For what felt like hours, though it was only about ten minutes, there had been total silence in the car. He'd helped her with her things, and there had been some small talk while he was starting the car, but since then, nothing. Barbara couldn't imagine anything more awkward than this.

Resting her elbow on the door, she stared out of the window, while they drove through various streets on their way to the main highway. She didn't imagine their music tastes would be at all similar, so suggesting music was a bad idea. Exhaling slightly, the blonde let her eyes shut for a moment, her chin resting in her hand.

Jon glanced over towards her, seeing how bored she looked. He couldn't help but feel the same to be honest. He'd been trying to be nice when he offered her a ride to the next town, but he didn't think it through. Really, he should have known that going on a long drive with her, with everything they'd dealt with, wasn't the best of ideas. But at the same time, he didn't want to be in the same car as Colby, and he was sure she didn't either. At least this way, they wouldn't need to explain why Colby had a black eye or was left on the side of the road, which were both plausible options with Jon in the car.

He began wondering how Joe was managing with the two-tone ass hole. He was a lot calmer, probably the most logical thinking of the three, so Jon didn't imagine there'd be any issues. Hell, if Joe could manage to calm Jon down, he could certainly handle a couple of hours in a car with Colby.

"What?" Barbara's voice broke Jon's trail of thought, and he glanced back over towards her, his expression conveying confusion.

"Huh?" He grunted, before turning his attention back onto the road ahead. Well, he didn't want to kill them both, he was trying to get along with her.

"You were mumbling something." She said, resting her hands in her lap again, with an eyebrow raised in his direction.

"Oh, uh... sorry." He mumbled, again, which seemed to be a habit of his.

"What were you thinking about?" The blonde asked, turning her body slightly in the chair, and bringing one of her feet up to rest on the seat, so her knee was upright in front of her.

"Nothing that would interest you, Blondie." He said, clearing his through slightly.

"Oh come on. It's not like we have anything else to talk about. Enlighten me. What does the great Dean Ambrose think about?" She asked again, looking in his direction with a small smirk. Maybe this drive wouldn't be too terrible. She just needed to get him to talk.

He looked over towards her, his eyebrows crinkling together with curiosity. Suddenly she was interested in what he was thinking. Not too many people really gave a damn what he was thinking, but then again that was probably because they were worried he was plotting mass arson or how get away with murder.

"Okay, if you insist." He grumbled, shifting in his seat. He was a little bit uncomfortable with all of this, but then again, he didn't really have a choice, and if he didn't talk to her, she'd get upset. Then Joe would be down his throat again, and as much as he loved the guy, he couldn't deal with another big brother lecture.

"I was wondering how Joe is coping with Colby's whining in their car." He said, looking over to see her reaction. She didn't seem too phased with the mention of his name, so that was a good sign.

"Probably better than either of us would." She said with a shrug. "If I got stuck with him, I'd either make him ride in the trunk, or leave him on the side of the road."

Jon chuckled at that, surprising both himself and Barbara. "I like the way you think." He admitted, without thinking first.

His words caused a small smile, and she glanced down at her hands, before uttering; "I think that's the first time I've made you laugh."

He lightly shrugged one shoulder, as he pulled onto the main highway. "I'd probably laugh more if you were funnier."

At that her instincts kicked in, and she let her hand smack his shoulder, in a jokey manner. "I'm funny, you jackass."

The two shared a laugh, and Barbara shook her head a little bit, before running her hand through her blonde tresses. It seemed they'd passed the awkward silence and were actually able to hold a conversation. It was about time.

The drive continued for another hour, and the two carried on talking. The conversation flowed so easily, which really surprised the pair of them. If you'd told Jon before any of this had happened that he'd end up in a car, having a decent conversation with Kelly Kelly and enjoying himself, he would have asked how long you'd been off your meds. This wasn't something anyone would expect, and yet, it was happening and neither of them could have possibly expected to enjoy one another's company this much.

Soon enough, Jon pulled in at a local gas station, and climbed out of the car. To fill the time, Barbara pulled her phone out of her pocket and scrolled through some of the notifications she'd been ignoring. The usual text messages from some of the girls at work, somehow they'd found out she was carpooling with Jon. So, she figured there'd be even more backlash when she got to work, and she just couldn't be bothered with it anymore. She'd finally been enjoying herself, laughing and smiling, even if it was in the most unexpected situation. Now, all the real stuff was coming back to her and she didn't want to deal with it.

Opening up a blank text message, she began typing. "Look, I don't know how you seem to know every detail of my life, but kindly mind your own. What I do is my own business. I don't care who you spend your time with, so don't judge me for who I spend mine with. You can pass that along to the rest of the girls, too." After typing that out, she selected Nikki's name in her contacts and pressed send.

Exhaling heavily, she closed her eyes again, and rested her head back against the seat. This wasn't what she needed right now. With all of these mixed up feelings she already had about Jon, as well as the clashing with Colby over something she found pathetic, she already had enough on her plate.

Jumping slightly when the door opened, she looked up to see Jon climbing back into the car. "Here, I didn't know what you like so there's Mountain Dew and Red Bull." He said, offering the cans to her.

Taking the Red Bull, she mumbled a thank you and opened the can.

"Jeez, what's up with you?" He asked, as he shut the door behind him and started the car up again.

"Nothing, just more girl drama." She said, taking a sip of the energy drink, and slumping down in her seat.

"Please tell me you're not sulking over that surgically enhanced floozy." He scoffed, as he began driving once more. "You know she's not worth that much. The only reason she's so interested in your life is because her own ain't all that great."

Oddly, Jon's little speech was starting to make her feel better. He had a point.

"On the outside she's got everything. Wastes her money ridiculous shoes and that weird fuckin' hair thing. You know where you buy more hair? What the fuck is that?" Barbara laughed for a moment. She honestly forgot how out of touch people said he was. She knew he didn't like the internet much, or electronics in general, but she didn't realise it was this amusing.

"My point is... she's got nothing going for her that matters. So, she's sticking her nose into your business. She's jealous."

"Jealous? Of what exactly? What do I have that she doesn't?" Barbara asked, rolling her eyes a little. In the Diva world, Nikki Bella had everything.

"A brain for one. Real tits for another." He said, shooting her a smirk. A knowing smirk. One that made her blush slightly. She didn't realize he'd been so... thorough. "But, more importantly... you know that there are things more important than shoes and... and hair."

Honestly, she was surprised at how genuine he seemed. But at the same time, she wasn't surprised at all.

The rest of the journey wasn't bad at all. Barbara ignored her phone, choosing to turn it on silent, rather than be reminded of this whole Nikki Bella drama. Instead, she enjoyed the ride to the hotel with Jon. He was a funny guy, and she found herself really enjoying his company.

Eventually, they arrived at the hotel, and Jon was quick to check in.

"Joe's asking for me, I'll see you later." He said, with a small nod, before disappearing up the stairs.

Carrying on with her own check-in, Barbara smiled politely at the lady behind the desk, before accepting her key and making her way to her floor. It would be nice to have some alone time, just lie down for a few minutes before she needed to worry about the rest of her schedule. Sure, she had the rest of the night to herself, she didn't have anything planned, but she knew she needed to get everything in order before she fell asleep.

Arriving outside of her door, the blonde scanned the key through and walked in. To her surprise, she wasn't alone. Sitting on the bed nearest the window was none other than Nikki herself. There was a smile on her face as Barbara walked inside.

"They must have given me the wrong key, sorry." She said, turning to exit the room again, but Nikki stopped her.

"No, I told them we were sharing a room. I figured we could catch up." The brunette spoke with a smile, but Barbara saw right through it. This was all about Jon, and the details Nikki was so desperate to hear about.

"Why would you do that without asking me?" Barbara was clearly annoyed, as she hadn't wanted a room-mate for the next two nights. "Why aren't you rooming with Brie?"

"I don't spend all my time with my sister, Barbs." She laughed, almost oblivious to Barbara's frustration as she assisted in bringing the blonde's luggage inside and shutting the door. "Besides, I didn't think you'd mind. We are friends after all, and we've shared a room in the past." Nikki shrugged, walking towards her luggage and sorting out her outfits for the next two days.

"Well, yeah we are friends. But I really wanted some alone time. Get away from everything, you know?"

"I figured you could vent to me. I heard Colby's pretty worked up about you and Jon. Turns out he has this major crush on you." A giggle escaped Nikki's mouth and the blonde didn't care too much for it at all. "I think you could do with some girl talk."

"Girl talk?" Barbara scoffed. "You mean you want me to tell you more about what happened with Jon and I? You want to know the gossip."

"Well, what's wrong with that? I'm interested in your life." Nikki turned to face Barbara, a sickly sweet smile on her face.

"There are boundaries, Nikki, and you've crossed almost all of them. Jon told me you cornered him. What the hell were you thinking?" Resting her hands on her hips, the Diva glared at her brunette co-worker, anger bubbling up inside her.

"I didn't corner him. I wanted to know his intentions. I know what he's like, girl. He sleeps with girls, and ditches them. I'm not exactly going to let him do that to you, am I?"

Sighing, Barbara let her arms hang down, and shook her head. "Look, I appreciate that. But, I'm a big girl. I can take care of myself. So, please stop interfering."

"Why don't you want to talk to me about this?"

"Because it's none of your business, Nikki! It's nobodies business but mine and Jon's. Why can't you see that?"

Sighing again, Barbara put her hands up, signalling that she was done talking. She grabbed her luggage, and turned on her heels. "I'm gonna sleep somewhere else."

"Oh I wonder who's room you'll be in." She giggled, only to be answered with the door slamming as Barbara left, clearly pissed off.

She was getting sick and tired of people butting their noses into her business. If she wants to have a drunken one night stand with a co-worker, who the hell was anyone else to judge? This wasn't her usual thing. She was much more of a relationship kind of girl, but these things happened, and she wasn't hurting anyone by sleeping with a single man. The rumors in the back were all bullshit. But, nobody believed that. No matter how many times she denies that she's slept with this wrestler or that wrestler, people don't believe it. Well, why would they?

Arriving at the right door, having remembered which one she needed from earlier today, Barbara raised her hand and knocked lightly on the door. She hoped this wasn't a mistake.

As the door opened, Jon stood there, furrowing his brow as he noticed the luggage beside her.

"Could I sleep on your couch?" She asked, sounding fed up.

He nodded his head, no questions asked, and opened the door further, letting her into the room. Well, tonight would certainly be interesting.
