Chapter Ten:
Tori:
"Tori!" A voice called pulling me out of my deep sleep. The sound of keys clinking and the door shutting followed.
"Huh?" I mumbled, pulling the covers over myself and Jade. 'Jade? Oh that's right'. I thought to myself as last night's events came back to me. I wasn't sure whether to be panicking or to be happy about last night.
"Tori! Are you here?" The voice called again, I finally recognized it as my mother's as I managed to wake myself up fully.
"Oh… Um… Mum, wait a second!" I called back rushing out of bed to put something on. I was just wearing my underwear so I scrambled for my night-dress and dressing gown. I took another look at Jade who was sound asleep. I rushed for the kitchen putting my thoughts about Jade aside. Mum was in the kitchen making tea. She smiled at me sweetly.
"I'm glad you're up!" Mum beamed. I looked at her as if she'd grown an extra pair of legs.
"Oh, right. Why? What are you doing here? You know I gave you that key for emergency's only" I added, sitting down. She just shrugged and handed me a cup of tea.
"Is Jade up?" She asked, ignoring my questions.
"No. Mum what is going on?" I asked.
"I am taking you dress shopping, Trina's meeting us there and Cat's taking Jade… don't worry we're going completely different places so you won't bump into each other" Mum explained. I sighed.
"I'm not even dressed yet, why didn't you tell me?" I asked, if I'm honest I was a little annoyed.
"I wanted it to be a surprise, you know it's not every day my daughter gets married" Mum said. "Why don't you get dressed and wake Jade. I'll make you both breakfast." She added.
"Okay" I said for lack of anything else to say. I made my way slowly to my room where Jade was still fast asleep. I shook her as I called her name several times hoping she wouldn't get mad at me for waking her so early. It was 9 am but that was early for Jade especially after the night we had.
"Jade get up!" I yelled, slowly her eyes opened and she smiled up at me.
"Tori" She breathed as if she was generally happy to see me.
"You need to get up!" I said, I was a bit on edge. I don't really know why but I was.
"Huh? Why?" She asked turning to look at the time on the alarm clock.
"Because my mother is crazy!" I exclaimed hoping my mum heard.
"Well, we know that. What's going on? Is she here?" Jade wandered, I nodded.
"Yeah, she's here. Making us breakfast. She's taking me wedding dress shopping and Cat's taking you" I explained.
"Oh. I won't say no to food right now" Jade said as her stomach growled, she jumped out of bed and slid on her jeans and picked up my T-shirt to put it on.
"Ready!" Jade said. She looked gorgeous, she hadn't even put any effort into her outfit yet she looked flawless. Then I let the moment take over and I kissed her short but sweet. This time I felt it really meant something.
It wasn't for the benefit of others so they'd believe this lie we'd been spinning them and it wasn't because we were drunk, like last night. It was because I'd realized something. I'd finally opened my eyes and here she was my Jade. Was she mine? I'd have to worry about that later.
"Wow Tori" Jade said, her fingers placed on her lips like she was transfixed or something. She was acting strange but maybe that meant she felt the same way I did? Maybe?
"I'll go help your mum with breakfast" Jade told me before leaving me alone with my thoughts. I rushed to the bathroom and turned the shower on. 'This is going to be a long day!' I thought to myself.
Jade:
"Good Morning, Jade. I made you some coffee" Holly greeted me as I walked through to the kitchen, she handed me a cup of coffee and I took it gratefully.
"Thanks, Holly. Do you need help with breakfast?" I offered, she waved her arms dismissively.
"No, no Jade. I'm fine thanks" She said. "So Cat's picking you up in an hour" She added, I smiled.
"Okay, would've been nice if we'd had some warning. We had a late night last night" I pointed out. Holly shrugged.
"Oh, I know but we wanted to surprise you both" Mrs Vega said, I nodded. "Now, Jade. I'm glad I've got you alone. I just want to make doubly sure that you're ready for this. That you're going to make my daughter happy" She said, sternly. It was odd she'd never talked like this to me before.
"I love your daughter, I will try my best not to hurt her" I assured her, Holly nodded.
"Good!" She said and that was it. For the first time though it didn't seem like a line in a play. It was real and I finally realized that although this started out as a sham, I was definitely in love with Tori Vega. God help me!
I hoped that Tori wasn't still treating this like it was still a sham and if last night or that kiss earlier was anything to go by then I think for once we were on the same page.
"Here she is, just in time. Breakfast is ready!" Holly beamed as Tori emerged from her room… or technically our room. This is going to take some getting used to.
A/N: So what do you think of the impending Dress Shopping? I think It will be really soon that Tori and Jade finally get together. They've admitted how they feel to themselves so I think it's soon. Anyway please review, hopefully I still have people interested in this story. Fingers crossed!
