CHAPTER TEN
"Addie!" Moon hissed, ushering me away from the gory sight but I stood my ground, my eyes glaring at the scene before me.
"You killed him!" I screeched, slapping away his hands.
"Who's that?" Moon asked, as if it were nothing, gesturing to the boy.
"Moon!" I growled.
"Addie, not now," his eyes flashed but I folded my arms, now scowling at him.
"Killing people does not solve problems." He looked slightly taken aback, like he didn't know what to say.
"Addison?" I heard the Chief call but my eyes stayed glued on Moon, "Addison, you weren't supposed to see that."
"I don't care," I muttered annoyed, turning my attention back to alive body before I looked at Nibs, "Where can we put him?"
"In a medical tent," Moon said, stepping out of the way. I moved to help but Slightly, put out his hand stopping me and he did it.
"You know, he was a traitor," Slightly told me as we entered the tent.
"I don't care, no one deserves to die like that. It makes you just as bad as the pirates."
"It does not!" he and Nibs shouted, glaring at me but I rolled my eyes.
"Killing people doesn't solve problems," I repeated as Tigerlily entered and I smiled at her. She returned the gesture before starting to work on the boy. I felt someone's hand on my shoulder and I jumped away, almost knocking over a table in the process.
"Why're you so jumpy?" Slightly asked exasperatedly, but I looked away, walking out of the tent, "Addie? Wait a second, Addie!"
"What?" I snapped, spinning around to be face to face with him but I took a large step back.
"What's wrong?"
"Don't worry about it," I muttered.
"I will and I am worried, Ad, tell me what's up."
"I," I sniffed, folding my arms, "I can't." A look of hurt passed through his eyes but he sighed.
"You know you can talk to me right?"
"Yeah, Slightly, I just, it's hard. I mean, it's something I never thought would happen and it almost did." His look of confusion did not help and I let out an annoyed cry, walking in the opposite direction.
"Hey, Addie," Peter started, grabbing my wrist and I glanced down at it before looking at him.
"Can you not touch me please?"
"Sorry, where're you going?" he muttered, pulling his hand away.
"Back to the tree house." He nodded, leaving and I let out a sigh, walking out of the site. I passed the waterfall and looked at my skin, still feeling the dirt laughing at me. I shivered, walking towards the cascading water; as I stepped in, thinking that maybe I was over reacting. Telling people would be stupid, so I decided to just keep it to myself. No one else needed to know. As the water ran down my body, I smiled, feeling better already but what I didn't know was that it was only blocking out the world for now and sooner or later, I'd have to face it.
