Well, I'm back. Some shit was going down in my life so this wasn't a main priority. Sorry. Please don't kill me. But I'm having a lovely flow for writing right now so I'll probably get the next few chapters done and just publish them every week. Enjoy, and don't forget to review.
Disclaimer:I am still a broke sixteen year old girl. This means I do not own Alex Rider. Goddammit.
Jaimy sighed. Turning to Lauren he said, "If he won't agree to come along I can't force him. We'll have to leave him behind. I'm very sorry."
Lauren nodded. "I understand. He should be able to take care of himself while I'm gone. It's only ten minutes, right?"
"You've got it. Come on, we're already running late," Jaimy replied. He grabbed her hand and pulled her along, walking quickly towards the train station. Turning back, he called over to James, "Good luck!" Before disappearing into the crowd with Lauren.
Jaimy halted to a stop just after the had entered the train station. Lauren stumbled a second, not expecting the stop. She raised an eyebrow, turning towards him, and cracked up. He quickly followed. They were both laughing so hard they started tearing up.
"T-that was HILARIOUS!" Jaimy choked out. Lauren nodded. She couldn't speak because she had laughter hiccups. She mimed drinking with her hands and waved them around for a bit before Jaimy caught on. He reached into his backpack and pulled out a water bottle, passing it to her. Lauren passed it back after she'd drank enough for the hiccups to stop.
Once both of them had sobered up, Lauren asked, "So, what's the next stage in your master plan?"
"When you go back, be hurriedly fixing your clothes and hair. Also, when he asks completely deny I was ever there. Completely. You went to the loo, got it?" Jaimy smirked, waiting for her to answer.
"Totally," Lauren grinned. This should be awesome! Thanks for the help. I can't wait to see the look on his face."Jaimy reached out to shake her hand.
"It was nice doing business with you miss," and with that he walked off. Now, to get on the train. This should be simple, now that he had money.
He went and paid for his ticked, before slipping off to wait for the train. It departed at precisely nine thirty a.m, so he had about fifteen minutes to wait. He sat down on a bench against the wall and began to people watch. Or at least search for hidden weapons. It had been seven and a half minutes and all he had seen was one pistol. Just one. Jaimy switched to looking for people who might be agents. Who knows, this could be more fun. Even though he was technically 'undercover' he let himself switch back into Alex.
The same boy, with his darty eyes and tense muscles, ready to jump up and attack any threat. The overly stressed boy with mountains of homework from missing too much school. Alex realised then how much he enjoyed being his cover, Jaimy. It was a much more fun, carefree existence. Not innocent, but...naive. Very naive. That was the only word he could use. It wasn't perfect, but there can't be a word for everything, can there. There's even a word for that. Lexical gaps. This was one of the many.
A noise blew through the towards the tunnel, Alex saw that his train was there. Time to assume his false persona. Lovely. He got up and onto the train, showing his ticket as he passed through the door. Jaimy sat down in the first seat he could find. He sat his backpack on the floor at his feet and rifled through it, until he found a mirror. Even though Jaimy knew how vain he looked, he held it up to his face. Jaimy used his fingers to smooth out and perfect his bangs before applying the same process to his clothes. Once Jaimy was fairly certain he looked presentable, he put the mirror away sighed.
"Excuse me, is anyone sitting there?" A young woman of about seventeen asked, gesturing towards the empty seat next to him. She was wearing black skinny jeans covered in rips and holes. Her shirt was for some band Jaimy didn't know, called Asking Alexandria. "There aren't any other seats available, you see."
He smiled up at her and replied, "No, the seat's open. Feel free to sit there."
"Thanks," she smiled. "I've been looking all over. By the way, my names Bella, what's yours?"
"Jaimy," he replied, smiling back. He looked her over, saving her image to memory. She had multi-layered hair, which she had died a bright blue colour. She had it styled straight, with a deep side-part. Bella also had snake bites, piercing on both sides of her bottom lip. She wore plugs as well. They looked to be about two mm. She had bright blue eyes and had ringed them with dark liquid liner. Her skin was naturally very pale. Bella's features were delicate and soft while not being too much so. She looked to be about one hundred and seventy cm, a full three cm taller than he was."It's very nice to meet you."
Little did Jaimy know that as he looked her over, Bella was doing the same thing to him. Taking in his Blond hair and soft hazelnut eyes. Appreciating his quite well muscled body, and his clothing taste. Jaimy was, after all, fairly attractive.
"Same here." They talked for a bit longer, before eventually both of them popped in their earbuds to blast music. After a while Jaimy noticed that it sounded like someone was dying of a coughing fit. Looking up, he saw a woman staring them down. Bella had noticed too. So, she very politely asked "What do you want?'
The woman took a moment to look affronted before replying. "I want you to turn down your music. I can hear every word coming out of those headphones and I simply can't stand it any longer! Turn that racket off right now or I'll complain to the authorities." Before Bella could answer in a rude fashion, Jaimy answered for them.
"I'm very sorry ma'am, I'll turn my iPod off this second. You will too, won't you Bella?" As he said this he stared right into Bella's eyes, clearly saying that she had better turn her music off. She grudgingly complied. But as the lady walked away, Bella flipped her off.
