Bonnie had finally made it out of the warehouse and to a town. She stumbled around for a while, trying to stay warm in the remains of her ripped pajamas.
"Oh my! Are you okay?" Bonnie looked up to see an old woman with a small Yorkie next to her. Bonnie shook her head.
"Hold on a sec, sweetie." The woman dug into her bright red purse before bringing out an phone and dialing a numbed.
Bonnie tried to listen in on the conversation, but she was hungry and the blood loss wasn't helping.
"Okay, come on darling. We'll get you to the police station where they can find your mommy."
Dimitri had taken Rose back to her house so she could grab some things. She hadn't talked at all since the car ride back to the hotel yesterday.
"I just need some-" her voice was horse from not speaking and whatever she was going to say was cut off by her house phone going off. They stared at it for a while before she lunged at it.
"Hello?" there was some whispering on the line before Rose let out a broken sob. Dimitri took a step forward but stopped at her words.
"Is she okay? Where did you find her?"
Bonnie was fine. That had to be it. Dimitri felt relief flow through him. That sweet little girl, whose mother had given up on, was alive.
"Okay, I'll be there soon as possible."
"Wait! What?" Rose screeched. Dimitri was at her side in seconds.
"I have to bring her father? What if her father is dead? Can't you just take a test or something?"
"Okay, thank you." She sighed before hanging up the phone and grabbing her jacket.
"Well? Let's go!"
Marrie was high. Her daughter, her baby, was safe. The local police in Gilman, Montana had her. Gilman was only a thirty minute drive from Milaca. For that Marrie was thankful. In only twenty minutes she would have her daughter back.
The whole ride there Dimitri kept glaring at her. She didn't blame him though. She had pretty much told them to forget about Bonnie.
They pulled up to the police station and Marrie jumped out, excitement and relief flooding her mind.
Dimitri walked ahead and opened the door, gesturing for her to go first. She gave a polite smile before entering. But that smile quickly disappeared.
A scream replaced her smile.
