Jade's POV

"Hello Jamie, hello Jade." Sophia said from her desk. "And who's your friend?"

"Hey Miss Sophia, this is my friend Blake." I said and put on my best smile.

"Well then hello Blake." Blake nodded. "Can I help you all with anything?"

"Um..." Was Jamie's answer.

"Actually, yes you can Miss Sophia. I was wondering if there are any books on the Paranormal and The Watchers."

"Yes, there is. The Paranormal books should be just past that shelf over there. As for the Watchers, that should be near 'The Dictionary of Angels' so it would be at the far back corner of the library." To continue the act I added a bit more.

"See, I told you Blake. We can just look up the Paranormal here and not need to get your brother to go find it somewhere else and then tell us over the phone."

"I guess you're right." Blake said, catching onto what I was doing.

"Thanks Miss Sophia. Now come on guys, I really need to get that info on demons and possessions." We all walked towards the shelf that Sophia had pointed out.

"The Paranormal...?" Blake asked.

"We have some time and I really want some stuff about the Paranormal, which I don't plan on returning after the fire." I said as I grabbed a book about Demons. Then another that was called 'Dictionary of Paranormal'. After six minutes I had a stack of books in my arms.

"Blake, could you please go check these out for me? Tell Sophia to put it under my name." I asked.

"Sure, I'll be right back." Blake took the books from me and Blinked away.

"Okay so here are the blue prints of the library." I said as I pulled out a the paper from my bag. "We're here and Luce would be over here. This," I made a circle ove the Place Sophia's desk was. "Is where I think the fire would've started near, since Sophia's desk was charred in the book. The door Luce and Todd use to get out of the library into the hall that lead to the door they got out of. And I suspect Daniel helped them out."

"So where are we gonna be? I don't wanna be in the fire and end up in the Hospital." Jamie said just as Blake appeared at my side. I took the books from him and put them in my bag.

"Well you can do whatever your good little heart wants. I'm going to be with Todd and Luce and see if Daniel really was there and...I just wanna test my father and his bitch." We started walking to the place Luce should be.

"Jade, that's not safe." Blake said.

"Yeah, you could be killed just like Todd was." Jamie added. Soon we reached the Place Luce and Penn were now at and we stayed two shelves away from them.

"Then I'll cast a protection spell on myself. I can take care of myself. So you two can do whatever you want...Hey, I could pretend to pass out in the hall when no one's there and then after the everyone will try to find me...nah, I won't do that, I'll just go to the hospital with Luce." I whispered so Luce wouldn't hear.

"Since we can't change your mind we'll have to let you do it. You promise to be safe?" Blake said with a sigh.

"I promise. Now just wait for it." Moments later that fire alarm went off. "Quick, get out of here! I'm already risking my life, and I don't wanna risk yours."

"Bye Jade..." Jamie said and left running.

"You promised I'd see you again, and you already scared me when you passed out after the attack the other day. Be safe." Blake said and I nodded. Then Blake did something I didn't expect.

He kissed me then ran off the way Jamie had. Not having time to think about the kiss, I Blinked to where Luce and Todd would pass by.

"Anyone here?" I asked, putting my plan into action. "Blake?"

"They must have already gone out the front door! We have to turn back." I heard Todd shout. I ran to where they were.

"Why are you two here?" I asked.

"Never mind that, we need to get out of here." Todd grabbed my wrist and for a while even I didn't know where we were. I finally saw the red glow of an emergency exit sign. I pulled out of Todd's grasp and got the door opened.

I had inhailed smoke myself, having forgotten to cast a protection spell and took in the clean air. Luce, Todd, and I were coughing and soon Luce and Todd were laughing. Luce was soon crying then stopped, but her eyes continued to tear.

"Come on, we need to keep going." Luce said and Todd straightened, but we could see he was really overcome. His eyes wild and wet, his face red. Luce and I practically dragged him toward the door.

The shadows were soon apon us. Shades of gray to the deepest blacks, they were all tangled up in each other, and yet they were distinct.

Todd started banging on the walls and I sighed. Luce tried to grab his hand and since she failed, she grabbed his wrist. Todd was a white as a ghost, crouched down near the floor, almost cowering. A terrified moan escaped his lips.

"Luce? Jade?" Todd's voice shook.

"Run!" I yelled at the same time Luce did.

Todd didn't look like he could run, then it suddenly seemed like something was carrying us.

"What the hell?" Todd cried out right on cue.

Our feet skimmed the floor for just a moment. Almost to quickly, we were at the door. Our feet hit the floor again and Luce shoved herself against the door's emergency exit bar.

Luce and Todd went out the door, but I didn't and stayed just inside the doorway. I turned and saw the hallway was dark, my eyes were watering and there weren't anymore shadows.

Then what I was waiting for appeared. A jagged stroke of light, something that looked like a torso with long, broad limbs. A pulsing, almost violet light hovered over us.

I saw the shadow comming but I couldn't speak in time. The shadow body slammed us and it broke Luce and Todd's grip on each other tossed them into the air. I'd missed grabbing the emergency exit bar by a centimeter and was tossed in the air with Luce and Todd.

I managed to land in a crouch, but I felt something hit me in the head and fell forward. I didn't know what it was, but I wittnessed Todd's death and saw Luce pass out. I stayed awake the longest. I saw Daniel coming down and pretended to have pasted out. I peeked to see Daniel's wings disappearing.

I just had to laugh. Daniel was taken by surprise and looked at me as I got up.

"Well looks like the cat's out of the bag, well, not really since I already knew."

"What are you talking about?" Daniel asked.

"Don't act stupid, Grigori. I know what and who you are."

"And who are you really Jade? You seem to know more than you should."

"Me? Well I'm not normal, that's for sure. But let's just say I'm...someone that could tip the scales as much as you can my dear fallen angel." I got light headed and knew I was running out of time.

"What do you mean by that?"

"All in good time. But I'll give you some advice: This Lucinda will do things you won't expect. " I couldn't think straight anymore, but I had to get the words out. "Things will happen and-" I was cut off by a need to close my eyes so bad, it hurt like Hell. I felt my legs turn to jelly and fell down.

"And what? What will happen Jade? Tell me!" Daniel seemed to think what I had to say was important.

"You'll find out soon..." I closed my eyes, and fell into darkness. The darkness always helps. Darkness is my friend...
