I own NOTHING!... Except my OC

I'm tired..." Kotone complained as the duo was walking through route 101. "You wouldn't be if you'd pace yourself." Devon advised her as he walks steadily next to her while looking at the Pokénavi. "Yeah, yeah. How long till we reach Oldale town." She says as she wearily watches storm clouds rolling above their heads. "Umm... Not long, at this pace we'll reach Oldale in about an hour at th-." He's cut off as rain drops start to fall rapidly. They scramble for cover underneath a large tree but by the time they get there they're completely soaked. "Aw man, I'm soaked and Oldale's an hour away. This is just great." Kotone says as she rings the water out of her hair. "Well, it could have been worse..."

"THIS IS ALL YOUR FAULT!" Kotone says as she and Devon are running through the rain. "YOU JUST HAD TO JINX US!"

"HOW WAS I SUPPOSE TO KNOW A BEEDRILL'S NEST WAS ABOVE US." He says panicky as a swarm of Beedrill closely follow them. "JUST FORGET IT AND RUN!"

"NO PROBLEM THERE!" He says as they keep running in the rain.

"Okay next time... lets not use 'it could be worse'... Apparently something has a grudge against us." Devon says as he and Kotone try to regain their breath. "Agreed... How far away are we now?" She asks before plopping onto the forest floor as he looks at their Pokénavi. "We're actually close to the outskirts of the town... It's not that far maybe a twenty minute walk." He says before sitting down next to her. "Well lets rest for a bit before heading out."

"Good idea" They didn't rest for long as they hear growling nearby, startling them greatly. "EEEKKK!" Kotone stood up before scrambling up the tree that was next to her leaving Devon alone. "Hey! Your gonna just leave me here?!" He said as he watches her from below. "No, I'm right behind yah. Since your stronger than me you can take care of this." She says from the safety of the tree branch. Behind Devon the bushes started to rustle, both trainers looked at the bushes apprehensively as something stepped out. "It's... A Munchlax." Devon said breathlessly before sagging down to the floor. "Really! That's what we wer- ACK!" She was cut off as she slipped from the tree branch onto the bushes underneath her. "Hey Kotone, you okay?" Devon asks as he and the Munchlax watch her clamber off the bush, confirming that she was okay.

"So the growling we heard..."

"Was Munchlax's stomach." Devon said as they watch the Munchlax happily eat the Pokémon food they'd given him, the storm was starting to thin out as they sat under the trees. The Munchlax finished his lunch but still sniffed around them for more. "Sorry bud, but that's all we've got for now, we need to make more." Kotone says when it tried to ruffle around her backpack. "Well, the storms past." Devon said as he stood up brushing off as much grass and dirt he could, pointing out the lack of rain water before Kotone followed his example. "Oldale's not that far if we leave now well make it in time for lunch." He said not noticing the Munchlax was looking at his bag in interest. "Alright then lets g-" *click* Kotone and Devon froze when they heard the click and looked to where the Munchlax was, only to see it was missing. And in its place was a pokéball. "Uh, Devon I think that's yours."

"What?!" He looked to see one of the pokéballs on his belt was missing. "Congratulations! You caught a Munchlax!" Kotone said picking up the pokéball and placing it in his hand before dragging the still shocked trainer behind her as she made her was to Oldale. "What just happened..." He said still staring at the pokéball with wide unbelieving eyes.

"Hello, how can I help you." Nurse Joy said in greeting from behind the counter her pink hair styled in like all the other nurses along with her outfit, while her Chansey roamed around the Pokémon center helping any and everyone residing in the center. "Could you please look at our Pokémon." Kotone handed over her pokéballs and Devon handed over his having gotten over the shock of unintentionally captured a Pokémon. "Of course. I'll be happy to look them over." Nurse Joy walked to the back with the tray of pokéballs while Devon and Kotone sat on one of the various seats in the center.

"Well, this was fun." Kotone said happily while rummaging through her bag. "Sure that's one way of seeing it."

"At least you caught a Pokémon. That has to count for something."

"You mean it was rummaging for food and accidentally got itself caught."

"There are no accident." Kotone pulled out a booklet and opened it. "Okay so the closest Gym from here is..."

"Petalburg"

"Right, and the gym leader is Norman. He specializes in normal-type Pokémon." "They're susceptible to fighting-type Pokémon and are unable to attack ghost-type Pokémon."

"I knew that. But I don't need to have a fighting-type just yet I think I'll do fine with my current team." Kotone said optimistically as Nurse Joy came back with their Pokémon. "Your Pokémon are in great health."

"Thanks" They retrieved their Pokémon. "Have a good nights rest."

"Thanks, you too." They headed up to the room they we using for the night to prepare themselves for their trek to Petalburg.

"So, you planning on nicknaming your Munchlax." Kotone inquired as they walked leisurely down the road to Petalburg. "No, not really." They were walking towards the forests edge when they heard some rustling bushes. They watched apprehensively incase it was a wild Pokémon. "Huh?"

"A pokéball?" It tumbled out of the bushes and rolled near their feet. "Uh, excuse me." They looked up and noticed a young boy dangling on a tree limb by his backpack. "I could use some help."

"How'd you get stuck up there anyways." Devon asked after they helped the flustered trainer down. He wore a blue hat, shorts, T-shirt, and he had a band-aid across his cheek. "I was trying to find a Zigzagoon, but... The branch I was on broke and..."

"You got stuck." Kotone said flatly as she ruffled through her bag for another band-aid for his knee. "Yeah, that." He said embarrassed as he fiddled with the ends of his shirt. "Oh, I forgot. We didn't introduce ourselves. My names Devon."

"Kotone, were from the Sinnoh region."

"I'm Davie, I live in Petalburg."

"Your a bit far from home." Devon gave him a once over. "Especially since you look like your seven yrs. old." Davie looked at his scuffed up shoes nervously. "'Cause I am seven." He admitted before retorting hurriedly. "But I didn't mean to wander off this far...but-"

"You got lost." Kotone asked as she sat next to Devon. "Yeah" Both trainers looked at one another and came to an agreement. "Okay, lets go." They stood up and made their way to the path they'd been following. "Huh?" Davie looked lost but still scrambled after both trainers. "You said you wanted to capture a Zigzagoon, right." Devon asked while keeping his eyes on the trail. "Yeah, I did."

"Well, were going to help you catch one and take you home too." Kotone said cheerful with a spring in her step. "Really?! Your going to help me."

"Of course."

The (temporary) team of three were searching through the bushes not to far away from Petalburg for a Zigzagoon. Both trainers had their penguin Pokémon out and about to assist in finding their quarry faster. But even with the help their was no sign of the tiny raccoon Pokémon. "This is going nowhere." Kotone turned around to face the crestfallen boy. "We'll never find a Zigzagoon."

"Don't give up. Well find one you'll see." She said optimistically. "Hey Davie," Devon called across from them. "Do you know of any methods trainers use to draw out Zigzagoon."

"Uh, they use berries but I don't know what kind it was."

"It's okay." Kotone assured before pulling out her Pokédex. "Maybe I can find something in here." She researched about the tiny raccoon while both Piplup wandered around in circles trying to assist their trainers. They stumbled upon a hole in the ground and decided to investigate. Bluestar looked apprehensive while Piplup tried to peer inside. "Piplup!" Only to be sprayed with dirt. He tried to wipe it off while Bluestar tried to lure out the Pokémon. When that didn't work Piplup decided to reach inside to pull the Pokémon out. "P-PIPLUP!" He pulled his flipper out and a Rattatat was clamped onto him. It held on as Piplup ran around trying to dislodge the normal-type. Bluestar followed frying to calm his fellow penguin Pokémon.

"Okay, so the Pokédex says Zigzagoon like these berries. So I collected a ton of them." Kotone set the pile of blue berries down in front of their small group. "Now, all we have to do is wait and they'll come over for the berries."

"This is still taking forever." Davie complained as they'd been waiting for a good hour waiting for a Zigzagoon to appear. "Just be patient, they'll come." Devon advised. Though he should have been watching his Piplup closely, as it eyed the berries hungrily. His stomach growled gaining Bluestar's attention from where he was crafting a second flower crown the first was taking residence atop of his head. He noticed the second penguin Pokémon was eying the berries hungrily and dropped the flower crown in favor of trying to halt the other Pokémon's thoughts. "Pip Piplup." He tried to sway its attention but it didn't work as Piplup rushed for the berries with a frantic Bluestar following behind. "Huh? Piplup, no!" Devon tried to call back his Pokémon but it didn't work. Piplup was inches away from the berries "Pip!" When something slammed into him making him sail into a nearby bush. "Zagoon" The tiny raccoon Pokémon stood over the pile of berries while laughing at the penguin Pokémon as he tried to remove himself from the bush, with Bluestar helping him. When he'd finished laughing he proceeded to happily munch on the berries in front of him. "Oh! It's a Zigzagoon!" Davie looked ecstatic by the Pokémon's entrance while the other two watched their Pokémon. "Yeah, so it is." Kotone turned to watch the Zigzagoon eat the berries as Piplup finally rightened himself. When he saw the Zigzagoon was eating the berries he rushed past Bluestar towards the eating Zigzagoon while powering up a Peck attack. The Zigzagoon saw him coming and used Sand attack blinding the penguin Pokémon before tripping him when he got close. Devon watched his Piplup being taken down by the tiny raccoon Pokémon in despair. "Oh, Piplup."

"Well, he tried." Kotone said optimistic. "Yeah, Piplup!" He called to his Pokémon as he cleared his eyes of the dirt. "Use Bubblebeam!" Piplup spun around quickly and shot a steam of azure bubble at the unsuspecting Zigzagoon. They hit their mark, pushing back the tiny raccoon. When the attack halted he shook out his damp fur before being engulfed in a blazing glow and zooming towards the penguin Pokémon. Before the Piplup could move the mass of cream and brown fur slammed into him knocking him into a tree. He looked disoriented from the hit but swiftly recovered. "Piplup, use Tackle attack." He rushed at the tiny raccoon and rammed into its side sending it flying into the air. "Now use Peck!" As it started to descend his beak grew in length and shined a brilliant white. When the Zigzagoon was close he leapt into the air. "Pip!" But wasn't prepared for the Zigzagoon to use his head as a springboard to leap away. When he'd been used as a springboard the force caused him to fall to the floor and his attack caused his beak to get stuck in the ground. While he struggled to release himself he was vulnerable to attack. The Zigzagoon opened his mouth and released thousands of stars, all aimed at the unsuspecting Piplup. "Piplup, get out of there!" Devon called out but it was futile as soon as he was free the Swift hit its mark and sent him reeling. Zigzagoon went in with another Quick attack, Devon saw this an called out to his downed Pokémon while the others watched on nervously. "Piplup!" He turned and saw the tiny raccoon was speeding towards him. When the Zigzagoon was about to ram into the penguin Pokémon he was taken by surprise when he was hit by multiple azure bubbles. "Zagoon!" It hit the floor unable to go on. "Devon! Capture it quick!" Kotone instructed when Devon wasn't responding fast enough. "Oh, right!" He scrambled for a pokéball. He enlarged one and quickly tossed the ball at the downed Pokémon. The tiny raccoon was engulfed by a red light and sucked into the red and white ball. The trio and two Pokémon waited with batted breath as they watched the pokéball rock back and forth. *click* They looked at the pokéball as it rested peacefully on the ground. "Alright!" Davie's ecstatic cry snapped them out of their trance. He rushed a head of the trainers and picked up the pokéball. "Thank you!" Then rushed back to Devon engulfing him in a hug. "Your welcome." He ruffled the boys blond hair as his hat had fallen onto the ground. Kotone picked up his hat and placed it back on his head as he gave her a hug too, before gazing at the pokéball with bright blue eyes. "C'mon lets go to the Pokémon center and have Nurse Joy heal him." Devon picked up his Piplup as Kotone did the same before they followed the young boy to Petalburg.
