A/N: Yosh! I'm back. I know I took quite a while to update, but cut me some slack at least. I had school to deal with and I had about six other stories posted as well. But, now, I only have three incomplete stories (including this one) due to putting some stories on hold and finishing the other ones up in order to increase my updates and so forth. Also, I have recently graduated high school, which means that I will have more time for my stories. I do start college tomorrow, but I should be able to manage frequent updates; this story is my top priority compared to my other ones. Also, I have went back and edited the previous chapters and chapters 1,2, and 3 underwent some major changes to make things more plausible. A reviewer mentioned that Raditz changed too quickly and I agree, so that's part of the reason why this fic went through some editing. This chapter isn't as long as I like it to be, but I felt like I took long enough to update. Power levels will be on the next chapter I think.
Credit for all power levels you see goes to Super Vegetarott
Next chapter will be longer; Read and Review!
As soon as the awaited answer left Raditz lips, the sound of footsteps heading towards them resulted in everyone's head snapping in the direction of the source, no one needing confirmation from anyone else to know who it was.
Vegeta.
Said person stood with his arms hanging loosely at his side, his smirk spreading at the sight of the others whom were visibly tense. He was standing upright, as if he was perfectly fine, displaying no indicators of being injured nor harmed. Besides the battered appearance of his attire and the battle wounds that he sported, one wouldn't be able to tell that he was engaged in an intense, physical dispute nearly half an hour ago. Finally, after what seemed like an eternity, the flame-haired Saiyan spoke, "Did you honestly think that I'd be disposed of so easily?"
Not oblivious to the fact that the ones in front of him were either stunned, shocked, drowned with fear, or were probably accepting their sealed fate, the flame-haired Saiyan continued, shaking his head as he lifted his arms, ignoring the sudden pain and soreness he felt throbbing within his limbs. "I can't believe that I've been reduced to a state such as this." His smirk began to fade, rapidly easing into a scowl as he continued, "by a mere Third class at that." He clenched his fists, before adding on, his smirk reappearing, "but I suppose I should inform you that none of you will be leaving here alive."
Krillin swallowed heavily at Vegeta's statement, eying Goku out of the corner of his eyes, an emotion he was all too familiar with beginning to rise: Fear. He knew all too well that he was in no position to doubt Vegeta's statement. His strength was inferior to Vegeta's. And the only one among them who had stood a chance was now on the ground, looking as if he was merely seconds away from losing consciousness. Besides that, it was painstakingly evident that Goku wouldn't be able to do much - even if he was able to move - he was in critical condition, heavily paying the price from his earlier battle (which, sadly, was still active). His eyes slid over to Gohan, whom was standing by Goku, now in a battle stance, as his gaze stayed locked on the smirking flame-haired Saiyan. Whether or not Gohan felt as tough as he appeared, he wouldn't know. He, however, knew he didn't. Krillin's eyes then slid over towards Raditz, who had his arms crossed, defiantly staring back at Vegeta. If he was frightened, which he didn't appear to be so, then it wasn't evident - his eyes and posture betrayed absolutely nothing that could possibly be coursing within him.
"That isn't for you to call, Vegeta." Raditz replied, his gaze still locked with Vegeta's. By the way things appeared, it looked as if he'd have to go up against Vegeta once more. He was still hurt, and he didn't have much ki left, a dangerous combination, but he'd have to deal with it if he wanted to leave in one piece. His black eyes shifted down to his brother, who didn't exactly appear as if he'd be of any use during the exchange that would be taking place. It seemed as if majority of the fighting would fall on their hands - as he had already predicted beforehand.
"Is that what you believe, Raditz?" Vegeta's words jolted him of his thoughts, his attention more focused on the flame-haired Saiyans words than the Saiyan himself. Something about his tone roused an uneasy feeling within him. It was taunting, which wasn't abnormal, but it was a different type of a taunting. Similar to the 'it's over' type of thing. As many missions he was assigned with Vegeta, he should recognize or be familiar with Vegeta's behavior and how he spoke when placed in different scenario's - and he did.
Vegeta had something up his sleeve.
And usually what tended to happen was that Vegeta was even more arrogant than before, sputtering complete nonsense consisted of insults and self-rants. Raditz eyebrow twitched slightly as he quickly tried to figure out whatever it was Vegeta had in mind. Deciding to at least buy some more time while formulating a strategy to defeat Vegeta, he responded, his tone void of anything that could possibly betray what he was truly feeling, "Yes, it is. Is the truth so hard for you to accept?"
Vegeta's lip twitched, a scowl threatening to form at any moment. "If there is something you are trying to imply Raditz, I recommend you come out with it."
Raditz smirked, "Impatient as ever, Vegeta."
Vegeta said nothing in response, studying Raditz intently in silence, before suddenly smirking, realizing what it was that his former comrade was attempting to do. "I see," he simply stated. "You're trying to stall, and come up with some sort of plan?" Vegeta's smirk widened when he saw Raditz's eyes narrow ever-so-slightly, letting him know that he stuck a nerve. He scoffed, before continuing, "Any plan you were to come up would do you no good, for your end is here, along with rest of this backwater planet!"
With that said, Vegeta formed an bright, white - almost blinding - orb in his right palm before suddenly launching it up into the atmosphere. Raditz, immediately realizing what Vegeta had just done, mentally cursed, scowling in the process. Damn it, Raditz thought to his self, there was no mistaking it. That was the Power Ball technique. The very technique used by Saiyans for transformations purposes. If Vegeta transformed, then there would be no way that they could defeat him. Vegeta already outclassed him in power, and if Vegeta was to go into his Ape form, that gap would be even wider and even if he did transform, that would prove futile; Vegeta would still outclass him in strength.
Raditz closed his eyes, trying his best to restrain the frustration that was proceeding to rise all the while mentally urging his self to come up with some sort of plan. If he could just think of one thing that could work in order to counter against Vegeta, then things wouldn't appear so one-sided. But unfortunately for him, things didn't seem to be working in his favor right about now.
A loud roar rumbled nearby, ceasing his thoughts and indicating that his time to formulate a plan had now passed. Frustrated, he jerked his head towards his nephew and Krillin, "Any one of you got a plan?!"
Both shook their heads 'no', resulting in Raditz releasing a growl and mumbling a few obscenities, before shifting his attention back on the currently transformed Vegeta. And although Krillin could have sworn he heard the word 'Pathetic' thrown in there as well, he wasn't going to complain, seeing as they had other matters that needed to be taken care of - huge matters.
"This is the end of the line for you." A voice called out, shifting everyone's attention onto the source. The voice greatly resembled Vegeta's, though this one was much deeper. "Die!" he called out loudly as he lifted his foot up, positioning it over Raditz, Goku, Gohan, and Krillin, and then moments later, slamming his foot down on top of them.
The quartet dodged barely, just in the nick of time; Gohan having scoop his father up, seeing as the spiky-haired warrior wouldn't be capable of moving much independently due to the injuries he sustained, and the others jumping out of the way. Vegeta, wasting little time, swung his fist in their direction, indulging in yet another attempt to crush his opponents, though this time succeeding, sending Raditz flying towards a nearby cliff. Raditz grunted, his face contorted into an expression of pain. "Damnit," he muttered, mentally berating himself for not moving fast enough, attempting to move his body before he got hit once more.
He was already injured enough as it is, and he couldn't afford to sustain anymore damage - lest he wanted to end up like Kakarot, which he had no intentions of doing. With that said, he -
Raditz eyes widened as he felt himself being lifted up involuntarily, along with the feeling of excruciating pain following moments later once he came to the conclusion that he was being squeezed to death, courtesy of Vegeta, whom had his fingers wrapped tightly around him. "B-Bastard." he manage to choke out, before releasing an agony-filled scream, the pressure of Vegeta's grip tightening seemingly every second. The pain being so immense that he felt as if he'd burst any minute now.
Vegeta shook with laughter, thoroughly amused. "How does it feel, Raditz?" He questioned mockingly. "How does it feel to know that I hold your very life in my hands? How does it feel to know that you will always be nothing more than a mere weakling compared to me?"
Vegeta mercilessly squeezed harder, undeterred by the series of loud cracks he heard. The sound of Raditz screams like music to his ears. This was what happened to those who betrayed their own kind. This was what happened to those who dared to take the easy way out. Did he honestly believe that he could get away with what he did? Did he honestly believe that he wouldn't suffer the consequences for his intolerable and less than honorable actions? "This is the end of line for you - "
Vegeta's eyes narrowed before he suddenly jumped, avoiding the attack that would have severed his tail and reverted him back to his base state. That was the very attack that ceased Nappa's existence, and unlike that oaf, he had the common sense to get out of the away. But if they were in that much of an hurry to die, then he'd be more than happy to grant them that wish. He smirked, harshly slinging Raditz into the ground like a rag doll as he turned around to face what he mentally dubbed as his new prey. Not giving it another thought, he sent a kick towards the trio, Gohan scooping up his father once more.
Gohan sparred a worried glance in the direction Vegeta had sent Raditz flying just moments ago, hoping that his uncle was okay. He didn't know if his uncle would say the same, but he had honestly grown use to having his uncle around and was quite attached to him. Even if he refused to think of himself as a 'good guy' now, whom, according to his uncle, was doing nothing more than being in control of his life for once and doing things the way he wanted to do things, he could honestly tell that he had at least somewhat changed over the near two-year period they spent training.
"All of you will die like the pests you are!" Vegeta exclaimed loudly, making his way over towards Gohan and Goku, each step he took making the ground shake. As soon as he finished them off, he could return back to the matter at hand; crushing Raditz and shattering every bone in his pathetic body. He wasn't finished with that pathetic excuse of a Saiyan yet. He had to teach him a lesson. A lesson that he'd be certain not to forget, but it wasn't as if he'd allow him to live afterwards. No. That didn't align with what what he had in mind. He'd make him suffer and plead for mercy. And once he felt like Raditz got what he deserved, then he'd kill him off.
In the most painful way possible.
