A/N Okay so I always tell my readers that I have no idea where the story is going just to start writing and get a rush of inspiration. There is a twist in this chapter that could make or break Dom and Evies new-found common ground. I have also decided that Han shall not die! That is all. Any who I hope you guys liked the last chapter and enjoy this one.

Chapter 10

Dom took Evie to a private beach that he used to go to when he wanted to be alone. He grabbed the same blanket that they laid out on in Costa Rica. They sat together in comfortable silence for a while before Evie was compelled to break it.

" I'm sorry. " She said softly.

Dom looked at her, confused. " Why do you say that? " He asked turning himself so he was looking at her fully.

Evie looked down at the blanket and said " I know I scared you guys by not talking and worried you all with my behaviour. I just needed time to come to terms with what happened. And I guess I was just hurt because I was sent back into that environment even though I begged Brian not to. " She said sadly.

Dom knew it killed her to talk about it and what she was saying was killing him. He just sat there and supported her silently. " I waited and waited for Bri to come get me and the more I waited the worse things got. He- he wanted to beat the fight out of me. He wanted me to forget what the outside world looked like. When you took me from that house it was the first time I had seen the outside that whole year. " She said letting the tears flow.

She was in Doms arms in seconds. " Shhh baby please don't say anymore. I- I don't think I can hear it without going rite back to Boston to kill him. " He whispered shakily. " Do you want to leave? " He asked still holding her.

She shook her head. " No please lets just stay here a while longer. " She said pushing him down so she could lay with her head on his chest. She wasn't ready to face Brian and everything at home.

After a few hours of laying on the beach they headed to the garage. When they pulled up there was a beautiful Mustang parked next to Brians import. Dom had a stupid smile on his face as he got out. Evie opened the door not sure she was ready to go in yet. Dom decided for her as he walked to her side and held his hand out. She looked at him with uncertainty before taking it.

They walked into the customer area where chairs, car mags, and a pop machine were. Behind the register there was a cool filled with coronas and water.

Grabbing a corona for himself and a water for Evie he again took her hand and led her to the back. The first person Evie saw was Romes crazy ass, who grinned real big and swept her up into a huge hug.

" Baby sis! It's so good to see you. " He said swinging her around. Evie had a big ass smile on her face and when he sat her down she kissed his cheek.

Dom grabbed her back from Rome before he could bombard her with questions. He looked after them bewilderment etched all over his face. They had obviously added onto the garage it was way smaller the last time Evie had been there. All the equipment was updated and there was three new computers lined up against the far wall. and a room was added off to the side as a nursery for Jack.

Dom led her to the nursery where he figured everyone was. He was rite. Mia was holding Jack while Brian had his arm around her talking to Tej and a asian man Evie had never met before. He had shiny black hair that was almost shoulder length and he was eating something called proxy.

Everyone turned and looked at the two of them when they entered. Brian removed his arm from around Mia and walked up to his baby sister. Evie looked him in the eyes before launching herself into his arms. The look of surprise on his face made Dom laugh.

" Hey sis feeling better? " He asked pulling her back and looking her over. It looked like she had gotten some sun and there was a sparkle in her eyes that he hadn't seen in so long.

" Yes Bri I'm feeling a lot better. " She said once again shocking him. He just grinned and pulled her back into another hug.

" You have no idea how good it is to hear your voice Eves. " He said holding her tight.

" Yeah yeah stop hogging her Brian! " Came Mias voice from behind them. Brian let her go and took Jack from her so she could hug Evie tight.

" Oh my god Evie I've missed being able to talk to you. I'm so glad you're feeling better! " She said almost crying.

" Okay okay baby steps sis let her go before she runs. " Dom joked pulling her from his sisters grip. " Evie I'd like you to meet Han Lui another member of our family. " He said and Han held out his hand for her to shake.

" It's nice to meet you Evie Brian has told me all about you. " He said and Evie eyed him for a minute as if deciding something. Dom hoped she wouldn't freeze up since he was a new person that she wasn't used to. She took his hand hesitantly and shook it.

Dom didn't want to put too much stress on her so he cleared his throat. " We just came to see if you guys were almost finished here. We're bbq'ing for dinner. "

He said taking Evies hand. Brian noticed that they were standing closer together and she was more relaxed than she'd been all month. He smiled.

" Yeah we'll be done here in an hour or so, but first Eves there is something I want to show you. " He said walking out of the nursery motioning for her to follow.

Evie didn't let go of Doms hand so he had no choice but to follow along. Brian had went all the way to the far corner where there was a car under a cover. Dom let go of my hand to stand behind her with his hands resting on her hips. Brian pulled the cover off and Evie gasped in surprise, There in all her glory, was Evies beloved Camaro. She walked rite up to the car and hugged the hood. Everyone in the shop laughed their asses off at her open display of affection to her car.

" I love a woman who can appreciate some muscle. " Dom said not being able to hide the lust in his voice.

Evie looked from Dom to Brian and back and held out her hand. " Keys please. Oh and I need clothes so paper, plastic whatever will be appreciated. " She said with that attitude they had all been missing. Dom reached in his pocket, got his black card, the keys, and then threw her keys. She caught them then she snatched up the card and was in her car in three seconds flat. Everyone moved out of her way and she blew that popsicle stand.

Evie had been gone for a while and everyone was back at the Torreto house for the BBQ. Brian would have been worried and out looking for her, but she was making progress and he didn't want to argue with her in fear that she would go mute again. He finally had the family he always wanted and was glad his sister was a part of it. He hated his parents for what they did to her, but he hated himself more. If it wasn't for him sending her back it wouldn't have happened at all.

And then there was this whole Dom thing. Brian isn't stupid he sees the way he looks at her. Which confuses the hell out of him since Elena was on her way to the BBQ and knows nothing of Evie. He knew Mia inviting her was a mistake and who knows if Elena and Dom were still a " thing " anyways. He'd just have to wait and see.

Dom was manning the grill while Mia was in the kitchen making her specialty- salad. Jack was outside in his race car walker, not that he was old enough to actually make it move yet but he loves it. Brian was happy that Jack would have a solid family that would always love and be there for him. Being a father made him look at life in a whole new light. It was an adventure he was truly enjoying.

He, Rome, Tej, and Han were all sitting at the picnic table playing spades and sipping coronas.

" So Brian, your sister is beautiful. Is she single? " Han asked trying to be subtle. Han knew a good woman when he saw her. Gisele was the love of his life, but he knew she wouldn't want him to be lonely forever. All he really wanted was some fun.

Brian glared at him. " My sister just went through some major shit and she doesn't need to be your rebound Han. I'm not trying to be an asshole, but you need to find someone else to fuck around with. " He said trying really hard not to reach across the table and punch his friend.

Han nodded like a scolded child but said nothing else about it. He looked towards the drive way and couldn't believe it. " Hey is that Hobbs and Elena? "

Spending a few hours shopping for new clothes was just what I needed. I had just pulled up to the house, parking in the street and got out smelling the delicious BBQ in the air. Some guy in a huge black truck had just took the last parking space in the drive way. Douche. A huge caramel skinned man got out of the driver seat and a slim mocha colored woman got out of the passenger side. Must be more " family ".

I got some of my bags and got out walking up the drive way just a few feet behind them and as we came towards the back I could see everyone. Little Jack was so cute in his race car walker happy as a clam. The huge hulk looking man went over to the guys at the table and started shaking hands. And the next thing I can see the skank that came with him was throwing herself into Doms arms giving him a sloppy kiss. What the fuck?! My face got way too hot and all I could do was ignore all the stares and go straight into the kitchen.

Mia went to say something, but I just walked rite passed her and went straight into the living room, up the stairs, and into my room slamming the door. Who was that girl? Why was she all over Dom? Here I was thinking- no you know what? Fuck it. It just reminded me of the promise that I made myself in Costa Rica. Dom may have gotten me out of my funk, but he will never get that close to me. I'm gonna change into the clothes she bought with Doms money.

I couldn't help the evil grin that spread across my face. Now I didn't feel so bad about spending so much of his money. I decided to wear my new floral print romper with white Yves Saint Laurent sandals. I took my hair out of the ponytail I had rocked for the past year and went to look in my mirror. I hadn't had anything drastic done to my hair n so long. It was now almost to my butt. UGGHH I'd do something about that later. I just brushed it out and let it hang in waves.

I was ready to give the boys something to look at. After the year I had I deserved to have a little fun. I walked back downstairs ready to face everyone. Mia looked up when I walking into the kitchen and smiled.

" Look at you! You must have really put a dent in Doms account huh? " She asked making me give her my evil grin which made her laugh.

" I feel better than I have in a long time. Is dinner almost done? " I asked taking a cucumber slice and eating it.

" Yeah I think they're just waiting for us. Come on. " She said grabbing the salad and ushering me outside.

Everyone was sitting at the table talking and laughing. The skank was sitting on Doms lap and I did my best version of the " it doesn't faze me " look and went to sit next to Rome. He smiled at me and put his arm around my shoulder. I could feel Doms eyes on me but I kept my attention on the food. I reached for the corona that was sat in front of me and Dom cleared his throat.

" Sorry Evie since you reached first you have to bless the meal. " I looked up at him in confusion. In the O'conner house the food was never blessed.

I cleared my throat. " I don't really know how to do this but here goes. Ummm God? Thank you for this meal and for my new family that I guess I have you to thank for. " I said, my voice quivering a little. " I- I don't know why I went through all the things that happened but- I- I can't do this I'm sorry. " I said getting up and running back to the house.
