with a clump of cream-colored fur around their neck. Their tail was extremely fluffy, mainly brown fur, but it turned to cream towards the tip. Their eyes were pure brown. Eevee.
"Well... We're done with that. That took a while longer than I expected."
"Yeah. I just hope he's okay."
In less than a mili-second, I realized they were talking about me!
"Wait... Oh, yeah he is."
The brown, Eevee-like creature pointed towards me. The other, Shinx-lik- no, you know what? Just Shinx and Eevee. The Shinx looked towards me, and a smile instantly crossed their face. "You're awake!" He cheered. The Eevee rolled their eyes as the Shinx bounded over to me. "Are you okay?" I nodded, realizing I'd been lying on the floor the whole time. I tried to stand up, but fell and landed on my face.
Josh's POV
I suppressed a laugh as Oliver hit the ground. Carefully, I put him up on all-fours. He looked at me. "Why did you..?" I smiled at him. "You're okay, right?" He nodded, wearily. 'He doesn't want to be like this.' I realized. "Okay, enough playing around now." I looked back at my sister. "Crystal, can you try to find some berries or something?" She nodded, and ran out. I looked back at Oliver, before getting an idea. "One second..." I walked over to my bed and dug something out from under it. I brought it over to Oliver. "Do you recognize this?" I asked, pointed at the phone. He looked suprised. "This is... This is Josh's phone! Why do you have it?" I sighed. "Well, Oliver, this going to be a long story, but, first, just, look at yourself." He tilted his head, without even realizing. "Why? And- how do you know my name?!" "I told you it would be a long story. Just... please." "Fine." I shook my head, before I heard him gasp. "Wh-What?! Why am I- What did- What did you do?!" I stepped back, nervous about this whole idea. "Relax! I didn't do squat. Just..." I sighed. "Think, Oliver. What was the last thing that you got from this phone?" He pondered it for a second, as I thanked the stars, before he answered, nervously. "I... I got a video call. From you. And then-" "You fell into a portal." He looked up at me. "How did you-" "Relax. I have good memory. At least, better than I did before." "Before what are you talking about?" "Just... settle in, Oliver. This is going to be a long story..."
Crystal's POV
"..."
I had lied.
Again.
I wasn't going to try to find berries.
I stood completely still outside, as my brother explained his story to Oliver. It was incredibly hard to hear them, but I already knew what they were talking about. Sighing, I walked up the hill. 'Josh comes up here all the time at night,' I thought as I reached the top, staring out into the pond. 'it makes sense. This really calms him down. But, why would he need to calm down? Did something happen that I don't know about?' I shook my head. 'Okay, Crystal, calm down.'
That was impossible.
I needed to know what happened.
And I needed to know what happens next.

Fenn: And by that you mean you did forget and then remembered about a week later.
Me: What? No! I'd never do that!
Fenn: Yeah right.
