The Doctor grabbed up AL and they left the building and went down the stairs. They didn't pay attention to Rose Tyler who was now following them.

"Wait, you can't just go swaining off!" Rose tried to stop them and The Doctor scoffed.

"Yes we can. Here we are, swaining off. Good bye." The Doctor muttered still holding AL by the arm who was now pouting.

"But that arm was moving! It tried to kill me!" Rose offered again still following them.

"Ten out of ten for observation…it tried to kill all three of us…" The Doctor muttered while motioning to himself and AL.

"You can't walk away, that's not fair." Rose kept going and AL shot her a confused look. "You have to tell me what's going on."

"No we don't." The Doctor chided and AL shrugged at Rose apologetically.

"All right, then. I'll go to the police. I'll tell everyone. You said, if I did that, I'd get people killed. So, your choice. Tell me, or I'll start talking." Rose sounded like she was a person who didn't want to back down. AL had to admit she liked that in a life form.

"Is that supposed to sound tough?" The Doctor smirked at Rose making AL frown.

"Sort of." Rose looked worried at the smirk.

"Doesn't work." The Doctor huffed in laughter making AL roll her eyes.

"Who are you?" Rose asked The Doctor.

"Told you. The Doctor."

"Yeah, but Doctor what?" Rose asked again not letting up.

"Just the Doctor."

"The Doctor." Rose looked unimpressed with him now.

"Hello!" The Doctor grinned again but still moved with AL in his hand.

"Is she your daughter?" Rose looked at AL who frowned in confusion.

"Do we like anything alike?" The Doctor snipped back and Rose shook her head. "Well there you go…"

"You can tell me. I've seen enough. Are you the police?" Rose was back to asking questions.

"No, we were was just passing through. We are both a long way from home." The Doctor kept moving, which forced AL to keep moving with him.

"But what have I done wrong? How comes those plastic things keep coming after me?" Rose whined and this time The Doctor rolled his eyes.

"Oh, suddenly the entire world revolves around you. You were just an accident. You got in the way, that's all." He informed her and Rose scoffed.

"It tried to kill me." Rose glared at the man in front of her.

"It was after me, not you. Last night, in the shop, I was there, you blundered in, almost ruined the whole thing. This morning, I was tracking it down, it was tracking me down. The only reason it fixed on you is 'cos you've met me." The Doctor raved slightly.

"So what you're saying is, the entire world revolves around you?" Rose looked a bit mad now.

"Sort of, yeah." The Doctor gave a one armed shrug because he was still holding onto AL's arm.

"You're full of it!" Rose snapped at him and AL started to nod her head. Rose looked at AL and smirked slightly.

"Sort of, yeah." Even The Doctor couldn't argue that one.

"So, all this plastic stuff. Who else knows about it?" Rose asked again.

"Nobody." The Doctor answered a question finally.

"So, what, you two are on your own?" Rose asked with a huff of disbelief. She saw the sad expression on AL's face and felt bad for saying something.

"Well, who else is there?!" The Doctor scoffed in laughter. "I mean, you lot, all you do is eat chips, go to bed, and watch telly, while all the time, underneath you, there's a war going on!" He raved some more making AL look at him.

"Okay. Start from the beginning. I mean, if we're going to go with the living plastic, and I don't even believe that, but if we do, how did you kill it?" Rose asked and AL gave her a surprised expression.

"The thing controlling it projects life into the arm. I cut off the signal, dead." The Doctor motioned with the arm.

"So that's radio control?" Rose asked trying to follow along.

"Thought control. Are you all right?" The Doctor suddenly stopped walking and AL tripped and landed on the ground. The Doctor looked down at her sheepishly. "Are 'you' all right?" He asked worriedly and AL sent him a scathing look.

"So, who's controlling it, then? And I am fine also." Rose asked then answered his question. She had laughed when AL had given The Doctor that dirty look.

"It's a long story." The Doctor admitted and reached down helping AL up once more.

"But what's it all for? I mean, shop window dummies, what's that about? Is someone trying to take over Britain's shops?" Rose asked and AL shot her a perplexed expression.

"No." The Doctor admitted while AL shook her head at Rose. "It's not a price war. They want to overthrow the human race and destroy you. Do you believe me?"

"No." Rose admitted and The Doctor smirked.

"But you're still listening." The Doctor stated simply making AL grin in victory.

"Really, though, Doctor. Tell me, who are you guys are." Rose tried one last time.

"Do you know like we were saying about the Earth revolving? It's like when you were a kid. The first time they tell you the world's turning and you just can't quite believe it because everything looks like it's standing still. I can feel it. The turn of the Earth. The ground beneath our feet is spinning at a thousand miles an hour, and the entire planet is hurtling round the sun at sixty seven thousand miles an hour, and I can feel it. We're falling through space, you and me, clinging to the skin of this tiny little world, and if we let go. That's who we are. Now, forget us, Rose Tyler. Go home." The Doctor and AL went into the TARDIS and left.

A few hours later The Doctor found a larger signal and followed it. He told AL to stay in the TARDIS this time. AL grinned when he was out of sight and went to the controls.

(Oh Little Cub…not again…)

AL ignored her friend and put in the coordinates for 1948.

(Richard Lazarus was there last time, but it is impossible for him to be there at the same time twice in a row. You are not thinking about how humans can change in the course of one year, let alone TWO years.)

*I don't know 'why' I like seeing him TARDIS. He just makes me feel weird, but happy weird.*

(Oh dear…) The TARDIS muttered worriedly when AL said this. (This will end even worse than what we originally thought.)

AL made sure to remember her notepad this time and waited outside of the usual spot. She felt a touch to her shoulder and turned around. She was surprised to see a taller version of Richard standing there. He had a perplexed look on his face.

"I find myself having to ask: Are you a ghost?" Richard asked curiously. AL frowned and shook her head.

"I have never seen you anywhere in London, and nobody's ever heard of you. Yet, everyday 23rd of September here you are…"

AL shrugged and wrote down.

"I am real."

"I was starting to think you were just a figment of my imagination." Richard admitted quietly.

"Well you can have this…in case you ever think otherwise." AL handed the piece of paper that had the word 'I am real' on it. Richard smiled and kissed her cheek after he folded the paper up and put it into his pocket.

Richard's voice had deepened within the last year and AL was curious as to why his body had changed slightly. AL walked into the TARDIS.

*You were correct he did change in appearance…*

(Little Cub, humans age. They grow up, get older and then they die. All lives will eventually end. You must not see him anymore…it will only hurt you both.)

They were back in the alley in 2005 just in time to because The Doctor slammed the doors open and shoved Rose in.

"There's that different feeling again." The Doctor frowned.

(Once again my sensors show nothing…except a human in my midst.)

"Right…" The Doctor looked at Rose who was gazing at everything inside the TARDIS in surprise.

AL saw Rose was there and hooked her legs on a coil rafter and dropped upside down in front of Rose. Rose squeaked in fear seeing AL just pop up.

*Hi Rose!*

Rose let out a squeal of fear and fell backwards landing on her ass with a groan of pain. Rose had also seen AL's red and black eyes. The Doctor rolled his eyes at his younger friend.

"Probably should've eased into that one kid." The Doctor scolded AL who pouted.

*Whoops?* AL sighed in defeat.
