Hey everyone! Sorry that I haven't updated in months, but work experience can do a lot to ya. Now for this chapter, I give you all a summary of the next few episodes since these episodes weren't an interest to me.

Chapter 9 - A Spirit Summoned
It has been two months since Roxas dueled Zane and lots of things have happened between the slifers. First off, Chumley's father came in for a visit and wanted his son back to carry on with the family business, which was making and selling hot sauce. A deal was made with a duel that if Chumley won against his father, he stays at Duel Academy, but gets expelled if his father won. According to Professor Banner, Chumley's father was the State Champion for three years, with a deck based on his business involving flipping tables and dizzy tigers. Even though Chumley lost the duel, his father let him stay due to the amount of friends he had gained.
Then the day of the tag duel happened and it seemed the competition was unfair. Jaden and Syrus' opponents were the best tag duelists around, they were the Paradox Brothers, the same tag duelists from Duelist Kingdom that faced Yami Yugi and Joey Wheeler. With the help of Syrus' cards, both Jaden and Syrus beat the Paradox brothers and were safe from being expelled... for now.
Then one day, Bastion had the chance to be promoted to obelisk blue by dueling Chazz. The slifers learned from hanging out with Bastion that he was smart when it comes to science or equations. When the duel happened, he had multiple decks with him and used one which involved the equation for water, like Hydrogedons and won the duel, but declined the offer Crowler had made, Bastion was more interested in his future duel with Jaden.
Then sometime later, the slifers noticed there was an absence of a certain raven-haired obelisk since the duel against Bastion. They decided to skip class and go look for him, only to find an escaped lab animal, specifically a monkey. According to some scientists who were chasing the monkey, he was a lab animal that was doing experiments involving dueling and he kidnapped Jasmine, one of Alexis' friends. Jaden dueled the monkey, Wheeler. Jaden won and helped him go back to the wild with Professor Banner's help. The Professor informed the group that Chazz has left the island.
Though it was rough the first time, Gleam Thief was getting used to Roxas and his friends. Scrap King helped him out as he was the first to be around him, he still had a rough attitude, but a good heart. Roxas had taken a break from being Aero, but he wanted to show his mobian side again, because he liked the time he was helping Jaden beat that Shadow Duelist. It made him feel like a hero, even though he was one back at Mobius, but it still felt special to show his heroic side to others. But he knew that this form would only be for emergencies and that soon, Jaden will know the truth as he soon needs to show his deck, revealing himself.
It was a snowy evening and most of the students were away for the holidays, the winter break to be precised. The only students that stayed were the four slifers and the teachers. Roxas had no parents to see and Syrus asked his parents to stay with Jaden, they happily accepted and were spending the holidays in the red dorm. Syrus and Jaden were having a duel against each other and Roxas, Chumley and Professor Banner watched it happen. Roxas smiled at the two of them, he was happy to see Syrus improving each day since the tag duel.
After the fourth turn, everyone heard the door smash and the holograms of the duel disappeared as they all saw what smashed through the door. It was an obelisk blue student that had reading glasses and he seemed that, he looked like he saw a ghost. "H-help me". Roxas went closer to the student and tried to comfort him. "Please tell us what happened, slowly and clearly". The student was still scared, but he calmed down and tried to answer Roxas' question. "I'm Torrey and me and my friends were investigating duel spirit summoning, but we accidently summoned Jinzo's spirit and he's taken my friends!"
"Sorry but, who's Jinzo?" Gleam Thief appeared beside Roxas and looked at the student, concerned. 'Jinzo is a duel monster that has 2400 attack points and negates all traps. Its main attacks all involve electricity and he can be nasty if your deck has mostly traps'. Gleam Thief pounded his fists and added, "He doesn't seem tough to me". Roxas smiled at Gleam, then asked the student, "Where did you last see Jinzo?"
But that answer never came as the lights went off and all everyone saw was black. After what seemed like many minutes, the door was opened and everyone was surprised at what they saw. The student was unconcious, but was carried by something that was almost transparent and they all know what this 'something' is. "Let Torrey go, Jinzo!" Jaden ran towards Jinzo, but Jinzo ran first towards the forest and everyone made chase. They all followed his path, until they stopped at a small area that had electrical boxes and arials.
"Where are we?" Roxas looked around him, confused as he had never been to this place before. Professor Banner answered Roxas' question. "This is the Power Plant that powers the whole island". Roxas nodded as he understood and added himself, "A perfect place for a monster like Jinzo to be in... but where's Torrey?" Everyone looked around them for the obelisk blue student, but it was hard to see since it was night. But they found him, unconcious and Roxas ran to him to see if he was okay, but an electric bolt stopped his path as Jinzo appeared.
Jaden shouted out, "No more hiding, Jinzo! Give back Torrey!" Jinzo didn't move, but answered, "I'm afraid not. You see in order to resurrect myself, I need a human soul and this student will do nicely..." Roxas narrowed his eyes, disgusted. "How about this Jinzo? I duel you and if I lose, you get my soul and if I win, go back to where you came from and never come back!" Five face down cards appeared behind Jinzo, which Roxas can tell that Jinzo agreed to his terms. Roxas got his duel disk ready. "Guess you're going through this then? DUEL!"

Jinzo's Turn
One of the five cards turned and showed an effect monster. "I summon Malice Doll of Demise!"
Malice Doll of Demise - ATK 1600 DEF 1700 LV4 Fiend / Effect - DARK
During your next Standby Phase after this card was sent from the field to the Graveyard by the effect of a Continuous Spell Card: Special Summon this card from the Graveyard.
Roxas was about to take a step back from the appearance of the monster, but listened carefully to what Jinzo had planned. "Next I activate Ectoplasmer! This makes us sacrifice monsters and deal half its attack points as damage!"
Ectoplasmer - Continuous Spell
Once per turn, during each player's End Phase: The turn player must Tribute 1 face-up monster, and if they do, inflict damage to their opponent equal to half the original ATK of the Tributed monster.
"This might be a problem..." The monster zapped and turned into a white coloured energy. "Now I use Ectoplasmer to sacrifice my monster. Now go!" The energy hit Roxas' body and it seemed to be painful, as his eyes closed from the pain and his teeth were clenched. 'So this is what a shadow duel feels like... no wonder Jaden had a hard time...' "It's your turn now".

Roxas' Turn
"You'll regret that Jinzo! I draw!" Roxas' hand contained Wave, Sonic Dash Collect, Rouge, Space Colony ARK, Eggman Plan 1 and the card he drew was Chaos Emeralds Collide. 'Well, this isn't good, I guess I'll see what I can do next turn...' "I summon Wave!"
Wave - ATK 1000 DEF 1200 LV3 Winged-Beast / Tuner - WIND
This card is treated as a Mobian-Type Monster. When this card is Normal or Special Summoned to the field, this card gains 2 Speed Counters. Once per turn, if your opponent activates a Spell or Trap Card, you can remove 1 Speed Counter on this card to negate and destroy that card.
"Next I activate Sonic Dash Collect!"
Sonic Dash Collect - Normal Spell
Remove 1 Speed Counter from a "Mobian" monster. Draw two cards.
"I remove Wave's Speed Counter, so that I can draw two cards". Wave nodded as Roxas drew his two cards, they were Eggman Plan 2 and Eggman Plan 6. 'More traps? Oh well...' "Battle! Wave, attack Jinzo directly!" Wave dropped a bomb near Jinzo and it exploded two seconds later. "I'll throw down three face downs and finish you off with Ectoplasmer! I sacrifice Wave to use it and call it there".
Jinzo (Opponent) - 2500
Jinzo's Turn
"Now you will suffer some pain! My Malice Doll comes back due to its effect, then I summon the Emissary of the Afterlife!"
Emissary of the Afterlife - ATK 1600 DEF 600 LV4 Fiend / Effect - DARK
When this card is sent from the field to the Graveyard: Each player adds 1 Level 3 or lower Normal Monster from their Deck to their hand.
"Now go Emissary, attack directly!" The fiend was about to attack, but Roxas declared, "Hold it there Jinzo! I activate my trap, Eggman Plan 1!"
Eggman Plan 1 - Normal Trap
Activate only when an opponent's monster declares an attack. Negate the attack.
"This negates your attack!" The Emissary stayed down and Jinzo got a bit angry seeing this. "I still have one monster left! Malice Doll attack!" The Malice Doll attacked by throwing its axe, but it seemed to be weaker. "I activate my other trap, Eggman Plan 2!"
Eggman Plan 2 - Normal Trap
Activate only when an opponent's monster declares an attack. The attacking monster loses 500 ATK.
"I may get attacked but your Doll loses 500 attack points". The axe still hits Roxas, but it became less unbearable. "Now I finish my turn, by activating Ectoplasmer by sacrificing my Malice Doll". The Malice Doll disappears and the Ectoplasmer chain began.
Roxas - 1300
Roxas' Turn
As the life points went down, half of Roxas' body became transparent like Jinzo's spirit. "Roxas, are you alright?" Roxas looked back to see Jaden concerned. "I'm fine guys, I'm used to this". Roxas looked back at Jinzo. 'I've got to stop that Ectoplasmer, otherwise this duel is over!' "I draw!" The card Roxas drew was the field spell, Mobius. 'Now this is a game changer...' Roxas looked at the card with a smile. "Time for a change of scenery! I activate the field spell, Mobius!" The field changed to the chemical plant where Sonic and Tails had their first adventures.
Mobius - Field Spell
Increase the ATK and DEF of all 'Mobian' monsters by 300 points. Once per turn, you can give 1 "Mobian" monster on your side of the field Speed Counters for the amount of "Mobian" monsters on your side of the field.
"Now I summon out Rouge! Time for the bat girl to shine!"
Rouge - ATK 1300 DEF 1800 LV4 Winged-Beast / Effect - WIND
This card is treated as a Mobian-Type Monster. When this card is Normal or Special Summoned to the field, this card gains 1 Speed Counter. Once per turn, by removing 1 Speed Counter, you can take 1 Spell or Trap card in either player's Graveyard and add that card to your hand.
"Now Mobius' effect activates, first off all of my mobian monsters gain 300 attack and defense points and the other effect, is that I can give a mobian more speed counters for the amount of mobian monsters I have on the field. So in other words, I'm gonna give Rouge one more speed counter!"
Rouge ATK 1600 SC2
"Next I activate her special effect! By removing one of her counters, I can add a spell or trap card from either player's graveyard and add it to my hand. So the card I'm choosing is Sonic Dash Collect!" Jaden smiled as he knew what was going to happen. "I see now! Roxas is trying to pull off a good card, but what is he looking for?" Roxas smiled a little at Jaden's understatement and continued. "I'll use Sonic Dash Collect again on Rouge to draw two new cards!" Roxas drew two new cards which were Sonic and Mobian Hero Calling. 'Yes! Time to finish this!' "Jinzo, you're about to go back where you came from! I activate the Chaos Emeralds Collide!"
Chaos Emeralds Collide - Normal Spell
This card becomes a Fusion Material Monster. By sending this card and Fusion Material Monster(s) you can Special Summon a Fusion Monster from your Extra Deck.
"It's time for some fusion action! I fuse the chaos emeralds with Sonic from my hand!" The seven chaos emeralds came together and in a flash of yellow, a golden glowing hedgehog replaced the light.
Super Sonic - ATK 3800 DEF 3000 LV10 Fusion / Beast / Effect - LIGHT
"Sonic" + "Chaos Emeralds Collide"
You can Tribute this card to negate the activation of an opponent's Spell Card, Trap Card or Effect Monster's effect and destroy all cards your opponent controls. Once per turn, you can negate the effect(s) of 1 face-up monster your opponent controls until the End Phase. Also, if the negated effect can be activated, you can activate it once as this card's effect. During the End Phase, return this card from the field to the Extra Deck, and Special Summon 1 "Sonic" from your Graveyard.
"It's time to end this! Rouge, attack Emissary of the Afterlife!" Rouge looked a little puzzled at Roxas, but she continued the attack otherwise. "Why would he do that? It would be a tie and they'll both get destroyed". Roxas smiled at Syrus who said that and answered, "That's the plan". Both Rouge and the Emissary got blown to bits and the only card on Jinzo's side was the Ectoplasmer card. "Super Sonic, attack Jinzo with Chaos Strike!" The super form of Sonic used his chaos powers on Jinzo's chest. "Now I end this duel, by using Ectoplasmer! I sacrifice Super Sonic to finish you!" The last white spirit energy attacked Jinzo's chest and it gave a white explosion, until Jinzo was no longer there.
Roxas - 1300
Jinzo (Opponent) - 0
Roxas' body was no longer transparent and he breathed a sigh of relief. The three slifers and Professor Banner ran up to him with Jaden asking, "You okay Roxas?" Roxas nodded. "Yeah, but it was a close duel. Now let's take Torrey to a safe place..." As they were about to pick up Torrey, two other obelisk blue students appeared beside him, but unconcious. "Those are Torrey's friends! I guess their souls are back". Roxas smiled at the Professor with Syrus saying, "Let's get them back to their dorm". As they were picking them up, Roxas added, "And after this, have a good night sleep. I'm beat!" After what seemed like hours, the slifers and Professor Banner went back to the red dorm and got some well-earned rest.
