"Let her go, Dagur!"
Said crazy boy chuckled, gripping Erin's hair tightly. Katie gasped, covering her mouth in worry for her best friend.
"Erin!" She cried, before glaring at Dagur angrily. "Let her go! What the hell do you want?"
"Isn't it obvious? From my resources, I gathered that YOU have a newborn Skrill." Dagur pointed at Katie with his free hand. Katie hugged Elektra close to her chest. "And I want that Skrill."
"What'll you do to Elektra if I give you her?" Katie raised her eyebrow, eyes still trained on Dagur as he reached to his side.
"I'll train it until it's big enough for me to ride and destroy Berk." Dagur's maniacal grin widened, making Katie shudder.
"A-and if I don't?" She bravely asked, barely stumbling over her words.
"Then," A flash of silver caught the eyes of the teens as Dagur pulled out a knife and held it close to Erin's neck. "Your friend comes with me until you give me your Skrill and trust me when I say we have amazing torture ideas for her." Dagur laughed insanely, throwing his head back with mirth.
"Enough, Dagur! Just leave our friend alone, she has nothing to do with this!" Hiccup exclaimed. Katie nodded in agreement.
"For a bad guy, you're actually pretty dumb. It would have been so much easier if you just attacked me and took me away. Honestly, it's like I'd be a better villain." Katie rolled her eyes before baring her teeth at Dagur.
"Well, if you don't want to save your friend." Dagur shrugged, moving his hand that was holding the blade as he shrugged. Katie took this opportunity and reached into her given satchel, pulling out the blade she was given. Quickly, while Dagur continued talking, she tossed it to Erin, who caught it with ease.
"Erin! Now!" She screamed. Erin nodded, knowing what she meant, and lifted the rather sharp blade before ripping it through her hair. Scrambling to her feet, Erin sprinted towards the teens as the others processed what happened. Giving Elektra to Erin, Katie ran forth before socking Dagur in the jaw. "NEVER threaten my friends lives!" Katie screeched at him. Dagur rubbed his jaw before smirking at the dark-haired female. He released Erin's cut-off hair.
"Fistey girl." He chuckled when Katie reared back. "I'll see you around, Hiccup." He called to the other boy before throwing his knife at him. Hiccup didn't react quick enough and shut his eyes as the sharp blade came whirling at him. When no pain came, Hiccup opened his eyes to see the sharp point aimed at him, blood dripping from it. Some blood stained his freckled cheeks. Erin screamed at the sight.
Katie had protected Hiccup from death by putting her left hand in the way of the knife, which was jabbed right through the palm. She gasped in pain but did not cry, tears welling up in her eyes. She pulled her arm close into her chest, grunting softly.
"Oh, Thor Almightly, Katie!" Astrid screamed at her. Katie sent her a glare.
"Don't yell at me! It was a goddamn reflex to save Hiccup's life!" She yelled back before looking down at the blade in her hand. "L-let's just get back so... I can treat this." Katie flinched. Astrid stepped forward, reaching out. "What are you doing?" Katie snapped, pulling her arm away.
"I'm going to take it out, it's causing you pain." Astrid stated, giving Katie a strong, hard look.
"Don't do that! Don't you know that if you remove a knife from a wound, blood'll spill out more and it can be more fatal?" Katie informed, looking up. Dagur must've gotten away. Erin looked pale at the sight of the blood.
"I really don't want to see your blood."
"Oh, woman up, Erin. You should be used to seeing blood since we're girls. You've seen as much blood as me throughout two years and continuing. Period." Katie rolled her eyes.
"Did you seriously just make a period joke? While we have a serious matter?!" Erin sent Katie a quizzical look, who just realised she did.
"Huh. I guess I did." Katie shrugged.
"EXCUSE ME! We have a very serious matter right here!" Hiccup gestured to Katie's still wounded and still bleeding hand. Panicking, Hiccup scooped Katie into his arms(which surprised everyone) and started running back to his house. Katie stared up at the boy, blushing softly.
"My word, he's carrying me." She thought, her head spinning. "His eyes are so green... and his freckles are cute. I wonder how many there are?" Katie shook her head to clear her mind of those weird thoughts. Hiccup burst into his house.
"Dad, get me the bandages and a towel!" Hiccup yelled. Stoick noticed the injury and raced off to collect the items. He set Katie down. "Okay, Katie. When my Father comes back I'm going to remove the knife quickly before wrapping your wound in a towel and applying pressure, got it?" Katie hissed softly but nodded.
"All right, Hiccup. I trust you." She murmured when Stoick arrived, Hiccup moved Katie's arm out and placed a towel beneath it before yanking the knife out. Katie cried out. Hiccup quickly wrapped the towel around her wounded hand and applied pressure, worriedly looking at the blood rapidly staining the towel.
"Dad, unravel the bandages!" Hiccup exclaimed frantically. Stoick quickly unravelled the material and handed it to Hiccup. The brown-haired boy took it and removed the towel before wrapping the bandage tightly around her wounded hand and pressed against it. Katie flinched but put on a brave face. "You can take it, Katie!" Hiccup encouraged, smoothing out her hair with his free hand as a tear fell from her eye. Katie released a pained gasp before nodding her head shakily.
"Th-thanks." She murmured, her voice quivering. Hiccup waited a while, still pressing down on the knife wound when Katie gasped. Her cheeks flushed pink as she realised their position. Hiccup was leaning over her, his knees on either side of her hips. He was looming over her body with one hand pressing against her left hand and the other trying to sooth her. Shutting her eyes, she breathed deeply to calm herself before reaching up with her free hand. She wiped a droplet of blood from Hiccup's cheek, making him look down at her.
After those stressful events, Erin had arrived with Elektra and Katie's knife and gave them to Hiccup, who showed Katie upstairs.
"So, that bed over there is yours, Katie." He pointed to a bed in the room. Katie nodded before going to lie down on it. Elektra curled up to Toothless, crooning softly. Hiccup sat on his bed before looking at Katie, whom had shut her eyes as soon as her head hit the pillow. She sighed in content, sinking into the soft bed. Katie lazily opened an eye and looked at Hiccup, smiling gently. She rolled onto her stomach before resting her head on her right hand, looking at the boy.
"Thanks again, Hic. I owe you one, big time." Katie muttered before shutting her eyes and drifting off to sleep. Hiccup stared at her peaceful face for a few seconds before quietly whispering.
"Goodnight." He said before turning over in his bed and going to sleep. Elektra and Toothless watched the interaction, stared at each other and nodded in agreement about something.
