Chapter 10: Flood

"We need to stop him Eva." Prinsessrock turned to me, "Before he finishes making that Hot Sauce solar laser thing."

I nodded in agreement and whispered, "I know, but we need to come up with a plan."

There was a pause while we thought, but before anyone could think of anything Herbert bellowed orders to Klutzy, "Klutzy! Check the pump! We need to keep this place dry"

My friends and I peeked over the pizza boxes to see Klutzy sulkily scuttle towards the large silver and blue draining pump.

"Klutzy, is the pump working? Make sure the water is draining." Herbert was still welding away so he couldn't see us or that Klutzy still hadn't got to the machine yet.

I looked at the pump and saw a large green switch raised up on a platform out of the water with too labels on it, one said 'drain' the other 'flood', I could see that the pump was set to drain.

The polar bear began muttering under his breath; then he turned round and hollered, "Wait! Get away from the pump, Klutzy. I don't want you tampering it! Knowing you you'd break it or something, I'll check it myself once I've finished this." He then began welding once more.

Klutzy seemed to sigh as he clicked something to himself.

Herbert span round and growled, "You really want that pizza? Well too bad! Not until I'm done."

Klutzy clicked once as if to say 'but.'

"Find someone else to feed you if you want pizza so much!" Herbert began to turn back to his work, but Klutzy clicked angrily at him, making him turn round and yell, "I KNOW you love pizza! But I'm BUSY!" After that he started welding again.

"Wow someone has anger-management issues." Prinsessrock whispered.

"Yeah, Klutzy just wants some pizza." Tweak replied sadly.

Suddenly I had an idea, "And that's what we're going to give him." I smiled.

"Pizza?" Lenny gave me a confused look.

"Yes, I've got a plan. If you look down there there's a large green switch that controls the water pump that's keeping this cave dry. Now this ledge is too high up for us to jump down on to the switch so instead we could get Klutzy to flood this cave for us."

"Flood the cave!" Tweak softly gasped.

"How and why would Klutzy want to do that? And secondly why would we?" Lenny quietly asked.

"Well to answer your second question, we need to stop Herbert as quickly as possible before he finishes the machine he's building. Also we're going to get Klutzy to go on the switch by throwing a pizza slice on it." I explained as my friends and the puffles listened intently.

"Now once Klutzy's set the pump to 'flood' we need to get out of here as quickly as possible, and Lenny don't forget the EPF suitcase, we don't want Herbert getting his paws on that."

"Ok Eva." Lenny nodded.

"Now we need someone to sneak over there to get closer to the ledge and throw the pizza on to the switch." I pointed towards the other side of the ledge we were on.

"Why don't you go Eva since you suggested the idea?" Lenny gave me a fake smile.

"Oh alright, you guys stand ready by the stairs to make our escape." I turned to our puffles and whispered, "You too PIXAR and Poppy."

I put my Spy-glasses on and grabbed two pizza slices; then I crawled over to the other side of the ledge and stood up. After throwing a slice on to the switch, I looked back at my friends who where now in the staircase doorway and nodded, signalling for them to make their way back up the steps.

I held my breath as I watched Klutzy jump for joy and click his pincers as he noticed the pizza slice on the switch. He quickly scuttled over to it and jumped on the switch, making the pump go from 'drain' to 'flood', as he grabbed the pizza.

Suddenly the sound of rushing water filled the cavern, Herbert turned round in shock and yelled, "KLUTZY! NOOOOOOOO! WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?! AAAAAAAHH!"

Klutzy shacked with fear and worry while Herbert's gaze drifted above him and fixed on me.

"Wait a second! What are you doing up there agent!?" he spotted the pizza in my flipper, "NO! YOU RUINED EVERYTHING! AAAAHHHHHH!" he cried as the water rose above him.

I gasped as I realized the water was rising too fast for me to get to the stairs in time, and even if I did, there wasn't enough time to run up them to safety. In seconds the water would cover the ledge and be over my head, suddenly I heard a concerned squeak as PIXAR jumped into my flippers, I didn't have time to wonder what he was doing there before the water washed over us.

I felt my world spin upside down and turn a dark shade of blue as I went head over heels in the water. I flailed my flippers and feet as shadows did the same in the distance, the spinning was getting dizzyingly faster. 'Where is PIXAR?' I panicked, 'Where am I?'

Suddenly a sharp pain hit my head; silver bubbles escaped my mouth as the blue-grey world turned to darkness.
