10 Back to Basic

Harry was typing away at his magic computer about Hogwarts and how it has many different and wonderful things. His gift from Eva-sensei was off to the side and it had been read through numerous times by Harry. When Harry leans back in his chair and that was when Hedwig decided to fly in and perch on his shoulder. There was an envelope in her peak. When Harry didn't give an indication to Hedwig's arrival she decided to drop it in front of him. The envelope wasn't parchment paper but clean white and it had the universal medical symbol stamped on the front of it.

"Thank you Lady Hedwig," Harry casually said and picks the envelope up. Inside the envelope it contained an approval letter for Negi's medical procedure. Also it even stated its success rate in averting mortal wounds in many areas of professional fields such as medical, professional sports and combat battle.

"Yo Harry, you're going to be late for class!" Orochi hissed and gently nudge his head.

After getting ready Harry was making his way down to breakfast in the Great Hall. The Great Hall was loud and with students like before he made the announcements about the Weasley's ancestors.

Harry made his way to the Slytherin table to talk to Blaise Zabini.

"Good Morning Zabini-san," Harry greets the African-British boy.

"Morning Mister Kousaka," Blaise said, "I've heard of the news, congrats!"

"Thank you Zabini-san but it wasn't me who did it, I only helped," Harry replies with a smile and glance down at the newspaper that had a report on his Master's medical break through.

"All the same Mister Kousaka, you did help even if you're only eleven years old, that's a feat in itself, not many eleven year old could boast about having a hand in medical break through," Blaise said and raise his goblet, "I toast to you."

"Thank you, again," Harry said.

While his peers were congratulating him Harry knew he was being glared at. Yes Ron Weasley was sitting at the Gryffindor table and glaring at Harry with everything he's got. Unlike Harry, Ron was sitting alone and Harry knew Cormac was a late riser and Ron was left to his own devices. Since the Weasley's skeleton came out of the closet, so to speak, Ron kept blaming Harry for everything that went wrong in his life. Even though the Weasley's were getting a huge amount of contributions from Historical Scholars who wanted to know more about Grindelwald and those historical buffs who want to know more about the notorious Rapist.

Fred and George kept reassuring Harry that their family had not received any drawbacks from the news. Far be it, their status had gone up quite a bit. Last time Harry heard, the Weasley's home was about to be renovated and Arthur Weasley had an increase in pay. The pay was much more than he was used too but it was a significant compared to the previous figure.

"Harry," someone said and Harry came face to face with Cedric.

"Good Morning Cedric," Harry answers.

"I've got to ask you something," Cedric began not sure how to go about this, "You didn't talked to my father over the ball too much did you?"

"Not that I remembered," Harry answers a little confuse by Cedric's question.

"Really?" Cedric said thoughtfully, "It's strange, he mentioned you were interested in one of his summer post in his Regulation Department and asks if you were still interested."

"No, I don't think I mentioned any interest in a summer job," Harry said. Suddenly the ground began to shake and several screams came from the hall. The giant oak door bursts open and in barge a dragon. This dragon was roughly the size of a horse. The dragon was more lean and skinny rather than the bulky fat belly kind.

One would think every occupant of the room would be screaming and yelling out of fear. Yet no one did anything but look over their shoulders and went back to eating their breakfast.

"Morning Norbert!" Harry greets and faced the dragon, which instantly rush over to him and nestle into his shoulder.

"Morning, morning!" Norbert said backing up and bounces on her legs, "Play, play!"

"Breakfast first Norbert," Harry said, "and I'll see you in the afternoon and be good to Hagrid okay."

"Good for mother!" Norbert said excitedly.

"Go," Harry said and nods towards the window.

"Norbert!" A dragon handler barge in and two more follow.

Norbert glance over her shoulder and stare at the panting Dragon Handlers. They looked like they'd sprinted a mile and all worn out. The dragon looks up towards an open window.

"No, no!" The Dragon Handlers begged at the same time when they saw the dragon's line of sight. Norbert sticks out her tongue and leaps up onto the rafters and made an escape through the window.

"Every morning," One of the Dragon Handler heave a sigh, "Thanks for nothing kid."

"Morning exercise is good for you," Harry said playfully, "and for Norbert, she needs it for her flight or fight instinct."

"We just wanted to take measurements!" The other Dragon Handler groans.

Later that day Harry was walking around the court yard and notice Hermione sitting alone with her books. This was normal for his Bookish Little Sister who loves to read any book she gets her hands on. She's still enjoying the outdoors. He slowly made his way towards Hermione but someone beat him to it.

"Mudblood thinks she's all clever!" Draco Malfoy spat and took her book. What he wore didn't really feel so intimating unless you find a purple polka dot cloak with pink under suit to be frightening then Draco Malfoy would be your worse nightmare.

"Hey give that back!" Hermione scream and tried to retrieve her book but the two fat sluggish brutes got in her way and push her down.

"Stay down! That's where you belong!" Draco said and began to rip the pages from the book he stolen.

"For someone who claims to be a true Slytherin you lack the qualities," Harry said directing to Draco's back. The blonde boy whips around with his wand out. Harry snatch Draco's wand out of his hand and toss it into the bushes. His emerald green eyes pierce the boy's soul. No matter how many times anyone had seen Harry's cold glare it would still send chills down any one's spines.

"Destroying Hogwart's property?" Harry asks coolly and summons the damaged book into his hand. While that was happening the pages that were ripped flew up and mend itself back into the binders like nothing had happened to it. "IS this how the next Lord Malfoy should act?"

"You know nothing!" Draco Malfoy finally spat out after gaining his courage back.

"And you, Young Nott and Young Crabbe? Are these the actions we should expect from a Lord?" Harry asks the two other bullies who didn't meet his eyes. "Leave."

Both boys acknowledge that they were at a disadvantage in both knowledge and magical skills. So they roughly guide the struggling Draco away from the fight they know they will never win. The blonde ponce was seething and struggling to get out of his two friends grip but being a Pureblood really shows his lack of physical strength. With a final glance from Harry's sharp gaze the would be tormentor resign to his loss.

"Thank you!" Hermione gently said and retrieve the book from Harry's hand. "How did you do that and without a wand?"

"Enchantments," Harry said and showed her his right manacles, "Anyone who could do magic could use any foci to channel it. It could be a wand, manacle, books or your body. With that you could create spells and poof magic."

"Come to think of it, I've never seen you with a wand?" Hermione said and suddenly her eyes widen. "Magister's don't use wands?"

"We do," Harry answer the girl who looked like she had millions of questions ready to burst through. "We use wands for beginners and slowly we move away from it and into Rune Magic."

"Why don't Hogwarts do that?" Hermione asks.

"Runic magic or Magister Magic, whatever you want to call it is hard to cast," Harry said, "Hmm, how to explain this, oh that's right! When you cast Lumos what do you do?"

"Flick the wand and say Lumos!" Hermione answered.

"Correct, this is called Singular Magic, with me so far?" Harry asks and Hermione nod her head. "It's called Singular Magic because it uses single word incantations. Some more difficult spells go up to five words or singular sentence. Magister, such as I, do not. To use a simplest spells we must use more than two words to cast a spell without a wand."

"Wouldn't it be easier to use a wand?" Hermione asks.

"It's true that using a wand, or foci, helps but you must understand Magister hardly relies on wands for simple spells," Harry said smiling at the inquisitive girl. "Yes, we use other foci's such as rings and other objects to cast heavier and more powerful spells."

"HARRRRRYYYYYYYY!" The Weasley twins running to Harry as they scream out his name in hysteria. "You've got to help us!"

"What can I do for you?" Harry asks seeing the twins out of breath.

"We-we need your help!" Fred exclaims while his twin was huffing and puffing on the ground next to him.

"What can I help you with?" Harry asks a little wearing about the twin.

"Well, not to stroke your ego but you're first in every subject," Fred said slowly.

"And how do you know this?" Harry asks Fred.

"The Halls of Records," Hermione softly chimes in, "They…They display records of past and current achievements and test scores."

"Miss Granger, are you worried about your grades?" George teased and laughed when Hermione sport several shades of red.

"Not the point dear brother, now! Stay focus!" Fred snapped at his brother who was in the action of getting back on his feet. "We need tutors!"

"And I assume you want me to tutor you?" Harry asks seeing both rigorously nod their heads. "I would but I'm in a schedule bind."

"PLEASE!" Both twin got down on their knees begging which was causing a scene in the courtyard.

"Fine," Harry relent and suddenly found himself engulf in a Twin hug.

"THANK YOU!" They happily shouted.

Later that week Harry was tutoring the Weasley Twin but then the members of the Feast Club joined by Hermione's insistences. At first Tonks was skeptical about it but after a couple tutoring lessons she was learning far more from Harry about History class than all the seven years she's been at Hogwarts. Harry remembered Tonks taking him to the side to help her with other classes that he gladly accepted because he knew she was aiming to be an Auror.

Professor McGonagall took immediate notice when several of her student's grades began to slowly rise. She was amazed and was really proud of her student for taking their education seriously. Gradually Harry was tutoring more than History of Magic when several questions were popping up for Harry to answer that wasn't about History of Magic. In an unexpected turn of event the classroom Harry was tutoring in became a little cramped because of students from different houses started to come to Harrys tutoring session to see if they could get their grades up. At the start of every tutoring session Harry gave an ultimatum to the people in the room. He will not do their homework or projects and if they expected him to then they should leave.

Surprisingly Daphne Greengrass and her friend Tracey Davis joined. Harry noticed that Daphne was wearing his Christmas gift, which was a sight. The enchanted metallic bird would sometime fly around the room and back to her.

After a month of tutoring twice a week in one month, everyone who came to his tutoring session had his or her grades move up a letter grade or better. Soon Professor McGonagall had to investigate this new event. She was hoping that this wasn't one of the Weasley Twin's sessions in cheating and that her students were a hard working bunch that wanted their grades to improve. To her relief it was as she thought. Professor McGonagall had snuck in the classroom in her cat form and hid in the shadows monitoring the class and amazement wasn't the wrong word, she was flabbergasted.

Most of the things he taught were above his grade level and not to mention there were seventh years in they're listening to every word he said. Harry didn't give the answer outright. No, he directed those who needed help in answering or understanding something and guided them to a book or a passage in a book that no one would think to look at. Soon Professor McGonagall was making plans for Harry. He was too smart and too knowledgeable to be kept in a grade level that he is in.

With his free time Harry he would be in the open field going through his basic Karate, Muay Thai, Jujitsu, and Chinese Kenpo katas. Orochi was off to the side staring intently at his friend. Little by little Harry would incorporate some magic and chi in his bouts of shadow fighting. Orochi noted that his friend was getting a lot better than he realized. Unlike the fight in the forest Harry wasn't doing anything flashy or amazing. This was indeed something Orochi remembered back home.

One day Harry was in semi empty courtyard going through his Taichi. Off to the side Hermione and Su were having a heavy debate on several spells. Then there were the twins, both Patil and Weasley twins were really going at it when it came to deciding what to have at the next Feast Club. Parviti being the more outspoken Patil twin was really laying it down and the Weasley twin were looking at each other wondering if they could counter her arguments. Daphne was sitting with her friend Tracey and she was staring intently at Harry at the same time creating numerous plans for our young Magister.

Suddenly a group of girls appear and they were whispering and hissing at each other as if they were debating about something. Suddenly one girl was push out of the group towards Harry's backside. As if it was done thousands of times, Harry spun around and caught the girl.

"Good morning Miss," Harry said standing the girl up. This girl looked to be in her early teens, maybe around 14 or 15 years old, she had a brunette color hair and she had brown eyes.

"Alexandra, Katie Alexandra," Katie said scorching one huge blush being so close to Harry. As if they were one, Daphne, Patil twin, Hermione and Su were right behind Harry. There sudden appearance next to Harry made the Group that came into the courtyard jumped a bit.

"Alexandra?" Harry mulled over, "Are you related to Henry Alexandra who has a seat in the Wizengamot?"

"Yes, he's my father," Katie said trying to not be freaked out by girls right behind Harry.

"How can I help you?" Harry asks seeing the girl fidgeting.

"My father wanted to thank you for your tutoring session!" Katie blurts out then she pulls out an envelope and nervously hand it to Harry who took it with kind.

"Thank you," Harry casually said looking at the envelope. He then opens it reading the letter that was given to him, "Hmm, thank you for assisting my daughter…We are in your debt…Heir of Alexandra…Majority shareholder of Broom Industry…Free broom when the first Firebolt comes out if she passes…P.S My daughter likes you please be gentle with her feelings."

"DAD!" Katie raged yet her face said otherwise. It was so red Harry could've mistaken it for a tomato. In that rage she bolt away from Harry while her friends followed.

"Hmm, my first somewhat love letter," Harry said and then Orochi slither down his arm to take a better look at the letter.

"Harry-onii-san, what are you going to do?" Hermione asks getting Harry's attention.

"I don't know," Harry truthfully answer, "It's not really a love letter nor is it a letter for asking me out but a letter of thank you."

"Well, that sucks!" Orochi hissed out.

"It's a good thing it wasn't a love letter," Daphne coldly said here eyes piercing the letter. "I will have a talk with Miss Alexandra. Good day Mister Kousaka."

"Harry, what are you doing?" Su asks finally asking the question that was plaguing her for a good month. "I know for a fact that you are skilled at your arts but why are you moving like a beginner?"

"I need to get back to reiterate myself with basics," Harry answered, "My moves are too flashy, ineffective and waste of motion."

"Is it because of what happened in the forest?" Su asks eyeing Harry's fading scars.

"Yes," Harry said a little ashamed of his defeat.

"What happened in the forest?" Su asks and everyone in the courtyard's head turn towards Harry.

"I fought a spirit like being," Harry relented and everyone who was listening didn't really understand it. Spirits are like ghost and they can't really do anything but be an annoyance, everyone who was born in England thought.

"How so?" Su's eyes sharpen.

"Orochi said something about at 'Death's door' and I presumed that meant a literal foot in the grave and another just outside," Harry said thinking back to that night.

"My Family Line has been a target of the dead and those who used the dead," Su off handedly said, "We've hired prominent Spirit Hunters. I could ask for some advice."

"That would be most appreciated," Harry said bowing in a respective manner that made the little Chinese girl beam in pride.

Later that night Harry went to the unused room he was using to tutor the group of students. Walking in the classroom he came to find that it was empty save for Tonks.

"Hey Harry!" Tonks bolt at Harry and before he could reply, "I need help in Defense!"

"Sure," Harry said looking around the empty room that was the first time in a long time. "Where's everyone?"

"I might've sent them to the wrong room and I locked and sound proofed this one," Tonks happily said.

"Tonks," Harry groan.

"PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DON'T BE MAD!" Tonks begged while desperately tried to get Harry to help, "I really need a one on one tutoring with you!"

"What do you need?" Harry asks in defeat.

"I need help with dueling, so I need to learn as many spells as possible to defeat the examiners at Auror Academy," Tonks said.

"Learning as many and new spells aren't the best way to win in a duel," Harry said right off the bat. "What are you best at?

"Charms and Potions," Tonks answer.

"That's a good combination, very powerful combination if used correctly" Harry said rubbing his chin while formulating a battle plan.

"What? NO! They're horrible!" Tonks angrily counter.

"Okay, you and I will duel and I will use Potion and charms to defeat you," Harry said and wave his hand around to banish the tables to the wall and made a clearing.

"Whatever, it's your funeral?" Tonks walking to the opposite side and watch Harry pull out a strange wand that had a star shaped object on the tip of the wand.

"Ready," Harry said after both opponent bowed.

"GO!" Tonks barked.

Tonk's immediately went on the offense casting as many spells at her opponent as she could. She knew that Harry would move and cast defensive spells to counter her onslaught. It wasn't a surprised for her when her spells didn't make contact. Harry then swish his wand upward and she felt her body lifted up. Tonks cast a counter and land back on her feet suddenly her foot slipped and she saw a patch of ice underneath her. A sudden flash blinded her and when she cast a counter she felt dizzy and everything began to spin to the point she passed out.

"What ahahappened?" Tonks woke up looking around to find Harry looming over her. "I lost didn't I?"

"Yes you did Miss Tonks," Harry and pull the older teen up onto her feet.

"What did you do? That wasn't a knock out Charm or anything I've ever seen," Tonks said.

"Nope, that was Sleeping Gas," Harry said swishing his wand around and was a mist in the shape of a sphere.

"Wait, I know what sleeping gas are but you can't just Charmed it into existence!" Tonks barked.

"You are correct Miss Tonks," Harry said and then the mist then turns into a liquid bubble. With another wave of his wand the liquid bubble separate into several different small bubbles. "You have to make it. That's where your knowledge in potions comes in. Sleeping Gas was used for medical usage to knock out patients for surgery. The use of it in the Magical world is next to nothing. There's little surgery at St. Mungos or any magical healing facility."

"But, I don't know how to make it," Tonks groaned.

"Then learn," Harry said, "Although you might need to take up chemistry."

"You mean Alchemy?" Tonks corrected.

"They're the same thing," Harry said.

"No they're not," Tonks argued.

"You're right," Harry said and then counter, "One uses magical properties to create new magical chemical compound while the other uses scientific method to create and discover new chemical compound."

"Smart ass!" Tonks whisper in defeat.

"To tell you the truth I was like you when I first learned of my magical ability," Harry began pulling two chairs for both of them to sit. "After I was given my manacles I would be at Library Island looking for anything that could help me from spells, enchantments, runic crafting and many others."

"Wait! Library Island?" Tonks asks a little skeptical.

"Yes, an islands full of books that goes down through several dungeons and caverns," Harry explained.

"Wow, that sounds like Hermione's dream right there," Tonks whistled at the sheer magnitude of the descriptions.

"That's why I haven't mentioned it to her," Harry said and Tonks gave him her trademark smirked. "Like I was saying before, I tried to learn as many spells as I could from magical arrows, summons and runic spells. With all my effort and wide array of choices in arsenal I could only do things at a bare minimal because I lacked the necessary aptitude to accomplished said spells."

"So what? You're the best at every subject at Hogwarts because of that, why?" Tonks asks.

"I wanted to protect my family from magical assault," Harry answered and then looked down in thought. "Because of me they will be the targets of magical attacks."

"Why?" Tonks asks again.

"Because of my past," Harry said offhandedly, "I was ones called Harry James Potter."

For a second Tonks's mouth hung open and her eyes darted all over his body. Then she bolt to his face and move his long hair out of the way at observing his forehead. At the center of his forehead she didn't see any lightning bolt scar that everyone knew. She then took a step back and really looks at Harry.

"No!" Tonks gasps out and saw it, the green eyes and the feature that she was all to well known a Potter would have. Their male unruly black mane and his trade mark facial feature that resemble James Potter. "But, but, the opening feast?"

"Was incorrect and correct at the same time," Harry explained, "I had the same conversation with Hermione about this. The magic that recognized me as Harry James Potter was there but it also recognized me as Harry Kousaka. Next year Harry James Potter will be redacted from the Castles attendee roster."

"So are you hiding from Deatheaters that are still around?" Tonks asks fearing something deep inside of her.

"No, I'm not hiding who I was because I was never this Potter person," Harry corrected, "I grew up with people who were abusive."

"They didn't hit you did they?" Tonks instinctively asks.

"Yes and much much more," Harry gravely answered and Tonks notice his eyes blanked out for a second before it came back to his normal cheer.

"Why didn't you go to the police or the Aurors?" Tonks shot in.

"How can I? All I knew of my life were the house and the fences that surrounds it," Harry casually countered, "If I was lucky I could go out to the playground that was only a block away, if, the key terms was if. Not to mention I never knew what a police was and what an Aurors were. But we're getting off subject here."

"No, Harry, you're the missing Potter!" Tonks said out loud, "People need to know that you're alive!"

"It doesn't matter to me one bit Tonks," Harry casually said, "In the end I am Harry Kousaka not Harry Potter."

"The Potter blood runs through your veins!" Tonks snapped.

"And I've deny any relation to the Potter name," Harry said not even getting bothered by Tonks insistence that he needs to claim the Potter name, "Tonks, tell me, how would you feel if someone out of nowhere came to you and call you a Lestrange?"

"How do you know that name?" Tonks snapped heatedly and then she realize that the name has been mentioned newspaper and knowing Harry he would come by it researching modern history, "Doesn't matter! What matter's that everyone needs to know who you are!"

"Just answer me this question Tonks, what would you say if someone came up to you and say that your parent weren't your parent and you were actually Elizabeth Lestrange sire by Bellatrix Lestrange and Rodolphus Lestrange?" Harry asks and when that question finally sinks in Tonks went dead quite.

"I-I would say that I wasn't," Tonks stammer a little.

"Like I've told Hermione, I don't really care if everyone knew my birth name," Harry said.

"But if someone knew then they would target your current family," Tonks sums up and then something clicked in her head.

"No, they can take care of themselves," Harry said groan a little when Tonks came up with the same conclusions as Hermione.

"Okay! That actually was an insightful talk!" Tonks yelled out happily.

"No!" Harry protests, "I didn't even get to the end of my topic!"

"What, that overloading yourself with magic spells will make you useless unless you mastered all of them and that I should master and excel at things I'm already good at like Charms and Potions?" Tonks said for ones knowing Harry she finally witness the all-knowing eleven year old sitting on his chair gob smacked. "What? I'm terrible at dueling, not stupid."

Harry shook his head and missed the looked that Tonks was giving him. One would say it's a look you would get from an older sibling or a cousin. She reached out her hands to but pull it back before making contact with the lost Potter. Deep down she knew that he was hiding something. Something big.

A week past and after several dueling practices with Tonks we find our young Magister in his room replying to a letter on a clean piece of white paper. Harry lift up his head and had that far away look.

"Are you well young one?" Hedwig asks.

"No, not really," Harry slowly said at his table.

"Are the tasks to difficult for you?" The white owl asks.

"I've easily created plans and yet it will not work if they won't comply," Harry answered.

"Leave that up to her," Hedwig said.

"Are you sure?" Harry asks.

"Positive, now rest young child," Hedwig said taking the letter and it magical folds itself.

"Thank you," Harry said and went to bed.
