Chapter 10
Emma and Sif looked upward at the beast and knew they were in for a fight. Sif, however, felt something she wasn't accustomed to, fear. Emma looked that her a immediately knew something was wrong.
"Sif, what wrong?" she asked in a mixture of concern and fear.
"It's..it's..." Sif tried to say her words. "Mongog, is one of those who has given Odin a fight for his life, and he's barely succeed in battle against him. I imagine we would be nothing against him."
"Asgardian's..." the demon spoke. "Dare to be in my realm?"
The demon looked at the two with his demonic black eyes and saw Emma holding his greatest enemy's son's hammer and made a roar that shook the entire place.
"With the power of the thunderer?" Mongog questioned. "Odin must be in his weakest state if you are here. No matter, I'll take his greatest prize for him... you."
"Do you think there's chance that can talk this out?" Emma asked.
Mongog roared as he brought his sword above his head to make a crushing blow to them.
"Apparently, not." Emma concluded. "Sif grab on!"
Emma held out her hand has she began to twirl Mjolnir. Sif grab her hand and Emma let Mjolnir lose to the sky, letting Mjolnir drag them. Mongog roared as he tried to catch up with them, but it was no use.
"You may have escaped." he started. "But remember you are in my realm and I will find you."
Emma and Sif continued to be dragged by Mjolnir until Emma found a safe place for them to hide out.
"Okay, here's what's going on." she began. "A power witch as siege control of Asgard, obtained the status of being Queen, while holding my family hostage, and we are now being chased by a humongous fire-demon that has given Odin a good run for his money and have no chance of beating him, did I miss anything?"
"I can't imagine that you have, Emma." Sif answered. "I am sorry that this has happened to you and your family."
"Don't worry," Emma said. "When we get back Asgard, I'm gonna make sure that bitch never walks again."
That brought a smile to Sif's face. Sif admired Emma's determination. Any other warrior would've given up and accepted death, but Emma, she refuse to let family down, let alone leave them with her.
"I gather you have a plan Emma?" Sif guessed.
"One problem, at a time." Emma answered. "Starting with Mongog."
Sif wasn't really sure that they could defeat the fire demon, but was willing to follow her into battle. Emma and Sif, once again, joined hands and let Mjolnir drag them. It wasn't long til Mongog noticed them and charged for them. The two nodded to each other and turned around, facing down Mongog. Emma threw Sif to the ground and her hammer at Mongog, resulting a major hit to his torso and causing him to kneel and recover. Sif saw her chance to attack and she gladly took it, swiping her sword on the arm and knees of Mongog was effective for damage but it was also effective in angering him. He rised as he looked down on Sif, with her shield and sword ready to fight the fearsome demon. Emma looked upon Mongog and wanted to end this as quickly as possible, but due to it's towering height and incredible strength, it wasn't going to be easy. As Mongog raised his sword, ready to strike down Sif, she moved just in time making him hit nothing but brimstone. Mongog may have had height and strength but speed was something the creature lacked; Emma and Sif saw this and used it to their advantage. Sif was able to deal major damage to the legs while Emma worked on the upper body, being dragged by Mjolnir and dodging incoming hits from Mongog as best she can made her tired, the same with Sif hitting and dodging the demon made her tire as well. With her strength fading on her, she was blindsided and took a very powerful hit making her fly back to the brimstone wall and made a crater upon it. She slid down to the bottom and shook her head trying to catch her bearings but also losing the hammer, Sif saw her friend being downed and proceed to aid her only to stopped by the demonic creature as he put his sword between her and Emma.
"EMMA!" Sif yelled out. "EMMA, LOOK OUT!"
Emma saw what she meant called the hammer back to her and shielded herself from the incoming blow. With the strength she had left, she forced him off of her causing him to lose his footing. Emma was breathing heavily and wanted to catch her breath, unfortunately she was denied the chance to as Mongog recovered and came after her. Emma steeled her face as she stood up and thought.
"I'm not going to die here and let that Asgardian bitch take my family away from me! The family I spend my life trying to find!"
And with that thought, her eye glowed white just as the hammer did. Emma noticed that the feeling was not electricity, but her magic she was born with, her Savior Magic. She held Mjolnir to the sky and summoned thunder and lighting; only the lighting was glowing white, striving away from their usual lighting blue, and the struck the powerful demon. He howled at the pain Emma's lighting gave and was put on his knees. Emma grasped both of her hands upon Mjolnir and a milky white aura surrounded her. She ran to the face of the demon and swung at the jaw, the hit was more than Emma, Sif, and even the Mongog thought as Mongog broke down several walls of brimstone and was knocked unconscious. Sif regrouped with Emma with awe in her eyes.
"I must say, Swan, you surprise me everyday that I've met." Sif said.
"I think it's fair to say that I just surprised myself." Emma replied.
"What was that?" Sif asked, wanting to know.
"I think it was my magic." Emma guessed.
"Magic?" Sif continued.
"My savior magic." Emma restated. "Remember, when I told you about Storybrooke, Henry, and me being the Savior."
"Aye." Sif remembered.
"Savior magic is powerful magic where I'm from." Emma said has she thought more. "But I thought Earth magic was weaker compare to Asgardian magic."
"The hammer." Sif interjected. "The hammer strengthen your magic to Asgardian heights. Those who are worthy shall have the power of Thor, that mixed with the magic you have makes nearly as powerful as Odin."
To this knowledge, Emma look upon hands and saw a glimmer of the milky white aura she'd obtained and spoke.
"Could this be enough to defeat Enchantress?" Emma hoped.
"If this magic can defeat Mongog, it should be, how do you Midgardian's say? A walk in the park."
"Good, we build up our strength then we take back Asgard." the female thunderer said with strength.
"Aye!" the goddess of war cried out.
Emma and Sif found a small cave for them to replenish their strength and slept. Before taking their slumber, Sif spoke.
"Swan?" she softly called out.
"Yeah?" Emma replied.
"Whatever happens tomorrow, I want you to know that I am honored to fight by your side and even more honored to have met you." Sif continued.
"And I'm honored to be by yours."Emma replied back. "And honored to call you a sister."
To this Sif smiled as a tear strolled down her face.
