Waiting for Superman
Chapter 10 My Blue Heaven
It has been nearly two weeks and Greg entered the crime lab where he works. He was wearing a cast on his hand and was bandaged on the neck and the ribs. They still hurt but are slowly healing. He went into the break room grabbing water and sat down at the table. He placed his unbroken hand to his rib cage.
Just then Finn and Nick entered the break room. They grabbed coffee and sat down at the table. They looked at Greg right there. As co-workers they need to be concerned about all their co-workers.
Greg looked at them right there but didn't want to talk at the moment. He honestly knows how they're concerned about him. But being alone in there is what he wants.
"How are you?" asked Nick
"Fine." muttered Greg
"That was quite some fall you took. You broke your hand, cracked your rib and fractured your neck. You shouldn't be back at work quite yet." responded Finn
"I only had a little less than two weeks off. I had to go back today." Greg told them
"Okay well it's great that you're better and that you're back." said Nick
"Look I see what you guys are trying to do but right now I want to be alone." said Greg
"Alright we'll leave and let you rest. Let's go get our assignments Nick." said Finn
"Yeah if you need anything Greg just call for us." said Nick
Nick and Finn left the break room leaving Greg there. He sat looking at the table. His vision starting blurring on him right there. He closed his eyes and slowly fell asleep until his head was on the table and right into a dream.
Greg was outside by himself sitting on a bench by a lake that was not a few miles away from the crime lab. He looked out at the sky. It was a nice cool night with a crisp wind. So why did he feel so crazy? So on edge? It made him feel so out of it.
Morgan came over to Greg standing there. He looked up at her. He smiled as he looked at her. He always felt safe, great and never alone. It was an affect that she had on him. She sat down beside him as she set her hand to his. It felt amazing as well as he felt warmth go through him.
Greg looked at her right there as he put his other hand on top of her hand. Morgan moved towards him as they were touching hands and arms. They were both smiling at each other.
"Morgan there's something I want to tell you." said Greg
"What's that?" wondered Morgan
"I really like you Morgan. I mean that I really, really like you." said Greg
"You like me." responded Morgan
"I do but I don't know how you feel." replied Greg
"I don't know what to say." said Morgan shaking her head
"I hope this doesn't change anything. With what our relationship and friendship is." said Greg to her
"It won't." said Morgan
Greg looked at her right there as they started inching towards each other. Finally their lips met in the middle, Greg put his hand to her neck. Morgan ended up putting her hand to his shoulder as they kept on kissing right there. They pulled away from it as they looked into each other's eyes right there just mystified in the position that they were in. They then went back in kissing again as it felt amazing to both of them. Greg moved his hand down her arm as they were still kissing right there.
"Is this a dream?" asked Greg to her as he touched her cheek
"I don't know it feels that way." responded Morgan
"It does but it also feels so real at the same time." said Greg
"We should keep this to ourselves for now." said Morgan
"Yeah I understand." muttered Greg but smiled "But I'm happy."
"So am I." replied Morgan
They couldn't help but smile at each other right there as they sat on the bench by the lake. Greg moved his hand from her cheek to her hands right there touching them gently. She continued to look at him as he kept on rubbing her hands as she felt like she was in heaven. In heaven with the most amazing guy in the world who was right beside her. A guy she has known for like two years and she thinks is her soul mate.
Morgan went closer to him as he put his arm around her as she set her head to his shoulder. They know that they don't want this moment right here to ever end. But will have to end at some point. Yet they can choose when to end it themselves. So it could go on for as long as they want.
"Greg." said Morgan looking up at him "Greg."
"Greg. Greg." said Morgan shaking his shoulder as gently as possible "Greg."
Greg was leaning on the table with his hand on his arm. His broken hand was lying straight in front of him. It helped relax his neck, arm, shoulder and his hand. It made a lot of pain almost disappear but he could still feel the pain.
"Greg." said Morgan still touching his shoulder
"Hmm." grumbled Greg who was groggy from being asleep
"Wake up Greg." responded Morgan
Greg opened his eyes and found Morgan there by his side touching his shoulder. He leaned up slowly bringing his head up with it. He's still tired and drowsy from the accident plus he's taking some pain medications.
"Hey." said Greg seeing her
"Hey, how are you?" asked Morgan
"Better. I'm just still reeling over scenes of what happened nearly two weeks ago." Greg told her
"I am too. You really scared me Greg." replied Morgan as she looked into his eyes "Plus go home you need some rest."
"No I can't." muttered Greg
"Alright but then just rest in here. I will stay here for a little while. Then I will come over every hour." said Morgan
"Thanks." said Greg
Greg looked at her as he remembered his dream quite clearly still but he couldn't tell Morgan. It involved her and him. They were kissing and got together but he knew that it would never happen to them. But it was okay to still dream about it. To still wish . . . to still hope for it to happen. He couldn't help for the crush he has on her, it's just a crush. A simple crush that he can't help can't control.
Morgan sat down right by him seeing how tired and broken he looked to her. Henry and Hodges were off on the side looking at the two of them together in the break room. They looked at each other.
"When will those two just get together?" said Henry Andrews the DNA analyst of the Nightshift
"I don't know but everyone knows of Greg's feelings for Morgan." said Hodges
"They really need to get together. Greg needs to tell Morgan of his crush his feelings to Morgan already." said Henry right there "I wish I had something that they have with each other. They're always there for each other, concerned for each other and talking/hanging out with each other."
"Touché Henry." said Hodges responding to what he explained even if they aren't best friends and don't get along; there are moments when they do get along
They went to their lab stations to go do their work as they got evidence and DNA to process to give to Finn and Nick for their crime scenes. As they were doing that Morgan couldn't help but look at Greg who was tired, washed out but was still smiling. He has some energy in him and was glad that Morgan was there by his side.
