Sorry for the late update, life likes to get in the way of things. Note, my writing muse comes and goes, I believe I will be doing shorter chapters. That way I can keep it short and feel that I am actually doing something correct and not be to hard on myself and that would mean more updates for you guys. Let me know what you think !

After having a cup of water, Kagome felt her body finally relax. The lingering smell of the two demons had finally became a distant memory. Even though she would never be able to forget how those demons had looked.

"The color is finally coming back to your face, that is a good sign Kagome." Sango's face seemed to finally relax, tension slipping from her shoulders. She couldn't recall ever seeing her friend so ill, part of her glad she did not have to witness those demons. As slayer she had come across all sorts of demons, but the ones Kagome had told her was un heard of. Hopefully they wouldn't see any more of them, for Kagome's sake at least.

After Sango knew she was better Kagome made her way back to her hut. The battle didn't take too much energy from her, it was just the aftermath that did. Her mind was rushing with thoughts of what had happen, what was to come. If those things were the start of it, what other horrors lurk just beyond the trees?

Shuffling her way in, she was met with emerald eyes looking at her. His eyes were always blazing with emotion she had yet to learn how to read. Pulling her eyes away she made her way to a small area in the main room filled with small pillows. Plopping herself down on them, she pushed out a breath of air she didn't know she stored in her lungs. Pulling her knees to her chest, small arms wrapped around them while her chin rested on top of her knees. Kagome couldn't bring herself to look up, she knew she would find Kuzzi looking at her.

"I know that was a lot to take in today Kagome. You did well on the field." Low vibrations of his voice could be felt even though they had space between them.

"I don't know if I can handle seeing that again. I, I don't know if I am strong enough for another war." Her voice was soft, almost as if she hadn't spoken at all. It was no problem for Kuzzi , his ears picked up the soft whimper of her reply.

"You are Kagome. You are strong enough, you can put an end to all of it. I will be at your side to help; all your friends will be too." His voice softer this time, his eyes never leaving her even though she refused to look up at him.

"How do you know I am strong enough?" This time her voice was louder, how could he possibly know she was strong enough to take all of this on?

"I know you are a fighter, I know you are strong, and believe me when I say this. That pure heart that beats in that chest, is what will put a stop to all the things that are coming. Have faith Kagome, have faith in yourself like we already have in you." Kuzzi's heart ached, he knew she would be able to do this. Kagome had a pure heart, she was a force to be reckoned with when crossed. He just wished she could see it herself.

"I just hope you are right." Kagome's eyes finally lifted from the floor to meet the shining emeralds. Almost taken back by the look in his eyes, she might not be able to read him yet, but she knew that look. The kindness and honesty that shined in his eyes almost took her breath away. It took everything in her too make sure her features of her face did not give her away.

"I am." His lips parted into a smile.
