Chapter 10: Round 2!

Umbrella ran down the halls, breathing heavily as she was chased by Regina and her horrid hybrid circus animals. Everyone split up, though not really by choice as much as from confusion and chaos. The young yellow clad girl gripped Hungern as she found herself lost in a long maze of hallways. Looking in all directions, swallowing as she starts stepping back, only to bump into one of the things chasing her!

A large Gorilla looking creature with the head of a walrus grunted and beat the ground, swinging its fist at Umbrella who ducked and rolled around it, smacking it on the head with Hungern, the Gorilla walrus letting out a loud grunt as it turned around, and tried to pierce the small yellow clad girl with its tusks, she jumping out of the way and opening Hungern, it swallowing it, she slammed the umbrella against the wall a few times and then opened it, out came flying the weird animal crashing against the floor.

She gripped Hungern and started to back away, looking for the rest of her allys. However, she heard a slithering and turned around and jumped right out of the way of a large python like creature with the head, fins, and tail of a shark. "Oh come on! I'm just looking for my sister!" She shouted, stomping her foot as Regina stepped out into the open, petting her Bear-Cheetah.

"Indeed child. You meerly were at the wrong place at the wrong time" She reached in and drew her silver sword. "But I'm afraid you already involved yourself, and must be taken care of" She pointed her sword as the bear-cheetah charged at the small girl.

Umbrella was getting fed up with all this, and pushed Hungern against the ground and used it to pole volt herself above the weird bear thing, and landing on its back. She gripped the creature as it charged through the halls, slamming against the wall trying to get her off, she gripped Hungern around its neck to better keep her balance as she started to push and pull it around, slamming it against the wall. Eventually it started to stand on its hind legs and fall back to try and remove her, she jumped off and lifted Hungern, slamming it down against its head, knocking it out.

She panted, running out of energy as she heard a slithering noise, the sharkaconda was back! Slithering fast as it quickly apporached Umbrella! She gripped Hungern and stood her ground, the thing jumped up and opened its mouth, ready to bite the small girl.

But then, jumping into the hall, was a large burly man, wearing a heart on his belt, the body builder of the Circus, Hubrecht. He grabbed the Shark snake and flipped it, pinning it against the ground. After pinning and taking out the creature, he stood up and flexed. "Hah! No beast is match for me! Regina! You should keep better watch over creatures! They play too rough! Scare this small child!" He said kneeling down and patting her on the shoulder. "Are you okay Miss?"

Umbrella blinked, not sure what to think of this man, as Regina shouted. "Hertz! Go back to your room! This girl is an intruder and is a threat!" The women said, but the large man meerly laughed.

"This girl threat?" He said the Strongman asked with a laugh, "You must be pulling leg!" He said slapping his knee. "You are good kidder Reg! Come here!" He grabbed Regina by the neck and started flexing, giving her a noogie as she tried to get away, he not knowing his strength and actually hurting her.

Regina had enough of this and kicked at the strongman and gripped her sword, coughing a bit and looking up. "You were always a liability you naïve fool! Now pay!" She charged and swung her blade, but Umbrella blocked it with Hungern. Hubrecht stood confused as Umbrella swung and slammed her living weapon against Regina's face, knocking her away and then swinging at her again.

Regina got up, and glared. With her animals down, she couldn't fight nearly as well. So started ran for it, Umbrella far too tired to run after her, and the Strongman had no idea what happened, scratching his head. "So...what had happened?"

Umbrella panted, and fell to the ground, starting to break down in tears, rubbing her eyes as she had enough of this day! She just wanted everything to end! Hubrecht kneeled down for the crying child. "W-what is wrong? Did Regina scare you? Did I scare you? Can I help with anything?" The man asked, still trying to piece together what is going on, but doing his best to aid a crying child. The man never having realized that he was working for the mob this whole time.

Umbrella sobbed some more. "Today is the Anniversary of my moms death... I don't know much about her, and never met her... But every year on this day my sister takes me out for ice cream. This happened every year, and every year my sister tells me a little about our mother. I was looking forward to it all month... but then... The skullgirl thing happened. My sister went off with her army and left me alone with Adam...and... I thought I saw mom. But then Adam pulled me away before I could aproach her and see..." She curled up in a ball. "And then... When I go talk to my sis she just tells me that she has unfinished business, and that she wants to settle something! But she promised me last week that today we'd go out!... I'm sorry...this is stupid isn't it." She said as she looked up at the man, who was listening this entire time.

Hubercht simply smiled. "No no! I fully understand the need to keep promises! It sounds like sister is busy women though. You should forgive her." He said nodding. "But if it makes you feel better. I have ice-cream. Would you like some?"

Umbrella shook her head. "Its...not the same" She said, feeling a little better. "You seem nice...why are you working for the bad guys?"

Hubercht let out a gasp. "We not bad guys! We do plenty good for community!"

"But...The Medici's are bad mafia people. Who go out and make buisnesses pay them large sums of money." Umbrella replied. "And one of them tried to kill me"

The strongman shook his head. "No! Impossible! I was with many of them last week when we went to a local petstore! Regina went in and offered them protection! That's good right?..." He said slowly doubting himself. "I mean...she broke something, but it was accident!" he said. "And...we did go to bank! And I stood by door making sure... They got withdraw and then we had parade with police..." The world was starting to dawn on him.

Umbrella looked up. "would..you like some ice cream?" She asked the man who just realized he was working for bad people.

He gave a slight nod and they started walking towards the kitchen... Forgetting that elsewhere, the others were fighting for their lives.
