Sorry this chapter uploaded the wrong chapter (chap 11 was here instead of chap 10) it was recently brought to my attention, I lost the original, completed draft of this story but I could sort of remember what this chapter originally held so it's as close as I could get on this re-draft.
Thanks for reading so far, I enjoyed my original version of this story but the re-draft I'm having to do is just as enjoyable for me and I have very nearly finished typing it.
I threw my arms up to cover my face and a felt my top have smack against the wall, my legs crashing through glass, causing my body to spin backwards and follow my legs. Glass tore into my body as I flew through the space it had been occupying. Hitting the floor face down I skidded a short way, hitting a pillar which brought me to a harsh, abrupt stop. Groaning at the pain I went to use both arms to push myself up, the right arm giving way, using just the left I stood up, hearing a few gasps from the people in the room.
Giving a quick nod I half limped to the window I had used as a door, the giant robot was once again in pieces, only now very of those pieces remained working robots. Jumping from the window I flew back down to the ground, kicking a few lumps of metal as I walked towards the captain. His look was one of surprise, anger and relief,
"That was a stupid idea, you could have got yourself killed" I shrugged my left shoulder,
"I'm still here, robots gone, I say it was a good risk" he rammed his shields edge down on the head of a robot moving on the ground,
"Come on Cap, she got the job done" we both looked at Iron man as he came and landed between us, "proves she has what it takes to be one of us. I would've done a similar thing" I rolled my eyes,
"If we're done here can I have my mask back?" I went to reach out and take it from the captain when I remembered I couldn't move the arm, I looked over my shoulder and saw the piece of wooden frame digging into my back, preventing my shoulder blade from moving.
I tried to reach over my shoulder and grab it with my other hand but I could barely reach it, my fingertips brushing against it. Turning slightly I offered my shoulder to Iron man,
"Could you pull that out?" the captains' eyes widened,
"Holy! We need to get you seen too" I scoffed,
"Just pull it out, it'll be fine" the suit gripped the wood and pulled. I winced slightly at the pain but rolled my arm and shoulder smiling at the regained motion, "much better" the captain grabbed my arm and turned me to look at the wound,
"There's no mark" he touched the area and I stepped away, grinning at him,
"Of course not, I have nanobots that fix me up. Handy little things to have otherwise that window would have left me with tonnes of cuts and scars" he gave a look I couldn't quite place,
"You're still getting medical attention. You hit that building with some force" I sighed,
"It's not necessary I'm fi…"
"You're being seen to. No arguments" he turned and walked away, not giving me a chance to say anything back. As I went to go after him Iron man moved in my way,
"Best do as he says, he sent you some escorts so he is serious" I scowled slightly as I saw Barton and Romanoff heading towards me, obviously with a purpose.
